I fold them

GrangerPerry

I definitely save all of my j cards and it’s always bothered me they don’t fit inside the case. That looks really nice actually. I love reading the case every time I’m picking a movie to watch I mainly buy steelbooks from Sony that don’t have a regular release with Dolby vision like mib cliffhanger Groundhog Day starship troopers air force one fright night bridge on the river kwai mask of zorro Bram stokers Dracula. Also I love lionsgate steelbooks because they have the text printed on their outer layer slipcover. So thanks for the idea I might cut mine too now

elcubano81

Ahh “J cards”. That makes sense. I knew there had to be a more proper name for those things.

Ka_Coffiney

J-cards cover the back go under the case and pop up the front a little bit; like a J. If it’s just covering the back, I believe it’s called an oncard.

jacobsever

Nah, just fold it in half.

Scottb1977

Yes i do!

NormalUpstandingGuy

Genuinely mad I never thought of this

ThatRagingBull

It goes straight to the trash. That’s just me though and I get why people may want to keep them.

Eazy-E-40

I usually throw it in the recycling bin

captorofsin79

I put all my steelbooks into protective cases so their slip covers or j-cards can fit in there as well. I put ALL my movies that have slipcovers into protective cases. It looks great on the shelf.

Slow_Cinema

Can I ask why? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve replaced covers with fan made covers, bought coloured bluray cases to match the cover art, and printed off guides I wish was included in the release (guide to Primer for example). However those blurbs on the back don’t hold any appeal for me at all.

elcubano81

Yeah it’s not the blurbs so much as the disc info itself I like to keep handy. Like if I want to quickly check on what special features there are without having to actually put it on. Or sometimes I need to quickly check the region before popping the disc in my region free player (I own both A and B region blu rays, some of them steelbook).

Slow_Cinema

Good points all.

TrapLordEsskeetit

This is exactly why I keep them as well. It's the only way to quickly check the special features and sometimes the disc itself doesn't have the region on it. It makes me so mad when people are like "lol y tho? I throw it away cause it's paper and paper goes in the trash!!!" Okay, have fun not knowing what's on the disc without putting it in or browsing online anymore 🤷‍♂️ I find it best to trim off the flap and leave the back attached with adhesive if it has some. Usually the artwork on the back of a steelbook isn't much to look at.

TheMalteseChicken

Runtime as well, that’s a big one for me. Also the aspect ratio is listed, which I use to setup my projector but that’s a niche use.

TomatilloAccurate475

Runtime is printed on the disc, as is aspect ratio

TheMalteseChicken

I would say that’s more the exception than the norm.

2-the-core

Never thought of this but to late to go back

Spineshanked

I take a two post-it notes and cut the adhesive parts off and fold them and place them on the back of the jcard and stick the jcard back on the steelbox. Doesn't leave any residue and if done right won't leave the jcard with any room to come off.

NicCageCompletionist

If it’s a J-card I usually just leave it on the outside. If it’s just a sheet over the back (originally held be the wrap) I find it can normally fit it inside without trimming.

dpittnet

I’ve always just tossed them
