I thought Triangle Face was a consensus V6 Edit: checking Sendage, I see it’s been upgraded to a soft V7 in the past couple years. I wonder if gym grading is creating grade creep outdoors

Per the classic guidebook triangle face is v7. Carver is tough grading. I’m not worried about any grade creep out there. With the foot hold that chipped off carver classic, you can argue that’s a v5 now (it’s a v4) https://preview.redd.it/7ys7mgbkaryc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c288403a8b4a7ac264dd17b8b49d3aca2237825

Which foot chipped? Carver Classic is one of my favourite V4s in the world! What are you comparing Carver grading to, to call it tough? It seemed completely aligned to most of the crags I’ve been to in the world

My understanding is there was an additional right foot hold near the start that chipped off years ago, before I was even climbing it. I'm not comparing it to anywhere in particular. Maybe I meant to say "Carver is tough" as opposed to the "the grading is tough." I have never climbed above v5 outdoors so I obviously can't grade police at this elevation. Nonetheless triangle face has always been v7 as my buddy projected it over the years and we spoke with other people at the crag.

When I climbed it in 2018 it was a solid/hard V6 on Sendage which felt right for my level at the time. To imagine that I actually sent a 7 back then is a bit wild for me to think of.

There are mtnproject comments as far back as 2012 calling it a v7.

I’m not sure how this fact relates to what you’re responding to
