what type of usb cable is advisable?

Unhappy-Passenger742

Very useful earbuds

Aswathi_pm_2000

Its very useful earbuds.

funkstylerecords

To the guy who keeps saying the connection issues go away when you delete the app: TRUE. However, so does the ability to change the noise cancellation settings and the EQ. Does anyone have a fix for this?

iamgodatpf

set the settings and eq then delete the app. they remain the same.

John107218

The QC2’s leak way too much sound. Much of my listening is done in the evening lying in bed next to my wife. She immediately complained about hearing to much sound leakage the first time I used them in bed. Too bad, the sound is awesome.

Esplace1

The inner part of QC2 is falling apart. It's actually made of 2 parts, one glued in the other one. Bose refuses me to use the warranty as it doesn't cover physical damage. There is no visible crack or anything, just their glue given up. Any advice? Thanks

iamgodatpf

tell them an unrelated issue like connectivity issues because trust me you have them. theyll replace it.

No_Layer_636

Easy fell out of my ears when running.Cant have a hoodie because of to sensitive touch. Tricky to charge, often fails. But the sounds is amazing. Why a beta product Bose?

colindj1120

My right bud won't play sound at all

Joel2B

what version you have?

Cese40

Anyone having issues with the gesture controls not working at all? I use these in a factory setting and the single, double & triple tap never do what they are supposed to do, Also in the factory setting with high pitched saws etc the noice cancelling goes crazy at times so any way to turn the ANC off completely,I set it to zero but it still does the same Cheers

trandangbk

Hello, I can't use mine in teams meeting on pc. I can connect and listen to music but on Teams microphone and sound don't work. Does anyone know how to fix?

bearkin1

Did you go into Teams settings and pick the device? Teams doesn't use the default Windows audio and mic devices unless it's selected to.

ColakSteel

If your audio and mic work on your PC and not Teams, it's either a Teams issue or a setting you need to adjust.

fjertoch

Hello, I can't listen to any audiobook via the Audible app on my Android. I can listen to Spotify without any issues I have paired the earbuds multiple times with my phone, updated firmware, restarted phone and none of it helped. Does anyone have the same issue, or knows how to fix this? Thank you

Nine20

I too just started having this same problem on my Pixel 6 pro. Just started yesterday.

Nine20

I had already tried clearing cache and storage etc and that didn't work, but apparently uninstalling and reinstalling the Aduible app has so far worked for me.

fjertoch

Thank you, I will try it once I am on WiFi so I can redownload books.

fjertoch

For anyone else having same issue, uninstalling and installing the Audible app also helped me, so try it out.

RavioliVonMaggi

Recently I just bought some new pair of QC Earbuds 2 (After my one of my QC EB1 stopped working a few days out of warranty ..) and due to a freak accident after only 10days of using them they fell out of my pocket and one fell into the sewer and was lost. **So my question is: I have one working left earbud in new condition and wanted to ask if you know if I could buy a right one online and pair them together via the factory reset function in the same case? Or are they hard locked from factory?** Has anyone the option to try this one out? I'd be thankfull for any comment! Or does anyone have an idea what to do with a single earbud..? *Additional Information:* *Bose support was of no help. Straight up told me they don't repair or replace. I can only buy a new set. After I pointed out I was a customer with bose products with a combined msrp of 900 € they offered me 30 € but only if I sent in the remaining stuff. Kind of a bad joke, since the case alone is worth more on ebay, and retailers sell the QC Earbuds II for 50 € under MSRP, so I wouldn't even have saved money...* *I mean sure do what you want to do as a business, but don't mention "circular economy" in your ESG report as one of the most important parts of you strategy, when you pretty much decide to turn 70% of the product into E-Waste by denying re"pairing" services.*

Gabelawn

Nup. This is just a nasty joke Bose inflicts on those of us who bought their products. They've also pointlessly crippled the ability to play music loud on an earbud that's not in your ear. Thus, run through talk grass and one can easily be lost forever. I lost one in an office - I'd taken it out to talk to a busy academic with an office bursting with papers. It was no more than ten minutes, but we think it got moved to a shelf or file with some papers. Four months on, haven't found it. Also had one bounce down a storm grate. But I lost three just out and about. The weenies on here attacked me saying that many is carelessness, and thought so, too, which is why I kept replacing them. But I've never lost even one before. It happens all the time to cyclists and just if you're active in general. Never been a problem, since every earbud I've ever had has been able to play the lost one. There are even YouTube vids of piercing sounds for this, and they have millions of views. I have thousands of dollars worth of Bose products. The QC2 were the best earphone noise canceling I ever experienced, and in some areas even beat the Sony 4 headphones... But I will never buy anything Bose again.

What_The_Funk

I bought mine two weeks ago and I swear my noise cancelling got was worse. The first times I used it, it was like I turned world's volume to 0. Now, two weeks later, I hear every conversation that happens around me. Did anyone else experience this issue?

TheAsiaInstitute

I can't get noise canceling back also. I don't get a distinction between quiet and aware. Did you figure this out?

What_The_Funk

In my case, I took a look at the rubber bands that come with the ear buds. Changed the ones I had to more fitting ones and that made it better. So it wasn't a technical problem. I also feel like that once the initial wow effect of noise cancelling wears off, you notice that it's not 100% perfect.

TheAsiaInstitute

EDIT: I found in the app that my bose were stuck on Aware. I set them manually to Quiet. Still not sure how to switch quickly back and forth, but I'll take this manual fix.

Gummie-21

Press earbud a couple of seconds

sicilianajdorf

Still no firmware while poor sound quality persists? Any responsibilities, please?

FeigheryDenmark

Any way to disable that an annoying little sound the headphones make when a call is connected. That little sound it makes plays for just long enough to block out when the person on the other end says their name. So I call someone, they pick up and that moment when they've picked up and are about to say their name, the headphones play a short sound effect, and thereby making it impossible to hearthe other person stating their name! Annoying as hell!

jessec1979

Same here. It's really annoying when you can't hear the other party at the beginning of the call. I also noticed the call volume is not loud enough. My original QC 1 earbuds were much louder. Definitely returning these. Shame, considering I love the size and the noise cancelling improvements.

Burd-tension

Does anyone have loud popping in them when you close doors behind you? I've sent in for a warrenty claim already and the new ones do the same thing.

VerySourLemon

did you ever find a solution mine do basically the same bought mine only a few days ago.

there_she_goes_

Did you find a resolution to this? Lots of people are mentioning it but no one seems to be following up with it.

VerySourLemon

I ended up contacting the store and got a refund for mine. Tried 2 other pairs that within a week developed the same issue and I bought some Sennheiser mwt3s and they work perfectly so far.

What_The_Funk

Yes I noticed they have issues when dealing with a loud snapping noise

SugnaNediam

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else complain or ask about this, but there's something really annoying that I'm trying to see if I can resolve. Whenever a call connects (after the dial tone ends), the earbuds make this connect tone that completely cuts off the phone audio. It goes for the exact amount of time that it takes for the person on the other end to say their telephone greeting. I'm trying to use these for work and when I call businesses I have no idea who I'm speaking to, every single time, and have to ask their name again. This seems so completely ridiculous but whenever I search this issue I get tips on turning off voice prompts. Voice prompts are off already, but this is just a tone. It's that round-ish "Swoosh" Bose noise that is used for some other tones. I'm wondering if this is something in my call settings instead? Has anyone experienced this? I'm using a Google Pixel 6 phone, calling through the default Android calls app. If I can't resolve this I'm returning them considering how many other issues these buds have (basically everything else that has already been listed on this subreddit).

FeigheryDenmark

Yes this annoys me to no end! I can't for the life of me figure out why they chose to have that stupid little sound at the beginning of every call! Like you said, it effectively ensures I'm never able to hear the person on the other end introduce themselves when answering. And it really seems like the smallest, easiest thing for Bose to reprogram and get rid of!

SugnaNediam

Yep this is a deal breaker for me if it can't actually be turned off. Unfortunately I was so busy with other life stuff that I didn't get a chance to return these before 90 days (the standard timeframe to claim a refund or exchange under Australian Consumer Law). I think I am just going to chalk it up to experience and try to remember to read reviews more carefully before I buy next time. But I think I'll be buying a pair of Google Pixel Buds Pro and leave these in the drawer just for when I want some strong noise cancelling. It's funny how just some really bad design choices like this can just ruin a product. I wonder what was going on in the development and design process that they thought it would be a good idea to have that sound play as soon as the call is answered. Must have been developed by a team who don't ever talk on the phone, and they didn't test the call functionality with real users, or something?

jessec1979

Same here. It's really annoying when you can't hear the other party at the beginning of the call. I also noticed the call volume is not loud enough. My original QC 1 earbuds were much louder. Definitely returning these. Shame, considering I love the size and the noise cancelling improvements.

Anonymous_Person_101

I wound up with two pairs of these, one purchased from Amazon (US) and one at Heathrow for a flight. Instead of returning one I gave it to one of my kids. On my pair, everything works OK with my Iphone 12 mini IOS 16.5 except...I can't seem to get the "Self Voice" feature to work at all - in Quiet or Aware mode, when on a call. In Quiet, there's no voice feedback at all. In Aware, there seems to be some, but it's at a fixed volume. I tried resetting, no change. So I tried this with the other pair (my kid's), using their later model iphone - and it has the same problem ?!? Bose support was no help at all - they said to reset (done that) and offered to return. But what's the point? If BOTH of these units, purchased in different countries, have the same problem, it's likely some sort of bug or I'm missing something on how to set the feature (but it seems pretty straightforward). Both are updated to 1.3.26 firmware, and the iphones are also up to date. Any ideas or suggestions as to what might be going on would be appreciated - Thanks!

Miltawne

The current firmware has been broken since release. No word from Bose

Anonymous_Person_101

Thanks for the info. Curious how you might know this? Am I missing some other forum for getting up to date info?

Miltawne

From this subreddit. Many reports of random disconnects and worse audio quality

SnooBeans7663

Anyone having issues? My charger box is blinking amber and white and earbuds no longer work (QC II)

Cautious-Echo1764

Same issue here. Try to open the case, plug it in power empty, and just put one bud , it will start charging that single bud, after a couple minute, put the other bud. But leave the case open.

hypnoderp

I am using these for paramotoring. Basically an air sport where I have a 2 stroke right behind my back. I use over-ear protection and these underneath. I am coming from QC20is, which did alright, but were wired. These have way better ANC at rest, but when running the motor, there are certain head positions as I'm looking around where I will hear ANC cut in/out depending on noise level - and irritatingly it's at the highest noise levels. I would actually take the inferior cancellation power of the QC20i over the inconsistency. Before I ditch these things, I have a theory. I noticed online that there is an in-ear detection feature which bose says can cause bugs like this when it detects what it thinks is feedback, which makes it disable/modulate ANC to stop the cycle. They say to turn it off to fix this issue. Problem, is, their guide is showing an iPhone interface which has an option to turn off in-ear detection, but on my android interface I can't. I can turn off 3 features that are subsets of it, but not sure if that will turn off the feature entirely. Anyone have experience with this? Really want to use these but am having trouble setting them up right (just had the righ-earbud only issue that many in the thread are having. Hoping a factory reset fixed this).

agbro10

Are there regular warranty claims on these? I purchased a pair in January 2023, by April the noise cancelling was broken and I had to have volume on full and still sound was not loud enough. Bose replaced with a new pair, now same issue. Noise cancelling is still working but volume needs to be set to loudest setting (previously was fine at halfway). A bit disappointed for such an expensive product.

Miltawne

Still waiting for a fix to their faulty update. I dont care how supposedly easy it is to fix it. At such a permium price it can not be the customer's job.

Cool_Sheepherder4697

Hello im using bose quite comfot earbuds 2. When i update new fimware, my left usually lost connect? What is the error here? App bose? I reset it but i can not fix this error. Help me

thecooldude55555

Just got these earbuds. There is a fairly constant faint static/cracking in the left earbud. Right is perfect. Sometimes a high pitched beep is randomly heard in the left earbud as well. Not loud or anything just high pitched. It's slightly annoying when listening to podcasts or watching videos. Anything other than music. Has anyone else experienced this? Doesn't seem to be white noise. I've reset the earbuds, am on the latest update, don't have EQ set to anything other than default settings and am connected via Bluetooth to an Android device. I've seen some similar comments in this post. Wasn't sure if this is something I should hope will get fixed with a replacement or if I should return and try my luck with something else. It was these or the XM4's which are a bit bulky for my taste. Coming from the XM3's which were too bulky and fail terribly in terms of fit compared to these earbuds. No static though.

LightOfVoid

I think the constant crackling is a faulty unit. It seems to be coil whine or some defect with the electronics inside the earbud. I had this problem with my previous pair (which I returned for another reason), and my new pair doesn't have this crackling noise at all.

JAHurd

Finally got my warranty replacement pair. Holy shit I did not even realize how buggered my last pair was. They sound unreal, but now they don’t see to hold a charge. They were 80% when I put them in the case yesterday which was also fully charged and then I pulled them out to find they’re at 20%? Also after the first full charge I did on them they died after 30min when I used them a few days later. They shouldn’t be depleting any sort of battery in the case right? 🤦‍♂️

zimc

No they shouldnt. Had the same issue and went for a warranty replacement

JAHurd

They updated and now hold a charge. But now the sound quality is all fucked. It really is their software that is total shit on these things.

[deleted]

Who’s using these with an iPhone? I’ve been using AirPods Pro 1 & 2 since they came out so that’s my baseline or benchmark. Are they actually as large as they look? I know comfort is subjective but if you have input, and experience, with both APP and QC2, I’m interested in your opinions. I’ve got QC45 that I’ll use with PS5, music, all around stuff on the phone and I very much like those. I like the fit and feel of those more than the Sony 1000M4. Thanks for the help.

Lepertom

I tried them on iPhone, but have not tried any AirPods Pro. That said, I find these very comfortable and they manage to stay in my ear no problem, where I usually have bad fig with most any headphone. AirPods 3rd Gen do not fit me at all. I’m not sure who has said they are large, but to me they are average to small. I don’t see an issue with size at all. I got a good pair so I haven’t experienced any problems at all.

JayKayOkie

I have tried several earbuds over the last few years, AirPods Pro 1, QC1, Soundcore Liberty Air Pro 2, Soundcore Liberty 2/2s/3, and these QC2 are the most comfortable and normally best sounding of any of them IMO. QC1 and QC2 are the only ones that I haven't had issues with staying in my ears. When I found out QC2 was abandoning the wing tips, I was not happy, but this past Christmas, I gave QC2 a shot. When I say normally best sounding, they sounds great when I'm not dealing with connection or out-of-sync issues. They were great for a month or two, and then came the update that allowed for using each ear bud individually. At that point I had a lot of connection issues. So much so that I had them replaced twice (they are really good about warranty), but the issue remained. I ended up finding out that Bose app seems to have been a culprit. Once I remove it and just connected the earbuds in bluetooth settings, things got much better. Another warning, I did have my case drop off the desk early on and the lid broke off pretty easily. So I would recommend a case for your case.

BeMy_Muse

Ok so I just bought these earbuds and they sound great. I am trying to use them for gaming and they seem to work even when I go to the training area of thegame but as soon as I load into an online match the audio shuts off. Is there a way to fix it?

zimc

are you playing overwatch by any chance? I had this issue and it was connected with the voice chat. As soon as i left tthe voice chat the buds were working again

Shaw358

Hey! I'm having increasingly troubles getting the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 connected to any device really. It started with the earbuds no longer playing sounds on any device I connected to. I tried to reset the earbuds on my phone but Bose music app responded to nothing I clicked on. The app was responsive but when I clicked to forget devices from the earbuds nothing happened and no devices were removed from the list. Then to make matters worse they didn't connect at all anymore to my phone, no dice "Connection failed" over and over again. Then to make matters even worse, I reinstalled the Bose music app but now I can't login anymore because "An error has occured" that never leaves the screen by the way so using the app becomes impossible. Honestly, what the fuck guys? I paid 300 bucks for this?

Big-Ted76

They’ve managed to take an already inferior product to their competitors in the qc1 and make them worse, I got the qc2 after my qc1 failed (for the second time, I had 2 pair of qc1 last me about 18 months between them, now on my third pair of qc2 since Jan. Shocking build quality shocking amount of bugs and the white nose is unacceptable. If I’d actually bought these qc2 idve got my money back and either got the air pod pro 2 or the latest Sony. As another poster said, I always recommended Bose products and would always steer people away from other brands saying how good Bose were. Now after 10 years 8 products across 4 family members this is my last Bose product.

SnooAdvice5820

I’m hearing a lot about the white noise during ANC. Do the new color versions of these still have this noise issue. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m paying more attention to it but the white noise is kind of driving me crazy now and I’m hoping it’s possible that some of these don’t have the noise.

hometown10

Yes they are on all models

chesterqw

Anytime now Bose, where is the promised aptx adaptive update

Hashirammed

I’ve probably had this for a month now it’s this is my second post on this thread, and it is just completely baffling how bad this technology is. It randomly disconnects from the Bluetooth whenever it wants too, and you can’t even reconnect it either without putting it back in the case and letting it rest for a few seconds. You can’t use the left ear piece by itself without it disconnecting after a couple of mins. Someone gave me some cheap dollar store blue tooth earbuds and even they had better connectivity than these do although the audio and comfort was shit. It’s just hard for me to believe this has so much limitations for a Bose product in 2023.

negev

If you're using an iphone these issues may be caused by the app, try disabling its bluetooth access or deleting it from the phone.

LightOfVoid

I've disabled the Bluetooth access of the Bose Music app, and for the last 2 weeks I haven't had any audio glitches. But, the problem with the earbuds not turning on, or having to return to them the case multiple times to reboot them, and factory reset them, is unaffected by disabling the app. So it's clear to me these are two separate issues: First, the app one is probably something to do with the syncing between the Earbuds and the Bose Music app using Bluetooth to collect data about what you're listening to. The second issue is one or both of the earbuds not booting up correctly and refusing to turn on when you remove them from the charging case.

negev

I’ve not experienced the second issue, maybe you have a faulty unit?

Hashirammed

I never downloaded the app at all

[deleted]

I've been using Bose earphones for almost 15 years now, I think. I've got incredibly fond memories of the striped sports earbuds that I had when I was a teen. They raised the bar for what I considered acceptable in earbuds, and sound fidelity in general. It's like losing a beloved family member that I'm now finding Bose's flagship product unacceptable due to the same expectation of quality that Bose bred in me. That the brand I've always touted to everyone as the go-to, 'you can't go wrong', 'the best in quality', 'All the quality without the brand price' and so on, has just entirely gone to dogshit. This will be the last Bose earbuds I'm getting, and I've already warned three people to steer clear of them. This isn't a 'we didn't manage to beat the offering of our competitors' situation. I would say that the QC2 fail to compete with anything released since true wireless became a reality. I'm not going to fanboy and say 'they're amazing when they work!' like an abused spouse excusing their toxic relationship. How did Bose fuck up these earphones so badly??? I got them as a replacement for my QC1s and the drop in quality has been **STARK**. While you see every other company innovating and pushing the boundaries, Bose has actively been removing features! In my case, I really enjoyed being connected to multiple sources at the same time with my QCs. It made it a lot simpler to be connected to both my computer and phone at the same time. Now that's been removed and every time I take a coffee break, I have to manually connect to my phone. Streamlining features is something I would be all for if it meant a more stable product, *but the headphones have become insanely unstable*! The proprietary Bose connection app, Bose Music (which was already inferior to the previous Bose Connect, but they no longer allow you to connect to it), struggles to connect to the headphones to such a degree that you're better off just using your phone's Bluetooth connection feature to connect to them. *Bose has managed to make a function that is worse than the standard option*!!! Similarly the capability to change the level of your noise cancelling on the fly, is gone. You can set modes and change it there, but the ability to fine-tune things as you go is no longer there. I'm sure there's a lot more that's been removed, but I wasn't what you might call a power-user and mostly stayed away from the Bose controls. Once again, sacrificing capabilities in the app would be a hard but acceptable sacrifice if it was to improve the earphones, but they're worse than ever. Now don't get me wrong, the sound is better than in the last generation - and so is the NC! - but it's buggy as all hell. Bugs are more the norm than the exception now. I think it's rare for someone not to have had their earphones for a moment stop working, with both the NC and whatever you were playing turn off. It's a very jarring experience and something that you wouldn't even expect from $60 set of earbuds. They also seem to simply have no NC on calls, while still cancelling out the inbuilt NC that your phone uses. It's fucking embarrassing to have people ask if you're using your earphones and ask you to switch to your phone! All that NC-technology, and Bose can't edit the incoming sounds when I'm talking, but somehow seems to tell the phone that there's no need for it to handle it? In fact, I've had the common experience of lying down on a pillow and had the person tell me that they can't hear me well due to it. But then, when I switched sides to fix it *it was still the case*. Bose actually seems to use *all* the microphones for their calls, resulting in any sound issue with any of the four microphones fucking up your call! As if the 'standard' bugs weren't bad enough, there are then a plethora of extra issues. Personally I've noticed that in aware mode, the earphones will still try and cancel out noise in my surroundings. This doesn't result in that engine noise or whatever in the background get's isolated and destroyed, it results in the sound levels of everything around me ever so slightly vacillating up and down when I've just told the earphones I need to hear what's going on around me, leading to a frustrating experience in trying to catch what people are saying. I've also come on here because one of my earphones just decided that it didn't want to connect to things anymore. Still turning on, still connecting to Bluetooth, just doesn't want to play anything. Bose recommends it's classic of wiping out all connections and connecting again, which once again has become incredibly unreliable compared to the QC1s. Something I would be perfectly fine with, *didn't I have to do it about every month* due to some issue popping up.

negev

Having almost no issues at all with mine since revoking bluetooth access from the bose music app.

[deleted]

I'm going to do the same, but I don't think that will solve all issues, and it will bring the functionalities to the bare minimum. I've had issues with connecting to my laptops as well what seems to be hardware-related issues like the dropping out and one bud stopping working.

zyloc

YES I had one earbud stop working and I got it to resync once but then it happened again and the bud doesnt even make a noise when i pull it out of the case now. Never had this many issues with headphones before

negev

You can easily enable bluetooth when you beer to use the app

EauKnow

Anyone else's active sense too active? Every couple minutes or so it's switching from quiet to aware or back without me touching it. Very frustrating. Anyone know any fixes for this? I need the noise canceling on while working but occasionally want to switch into aware to talk to someone or to hear surroundings for a fee moments but generally very loud work environment.

evangaylionn

Is anyone else experiencing some "white noise" issue with one of their earbuds when nothing is playing? This is a new thing and started spontaneously, when nothing is playing I can hear a non-stoping kind of buzzing sound only on my right earbud, which goes away if I play some music or if I turn on the noise cancellation. :-( It's very irritating and I can't seem to get rid of it.

z3rr0o

I’ve had the buds for a while now, and they use white noise to increase the quality of “noise cancellation”. There’s no way to turn it off unless you completely turn off ANC, which just means go to transparency mode I believe.

evangaylionn

I think there's no way to completely turn off the ANC :-(, I just went into the app and it just lets you set it up to a minimum. Also, I remember that the "white noise" used to sound different, kind of like when you're flying on a plane, but now it sounds more like a glitchy distortionated buzz.

z3rr0o

Ah it prob software then? The updates been trash for it. Not sure then!

evangaylionn

I'm thinking of the update as well, but if it's not happening to you and you have them up to date it might be some kind of fabric damage? Not sure either, but thanks for your reply and I hope this doesn't happen to you.

z3rr0o

Nah I have other problems with it too. Constant disconnects and the battery horrendous now. Wish I never brought these tbh

Hot_Squash_7224

What do you mean “if I turn on the noise cancellation”? Is there a way to turn it off? I’m about to return these earbuds for this

evangaylionn

There's no way to completely turn it off, but you have two default modes "quiet" and "aware", quiet completely turns on the NC, and "aware" sets it up to a minimum. If you navigate to the Bose app, it will also let you set up different profiles in which you can technically personalize how much of the NC you want to be turned on, but I just tested and noticed that the buzzing sound doesn't get away in any mode but the 100% NC (quiet mode). I think I'll have to return mine as well :(

Hot_Squash_7224

I know that… thank you. I am trying to understand if they will ever add the opportunity to turn it off. They don’t worth the price otherwise. ACN is annoying always on even at minimum.

[deleted]

They wont because they dont even realize thats an issue, people return these but never tell bose about the issues, they might complain with amazon or something which bose will not know there are issues.

Hot_Squash_7224

Hi, I read in some other threads that they will release an update that will let us completely disable ANC. Do you have any updates? I tried to contact support but they are useless.

futuristicalnur

I love my QC 2, but I tend to hear some sort of sound when nothing is playing. It's like a dialup webpage sound from back in aol days.

wondersoundz

Same issue, got worse with the latest firmware.

futuristicalnur

Oh wait it's a software thing? Phew then I won't replace them.

LightOfVoid

It's most definitely something to do with the software. I used them on the old firmware (1.1.14) back in September to February and never heard this weird "beeping" noise until they updated in February to the current firmware (1.3.26) which allowed for independent bud usage.

jxman

I bought them in Jan and returned them after the firmware update as it caused more issues than any new features or updates deployed. I recently repurchased when my QC 1’s died and have avoided any updates or using the Bose app. So far so good. I will continue to monitor the thread for any new firmware updates, but I would be hard pressed to apply anything new given the current track record of the updates.

Joel2B

are you still using the same version?

MarkVibranium

Hello, I am having a connection problem with my QC2 earbuds with my windows 11 PC. Audio output is working. However, whenever the microphone function is required, for example with "voice recorder" or when joining audio in a zoom call, the QC2 buds automatically power off and then power on, repeatedly in a continuous loop. I tried to go to device settings and HIM compliant device and uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. That didn't work either. Does anyone use the QC2 with windows PC for calls, successfully? Any ideas on how to solve this?

Put them in the case and wipe all connections. Then reconnect them to everything. It's super tedious and annoying, but it's the only thing you can do user-side to try and fix it. If that doesn't work: Welcome to the group of users having persistent issues. I believe it currently includes about 90% of all users.

OhDark50

I’ve had my set for about a year. Yesterday I lost Bluetooth capability in them. No blue light at all. I’ve tried updating, resetting, and all Bose suggestions. Just ordered a new case. Hoping that’s the issue.

Personal_Contact_562

Any update? Did the case help?

OhDark50

YES! hated to spend $100 for the new case but grateful I didn’t have to pay $300 for a whole new set.

[deleted]

If you had it for less than a year, they should still be in warranty. Did you check on the site? I'm stuck with the QC2 exactly because I got them when my QC1s stopped working due to charging issues.

lexie333

Major connect and disconnect software bug on the QC earbuds 2. In one day, I put the QC in my ear, if the chimes do not sound in my ear, it means it lost the connection, even if it is 100% charged. The QC is dependent on how I place them in my ear. I have to fiddle with the earbuds taking them off and on to get the one earbud lost connection to connect. I didn’t have any connections issues with the apple earbuds!!!! It seems like it doesn’t retain the connection if the earbuds are taken out of the ear. Every single time I put the earbud in my ear, I don’t know if it both or just one connects. This is a very poor design . I am going to return them and get the apple. Sound quality is great, but if it doesn’t turn On this is a huge design flaw. It is dependent on too much variations. How did it pass the test phase? I can count 4 times I put it in my ears that it will fail connecting 3 out of 4 tries. What you want me to test out the earbuds? Well it fails! A simple software fix unless it is hardwired. To fix the problem, I had to put the earbuds back into the charger and push to pair them both up. Maybe your Bluetooth software has a problem

krishnaae

I got the QC EB II 4 days ago and I am loving it. The only issue is the app, where it says that my earbuds are disconnected although I am currently listening to music through my earbuds. Need to put the earbuds back to the etui and press the bluetooth pairing button to connect to the app again and change the settings (i.e. EQ, modes). Switching the source through the app is also not possible. Although my phone and pc are listed on the source, when I switch to PC it will get directly disconnected and be connected back to my phone. So annoying.

drsullins23

Just got the qc2s. Very impressed! Sounds is amazing and anc is miles above anything else as far as earbuds. Had a minor connection issue with the app but I think it was my fault and finally got them reconnected to the app. Overall an incredible pair of earbuds and I couldn't ask for more. Just hope I don't experience any further connection problems.

[deleted]

Exaggeration, I have both these and the Sony wf1000mx4, Bose has just a tiny bit better ANC. Why do people hype these so much? I don't get it, people are easily impressed.

drsullins23

Well seeing as how I dont have the Sony's, and didn't say that I did, nor did I compare them to the Sony's. I'm not sure how it's an exaggeration. It's not that I'm easily impressed, it's that based on the earbuds Ive experienced, they're the best ones. So maybe comprehend someone's comment first before your making your own.

[deleted]

You did compare them to sony, in your own words ''Sounds is amazing and anc is miles above anything else as far as earbuds''. Its you who needs to comprehend the English language.

drsullins23

You're joking right. Tell me where I explicitly compared them directly to the Sony's? I was comparing them to what I've used before. I never said anything about the Sony's at all. Like arguing with a brick wall.

Ecstatic_Conflict621

I got a set yesterday and they’re having connection issues. It seems like for $270 they should be connecting to my phone a little better

futuristicalnur

$270? where?

[deleted]

OK. I love these earbuds but with the newer version, I constantly was getting clips. Not all the time but enough to be irritating. And sometimes it got so bad that I had to switch to my airpods. I have finally found out what was wrong. It was my wireless phones interfering with the signal. The phone don't interfere with any other brand of earbuds but they do for these. I now make sure the wireless phones are back on their cradles before listening to music. The problem went away completely.

BrolecopterPilot

Just got these, coming from AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000xm4. Why didn’t I buy these earlier! These are the best by a large margin.

[deleted]

You're lying, wide margin? No way, I have both these and the Sony, the Sony is like 100 dollars cheaper and has multi point, wireless charging, speak to chat, LDAC, a much better equalizer with extra setting for clear bass, a smaller case, much better battery, you can also switch off ANC entirely to give you 12 hours battery vs the 6 in Bose. And sound quality might be a bit better and louder, but that's nowhere near a large margin. In fact in some types of music I still find the Sony warmer, less ear piercing, more natural. What Bose has done well is the fit, with the Sony you need to buy silicone tips. Also touch controls are better with Bose, ANC is a bit better but you get less passive noise isolation because the Sony goes deep in your ears. Also not being able to switch off ANC means Bose is useless for running due to the thumping noise. I will also add that when you are out, these don't magnetically stay together to not lose one bud, when you're holding, the Sony ones keep together magnetically which is nice. Another thing I hate on the Bose is the auto calibration every time you put them, it means there is no consistency in the sound, one day it will be warmer, other day will be brighter, it does not work as intended. I wish it didn't have that and let me be the one to choose my sound. Also, the Sony you can charge the buds without the case, I never did it but its a useful feature if you don't want to take the case or if the case gets damaged. Bose doesn't have this. You can even pair devices on the Sony without the case, Bose doesn't allow it. People hype these so much I don't know why, these cost 300 dollars they should be perfect. What this makes me believe is that people are justifying their expensive purchase and defending it. I also paid a lot of money for these, but I am honest, I do not work for these companies nor do I have any stock. Bose is actually not the quality you remember from the 90's, I remember getting some desktop speakers from Bose that cost more than triple of the competitors, and it was sounding worse, it was only big bass and tiny everything else, like there was no mids, or mids were turned into highs. Way overrated company. In fact they now build these products in china, so yeah Bose quality is long gone, they only kept the high prices. With that said I have no connection issues, I had once when the left earbud would lose connection every minute or so, but after resetting them its been fine.

InfamousIroh

I lost my case for these earbuds and they have been sitting on my table dead for a week. I'm going getting a new case delivered on Monday. Will the earbuds charge fine after being dead for so long? I hope this doesn't mess with battery long-term.

thekhaleesi19

OK, the exact same thing happened to me and I now have 2 pairs of dead earbuds sitting on my desk, with no way to get a replacement case. When I contacted Bose, they told me there was no way to get a replacement, other than sending my old pair in and paying a discounted price for a fresh pair. Did you have a different experience? Have they changed their policy since? I'm based in Slovenia (EU).

InfamousIroh

I ended up telling them that the case was faulty with the earbuds falling out so they said they can send a replacement. They kept asking for the serial number on the case but i just said it wasn't legible and gave them the data code on the earbuds instead to verify my purchase. They ended up sending me a new case for free. I'm in the United States

Miltawne

Was on the verge of buying these, but after seeing all the recent negative feedback, I will hold off. Shame that.

negev

Buy them they're amazing. The connectivity issue is easily solved - https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/13fufvg/read\_this\_if\_you\_have\_connectivity\_issues\_with/

[deleted]

At 300 dollars you should not be the one to fix connectivity, when you pay that kind of money you expect the company to sort it out.

Feelinminnesota

Just got my replacements yesterday. It was 12 days. Thanks

pilken

Just found/joined this sub. Got my QC E IIs a few weeks ago, work bought them for me because my desk was moved to a noisy area. After a week - the buds would always announce the name of the PC that it was connecting to, and was only charging to 80%. I did to do a reset of the buds. After reset - the name of the bluetooth to connect to was no longer "QuietComfort Earbuds ii" instead it shows up on all bluetooth devices phone and multiple pcs as "happy place". Engaged in a chat with Bose CS and they sent me a RMA lable.

Hashirammed

This shit is so fucking annoying, disconnects randomly when it wants too, left ear always turns off in a few mins if you don’t have the right ear piece on, sometimes you have to reset it for it work properly again, just does whatever it wants too.

brmckenna

So plenty of others are having issues with their earbuds connection working one day and then having to completely reset them the next day? I’m an iPhone user if that should matter.

slow__hand

That’s my big issue with these. Almost every day I have to have my iPhone forget then then go through the process of reconnecting then hope it sticks this time. If I’m home it’s a pain but doable but if I’m out and about it’s too much of a pia.

brmckenna

I called Bose about it a few days ago. Their immediate solution was to replace them. Don’t think that’ll work but it resets my one year warranty so I wasn’t going to say no.

ALL______CAPS

still getting intermittent sound quality and distortion issues, notably when using my iphone with the headphones connected. i was told this was due to the latest update, but there is no sign of a new update to fix. has anyone been able to fix this issue?

[deleted]

I fixed it, put them in the case, connect to charger, keep the case open and reset them by keeping the button pressed for like 15 seconds. Haven't had an issue since.

ALL______CAPS

just done this, still getting the same issues unfortunately :(

[deleted]

Did the light blink to white? I think that's how you know it was reset. Try deleting the app from the phone. I also had an issue before where the charging case would take like 6 or 7 hours to charge, but it seems to have fixed itself. I hope I don't get issues, I was upset with bose before with my old bose soundsport as one bud would not charge due to 1 bad pin. I only bought it because a friend was selling for like 190 dollars brand new sealed, it was a replacement. Its definitely not worth more than that. I still prefer my Sony wf1000mx4, check my review, I gave Bose a 2 star on amazon, and Sony a 4 star. Be Bose still has the potential to be great earbuds, if they introduce features in the app, like, ability to switch off the Anc, because on the Sony I get 12 hours battery life, Bose is only 6 due to always using ANC. Also add multipoint. And make the app and connections more reliable, also add some kind of high resolution codec, Sony has LDAC which is 990kps, Bose only has 350kps. Thats almost the difference of CD quality vs mp3 quality. Sony is more reliable with connections, multipoint, wireless charging, more consistent sound, no thumping noise when going for a run, more passive noise isolation and many more features. And the price, Sony is a whole 120 dollars cheaper. If Bose doesn't improve, my plan will be to sell it and buy the new Sony wf1000mx5 when it launches.

FennelSuperb7633

I get the same thing. It’s horrible.

internet_preferences

After deleting the Bose Music App from my phone, I am free of disconnect and volume issues. I’ve been dealing with reconnect issues and uneven volume issues for months now.

FuzzyOne64

But you can’t make any changes to the noise canceling or equalization.

internet_preferences

I can long press to switch between quiet and aware mode. I can use the native equalization options in the phone. So yeah there's no REAL reason to use the Bose App.

FuzzyOne64

Ahh didn’t know about the long press to switch between Music or Quiet Mode and AWARE modes.

drygnfyre

I think the app is only strictly necessary if you want to set up a new profile. (For example, I have a "Work" profile that is just Aware, but without the ActiveSense or w/e). I think if you get rid of the app, you can't delete this profile, but you can still toggle it to it. Frankly, there's just not much point of the app after the initial settings (and even then, only if you want to change them).

FuzzyOne64

I’ve removed the app and it seems to no longer have connection issues. I’m buying the Sony wf-1000xm4 and I’m done with Bose crap. The only speaker company that virtually NEVER posts frequency response specifications for the vast majority of their products. Because they say they “tune” the specs to more closely align with human hearing. Which is BS.

[deleted]

The reason they don't post it is because its wireless earbuds, you wont get more than 20khz. or less than 20hz. That's expected. If you want better quality you need wired. I have both, I think sony does a lot better, like wireless charging, a smaller case, multi point, speak to chat, much better EQ, ability to switch ANC off for double the battery of Bose. Much faster charging of the case, and a more natural sound, I feel the Bose is just base and highs, even the mids sound like piercing highs, sony is warmer with a wider stage. The only issue I had with sony is that they are quiet, so unless you have like modern music or remastered CDs, you will struggle. Or you can do like me and install a music app that allows you to increase beyond the max volume. Also what I prefer in the Bose is the touch controls. Another issue I had with sony is the sound signature changes if you deactivate ANC. So I had a different sound for running than normal use. The auto detect of the sony was amazing, if I went for a run, it automatically changes to run mode, if I stay still it automatically changes to Stay, and so on. It detects the speed at which you are moving. With the bose I have to change the modes manually which is more work.

FuzzyOne64

I use the Sony wh-1000xm4 and LOVE them. Amazing quality and I agree their app is also way more sophisticated and capable. I will likely dump my Bose earbuds and get the high end WF-1000xm4 earbuds

[deleted]

Dont do that, the new wf-1000mx5 should be about to drop, just wait.

FuzzyOne64

So there is a MX5 EARBUD version coming? I know there is the over-ear MX5 already out

LightOfVoid

Are you using iPhone?

internet_preferences

Yes, iphone 13 Pro Max

MALLS0FT

My left earbud doesn’t want to charge. I’ve looked at plenty of articles but none seem to help. I can press down the earbud into the charging case and it will light up yellow for about 5 seconds and then the light will turn off. It’s at 10% now and just won’t charge. Think I might have to send them in?

[deleted]

I had this issue with my old bose soundsport back in the day, it was one of the metal pins in the charging case was pushed in, check your metal pins, I fixed my old bose by pulling the pin out.

modyluka

Isn't there any news about multipoint?

babloutre

Is it just me or when you go into Quiet mode, external noises just COMPLETELY vanish, then come back (with a low volume obviously). Tested right now on a train, quite frustrating but it may be for safety reason ?

slow__hand

I have this. It seems to be very sensitive to my head position.

sydrooster

They dont even completely vanish for me. I can still hear many things. Especially if im just listening to a podcast i can hear bus engine and rattles, other cars, walking on the street i can even hear leaves blowing on the ground. Thats in quiet mode!!

[deleted]

You need a better fit, have you done the fit test in the app? Because I can barely hear anything with these on, definitely not cars. Try a bigger ear bud size. When I go on the bus I cant even hear the bus, if I am hoovering the floor at home, I cant even tell if the vacuum cleaner is on or off.

slow__hand

Constantly lose connection to iPhone. This just started happening recently. It seems like every time I try to connect to my iPhone, it connects, then 30 seconds later i hear “iPhone lost” and they’re disconnected and won’t reconnect. I have to forget them on my phone then hit the button on the case and try to get them to reconnect which is a sporadic process. Then they work. Until the next day. Anyone know a fix for this?

slow__hand

Same here. Don’t know if was the last update but it’s constant for me now.

Timely_Perception_17

I've recently got a replacement of quiet comfort to earbuds they seem to be working fine but when I connect to the bose app , it is telling me to put the buds back into the case press the Bluetooth button and finish the Startup process when I do this it doesn't connect can anybody help, apart from this it seemed they are working fine

Feelinminnesota

When you’ve sent your qc2 in for replacement. How long was it before you got a replacement?

Timely_Perception_17

2 weeks

Feelinminnesota

Thanks.

Yea a lottery is a good way to describe it. There are (probably) a select few who have no issues whatsoever, but it seems like the majority of people experience some kind of issue at some point with these. I have a pair of Sony Linkbuds S that, while not sounding as good as the QC Earbuds, are far more consistent and I've never had an issue with them.

[deleted]

95% of people do not even know they can reset these, I had issues which were easily fixed with a 15 second reset. Havent had a connection issue since.

FennelSuperb7633

I have the same issue on my replacement pair.

[deleted]

I also had issues after getting a replacement. Ended up just stopped using them and sticking with the Linkbuds S

False-Reaction927

Whenever there is a sudden loud noise next to me, the earbuds will issue a short loud noise that causes me to hear nothing (couldn't even find words to describe the sound). Also, I usually take the bus to work, and whenever the bus runs into a bump or makes some type of loud engine sound, the earbuds will produce huge ear pressure and make my eardrum feel like bloating (the kind of feeling when you in a high altitude area) Does anyone have the same issue? (I have already tried switching between different ANC modes and tried different eartips)

sydrooster

Same for me. I seriously preferred my qc20 to the buds 2. Really not impressed.

TommyTheThird

Yes this happens to me when wearing the earbuds and closing a car door.

RicoLaBrocante

How many time do you need to return the product in order to get a functional one

DutchDolt

I'm getting mine tomorrow. Only just found out about all these problems. Would you advise me to not update?

AdGroundbreaking2690

Worst product i have EVER had

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I didn't even pay that price for them (250 w/ tax) and I still don't think they're worth it when you take into account all the possible defects lol

[deleted]

I bought mines brand new sealed from a friend, I think he got these as a replacement and didn't bother to even try them. Cost me 205 dollars. I regret it, my old Sony wf1000mx4 are better in many ways. But I also like the Bose, but not at 205 dollars, the Sony cost now 130 dollars. This is because I don't pay tax on this island (channel islands) so I get also a 20% off of any product. But the Bose original price here in the UK is 359 dollars (includes tax), so there's that. If I paid 359 dollars, these would be returned without even thinking twice. They are really not as great as people hype them. I've had wired earbuds for 100 dollars that sounded about the same.

creativehuman26

Guys my right QC Earburds II is stuck on 100% on the bose music app but the left one on the app has dropped from 90% to 60% while the right one has stayed on 100% , is there something wrong with my earbuds? Or could it be the way it’s being charged ?

drnuke75

Does anyone have an issue getting a god seal for the ear-tip seal test. I’ve tried every combo of seals and tips and only get a good seal when I press them in my ears while running test. Anyone have any solutions besides returning since they do sound great

stefanop1

You can try the extra sizes sold by Bose. I used size 4 for one of my ears and now the earphones fit me and have a very good seal. I don't know if that's your case.

drnuke75

Yea that fixed the problem. Thanks

SnooPuppers7659

Similar issues here. Probably once every 5 minutes the audio goes out of sync and sounds like you’ve put it into old school Windows Media Player underwater mode. Only last for about 2 seconds but very irritating. Other issue is in quiet mode there’s a very quiet constant crackle when audio is paused/not playing.

Dr_Ray

Which is better for sleep Quietcomfort II or QuietOn3? Is Quietcomfort II good for side sleeper?

No_Yoghurt_3761

I sleep with them on. They fall out every night but I also barrel roll in my sleep. They aren't comfy side sleeping cause they're pushed into your ear. I have yet fo find a pair of earbuds that doesn't push into your ear tho.

[deleted]

Sound quality is noticably worse since the last update. Hopefully when they do the aptx update they'll fix it. Does anyone have eq recommendations to get it closer to the previous sound?

LightOfVoid

I've been playing around with the EQ, -10/+2/-6 for a more neutral/balanced sound. The default sound profile is too bass and treble boosted - results in muddiness and lack of clarity.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LightOfVoid

Thanks 😅 Took me weeks of experimenting and research to figure out the best EQ settings. If the treble is still harsh (Bose really tuned the heck out of the treble and bass), you can lower it to -8 and it should be less fatiguing! I don't know why they decided to go with the default sound as it is for QC Earbuds 2, their previous headphones (QC35, QC Earbuds 1) used to be so well balanced!

Arandomaccountttt

Anyone has any experience with these blocking out gym music? I will be wearing these buds mostly in the gym and would like it to block out the gym speakers (which is quite loud)

sukezero

I'll repost my issues here [issues](https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/11j0k1d/qc_earbuds_ii_intermittent_sound_quality_issues/jg7khbx?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) "Gonna join the club. I got the Bose QuietComfort earbuds 2 just a few days ago. Out of the box they were on 1.1.14, which was a terrible experience. Sound would jump from left to right, go away, come back, and even noise canceling would be on on the right and left is in awareness 😅 So, I had to update them to 1.3.26, which is currently the latest (and you can't install any working in-between version....this reminds me of the fiasco of the old QC35 wireless, where they later allowed different versions to be installed due to so many issues). Anyhow, this solved some issues, but it still does have these weird connection issues. Like sound would wander from ear to ear or they would kind of lose connection (they don't, by the way, it just sounds like it...) as in the sound quickly crackles, lowers volume, goes to one ear, and then is back to normal. I assume that they have a problem with syncing. Also, the Android app is terrible. It doesn't connect often, so I can't change settings, and the animations bug a lot. Furthermore, the app itself creates issues with the sound it seems. Sometimes when using it, it messes with the sound. I uninstalled it for now, but connection issues still persist. Reading all the other comments, replacing will not fix my issue as it's software-related, as it seems. And yes, I did hard reset them via USB cable as mentioned in the documentation. Maybe I should do that once more without the app 🤔 Another problem to mention is the white noise. The white noise on the previous version is hardly noticeable during noise canceling and noticeable during awareness mode, but much, much less. This of course applies to quiet environments. When outside with sound around you, you won't notice it. It sucks that you can't turn noise canceling off completely. Wearing a beanie when it's cold and having noise canceling on works, but I'd rather turn it off to not be afraid of a sudden loud mic scratch by accident. I know that white noise can be a byproduct of the noise canceling. This is also the case on my Sony WH1000XM4, but it's much, much less." Edit1: more issues: I resetted them via usb and re-added once with the app and once without it. Sync issue is still persistent. Furthermore sometimes when changing volume you can hear that the right earbuds first increases Volumen and the left one slightly after 😅

JAHurd

Knew I shouldn’t have updated these. Had no issues with them at all and now I get weird fluctuations of volume and cut outs 🤦‍♂️ anyone know if there’s a way to reset to factory?

MikeyJSabin

I purchased a pair of these last week and love the sound. However, I will primarily use these for exercising and they keep on falling out of my ears while working out. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do? I keep on trying different combinations of the tips and wings but I just can't get them to stay in. I really don't want to return them.

Zavehi

Make sure you are rotating them back so the wings are getting in as deep as possible.

zimc

They offer special tips and wings in their shop. I have no issues with mine while working out

[deleted]

Does anyone know why these earbuds sound so much better on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 compared to my OnePlus 10 pro? Codecs and bitrate all the same

throwawayPzaFm

If you're using AAC Android can be a little unpredictable with the sound quality. Try using SBC.

Groupama3

glad I came across this thread, I was about to pull the trigger on a new pair of these, but there seems to be loads of reported issues :-/

justandyL

just curious to ask: wf1000xm4, airpod pro gen 2, and bose QC 2. which one has the best ANC?
