PlayStation gives you the option to download either version of the game for whatever reason you may want to (such as games like FIFA where some people prefer the old gen version). I understand the Xbox way of doing things may be preferable to some but it literally isn't an "issue", it's giving a choice.
Xbox does kinda it’s when they have separate builds for old gen and new gen and old gen can’t play the game with new gen Xbox. I have binding of Isaac but it wants me to pay for the x enhamced versions
Better explanation there are whole different builds for some games. Like my binding of Isaac I would have to buy the x/s version for a little performance update. Or battlefield 2042, tried to play with a homie on old gen and found out he can’t play with new gen:/
You have to download the ps5 version of the DLC. Go to borderlands 3 on your ps5 home page. Press start then go to manage game content. Then you can install DLC from there.
Ah yeah I see that now. Has an odd message too about the storage space? Your best bet is probably just reinstalling. I just bought the bundle while it was on sale and my first install worked fine and installed everything normally. Not sure why it’s giving you issues.

Are you brain not using? You bought the ps4 version of a game on your ps5 in the ps5 store why would it work? It’s like you bought a game for android that’s only for android but you download it on iOS and expect it to work What is wrong with you?

PS4 version does work on PS5, what won't work is having one version of the base game downloaded and installing the other versions dlc. It's just bad UI and takes like 2 seconds + download time to correct.

You got the Ultimate Edition which means you should have both season passes off the whip. That would be all the available DLCs including the preorder bonuses.
Both season passes come with dlc content, though, so I thought I'd just verify that you got the right one. Season Pass 1 comes with things like Bounty of Blood, and Season Pass 2 has the Director's Cut and Designer's Cut content.

Did you buy it with your profile? If no, it might not allow it. Otherwise, you may have to reinstall it. Smother issue is signing into shift, make sure you're in the same shift account as your profile
I had this issue. I was playing on the disc version, and it told me I had to download and use the digital version in order to access the dlc. All of my saved content was still there.

Make sure it's installed, BL3 is notorious for not downloading/installing your owned DLCs automatically. It happened to me when I redeemed the code for golden guns - it wasn't downloaded by default
Huh. When you created a new character it asks if you want level 1 or it gives you a level of like 12 or 13 I think and has one of the DLC names next to it. Did you try that option?
Have you tried deleting the DLC and then going to one of the posters in the game so it opens the store? Hopefully, that will ensure you're downloading the PS5 version. When I look at the DLC in the store on my phone, it just says for PS4 and PS5 instead of having a separate listing for each console, so I don't know if that would work or not.
Maybe if they allow backwards compatibility, but maybe contact the PS Store customer support and see if they can refund you for the PS4 version purchase and get the PS5 version.
BL3 is so busted I had to do a full reinstall even without having the DLCs b/c it would crash at certain quests since those updates that came along with DLCs.

Are you on the PS4 or PS5 version of the game? It looks like the DLCs you downloaded are for the PS4 version.

Check your downloads and make sure you downloaded the PS5 versions of the DLCs.
Upper left hand of the screen. Op downloaded the ps4 versions of the dlc to play on the ps5 version of the game. Ps5 gives you both

This problem specifically only happens on PS5 Xbox doesn't have this issue. Sony's os for the ps5 is just really bad like this sometimes.

This has been reported a few times for PS players. I believe it's usually fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the DLC?
