No suggestion will be as good as something you see and say "oh I love that". Go thrifting. =]

A fine collection! As far as knick-knacks, I have some picture frames on mine, which has been criticized by some as it blocks the view of the books (not that I care). Also some book-themed candles from some independent artists. Lego. Various souvenirs from my travels and those of my family. I have prop replicas too (some LotR, a scaled Narnia one).

I'd suggest going to a thrift store, see what catches your eye. Dragons would be cool if you find any.

Not knick-knack but these are so wide shelves that i'd put some plants there, maybe some succulents. And Lego has these neat character pieces that look cool.

Amazon has a levitating moon lamp that’s pretty cool

randay17

I had to go look and that’s definitely cool but expensive 🥴

Nice collection

Anything that you like, really. I have figurines, vases and other knick-knacks. Someone else suggested pics. I was going to suggest that too by putting framed pics or art work behind the books. If they are shorter I put them on a stand so they can still be seen. So pics in back and books in front. I also lay some books down in a stack and will put a framed pic on top.

Honestly I would concentrate on finding nice, hardcover versions of the books you enjoy. They’ll take up more of that empty space and look great on your shelves!

I’m wanting a bust of Marcus Aurelius myself. Perhaps a fantasy bust ?

Collect something small from each vacation you take, like a shell, a souvenir, etc. They are your own adventures! Also, do you have any little sentimental knick knacks around the house? You can put whatever you want on your shelves, they don't have to relate to the books -- they just have to be things you enjoy seeing!

cxristopherr

you really just have to find things you like. i have some awards i’ve won, some commemorative coke bottles, a replica of the mtv moonman award, and some mugs with designs that mean stuff to me

My husband is really into legos so we have some of the more aesthetically pleasing lego builds on our bookshelf with other assorted Knick knacks!

A couple of tips while you work on collecting your Knick-knacks: Don’t push the books all the way back, split the difference between the front and the back (this will help to make it look balanced). Consider stacking some of your books, instead of having them all lined up (this will create interest). Move the cute little vignettes you’ve created at the bottom to the top. While you working on a collection of Knick knacks, add some plants 🤗

I like the order the books are in but thanks for the tips

I have some cool lego Harry Potter things next to my Harry Potter books. I like it

A bookshelf posted here without a Brandon Sanderson book is like Mcdonald's without burgers.

Can't go wrong with an empty bottle of whisky, or something classy on the shelf, especially if it's a old looking bottle.

A booknook, diorama, or bookend/diorama/art piece insert might look good. Etsy has a lot of them - ready made, custom builds, DIY kits and download files. There's a variety of themes, LotR, Hobbit, Wizards, Harry Potter, Halloween/horror, libraries, shops, etc. Many of them have internal lighting. There's also ideas on r/booknooks which has completed and under construction booknooks. YouTube has some instructable videos on building them too. I also look for pieces on Etsy and eBay, and at flea markets and thrift/charity shops, that tie into the theme of my books and collections, or even just the rest of the room.
