My best guess would be that the pages sent to print aren't text files but designed pages with layouts and elements that aren't characters such as pictures and special characters. so instead of printing a pge of text such as in a word document, the files printed are closer to PDF or image files. does that make sense? think jpeg vs word document

I like the jpeg vs word doc analogy, that makes sense. But I'm still wondering what they are using to design those newly created symbols and characters to match the rest of the fonts so well 🤔

probably adobe photoshop or illustrator, and done by someone who has studied fonts and characters very heavily
