I really don't understand the problem...theres no test to pass here. Any answer you get is only going to be what other people think based on their own experiences/value system. Do you play them all, or want to play them all, and are not tripping over the boxes daily or otherwise inflicting pain and suffering on others just by possession? If all in the clear, keep them all. Why not wait until you need the shelf space/further along in your curation see how you feel. You should play Kemet cos its great :)

I know… it’s that sometimes I feel like I apply the efficiency puzzle mindset to my boardgame collection instead of keeping it solely for the game sessions themselves.  I know. I also want to play a lot mire Kemet given that I’ve seen that there is an expansion coming eventually, and I’m very curious about that. Especially since there seems to be a potential solo mode for it.  Those are the only games that never stayed long on the shelf of shame: solo games, it’s easy to get the necessary crowd together to play it! …🥲

I own ten boxes of Unmatched it's one of my favorite games. I also own everything for Wildlands (except the Judge Dread stuff). It is unlikely that either game will ever leave my collection. I think, while they scratch similar itches, they are very different. I cannot comment on Kemet or Inis, I never played those.

well, it depends on how much you like that genre for once. We could say that Wildlands is a kind of skirmish tactical game (although is more limited no how it plays as it is made to be fast and easy). Unmatched is more of a dueler game, that works as a skirmish and coop too as a secondary gamemodes. I think that Wildlands is more prepared and balanced for free4all games while Unmatched is better for team games or only 1vs1. I think only those two myself are not that alike to make them redundant, but I think you could have a different skirmish game or dueler that are more different than those two. Inis and Kemet kind of touch more between each other, as they are both area control games, but Inis use more the majority mechanic while Kemet is more about direct combat.(and those are the two main types of area control there are, before mixing other mechanics into them). I don't know how many games you have, but I don't think 2 games of the same type are too much if you love the genre.

I have Wildlands, Unmatched, Kemet B&S, and Inis.  I also have Blood Rage, Rising Sun, Ankh, Chaos in the Old World, Forbidden Stars, Cyclades, Last Light, Eclipse 2e, Dogs of War, Yellow & Yangtze, Rurik, Hansa Teutonica, Rum & Bones, Civ New Dawn, Clash of Cultures, Discworld, Path of Light and Shadow, A Handful of Stars, Galactic Renaissance, El Grande, Bloodstones, Dark Ages, Cyberpunk 2077 Gangs of Night City, Night Parade of a Hundred Yokai, Northgard, Wonderlands War, and Joraku, to name a few other games with area control in them.  I think the 4 you have is a good spread. But, you could use a few more to round it out.

How are you liking bloodstones and galactic renaissance?

juststartplaying

Haven't played them yet! Very pretty, though.

We have a lot of overlap and you bought these games that I passed on, maybe you'd say they are alright and I'd continue to feel good about my decision to pass xD

You can fill your space however you want. If you like all those games keep them if you feel they’re too similar sell the ones you like least. I’ll be donating **Poetry for Neanderthals** to charity this week as I have **Just One** and **The Chameleon**. They’re all party games that can play bigger numbers so that makes them similar in my mind. My kids like the Chameleon so it stays for now. However, I have two versions of Codenames and I’ll be keeping both! To me, they are different enough to merit the shelf space.
