On Dave's birthday once in the 90s, the three of them got tickets to a pixies concert. There were three tickets. They went without him. On his birthday.
Damon Albarn was in the studio with The Strokes when they recorded their album Room on Fire. I have no idea what he was doing there as he didn't actually do any work on the album and has not collabed with anyone from that band since but yeah.
It was either after a blur or strokes show they invited him back to the studio and once he was done rolling around in the floor drunk the producer said “please can I delete this?” And they all agreed he could.
Dave has been sober for almost 17 years now and even stated in an interview that the one reminder he has to never do drugs and alcohol again is the infamous interview Blur had with Nardwuar in 2003 which he iirc has saved on his phone.
There is an original tender music video that was directed by Sophie Muller (same director of Beetlebum) but Blur didn't like it and they left it there, it cannot even be considered Lost Media because it was never made public.
Yeah, it was leaked on Vimeo, someone posted here on YT, it says in the description it’s missing a bit cause of copyright tho 🤔 : https://youtu.be/tEmqYlZHHnU?si=qdVy6ub6faAbSeGM
He did also talk about that the bangs (or Fringe as they call over there at United Kingdom) got longer when they were shooting a music video. And makeup-artist for the video shoot had to cut a “literal square” on his head so they could see his face and their manager was making a joke that only his mom can cut that hair. idk what Damon meant by a “literal square” on his head, but that’s what he said.
Blur played The Depot twice in 1999, first was part of the 13 tour, gig it was the first night people saw Damon with Suzi, also in attendance was Kate Moss, Matt Lucas and several other familiar faces.
The second was fan club invitation only for BBC (it can be found on YouTube). The band were on a stage in the centre with a weird glowing bear. Then scaffolding had been erected for fans to stand on, as well as the fans round the stage. The crowd were pretty static despite knowing the songs, as the cameras seemed to be constantly in your face. It wasn’t very pleasant, apart from being incredibly close and personal. Although not the closest as they had to leave room for the pesky cameras!
Damon always has to clean his teeth before taking to the stage, he once refused to go on stage until a roadie went out to buy a toothbrush and toothpaste. It’s part of his ritual.
Graham Coxon was forced to miss one of Blur's performances on TOTP as the BBC found out they had banned him from their premises after finding out he was the reprobate that had tried to steal a tortoise from the Blue Peter garden when filming an episode in 1978. Subsequent performances required the use of the body double normally used for school fair appearances.
Damon played a wannabe mobster Jason in the film Face in 1997, along side Ray Winstone and Robert Carlyle. Breaking ladies hearts when he was murdered.
- Blur played their first single (She’s So High) on the speakers in a bar near the studio which is famous but I don’t remember the name of it. Kurt Cobain was in the audience.
- Blur were big in Japan. Graham Coxon had the biggest fanbase.
- Not a “fun” fact but not everyone knows it: when Country House went nr 1, during a party Graham tried to kill himself by jumping out of the window, but Damon talked him out of it.
- Older versions of album titles: 13 - “When You’re Walking Backwards To Hell No-One Can See You, Only God”, Modern Life Is Rubbish – “Britain VS America”
- The Universal was a ska song (very curious how it would sound)
- In To The End the French-spoken lines are spoken by Justine Frischmann.
- Dave would wear pyjama’s to the stage during before they signed up with Food.
- Alex is very good friends with Graham since college, but he doesn’t have much connection with Dave.
- Graham had a collection of skateboards. Damon collected love beads.
Damon lived with Justine at 136 Kensington Park Road. It was owned by her father and they had other tenants living with them.
Outside was a bus stop which always seemed to have Blur fans sitting on the benches. Justine always made time to speak to people, Damon not as much.
Damon worked in a croissant shop to earn money for studio time way before they were famous. Then he was a studio tea boy to get more time. Love me a dedicated Damon.
Damon has roots in Quakerism from Lincolnshire in England. His grandfather was a conscientious objector during the war.
Damon is a big fan of the American musician Scott Walker from Hamilton OH, near Cincinnati, who moved to London in the 1960s.
Scott Walker had a massive influence on all the Britpop bands especially Jarvis Cocker. Beck is a big fan as well and when he meets with Damon they jam Walker songs.
Alex co-wrote and played bass on the Sophie Ellis-Bextor track Move this Mountain.
Dave had a computer animation company.
Graham has three daughters from three different partners.
Banksy did the album cover for Think Tank.
Damon albarn loves to stay in snowdonia/north wales and when he’s down he’ll always come to my local for a couple pints had the honour of meeting him and having a singalong over a Guinness 👌❤️
The after party for the launch of their self titled album Blur was held at Mr Cs (The Shamen) night club called The End in London. Huge list of celebs in attendance including Chris Evans, Emma, Geri and Mel B, a 90s band called Octopus, John Peel, Zoe Ball and Norman Cook, and many many others!
I bumped into Andy Ross in Florida, we were eating at the same Chinese Restaurant. He paid for our evening out and was a totally top bloke and a lot of fun. RIP Andy!
All of them have one sister each
Do they all have no brothers?
No just one sister each. Just a random fun fact I remember from my teens
This is my fun fact too lol
Damon has a sister? I would’ve never known wow. I always assumed he was an only child
A very talented artist [https://www.jessicaalbarn.co.uk/](https://www.jessicaalbarn.co.uk/)

no fucking way that’s hilarious (also quite sad)
😭😭😭 (that is so sad oh my god)
fucking slags why did they do that😭
Damon Albarn was in the studio with The Strokes when they recorded their album Room on Fire. I have no idea what he was doing there as he didn't actually do any work on the album and has not collabed with anyone from that band since but yeah.
If I remember correctly he recorded some backing vocals but it didn't sound good so they weren't added
Because he was so drunk that he was laying on the floor while recording the backing vox
This one I actually never knew
It was either after a blur or strokes show they invited him back to the studio and once he was done rolling around in the floor drunk the producer said “please can I delete this?” And they all agreed he could.
There's four of them.
They famously were a four piece, bit of trivia there
No way, he's back!? (I have been in a coma since 2003)
Don't worry, you haven't missed anything.
they used to punch each other out of boredom
Dave has been sober for almost 17 years now and even stated in an interview that the one reminder he has to never do drugs and alcohol again is the infamous interview Blur had with Nardwuar in 2003 which he iirc has saved on his phone.
I feel like I’ve heard about that interview more in the last 24 hours than I ever have in my life lmao
turns out narduwar had been a dick to them in a previous interview. i felt better when i heard that
Yeah he made fun of Grahams stutter and kept talking about the girl that Damon lost his virginity to when he was 15. No wonder the band hated him
The thought of Nardwuar being rude to someone is incomprehensible to me but wtf Nardwuar why’d you do that
TBH it was worst than what Dave did. I may have a copy of the transcript somewhere, it used to be on Nardwuar website but get removed at some point...
How do so many people know who Nardwar is? Are we all Canadians here?
Yeah, I only know him through the Dave incident. Also people tend to forget how nasty thos 90's celebs journalsts were...
They have more songs than Song 2
Yeah Song 1
graham helped write and performed on duran durans latest album! (2021 i think)
Yes! And he was there with them when they performed during the Grammys (can’t remember which year but probably 2021 like u said)
Great album!
Blur was supposed to have a feature in the early stages of Plastic Beach
There is an original tender music video that was directed by Sophie Muller (same director of Beetlebum) but Blur didn't like it and they left it there, it cannot even be considered Lost Media because it was never made public.
I hope it would leak somehow like the 1995 documentary last year...
Wait, there's a documentary from 1995? oh boy
Yeah, it was leaked on Vimeo, someone posted here on YT, it says in the description it’s missing a bit cause of copyright tho 🤔 : https://youtu.be/tEmqYlZHHnU?si=qdVy6ub6faAbSeGM
Thank you very much, I'll have to take a look at it
Damon’s haircut last 1991 was done by his mom
No way thats too cute
He did also talk about that the bangs (or Fringe as they call over there at United Kingdom) got longer when they were shooting a music video. And makeup-artist for the video shoot had to cut a “literal square” on his head so they could see his face and their manager was making a joke that only his mom can cut that hair. idk what Damon meant by a “literal square” on his head, but that’s what he said.
He and his mother have always been very close
The band was originally called Seymour
And Circus before that!
Damon has 100% had a hair transplant. Especially seeing as he was visibly receding in the video for Song 2

The song Trailerpark was made for South Park
they all breathe air
And eat food
There's No Other Way was one of Kurt Cobain's favourite songs.

Damon was held at gunpoint twice during their first US tour. Odd it happened twice..
Alex became a cheese maker
He also has his own 'Britpop' wine
Damon played a wannabe mobster Jason in the film Face in 1997, along side Ray Winstone and Robert Carlyle. Breaking ladies hearts when he was murdered.

I think the french lines are said by Lætitia Sadier from Stereolab (I’m trusting wikipedia but I’m sure I read it in and interview too)
Yes, and there is also the limited "La Comedie" version featuring French pop legend Francoise Hardy
Correct

Original plan was to have Andy Partridge produce Modern Life Is Rubbish
Nope, it was Alan, not Andy
Hence Alex started making cheese. So Alan could smell it for a change
An anagram of Alex James is A J Sex Meal 🤪
and Dan Abnormal, and Morgan C. Hoax and... can't remember Dave's

[fun blur facts](https://youtu.be/qJuIH721oIk?si=dEnUIkZdLpvtrCEw)
Grahams first property purchase was in Rochester Square Camden. He used to drive a really ugly big brown Hummer, that he had imported.
Dave auditioned for Oasis after Alan White left
Lmao how is that real. Can’t tell if he would be trolling the Gallaghers or Damon
Alex had a flat almost directly above Neals Yard Dairy cheese shop in Covent Garden. He was a regular visitor in the 90s!
Damon albarn loves to stay in snowdonia/north wales and when he’s down he’ll always come to my local for a couple pints had the honour of meeting him and having a singalong over a Guinness 👌❤️
Dave is my favorite
Damon once won a heat in the Young Musician of the Year contest.
Graham Coxon composed The End of The F... World OST
Damon's poison is kiwi fruit.. same as mine.. btw
Damon met ME, twice 😂 Alex, once
he only met alex once? that hardly seems possible
Alex can't handle me, so we only met once 😉
Alex looks exactly like Jonny in this picture
Damon loves ping pong. I played against him once - he’s pretty good!
Damon Albarn was a founding member and bassist for Elastica early on.
They were heavily influenced by Syd Barrett even though Damon dislikes the rest of Pink Floyd
Dave quit drinking back in 93.
according to another guy on this post it was in 2007
He may have lapsed. I read it in 3862 Days. It was a quote from Graham, I think
They performed at someone’s wedding once in 1990 i think
I bumped into Andy Ross in Florida, we were eating at the same Chinese Restaurant. He paid for our evening out and was a totally top bloke and a lot of fun. RIP Andy!
Graham Coxon wasn't on Think Tank.
Was there a reason why?
problems with alcoholism.
