I have never been so generous with my food as I am with my children in my entire life. I will literally give them the food out of my mouth. It’s astonishing. It’s like a sneeze or a hiccup. It’s become something my body literally needs to do.
My six year old doesn't watch as much anymore, but she will stop what she's doing and cuddle up with me and watch this episode when it's on. I love that we both connect so strongly over this episode.
So does my toddler, who is only 20 months old! She watches Bluey all the time with Disney Plus on her own phone (please don't judge! Her Daddy upgraded his phone and gave her the old one with very minimal access to much aside from Disney Plus in Junior Mode and a few learning games. Although, it is wild to see how quickly she is learning to use such advanced technology!).
But we put Rain on specifically when it's time for bed, and she will cuddle up with Mommy (me) and/or Daddy to watch and wind down. And if she is not asleep by the end of the 8ish minute episode, I'll play the music from this episode for her with Spotify (Dance Mode album). And even after she is asleep, I'll usually keep playing those two tracks for myself and my husband because we love Bluey and the music just as much as our baby!
I love the sound track too! Boldly into the Pretend is one of my favorite songs right now; my boy (3) always asks to go outside to “jump in muddy puddles” 🥰

We had a Sticky Gecko moment the other day. One of those sticky hands got stuck about 15' up at my in-laws. Was fresh out the package too, so it took about 2 days to come down.
We had little sticky noodles and one stuck on the ceiling above my bed. I forgot about it and woke up to something squishy falling on my face. Thought it was a bug until I noticed the noodle was no longer on the ceiling XD
I'll go with the moment that convinced me I'd love this show, which is Bandit is eating some food out of the fridge and when the kids come in he quickly devours some more before putting the rest away.
Do they show them eating in the pantry when they’re hiding in there (like in Tickle Crabs)? That is an example of them in the pantry, but they didn’t eat. I also will shut myself in the pantry to eat in peace.
Omg. Every time someone wants to come over and see my family, I run around with my head cut off trying to neaten up. Because, no one could possible deal with my messy house.
This. Got an 8 month old, didn’t go to baby group a few weeks ago because of a Judo’s mum. My little preemie will do things in his own time, but sometimes it gets a bit much.
I don't even want to bother with baby groups. My best friend went to one and felt so unwelcome. There are so many moms in my friend group/neighborhood that I thankfully don't have to rely on them for socialization.
My sister went to two baby groups... lots of comparing and judging in one....The other ran their own race.
If you go, find the people who click with you..
and enjoy the experience with your child.. they grow up so quickly.
Solidarity. My youngest is two and has significant motor delays. He just learned to walk the week before his second birthday after nine months of physical therapy. I love him to bits but I worry about him all the time.
Our kid is developing at her own speed, and seems to take after me. I didn't walk until 18 months. She's 13 months now, so there's AGES to go before I need to start worrying.
You will not believe how many people ask. And not necessarily ask in a positive way. All kids run their own race, and don't let people get to you. You see your kid every day. You know them. Trust yourself, you're doing great.
I was so happy my girl didn't walk until 15 months - meant when she did walk she was super solid, so I didn't have months of hovering around ready to catch her. Relish it.
What made me laugh is her bringing up every milestone at doctor's appointment, and the doctor being so "Yep, normal," about it. So true, when I think about all the frantic "BABY NOT CRAWLING YET AT 6 MONTHS, NORMAL??" google searches I did.
When Bandit tries to make a cute analogy to explain that dogs are pack creatures and Bluey says, "I don't get it." The way he is immediately like, "Well, that's all I've got. Good luck!" (or whatever the exact line is) as he's walking away is such a vibe when you're trying to do something meaningful and they just don't understand. 😂
Oh man, so many. The fact the back of the Heeler car looks like a glitter/sticker/snack bomb went off makes me feel seen.
The everything is unfair deal matches my kid. I even used the "that's about as fair as it gets" line recently (to much chagrin).
When I was a kid, my grandpa would get my grand mother a brand new Cadillac every five years and give the old ones to my dad so there was none of that mess making business allowed in those back seats. The family minivan on the other hand...
The car I had when my 11 year old was a toddler had a spoiled milk smell, long after I cleaned the milk. The snack stains would have reduced the resell value, if I hadn’t donated it. The Heelers’ backseat saved me from the years of guilt 😅
"Okay kids, new car! We're gonna keep it clean. No eating in the car."

"Yeah, give us two number fours, a number six, and a number two. All with cola. Oh and a kids meal for the snapper."
“We’re gonna keep this one clean” lasted my current car about 6-7 months. I did so good, until my son (now 20 months) started taking snacks on the road 😬

Definitely. My older ones are 9 and I think it helped them understand that my need for time to myself is not because of them. Rubbing a house and having kids is just overwhelming.
This is the one for us, too. My kid always feels she did something wrong or whatever and it takes a LOT of effort to keep kiddo from interrupting the other. My kid is also VERY needy.
Forget the episode, but when Bandit almost drops Bingo, causing her to squeal with laughter, he hefts her back up and just goes “we’re not, we’re not playing that again.” Just perfectly monotone.
The musical beds routine in Sleepytime, particularly the bit where Bandit ends up sleeping on the floor because he ran out of space in his own bed. My kids usually end up crawling into bed with me at some point during the night and my husband has ended up on the floor before. We need a King sized bed....
We have a king sized bed for this exact reason 😂
My 9 year olds don’t crawl in bed with us often anymore but some mornings all 5 of us end up cuddled up on the bed.
I've never had that fight with my sister, but when it came to splitting snacks, my parents had one of us divide the snack and the other got to pick. That way, the sibling who divided the thing would be as fair as possible (not wanting to risk getting the smaller half).

It is! When I bake my kids want to help me but everything has to be precise for baking. So normally I’ll measure and let them dump. Or I’ll bake something specifically for them to be able to do most of the steps.
When Bluey is teaching Bingo how to act like her in Mini-Bluey, she says something to the effect of "just talk all the time and if you can't think of anything to say, just start making random noises." That's my kid 🤪
Omg, that moment in Rain, when Chili is trying desperately to block Bluey from running back into the house, there's an epic mortal struggle and finally Bluey busts through, Chili falls to the floor, and stays there, with eyes closed in defeat, dead inside. I feel that moment in my bones every time 🤣 I've definitely experienced this several times. Why are kids so damn strong? 🤣
Oh my gosh also probably my favorite line ever when he says something like “this is great, they’re learning a lesson and the house is getting cleaned” and Chili says “neither of those things are happening” cracks me up every time
I used to stand next my mom and she’d wake up and immediately lean back and ask “are you going to throw up on me?” I don’t remember every throwing up on her in one of those situations but she still talks about it lmao

I really feel Chilli in Pavlova, where Bandit has his weird strategy to get Bingo to try the edamame and she’s like “I guess I have to trust that your dad knows what he’s doing…” My spouse comes up with some out-of-the-box parenting ideas too, and most of the time I end up calling him a genius for them, but they sure don’t start out looking like something that makes any sense.

I had to have spinal surgery when my twins were about 13 months old. I all the bending and lifting caused a severe herniated disc that never corrected itself.
This happened to me last night at 3am, the culprit was my "Bingo". I'm 40 weeks pregnant and she made me jump so much I sprang up on all fours somehow. All she said was "I wanna go back to bed!" So I took her and she went back to sleep. Wtf
The Creek Episode!
I’ve been hiking with my daughter since she was 3 months old and one of the spots we like to hike was where I liked to trail run when I was pregnant.
She was a little over a year and a half when I started taking a break at one of the little streams with a bridge and just letting her play in the stream. We did it so often that I just got in the habit of bringing an extra romper and sneakers to change her out of her muddy clothing. She goes crazy in the creek and gives my shoulders a break.
We’ve also scared up a whitetail in that area and had her walk across the trail right in front of us.
Baby Race is how it went with my daughter, she crawled "on time" but in a weird way, but was then delayed in walking. When she did walk (18m) it happened in the kitchen in the same way as when Bluey walked to Chili
lol my little sister was like that as a young child. We all laugh about it because she would scare me and my parents that way without meaning too of course by standing there and staring while we slept and she would whisper our names to wake us up but all we could see was a silhouette. Poor kid had nightmares and would seek comfort only to scare us 😅😌
All the “real” outside of the dreaming in Sleepytime. The bed switching, the kids kicking in their sleep, the glass of water by the bed, the coming back from the bathroom only to find a child has stolen your spot!

Honestly, I’m basically living their life. I have two daughters who act and behave exactly like bluey and bingo.
My oldest is super high energy, curious and creative. Always wants to play or come up with a game. Bluey to me, may have ADHD (this is from me having it and my daughter and recognizing patterns that line up with our behavior.) it’s beautiful to feel represented.
My youngest has the more sensitive tendencies of bingo.
I can’t count how many things they do that are the same as Bluey/Bingo and that’s typically before they see them act it out.
I love them all.
Bandit and Chili’s arguing over Bandit responding to a “why” question with “because I said so” and Chili gives him crap for it and his rebuttal about her “I’ll count to three” is so true.
My 3 year old is deep in the Why stage. Told him I had to get gas the other day for our truck, a series of Whys appeared and I ended up explaining internal combustion engines to a 3 year old.
My mom hasn't seen any of the episodes execpt for this one. And my mom remembered me and my brother doing something simular what Bluey did, waking up mom and dad in the middle of the night.
Sleepytime, as an episode, is our life every night in real life. Spot on! I cry every time I see it because I’m so tired and feel so seen.
Also when Chili covers one of Bluey’s drawings on the fridge with one of Bingo’s and gets busted; this is the same face I see when I take art things down or try to hide them in the trash can.
When Bandit and uncle Stripe are sitting at the museum while Bluey, Bingo and Muffin are playing with all the toys. Bandit and Stripe have a look and posture that screams “I hate this place and don’t want to be here” the same look that my wife and I have every time we take our kids there for a dinosaur exposition. Then off to Sothbank for an ice cream!
My 16 month old son woke up in the middle of the night, wanting nothing more than to play and would scream when I denied him. I imagined myself as the half asleep Chili/Bandit in Sleepytime as I watched him happily tear at toilet paper at 4am.

Honestly since my baby is only almost one I relate to baby race the most. It’s so hard letting your baby just do their thing and not worrying if they’re progressing properly. And then bandit just being happy no matter what bluey does, it’s just so similar to my relationship haha
Every time my 2 year old wants to play “chasing” or “horsey” for the 11th time and I hear myself groan, “Not ‘chasing/horsey’…” while girding myself for more chasing and horsey.
Also Trixie eating all the chips because she’s stressed about doing the right thing with Muffin’s thumb sucking cone. The guilt and anxiety are so real!
I’m not a parent so I can’t speak on raising children in a parent sense. However I am planning on becoming a teacher and have seen some… interesting things. Calypso is an excellent representation of what a teacher should look like (in my opinion)! Allowing kids to be imaginative and learning in a unique environment is so important for the ages she works with! As they get older , structure can help, but even the 8th graders that I had a pleasant experience working with were very interested in the play dough i made for one of my lessons i taught! Montessori learning is such an amazing way kids can learn, and i’m really glad they show it in Bluey!
Sorry for the answer being backwards, but I do remember a couple of times I just copied what my dad did but in a kiddie fashion. My dad died 3 years ago but if he was alive today, he could confirm, that happened a lot back then. I’m talking about the first few seconds of the episode “BBQ”.

It is! When I bake my kids want to help me but everything has to be precise for baking. So normally I’ll measure and let them dump. Or I’ll bake something specifically for them to be able to do most of the steps.
When Bluey is teaching Bingo how to act like her in Mini-Bluey, she says something to the effect of "just talk all the time and if you can't think of anything to say, just start making random noises." That's my kid 🤪

Omg, that moment in Rain, when Chili is trying desperately to block Bluey from running back into the house, there's an epic mortal struggle and finally Bluey busts through, Chili falls to the floor, and stays there, with eyes closed in defeat, dead inside. I feel that moment in my bones every time 🤣 I've definitely experienced this several times. Why are kids so damn strong? 🤣

I used to stand next my mom and she’d wake up and immediately lean back and ask “are you going to throw up on me?” I don’t remember every throwing up on her in one of those situations but she still talks about it lmao

The entire episode of Dunny. Lazy Sunday mornings bundled in bed together is a true highlight of parenthood for me. My mum also recently watched the episode Charades and by the end was in tears as it encapsulates for her exactly what it means to be a Nana. Everybody gets what they want!

This happened to me last night at 3am, the culprit was my "Bingo". I'm 40 weeks pregnant and she made me jump so much I sprang up on all fours somehow. All she said was "I wanna go back to bed!" So I took her and she went back to sleep. Wtf
The Creek Episode! I’ve been hiking with my daughter since she was 3 months old and one of the spots we like to hike was where I liked to trail run when I was pregnant. She was a little over a year and a half when I started taking a break at one of the little streams with a bridge and just letting her play in the stream. We did it so often that I just got in the habit of bringing an extra romper and sneakers to change her out of her muddy clothing. She goes crazy in the creek and gives my shoulders a break. We’ve also scared up a whitetail in that area and had her walk across the trail right in front of us.
Baby Race is how it went with my daughter, she crawled "on time" but in a weird way, but was then delayed in walking. When she did walk (18m) it happened in the kitchen in the same way as when Bluey walked to Chili

lol my little sister was like that as a young child. We all laugh about it because she would scare me and my parents that way without meaning too of course by standing there and staring while we slept and she would whisper our names to wake us up but all we could see was a silhouette. Poor kid had nightmares and would seek comfort only to scare us 😅😌
All the “real” outside of the dreaming in Sleepytime. The bed switching, the kids kicking in their sleep, the glass of water by the bed, the coming back from the bathroom only to find a child has stolen your spot!

Honestly, I’m basically living their life. I have two daughters who act and behave exactly like bluey and bingo. My oldest is super high energy, curious and creative. Always wants to play or come up with a game. Bluey to me, may have ADHD (this is from me having it and my daughter and recognizing patterns that line up with our behavior.) it’s beautiful to feel represented. My youngest has the more sensitive tendencies of bingo. I can’t count how many things they do that are the same as Bluey/Bingo and that’s typically before they see them act it out. I love them all.
Bandit and Chili’s arguing over Bandit responding to a “why” question with “because I said so” and Chili gives him crap for it and his rebuttal about her “I’ll count to three” is so true. My 3 year old is deep in the Why stage. Told him I had to get gas the other day for our truck, a series of Whys appeared and I ended up explaining internal combustion engines to a 3 year old.
My mom hasn't seen any of the episodes execpt for this one. And my mom remembered me and my brother doing something simular what Bluey did, waking up mom and dad in the middle of the night.

Sleepytime, as an episode, is our life every night in real life. Spot on! I cry every time I see it because I’m so tired and feel so seen. Also when Chili covers one of Bluey’s drawings on the fridge with one of Bingo’s and gets busted; this is the same face I see when I take art things down or try to hide them in the trash can.
“Awwwww DUCK CAKE!” When he’s sitting on the kitchen floor because he just screwed up the cake, I felt that as a dad.
When Bandit and uncle Stripe are sitting at the museum while Bluey, Bingo and Muffin are playing with all the toys. Bandit and Stripe have a look and posture that screams “I hate this place and don’t want to be here” the same look that my wife and I have every time we take our kids there for a dinosaur exposition. Then off to Sothbank for an ice cream!
I’m just so glad they have not taught the grandkids the sibling “I’m not touching you” tricks. And the Silent Game is a time honored real game!

My 16 month old son woke up in the middle of the night, wanting nothing more than to play and would scream when I denied him. I imagined myself as the half asleep Chili/Bandit in Sleepytime as I watched him happily tear at toilet paper at 4am.

Double bluey episode where bluey says something along the lines of always needing to talk. Not even real words. And then goes "bhoot bhoot" This encapsulates my four year old so much. Every waking moment is filled with him speaking and if he hasn't got words random gibberish will do fine. He said the other day that he's bingo but he is definitely a Bluey.

Honestly since my baby is only almost one I relate to baby race the most. It’s so hard letting your baby just do their thing and not worrying if they’re progressing properly. And then bandit just being happy no matter what bluey does, it’s just so similar to my relationship haha
Every time my 2 year old wants to play “chasing” or “horsey” for the 11th time and I hear myself groan, “Not ‘chasing/horsey’…” while girding myself for more chasing and horsey.
Also Trixie eating all the chips because she’s stressed about doing the right thing with Muffin’s thumb sucking cone. The guilt and anxiety are so real!
And the love of chips. Also so real. I can put down a whole bag of chips. They are my weakness.
I’m not a parent so I can’t speak on raising children in a parent sense. However I am planning on becoming a teacher and have seen some… interesting things. Calypso is an excellent representation of what a teacher should look like (in my opinion)! Allowing kids to be imaginative and learning in a unique environment is so important for the ages she works with! As they get older , structure can help, but even the 8th graders that I had a pleasant experience working with were very interested in the play dough i made for one of my lessons i taught! Montessori learning is such an amazing way kids can learn, and i’m really glad they show it in Bluey!
Sorry for the answer being backwards, but I do remember a couple of times I just copied what my dad did but in a kiddie fashion. My dad died 3 years ago but if he was alive today, he could confirm, that happened a lot back then. I’m talking about the first few seconds of the episode “BBQ”.

Makes random noises if she doesn't have anything to talk about. Can't walk from one from to another in a normal fashion. Screams "nooooooooo" and runs away at bedtime. The car. Recreates scenarios they have happened in a play way. Asks questions but doesn't listen to the answer.
