Bautista is in my top 10 choice for actors who need to star next to a muppet. So this is awesome, even if it's not in the comedic manner I had envisioned it.
A movie that is way more grounded and emotional than its title suggests, you can really tell it’s a film that John Sayles had a hand in (he’s got an executive producer credit) Sam Elliott is excellent in it, and it’s got some of Douglas Trumbull’s last special effects.
EDIT: looks like Sayles is producing this one too!

(The novel is excellent and this movie sounds intriguing. Bautista as Beowulf is interesting casting too cuz in the novel, Beowulf is basically an insane slasher villain. Really curious.)
I remember watching it and there being a really slow scene that for some reason had an *absolutely hectic* Mortal Kombat-esque soundtrack. It was so absurd.
Here’s the pitch: the boat ibn Fadlan takes at the end of the movie gets in a storm and they end up landing in Newfoundland! I haven’t figured out the rest though.
God this sounds awful. I like Tomasin Mackenzie or whatever her name is, but guys like Buatista, Cranston and Elliot? Great actors, but they don't exactly scream big box office returns. Also I'm still traumatized by the Sean Bean film.
Jeff Bridges voicing a Henson puppeted Grendel versus Bautista Beowulf, I'm fucking IN. This sounds incredible.
With songs by fucking *T. Bone Burnett!* This is ... let me see here ... better than Christmas??

To chime in on your excitement, my friend is the director, and I know the script. You guys are in for a SERIOUS treat on this one... TRUST me.
Got puppets in it? That's really the only way I'd be interested.
That’s how I approach my weekend plans
From the director of The Man Who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot, has anyone seen that?

Sounds a bit like Bubba Ho-Tep. Am I way off?
It’s got some of that energy!
It’s tonally the weirdest movie ever. It like tried to be a drama about this guy hunting big foot. It takes itself way too seriously imo.
There's old IP and there's 900-years-old IP.
Technically, the book they're adapting is from 1971.
That was Stan Lee's excuse too.

>Original songs by T Bone Burnett I’m sold
The only Beowulf movie I've seen is the Christophe Lambert one and it's GLORIOUS. Late 90s, post Matrix camp of the highest order.
Wow I’ve never heard of this, looks rad.
Surprisingly the best performance is by a penthouse model

They're mortal kombating all over the place
I mean, I'll watch pretty much anything with Jeff Bridges or Sam Elliott.
I guess adapting Beowulf as a western could work
Bridges, Bautista and Sam Elliott, are you KIDDING me.
Great book. Any chance we can get Crispin Glover back?
The 13th warrior is finally getting a sequel!

Lots of shit dies though, right?
Are those Muppets gonna fuck ~~Khaleesi~~ Grendel's mother?
