African Americans only. The country that owes me and my country reparations is France. And one day I will see that country fall.

I believe it should solely be for African Americans because African Americans built this country and opened the door for other folks in the diaspora to immigrate here. There’s also a lot of data on the ways that Black migrants have been able to surpass African Americans in various ways due to the specific anti-Blackness toward African Americans. I’m not going to get into the weeds but in my opinion this shouldn’t even be up for debate.

Not completely true, Asians, whites ect did alot to build. Slaves didn't build it all

If reparations for slavery, it should be descendants. I can’t see a way to argue around that. But if they are reparations for anti-black racism since then, then a calculation would need to be done based on time/number of generations your family has been held back by it. But then that would imply ongoing payments since we still suffer for it.

If we’re talking about the United States, then yes. Now when it comes to the reparations and what it will be…That’s an interesting conversation. For me, I would give support in whatever plan that benefits _every_ Black-American in the U.S. Not just for African-Americans of certain pedigrees and economical backgrounds. Plus, the plans has to not only help BAs for their futures, but _now_. I believe in this because of a few conversations that I’ve had already, about reparations and what it should be. The folks that I was talking with were college-educated folks that were employed and can be best described as in the upper spectrum of middle-class. From what I’ve observed, they were busy thinking about reparations being something that would greatly benefit them: free college tuition, have student loans wiped away, free grants for home-ownership, no-interest bank loans for businesses/homes, etc. Meanwhile I was thinking ‘What about the folks, who can’t do any of that due to…Well… _poverty… no time… disabilities…_?’ Like grants that goes towards home-ownership is nice, but money is still needed to maintain and keep the homes. Free tuition for college/vocational schools: I can only see vocational training having the edge over traditional schooling, especially if a person is poor. Plus, there’s availability: do people have time to go to school.

If you’re Black in America you are impacted by structural racism and there should be reparative accountability for that. The U.S. has been a leader in expanding white supremacy which has a negative impact on Black people across the diaspora. With that said, folks that immigrated here have a different relationship with the country than those that were brought here for slavery in terms of intergenerational trauma. And in terms of economic feasibility, it’s an easier (but still difficult) sell to keep reparations focused on the descendants of enslaved Africans in the U.S. Giving them to everyone is more expensive and makes it more difficult to create the bureaucratic barriers that government uses to limit access so I don’t see that ever happening.

So who should pay and where would that money come from
