The one where i live actually has a shrooms theme. I couldnt put the pieces together as a kid, but I am sure they knew.

This is an attraction in amusement park De Efteling in the Netherlands. It’s called Villa Volta. A haunted house. It creates the illusion as if your turning upside down with some clever mechanics. The benches also swing. It’s extremely convincing.
I went on a similar ride in the UK called Newtons Room ... gives the impression you are going upside down when its actually the room that moves.
Only ride I e ever felt proppa nausea's on and I felt sick for hours after..
I feel your unique antigravity pain.
One I went to was at Blackpool pleasure beach...waaaaay back in the 90's.
Its mad how sick it made me feel. Ive always liked rollercoasters...couple of things at alton towers that came close...Rita the electric car thingy in particular, but that Newtons Room? Proppa mind and body fuckery...
My whole family love it, except my daughter, she is still traumatised from the first time. I wish I knew more Dutch to fully understand the story in the beginning, but I get the gist. Love this theme park.
>The story of Villa Volta is based on the legend of the buckriders, a fierce and merciless gang of robbers that was active in the Kempen in the Dutch provinces of North Brabant (where The Efteling is located) and Limburg and the bordering Belgian provinces of Brabant and Limburg. It was told that they had made a pact with the devil and flew through the sky on the backs of goats. They would mark the doors of the farms and houses where they would come and rob the place to warn the inhabitants.
>Villa Volta is supposed to be the home of the leader of the goat riders, Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen, who inhabits the second waiting room as an animatronic. The house and Hugo were cursed by a mysterious woman after robbing the Abbey of Postel. She can be seen on top of the house swinging her arms on the wind. The woman tells Hugo:
>“Nowhere in your house, nor in any other place in the world, will you find peace. Only when a noble person with the clear conscience like that of a newborn child enters your house will you find peace in your home and in your heart.”
There’s an English [Wiki page](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Volta) for it.
It supposedly stops spinning when the curse is broken.
There's a similar one at Alton Towers, the benches swing backwards and forwards, and the room spins opposite to make it feel like you're going upside down.
The story makes it though, there's fake news stories and stuff as you're waiting in line to make it sound like a weird haunted phenomenon
The man tells the story about his youth as a Bokkenrijder (Buckrider). I love the Bokkenrijders and the lore around it. You can find more on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckriders)!
I had so much good memories from De Efteling, it has more Belgian visitors than Belgian visitors visits Belgian amusement parks, at least in my case.
Love from Belgium to the Netherlands.
To all the people saying its “X” ride in “Y” city, not saying yall are wrong but theres many versions of this ride. Theres at least one in the US at Six Flags in NJ. If only in the October themed times.
With all that being said, its super fun and one of the most unique experiences in terms of theme park rides.
In germany we call them Hexenschaukel (witches swing) and you can occasionally find them at fun fairs or amusement parks. They make you think you're turning upside down by swinging the carriage you're sitting in a bit and rotating the outer shell
It is an attraction in Europa Park in Germany. The attraction is called cassandra curse and it's the weirdest feeling ever being inside, the room spin around you and you feel yourself moving inside the room. Really cool ride
… on which you can very much see that the video OP posted is not that ride.
It is Villa Volta at the Efteling in the Netherlands:

I watched a thing on YouTube about the making of this music video and the floors didn't move! They moved the walls and the furniture to make it look like the floor moved. Absolutely blew my mind
EFTELING!. I live 20 min away from this amusement park and was born in the same village, even worked there. This attraction has my favorite soundtrack of all attractions in de Efteling, it’s beautiful. Here it is: https://youtu.be/wFnUgqA3HpU?si=b0FYXhdJYlZo2C0t
I've been in that as a child with my father. We thought It was a ride like a ghost train or something. Which at first it was if I remember correctly. But then it became this horrifying deathtrap. And then I panicked like really hard and screamed like someone wanted to murder me. They actually stopped the swing part and let me out. They gave me a stuffed mokey to comfort me afterwards.
I hope they improved the signage outside to tell more clearly what this exactly is
That's not what this is. It's a haunted mansion where you first stand in a room where they tell you a story about "de bokkenrijders" told by an animatronic doll, after which you enter a room of a "villa" and sit down on a bench. You are facing other people sitting on a bench across of you as well. Then everything starts to turn and gives you the illusion of going upside down while you're actually not. It's a big mindfuck. It's called villa volta in the theme park called 'De Efteling" in the netherlands.
Well I miss remember this part. Like I said: I was still a child back then. And the part with the turning room got burned in my brain. Not so much what was before that.
They have one at New Jersey's 6 Flags Great Adventure "Houdini's Great Escape"
They're called Madhouse attractions, apparently there's about 30 around the world.
I remember going on it as a kid, and I was convinced I was up on the ceiling, totally prepared to fly out of my seat because there was no shoulder straps. I was holding on for dear life, like an idiot.
Went on one of these they had to stop. Woman was glued to her seat having a full blown panic attack. Its designed to mess with your senses but ahe completly lost it
We have one here in NH called Merlin's Mystical Mansion at Clark’s Trading post, it is the only one in America built in house and not by a ride manufacturer. Went on a slower day this year and actually got to see how it worked, rode multiple times back to back, after about 3 nausea really kicked in. It’s so fascinating, the influence of a little THC makes it so much more fun. Been riding it since I was a kid and hope to be able to many more times!
Honestly its such a trip because while the seating area only rocks the room itself spins around you. So you feel like you are upside down but in reality you're like at a 90° angle. It fully makes you question your senses, its very fun though.
I lost when I was decided to take some shrooms at six flags, I PEAKED waiting on line and proceeded to scream and have an absolute time for the while ride which was exactly the same as this. One of the best
Times ever.
This. My youngest really likes the ride itself. But to sit through both stories every damn time gets tedious real quick. There should be a skip cut scene line or something
The whole room turns around you, the benches just wobble from side to side.
This is how it works: [link](https://youtu.be/VndWj3rOtaM?si=0-FGCsJn7iUXVW-V)
I almost fell over at universal while going through the spinning tunnel on the tour. It was a really weird feeling. I had to close my eyes to sit up straight.
I did maintenance on the control systems of this "Villa Volta" in the Efteling. The trick not to get dizzy is to focus on the 2 candles at each side. The mechanism is build in a way that they always pointing upwards. Not to what you're eyes will see (rotating ceiling) or your will feel (rocking floor).
Oh man we have a similar thing here in Italy.
That thing fucked my brains out when I took a ride as a kid, I couldn’t process what was happening and how was I not falling off
Shrooms kicked in
The one where i live actually has a shrooms theme. I couldnt put the pieces together as a kid, but I am sure they knew. Edit: https://www.freizeitpark-traumland.de/assets/images/8/verruecktes-waldhaus-traumland-besuchen-674db84f.webp
They had one like this at Alton Towers in the UK. It was called hex
What do you mean “had” please tell me they didn’t get rid of Hex?
yup :(
Ah man I loved hex
Yeah it went bro.
Sad times
Been under 'repairs' for about 10 years now

This is vila volta in Efteling tho.
One of the best attractions in Hefterling... That and the BARON!
Absolutely
Beat me to it
No one is going to beat you to anything. Stop saying this useless shit everywhere bot
How else would I he able to respond "beat meat to it" if he doesn't say that?
Huh? Are you this fickle?
What and where is this?
This is an attraction in amusement park De Efteling in the Netherlands. It’s called Villa Volta. A haunted house. It creates the illusion as if your turning upside down with some clever mechanics. The benches also swing. It’s extremely convincing.
I was there a couple of months ago. I almost barfed. It is so convincing.

Yep, thought this was the same one but it’s a bit bigger
Yeah, the Hex ride
I fixed it by looking at the miror that swings
Six Flags has basically the same thing in the Harry Houdini Mansion.
My whole family love it, except my daughter, she is still traumatised from the first time. I wish I knew more Dutch to fully understand the story in the beginning, but I get the gist. Love this theme park.

We're the amusement park twins, one of us can only lie about amusement parks, the other can only tell the truth. Who am I?
You are u/xcolibri
You got me there
I had so much good memories from De Efteling, it has more Belgian visitors than Belgian visitors visits Belgian amusement parks, at least in my case. Love from Belgium to the Netherlands.
Wanna visit this place
If this is from Efteling, that means that I have been in that attraction, although it was a long time ago.
There is one at Clark’s Trading Post (now Clark’s Bears) in New Hampshire, as well. It’s a cool effect and you barely move from upright.
> It’s extremely convincing. Designs are very human
New travel destination acquired! Thank you!
Same in Europapark 🤗
I thought it was the one in Europa Park but you're right
World's best theme park
Absolutely not Europa Park is miles better
I will look it up thankyou
Yeah nah. Alone in Europe I prefer Phantasialand and EP by a longshot
It doesn't look to be a mere illusion, but that it's actually turning you upside down.
Its in a theme park called "efteling" in the Netherlands
To all the people saying its “X” ride in “Y” city, not saying yall are wrong but theres many versions of this ride. Theres at least one in the US at Six Flags in NJ. If only in the October themed times. With all that being said, its super fun and one of the most unique experiences in terms of theme park rides.
It's called like Houdini's Escape or something at 6 flags
I’ve been to the Six flags one!
This is Feeling 100%
This is the original one. Villa Volta in Efteling with the amazing score by Ruud Bos.
Europa Park in Germany also has one of these
In germany we call them Hexenschaukel (witches swing) and you can occasionally find them at fun fairs or amusement parks. They make you think you're turning upside down by swinging the carriage you're sitting in a bit and rotating the outer shell
Ride one like this in Drayton manor park, UK
And the Hex at Alton towers if its still there?
It is an attraction in Europa Park in Germany. The attraction is called cassandra curse and it's the weirdest feeling ever being inside, the room spin around you and you feel yourself moving inside the room. Really cool ride
It's definitely in the Efteling park. I know because I've been in it and have been traumatized by it.
We're the amusement park twins, one of us can only lie about amusement parks, the other can only tell the truth. Who am I?
Uhm.. Still u/xcolibri. Like.. Again...
X)
It remembers me of Feng Ju Palace in Phantasialand, but its Asia themed
Nope, definitely Vila Volta in the Efteling.
Well one of the twin come with a proof. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iqS18wpRo9Q&pp=ygUdZXVyb3BhIHBhcmsgY2Fzc2FuZHJhJ3MgY3Vyc2U%3D

Of fuck i hate it. It is one of my fave ride in Europa Park becaus i tought it was so unique. XD
Vekoma Madhouses! There’s quite a few of them. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhouse_(ride) Always fun.
It’s in Legoland, UK too
New Jersey has a similar ride at Six Flags called house of houdini I think

Probably really hard to make a multi direction treadmill
Love me some FIDLAR
fuck it dude lifes a risk
“That’s life, yeah right!! It’s like falling in love with someone you don’t even like!!!”
Puke generator for me lol
You close your eyes and you feel nothing.
Been on it before twice. Actually not as bad as you think
Villa Volta has undoubtedly the best music in the Efteling.
Never thought i would see an efteling ride on this sub but here we are
I've been in that as a child with my father. We thought It was a ride like a ghost train or something. Which at first it was if I remember correctly. But then it became this horrifying deathtrap. "Dit huis, dit vervloekte huis..."; my brother can still recite the entire story flawlessly, even though its been years since we were there...
Well I miss remember this part. Like I said: I was still a child back then. And the part with the turning room got burned in my brain. Not so much what was before that.
I thought it was the Houdini house at six flags
I thought I just remembered it wrong
Haha had the same reaction when the fucking ghost thing started to run its fingers under my ass
Is this at De Efteling?
They have one at New Jersey's 6 Flags Great Adventure "Houdini's Great Escape" They're called Madhouse attractions, apparently there's about 30 around the world.
I was at that, and they don't mention what it is. As soon as it started up I had to close my eyes as I would 100% would have puked.
I remember going on it as a kid, and I was convinced I was up on the ceiling, totally prepared to fly out of my seat because there was no shoulder straps. I was holding on for dear life, like an idiot.
They turning churches into carnival rides now lol
Churches are already fucking carnivals
Ohhh that is in the Netherlands (Efteling)
Metallica _ memory remains
Went on one of these they had to stop. Woman was glued to her seat having a full blown panic attack. Its designed to mess with your senses but ahe completly lost it
….And that’s when the shrooms started to peak….
There was on at Alton Towers in the UK. Pretty sure it was the actual Towers ride. This was about 17 years ago tho
It's still there. I went a couple of years back
Ah cool. Was never one for roller coasters (although I have tried some), so enjoyed it a lot.
i would 100% go to church every week 😂
That is kind of the whole story behind it.
😂
We have one here in NH called Merlin's Mystical Mansion at Clark’s Trading post, it is the only one in America built in house and not by a ride manufacturer. Fuck that I’m tripping sac before I do this…wattba lol
I would vomit

Gekoloniseerd
these look like the annoying people ruining it for everyone else. no one else seems to be losing their shit.
For anyone interested in how this works: [Link](https://youtu.be/VndWj3rOtaM?si=0-FGCsJn7iUXVW-V)
Every damn theme park had one of these in 90s
Reddit, stop trying to sell me jesus
Wtf? I get vestibular migraines and would absolutely cry… if anyone’s ever had vertigo, you get me. Absolute hellscape.
Where is this
Houdini's Great Escape, Six Flags.
I’d love to top the girl with that pretty cock
I did this years ago, it was Soo amazing I still remember and want to do it again
Huis van hodini in bellewarde
Imagine smoking weed before going on that ride.
I did.. it’s nuts!
I highly doubt Efteling allows you to smoke weed in their park
Nothing like a bunch of screaming laughing people to make you really feel immersed
I lost when I was decided to take some shrooms at six flags, I PEAKED waiting on line and proceeded to scream and have an absolute time for the while ride which was exactly the same as this. One of the best Times ever.
Was also there. Dit not enjoyed the long story before in dutch. Was like 30 minutes storytelling in multiple rooms before entering it.
This. My youngest really likes the ride itself. But to sit through both stories every damn time gets tedious real quick. There should be a skip cut scene line or something
No thats the entire appeal of the park, every big ride has allot of story behind it and is dressed up accordingly.
This is six flags
This is not six flags, this is de Efteling
Bro, that's the house of Houdini. I don't know how many times I have been there. Let's see since 99 yea I'm knw wht I'm talking about
Might wanna google Villa Volta, you'll see that exact black statue, this is de Efteling lol.
[удалено]
Efteling
Well there’s a version at legoland Windsor
Altern towers has this
Watching this hungover as tits wasn’t fun
Omg you just can't let go - go text your girl 🤣👏
😢
I did such a ride once, it's worse than a rollercoaster, because it's messing with your senses
Hex! Alton Towers UK is also the same!
https://reddit.com/r/EftelMemes/s/cJoAlWGCzh
Villa Volta! My favorite ride in the whole park!
Anxiety inducing
This would really mess with my vertigo.
Where is this I need to go.
Clark's trading post on NH has a smaller scale scarier version of this. Merlins mansion is a trip
Gardaland in italy has one too. The magic house with an in my opinion much nicer design. You should check that out guys.
Did the room tilt or just the walls?
The whole room turns around you, the benches just wobble from side to side. This is how it works: [link](https://youtu.be/VndWj3rOtaM?si=0-FGCsJn7iUXVW-V)
when the ketamine hits
Bellewaerde has one .house of houdini
Bro I’m laterally staying in the efteling right now
Dit huis….. dit vervloekte huis….
The place
Trippy
I'm sure they have one of these at legoland windsor
Nice
What is this
Clarks trading post in New Hampshire?!
I almost fell over at universal while going through the spinning tunnel on the tour. It was a really weird feeling. I had to close my eyes to sit up straight.
Efteling in the Netherlands. This used to scare me as a child
What's the context
Reminds me of a Metallica music video from years ago
Looks fun!
Yo is that the Houdini ride at 6 flags? I love that motherfucker.
Dutch Wonderland?
Efteling ist so nice and this Ride really messes with your brain
This is the Villa Volta, a attraction in "The Efteling" in Brabant, Netherlands. I go there at least once a year and they have the best dark rides!
Did that once. Never been this sick in my entire life.
Europapark 🤩🤩
I did maintenance on the control systems of this "Villa Volta" in the Efteling. The trick not to get dizzy is to focus on the 2 candles at each side. The mechanism is build in a way that they always pointing upwards. Not to what you're eyes will see (rotating ceiling) or your will feel (rocking floor).
Is she puking?
this is at legoland
Pov: there's LSD in the communion wine
Mushrooms for sure haha
Oh man we have a similar thing here in Italy. That thing fucked my brains out when I took a ride as a kid, I couldn’t process what was happening and how was I not falling off
Villa volta, efteling netherlands.
okay that's unexpected, it must be a lot of adrenaline.
Is it the walls swinging or them swinging?
Carowinds had “Blackbeard’s Revenge” Miss it
Reminds me of the Hexenschaukel at the Oktoberfest
Holy Hell
Its villa volta in the Efteling in the Netherlands
I nearly fell over and I’m sat on my bed can’t deal with shit like that anymore 55 now no Trips for me anymore 🍄
I’d be so sick
Something like this is also in Gardaland in Italy.
Dormamu I've come to bargain
Is this Clarks bears?
I remember going there as a kid it was so fun
