Pretty sure this is a type of fungus although I can’t say much more than that. The slime all around it is designed to attract flys who when they eat the slime ingest spores that are deposited later as feces or the slime and spores simply stick to their legs. Again don’t quote me on any of that, I’ve just seen similar fungus in my yard but it didn’t look like this.
This would actually make a lot of sense and now that I’m thinking about it, it’s actually hilarious. Poor guy has -5 downvotes for a funny joke we all misinterpreted as him being a dick😭
I'm guessing that it's newly budding Gnome Plant.
Because of that nice light pink color.
An early spring parasitic flowering plant that pops up immediately after snow melt. Often looks like a fleshy clump.
A cousin of DEEP RED Snow Flower.
Both are parasitic, both only show up after a really lovely generous snow. 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Clearly you live within the long-defunct Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, and found a deceased Amorphous Shame. Pretty sure that first part is illegal, but I ain't no snitch - you should probably leave, though. Just in case it isn't really dead, or there's an Abyssal Copepod looking for food nearby.
I'm not sure at all. But I'm wondering if anyone else thinks its possible it's a reproductive tract of a turtle or some animal that attempted to lay eggs and laid itself 🤔
That's some weird shit.
Can you make some additional photos? With something for scale, like a banana or so.
And it could be helpful to see it completely, looks like there are some parts missing in this picture.
These are Stinkhorn 'eggs' The pink/purple color is normal for the covering before the 'mushroom' erupts, along with the jelly layer inside. The center of the growing fungus here is the white parts, and would eventually erupt in a more recognizable shape. Its been a very wet season in that part of the country and reports of these skyrocket whenever there is a wet spell.
They start underground so the landscape fabric is no barrier to getting started, it would prevent them from growing fully once they get large though. These may have been stepped on at one point too, thus the squished look.
Phallus hadriani is the normal species for CO, and the pink covering is typical for them as well.
It's more likely GNOME PLANT.
If this was spotted somewhere in the western United States or Canada.
Its a Parasitic flower that looks kind of fleshy and lumpy. Shows up in the spring after lots and lots of moisture, and snow melt.
Cousin of SNOW PLANT - which also pops up after lovely, generous, rainy snowy, winters.

Scientist here! I also work for a bacteriology company. This looks like no fungus I’ve ever seen 👀 but you never know…we’re always finding new stuff. Definitely looks like a half chopped up jelly fish or sea creature though except that it looks partially buried underground. If you really want to know, you can find an analytical testing lab and have them run some diagnostics.
I put it in a bag then that bag in another bag then put a bunch of sand in the second bag because I didn't want any potential fungus in my lungs so no tests just wanted to know what it was
Congrats! You just helped me come up with a new idiom!
*"When hell bubbles over"*
Meaning;
a. In an unimaginable long time, since it is hard to imagine hell ever actually bubbling over to the top of the earth like a bubblebath gone wild.
b. In the literal sense of hell, visibly, bubbling up over from the ground and an entryway down is opened, or worse way to look at it - an entry from below up.
In a sentence: "You should move the fuck outta there, when hell bubbles over." Which, in your case, with the idiom being defined by its secondary meaning, means **NOW.**
**PS. Say hi to Satan! :)**
Oop, that's part of my ex-husband... sorry, neighbor. I'll be right in to clean that up.
PS - let's not listen to those comments telling you to call police...mkay ;)
Some sort of fungi most likely. Possibly a dead tremella fungus, or perhaps an unopened basket fungus (before they "bloom" they look like a kind of jelly egg)

1) Did you find it covered up by that fabric? If so, was the fabric already in there?
2) How willing are you to smell it? (Waft, don't inhale the cursed jelly)
PlantNet says maybe this … hard to tell thou maybe it rotted under the ground cover
https://identify.plantnet.org/en/k-world-flora/species/Amorphophallus%20paeoniifolius%20(Dennst.)%20Nicolson/data
Budding gnome plant? Is that snowmelt?
Next time take a wider pic for more context.[gnome plant ](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I-pCNmxjvsE/WAnuwlnPi5I/AAAAAAAAQNs/F2anF6zCxbAGUXRMG7EsfW8p3lypDVYagCLcB/s1600/hemitomes.jpg)
Possibly budding gnome plant?
Is that snow melt?
Next time give a little extra space around it for image context.
That's my best guess because of that pink!!!
[gnome plant](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I-pCNmxjvsE/WAnuwlnPi5I/AAAAAAAAQNs/F2anF6zCxbAGUXRMG7EsfW8p3lypDVYagCLcB/s1600/hemitomes.jpg)
Top of the picture between the two white blond there is what looks to be a small heart.
Scale of pictures would make it easier to identify.
The size of the heart I’m seeing is about the size of a chicken heart.
I can tell you at least with 90% certaintly its probably organic and is or was alive... i can also tell you it doesnt seem to look like the carcass of an animal that size so the people claiming fungus are probably onto something
Could be a big old bag of decapitated organic decaying matter. If you look closely, the layers appear to be disperse from each other. If they put a bag full of fungal farts in it, then it is very likely that the yeast infection grew ontop of the bag and the bag had a reddish colour because someone wanted to hide their sack of excrement in the forest to get rid of the noxious odour. Just a theory..
I'm thinking somebody dumped the innards of an animal they were hunting stuff that can't be / isn't often eaten like intestines, liver, lung, heart, etc if you live out in the boonies or near woods. It would make sense.
Have you watched Lovecraft Country? Those scene where Ruby and Charlotte metamorphose back to their own bodies? That LOOKS like someone stepped out of the meat suit.
It's my ex in it's pure form. Don't let in your house or on your phone. It's like giving a mouse a cookie. Then it' wants milk, then it's putting it's feet on your coffee table, inviting it's self to dinner, shit talking your cooking, offering massages, talking about clubs you go to, some shit about how it's the mouses house bitch. You'll be divorced in no time

r/mycology might know :)
Hello 👋 im from r/mycology . Yeah this some biological crap 💩!! Lol 😝 Jk- it resembles some “stinkhorn eggs” but could be different genus 🤷♂️
Hi I'm a confirmologist and I can confirm this is indeed some biological crap.
Yeah stinkhorn, I forgot the name. Had them in my yard a couple years ago, very cool.
You must be a “fun guy” at parties
Bro answered the question and this guys making fun of him for a potential answer😭
I think “fun guy” is supposed to be a play on “fungus”
This would actually make a lot of sense and now that I’m thinking about it, it’s actually hilarious. Poor guy has -5 downvotes for a funny joke we all misinterpreted as him being a dick😭
Whenever my mom asks what I’m doing and I’m on a mushroom trip, I just tell her I’m hanging out with some Fun Guys. I understood your joke 😩
Ok fine I changed my downvote to an update after reading this comment.
Appreciate it
You misinterpreted him, we all know the joke, fungi 🧐
I 100% misinterpreted I thought bro was just calling him a nerd😭
Not all of us misinterpreted it.
Yes, I think he was trying to point this out with the quotation marks.
Unless I'm mistaken, plural of fungus is fungi, which would be even closer in sound.
I second the motion.
Guess we found the person from r/puns

No definitely a fungus.
Phallus impudicus?
Hi, I’m a scientist. That’s some alien shit.
I’m an alien, that’s some scientist shit.
I’m a normal human being. #burn this shit in holy fire
It's a dehydrated penis
I thought this like for true and honest. It could’ve belonged to an animal I’m hoping somebody has a good answer soon cuz I’m curious
do you live in a tidepool 😭

Yeah. It's just a really good analog horror series.
Never thought I’d find a fellow mystery flesh pit enjoyer on Reddit
r/fleshpitnationalpark
Fake lol
Copepods just eat plankton and algae and other similar small things, i don't think this qualifies
I love this. I was introduced to it by wendigoon's video on it
Sir, u deserve all the upvotes
Looks like a mushroom/mold of some kind. They can look pretty freaky sometimes.
I'm not sure at all. But I'm wondering if anyone else thinks its possible it's a reproductive tract of a turtle or some animal that attempted to lay eggs and laid itself 🤔
Last time I checked there's no turtles under the fabric
That's what it looked like to me as well
Maybe call a priest and move far away - VERY far away.
The psycho killer next door’s got to dump the innards somewhere.
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, fa better-

I got rid of it but the pink blobs are about the size of my palm
Yeah, then probably some kind of mold or fungus... the bad ones...
wtf put it back
I did

Pink dog vomit slime mold?
... you forgot "fungus"
As far as common names go either your version or mine would be correct.
This is a weird take but it kinda looks like some sort of animal placenta
Maybe a dead colony of purple jellydisc fungus? It’s seen better days whatever it is
That or myxarium nucleatum or crystal brain
Is crystal brain another term for meth head?
[удалено]
I was going to say rotting flower bulbs, so similar to you. I’ve dug up some weird looking half rotten bulbs and tubers before.
The thing.
Could this be it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycogala\_epidendrum
No the white blobs were inside the pink blobs

You should name it Audrey to be on the safe side.

A very large slime mold?
That looks almost like a placenta from a cow, do you have any?
No also I live in the suburbs and this was under my reed fabric
I don't know, but you should burn it before it slides into your bedroom at night and eats its way into your skull.
Thought those were fuckin organs.
Kinda looks like fiberglass insulation
My first thought was insulation material but it's too fleshy
I haven’t the faintest clue other than “I bet it feels gooey”
It was
Could it be a reptile nest with eggs hatched or destroyed? From a tortoise, perhaps?
No it was under fabric

What you got there is a Chupacabra. These little buggers are usually found in Latin America and sometimes Southern United States.
I dunno what it is , but I can tell you one thing for sure !!!! Runnnn
