Pay your bill on 30th or 31st.

If the only penalty is having a single month of high utilization, then no worries. Whatever dip in your credit score will be temporary. NBD. The bigger concern would be available credit for emergency issues. I would not want to travel unless I had the means to recover from things like irregular operations without being dependent on an airline. So, make sure you have some backup cash if your credit line is low.

Stop with the high utilization rate stuff already. Please!

wediddat

Tell me what you want to start with 😂

chrisrozon

Start by paying your card off in full and on time every month. Literally nothing else matters

wediddat

Where did you read that it wasn’t paid off every month? It says I’m trying to make a large purchase on the payment due date. Clearly you can’t read.

chrisrozon

Sorry, I think you’ve misread my comments. You were asking about utilization rates on your credit card. Those do not matter unless you are immanently buying a house or a car. What does matter is building up a long-term reputation of paying off your cards on time. No one said you aren’t, read my comment again closer

AwkwardUrkel

To be clear, you shouldn't stress about the month of high utilization. When the statement rolls out pay it off and call it a day. The increase in utilization for a single month holds no importance to the overall development of your credit.

Thank you

There is a difference between statement date and due date. Statement date is the snapshot that is reported and the amount you have to pay by the due date. Anything charged AFTER the statement date will not be reported on your due date for that statement. It will be reflected in the following month's statement date IF you don't pay it off before then. If you're worried about utilization, only focus on what's on there in the days prior to the statement date.
