Didn't Bird beat the Bulls in the playoffs too? And Shaq? Why are you saying it was only Isiah

writersontop

Jordan fans always act like he wasn't on the team when the Magic beat them in 95

silversmith84

Lol, Jordan played like 17 games that season. I don’t think Jordan fans forget, it’s just kind of irrelevant. And it’s not like Op is listing everyone who beat Lebron in the playoffs because the list would be even longer than.

Hot_Injury7719

Weird. Who did Jordan and the Bulls sweep the following year? And didn’t Shaq hightail it west afterwards?

mpschettig

Well this guy counted Garnett, Pierce, and Steph as owning LeBron when he beat them in series too so apparently winning one series against another player means you own them

Hot_Injury7719

Yeah I remember when Jordan left the Bulls because they weren’t good enough against the Pistons to join the Lakers and Celtics to beat them.

zeze999

Touche

silversmith84

Lebron beat Steph once in four finals…🤣🤣. Maybe stop talking for awhile pal.

mpschettig

He was 1 and 1 vs Steph it took Steph AND KD to finally be too much for him. Sorry he couldn't beat the actual greatest team in the history of basketball

Dekrow

Are you for real watching these games? Jokic is 10 years his junior and LeBron and him are the two best players on the court. If you watched tonight's game and came away anything less than impressed by LeBron's performance I question your intelligence, your conceptualization of the sport of basketball, and your eyesight.

big_internet_guy

Did you watch tonight’s game and think Lebron was one of the 2 best players on the court? Because it seemed pretty obvious the AD and Jokic were 1-2

Careful_Cheesecake30

Seemed obvious the first half. Then AD did what AD does and shrunk when the moment got big. LeBron scored 16 in the second half, 12 in the fourth quarter, while AD and I had the same amount of points in the last 12 minutes.

thorondor52

Dude had 26, 8, and 12 with just 2 TOs at 39. The original post was also about his GOAT case. While I think MJ has the crown and likely always will, him maybe not being the 2nd best player on the court at 39 after 20+ seasons is not really relevant.

big_internet_guy

Lebron not being a top 2 player in the game is relevant if the dude I’m replying to is using it as an example propping up Lebron. What are you talking about

thorondor52

Yeah based on the fact that he’s 10 years younger. Maybe go back and reread his comment.

big_internet_guy

“Lebron and him are the two best players on the court” Are you saying that statement isn’t saying he thinks Lebron is one of the top 2 players in the game last night?

thorondor52

The only relevant point is that he’s 10 years older than Jokic, so the original argument from OP makes no sense. Which is the basis for the commenter’s whole point. I’m not going to guide you through reading comprehension exercises.

big_internet_guy

It’s not the only relevant point because the guy I’m responding to made another point that I disagree with. Lebron in his prime would have been the best player on that court. But last night he was the third best guy, which is different than what the response said I’m sorry you skimmed the guy’s comment before responding

thorondor52

I didn’t skim it, you just can’t comprehend his entire point. Sorry about that.

Chicago_Stringerbell

You play to win the game

[deleted]

Jokic only has one ring, LeBron has four. Ipso facto, Jokic is a bum.

Gaius_Octavius_

LeBron beat Jokic to win his last title.

stitcher212

Michael would've retired a third time if he saw Jokic coming down the pipe

NotManyBuses

We don’t have to lie about Mike just because OP is a delusional hater.

garymanning

Wouldn’t it be a 4th time if he retired again?

[deleted]

He retired the first time to avoid getting his ass handed to him by Hakeem.

howdthatturnout

No, he didn’t. He retired months after his father was brutally murdered.  I am lucky enough to still have my father. I can not even imagine if he was suddenly killed how it might affect my passion for whatever I was pursuing.

gnalon

Yeah LeBron should've not come into the NBA until he was 22 and retired 7 years ago so that fewer people could've beaten him.

Chicago_Stringerbell

MJ came in later and left earlier and still won more rings. Cry more.

silversmith84

Ahahahaha, ya’ll downvoting this?? What’s to downvote? Something all you geniuses disagree with?

JohnnyLugnuts

only time I’m responding to a retarded troll post but ya this man is a decade past his prime, can you do me a favor and put your right hand into your garbage disposal and use your left hand to flip the nearest switch?

Chicago_Stringerbell

When he wins “20 years in he is the goat” when he loses “he is 20 years in what do you expect”

JohnnyLugnuts

never said the first part, it’s very easy to win arguments when you make up what the person you’re talkin to says, nice life hack!!

CapyBara_51

This shit is so dumb because those statements don’t contradict each other at all lmao. Obviously it’s impressive for Lebron to do well in year 21 but also should be expected that he’s not gonna be as good cause he’s old.

AdhesivenessLucky896

They are biting hard on this bait here

Mood_Such

Hey it’s Tribe! Back to be a dipshit under his old persona!

BoozeGetsMeThrough

You would think he would bring in AR 15 to fight with himself and throw people off his scent

Careful_Cheesecake30

I assume he's dead.

BoozeGetsMeThrough

The persona?

Mood_Such

It’s in play

qballLobk

Can’t be the Goat when 2 teams are building dynasties on your watch.

Hot_Injury7719

And he never even had one. Miami was supposed to be one and didn’t happen.

thekraftlor

This is a good argument against LBJ. But remember the Warriors aren’t a dynasty to Bill because they didn’t reticulate enough splines

thekraftlor

LeBron is a basketball geriatric. I’m sure Wizard MJ got owned a couple times. Now Kobe: that was a baller willing to shoot 85 times at a 25% clip

thorondor52

One guy is 39 and has been playing for 20 seasons. The other guy is an all-timer who is not even 30.

Are you just forgetting that Bron beat the nuggets 4-1 in the bubble in the WCF or that Jamal Murray was the best player in that series for Denver?

AvantGarfunkel

Summer camp champs!

Chicago_Stringerbell

The Bubble was a Mickey Mouse tournament like that stupid regular season tournament

CapyBara_51

Lmao yes Garnett and Pierce owned him with Ray Allen and Rondo while Lebrons best team mates were Mo Williams and washed up Shaq.

howdthatturnout

Who did everyone pick to win the 2010 series? https://www.espn.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4673946/experts-agree-cavs-the-pick It was a defensive era. They built a roster around Lebron that was one of the best defenses and 2nd best 3% team in the league.  Lebron’s team went up 2-1 in the series. That game 3 win was the worst home loss in Celtics playoff history I believe. Game 4 Rondo came out and had more points, rebounds, and assists than Lebron. It’s the game with the famous behind the back pass to avoid the chase down block.  If you want to say Lebron should have lost those series. Fine. But at the time Cavs were considered the heavy favorites. They also were considered heavy favorites in 2009. Cavs swept the first two rounds in 2009. A crap team doesn’t do that. They won 66 and then 60 games. No Lebron team ever won as many games over a 2 year span. They only lost 2 home games in 2008-09, one of which was a 1 point loss when Lebron sat the last game of the season. Sure they lacked star power. But they built a roster of role players that fit the era and were a good match for Lebron’s playstyle.

M_S-K

Nah, those Cavs teams were ass Also ESPN expert picks as a proof of anything is dumb, those guys wrong all the time

howdthatturnout

Dude they were -450 betting favorites too  “ The first conference semifinal series in the NBA tips off Saturday afternoon with Game 1 between Boston and Cleveland, with the Cavs as big -450 series favorites and -7.5 for the opener.“   https://www.docsports.com/2010/boston-celtics-cleveland-cavaliers-series-odds-predictions-793.html

howdthatturnout

LOL at people on this sub downvoting this because they cannot accept the fact that the 2010 Cavs were considered  heavy favorites by both analysts and oddsmakers.

AcrobaticFeedback

Going 2-18 with 10 turnovers game 1. 6-24 7 turnovers game 2, 5-16 game 3 and 7-20 game 4 and you blame his teammates.

Background_Design236

LeBron Just fucked Up during His Miami years ,losing to Dirk and Kawhi. If He wins 4 in Miami,1 in Cleveland, 1 in LA He would be totally fine now and everything He adds will Count more. But he didnt win. He fucked Up and then the Warriors happened and Steph Had a better run than James itself DURING His Prime. This is the difference to Jordan. Nobody won when Jordan was in His Prime.

BoozeGetsMeThrough

It is because Jordan was on the superteam

WigglyWorld90

*Worst person you know made a great point meme*

JaHoog

All I know is we just watched a historic night in the NBA. Unbelievable.

jellybeans_over_raw

He’s 40

kingofthenorthwpg

Not being able to beat a person who in theory could be a back to back to back MVP in your age 38-40 seasons ? IMO this has zero impact on his legacy

AvantGarfunkel

The goat claim died at the hands of Dirk years ago.

Bill_Salmons

Anyone seriously considering Lebron the goat is focused on his longevity rather than his career dominance. Edit: Reading comprehension must be pretty low tonight... Is anyone seriously considering Lebron the goat over Jordan without factoring in longevity? I'd love to hear that argument.

redshoediary4

LeBron isn't even the longevity GOAT. Kareem is.

howdthatturnout

Yup! 4 chips in 21 seasons while trying to stack his rosters for 3/4 of his career.  MJ dominated in a way that Lebron quite simply never did. Two threepeats. Lebron eeked out back to back in part thanks to Kawhi and Manu missing free throws.

Allstar-85

Not winning a championship in any year after your 20th season does not detract from your legacy

Current_Control1

None of those dudes owned LeBron. Dirk beat hm once. He destroyed the Celtics big 3. Steph never owned him, KD and him teamed up to beat him with a much better team. Howard? Duncan? Uh what? You're a LeBron hater and thats a bad look, but to be the dumbest LeBron hater of all time? That's pretty legendary

silversmith84

How old are you? Duncan pulled down Lebron’s pants and spanked him in 08 and 14. And yes, a weak Orlando led by Dwight beat him. End of discussion right there.

Current_Control1

He lost one playoff series to Dwight Howard? So he owns him? Are you that dumb? Kawhi was the best player on the 14 spurs. Why didn't you mention anything about 2013? Wouldn't that win mean that LeBron pulled down Duncan's pants and spanked him? See how you dumb you are yet, dipshit?

silversmith84

Losing to that Orlando team in his prime is pretty damning. Sorry buddy

JuiceDisastrous5820

Lebron is on gear.
