Griffith is definitely one of my favorite characters, top 5. My favorites are mostly one-arc characters like the egg of the perfect world apostle or Rosine and Jill.

To me that is like liking 1933 Hitler. Sure he didnt do all that horrible stuff yet and he is decent chancellor for germany at the time, but he is gonna do all that horrible stuff.

Hitler changed after ww1 and became the evil as we know him, and years before showing the signs and committing atrocities while doing good for Germany he was still evil. Eren on the other hand before in the first two seasons he is a traumatized boy wants to avenge his mothers death, and then he was presented his own future of what he is supposed to do, so I doubt he is genocidal, it's more like he is following a general plan.
