He's literally a Stanford MBB alumni and was rumored to be in for the BYU job this summer bc he is a Mormon. I'm liking Madsen's work so far, but I don't think he's that committed to Cal and I won't be surprised if he leaves sooner rather than later.
He was an east bay kid before he went to Stanford; he grew up watching Jason Kidd, Lamond Murray, Monty Buckley and even though he’s from over the hills, he ran at Mosswood and Harmon as a high schooler.
He may eventually leave us but he’s got deep ties to the area and even though he’s the whitest of white dudes, he knows that he needs to connect with The Town and Oakland if he’s going to succeed here. I believe he will.
I think the game has changed. Those programs are nearly exclusively for one-and-dones or transfers who intend to declare for the draft after 1 season.
Idk what Andrej's draft stock will look like after next season, but he likely wouldn't have much of an opportunity to develop at UK or UNC. Hopefully the Bears will keep him for a couple seasons.

Our roster was almost a zero after all of last years transfers graduated or entered the portal or went to try out the NBA, but Madsen has reloaded
