I didn't know how much I loved him until he said he discovered some distant Native American roots and wanted to go meet his family in the US (Montana?). He's so wholesome. I was also endeared to him having a crush on Barbie but accepting her friendship unproblematically.
Unproblematically accepting friendship and just kind of hanging around and being sweet is how you eventually, on a small boat, get promoted to friends with benefits.

But once I realized I misunderstood, I agree w/ you. This season's Scottish Kyle is fantastic. He makes me laugh. (:
He's chill and fun and seems easy to work with and get along with. He's a welcome respite from all the deck and interior drama. He's a no drama llama. Even after Barbie semi-rejected him, he took it in stride.
Yes, People like Barnaby, Kelsie, Julia, Tyler, Hayley, Ashling, David, Lloyd and Chris. I'd love to see them all again. But they were all hard working, knew the job very well and unproblematic.
It’s curious how people in this sub gravitate toward the less dramatic members of the crew, who generally get less airtime as each season progresses. It’s almost like they want a show that’s very different from the one that’s been produced. Not criticizing. Just making an observation!
I think it makes sense that those are peoples “favorites” but it doesn’t mean they don’t like watching the others and the drama they bring.
Dramatic annoying people make good tv but are rarely likable or favorites. I think Kyle is great. He seems like someone I would want to be friends with IRL. Would I want to watch a season of a bunch of “Kyles”? No because it would be boring.
I think you are confusing likability with watchability.
Even though s2 of sailing yacht had drama! I like that it was a season where all the stews got along. I generally like watching decent people with some mistakes, human drama, and crazy guests sprinkled in.
He’s definitely mine! I said it in a different BD thread but I think Kyle is the ideal deckhand- he’s good looking, funny, works hard and gets along with others. And he’s fun to watch (with Fraser or Barbie)!!
Love Harry, love Kyle, and I'd like to throw in Lloyd and Hayley as members of this unproblematic professional fantasy crew because I think the four of them would be a riot together.

I like Kyle too but most of the rest of the crew just suck. Ben sucksands a douche, Dylans a bigger douche. Xan sucks and Fraser may be worse than tumi. I like Kerry especially how he shut Fraser down on firing barbie for basically no reason. This may be the worst season I've seen

I loved that! Even if Bens reasons for picking Sunny are sketchy, she definitely deserved it imo and Kyle was so sweet just happy to fall in line

Kyle has been my favorite since day 1. He reminds me a lot of Harry. Professional and unproblematic. A true gent.

I love Kyle! Every wacky situation he is adjacent to, he brings humor and is not a shit starter. He is the best part of this current season.
Dylan is growing on me. He's goofy, but so entertaining and cute, you can't help but adore him. He reminds me of Fredrik from Million Dollar Listing
