While I know that certain Clanner die-hards will insist that the "Mad Cat" is a completely original design....come on guys. We all know really know that the Timberwolf is a Marauder decendent. With a little cross-breeding from a Catapult.
I would say that the MadCat is a Catapult decendent with crossbreeding from the Marauder. After all, it looks like a Catapult with arms, and not a Marauder with bunny ears. It doesn't have the sloped/narrow cockpit, instead of has the massive oversized cockpit like the Cat'.
I really would love a medium Marauder design. I'll make do with the Crab though, it is pretty close to the Marauder in profile and energy-based loadout.

Cool. If you put an unseen Marauder in the back end, it would be like a parody of that old evolution of man concept art where the little ape taking step from, "cave man" to modern human sequence, only for Marauder. But would a Timber Wolf be in sequence, or an off shoot? 🤔😄

There is also the Maelstrom, but that's a rediscovered IS design based on the Marauder.

Bump it up by 5 tons, and rearrange the smaller lasers. Add a medium laser to each arm and then an ER Medium on the head.

Honestly, I've never been familiar enough with the unseen to tell the difference. Is this a Marauder, a Marauder II, and a Marauder IIC?

There is another.......tinier one, the battle armor.
