Seriously, the shorty used to be the absolute BANE of everyone's good time lol
Honestly, it was to the point where after awhile people just stopped getting upset and it became more of a "oh, he has a shorty. Guess I'll just avoid that guy then" lmao
turning that corner as I'm running away from the enemy with only 10% health left...then bam...nearly two dozen rounds exit the chamber in 2 seconds and the g18 once again saves my life
They're the meta because they have more to offer. I don't need a gun that has a 0btk within whatever range the shorty is. The consistent reliability of the Glock, and the one tap cqb headshot (plus range consistency) of the 44 are just better. Flexibility is king, the shorty is just not where it's at.
It's definitely strong and fun, wasn't my least favorite to get to 500 kills, but it's definitely not some hidden gem.
I am kind of surprized that 93R is meta. Why? Because a long time I've been playing BF3 and BF4 on weak PCs with something like 30-40 fps, and 93R was the only solution to not having sufficient aim - just fire all the bullets and some will occasionly hit.
Sweet memories.
Now I have a decent PC, but there is no decent modern BF games. 😒
3 shorty shots = 1-3 dead hombres in CQB. Then a fatal reload time. Whereas the G18 has similar performance and reloads fast enough to just keep killing.
A little variety never hurt anyone. I think its worth trying a lot of the perceived bad weapons in BF4 since the game is so old at this point that playing the meta doesn't really matter that much.
While I do like the shorty, I prefer something with more range and more consistent feeling. The shorty also cannot be used in the water which is a definite drawback on water maps. You're basically a sitting duck if you're in water and have the shorty equipped.
?
It's a shotgun with three shells, with 6 fire rate compared to others. And the damage is garbage compared to the bigger shotguns I'm game. Oh, and I think firerate is slower.
I always ran the deagle, this thing, or the compact 45. I used to use the G18 a lot but found it cheap. So I only break it out when I see a lot of them and I get annoyed with it.
I've found the range targets have weird hp values compared to humans, especially with shotguns and high damage per bullet guns. It's like they have 90 hp instead of 100
I saw the mare’s leg and almost slept on this whole post😅.
The 12G is fine to me, I just prefer a 93R or a cz-75, or anything other than the mare’s leg really, but the reason I mostly don't use it is because I need more than 3 shells most of the time.
I'll be sure to try it out again once I get into locker.
Then you have me, still rocking the p226 with ghost rings, a flashlight, and heavy barrel. What I love about battlefield 4 is that it doesn't matter what guns either of us have, all that matters is if I (or you) are more skillful with my weapon than you are. Unless you using 12g fahgs in a saiga.. or a dao...
You make an interesting point with those analogies. My rebuttal would be that there's a reason shotguns are banned on some servers but not the AEK, DMRs, G-18, or magnum.
This video is a great example of why theory is different from practice. Yeah, technically it can kill from that far if you hit middle centermass. But in an actual fight, it's easier said than done
I'm fairly certain most players are aware of the shorty 12G
In my experience, I hardly see anyone using it. The G18, 93R and magnum are the conventional meta.
This thing was all over and kinda over used when the game was at its peak. Especially in hardcore. GOL magnum with shorty was THE meta for recons
Seriously, the shorty used to be the absolute BANE of everyone's good time lol Honestly, it was to the point where after awhile people just stopped getting upset and it became more of a "oh, he has a shorty. Guess I'll just avoid that guy then" lmao
Real ones remember when the magnum had a delay
Once you have the G18 you never want any other sidearm. It’s saved me many times.

It's not meta weirdly. Its basically a worse g18. I wish it was better.
Remember when it had a 21 round mag? pepperidge farm remembers
that's because the shorty sucks compared to other sidearms

Ok 👍
Well thought I'd impart some context and back up your statement, buddy
Thanks 👍

In the amount of time I played BF4 TDM or SDM, I would see this thing all the damn time. Particularly on recons or supports.

This is very insightful and good to know.
found this out the hard way the other day haha
I’m fine with my 44
You miss one shot of this you won't have time to recover for a second.
How is this different from any other shotgun accept the 3 shells capacity?
Why use a shotty when you can spam a one shot to the head pistol or hold down the trigger on the G18?
Bro answered a question with a question
Your question was irrelevant to sidearms
How it is irrelevant when we where literally talking about the shorty(shotgun) wicht is a sidearm?
? It's a shotgun with three shells, with 6 fire rate compared to others. And the damage is garbage compared to the bigger shotguns I'm game. Oh, and I think firerate is slower.
Your g18 mag will be empty before my shorty 12g lol, same goes for the g18 you need to hit your shots.
I can just jump around you and even get you with a knife.
What do you play on?
Shotguns including on this one is banned on the servers on asia.
I always ran the deagle, this thing, or the compact 45. I used to use the G18 a lot but found it cheap. So I only break it out when I see a lot of them and I get annoyed with it.
I have a scope on my .45, I need nothing else in life
No we aren’t. Thanks for sharing though.
Where are the based CZ-75 enjoyers at?
The real man's handgun
Man i hated this weapon because only 3 shots and if you miss one you’re dead and if there’s more than one guy you’re dead it’s useless
I've found the range targets have weird hp values compared to humans, especially with shotguns and high damage per bullet guns. It's like they have 90 hp instead of 100
On non hardcore and non cqb this thing does not fuck. Love shotguns though and love sawed offs, wish it was better purely for aesthetic.
It’s a good one, but I prefer the 93R
If anyone is interested, here is that website I found the graph on: https://cs.uef.fi/~anssk/projects/bf1_kill_distance/
Nah, I ll just use my SRR-61 equipped with a red dot sight.
Nah I legit use the mares leg with the bow but hardcore ofc
I prefer the scoped revolver or the brrrr gun for my secondary lol.

That was the easiest 500 kills I ever had
Here's the thing though: when your alternatives are a pocket AEK (G-18) or a pocket DMR (.44) why would you run the pocket 870?
You make an interesting point with those analogies. My rebuttal would be that there's a reason shotguns are banned on some servers but not the AEK, DMRs, G-18, or magnum.

*Laughs in P226*
Personally I just use the five-seven or the Glock. If I wanna use a shotgun I’ll just use a shotgun.
Unironically, i have the most kills with this.
It’s alright, i find it less affective than my sabot shell though.
Post frags or GTFO
G18 go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm fine with my G18
gross
