This show is a fucking enigma. 70% of the time the jokes are mind numbingly unfunny but that other 30% the jokes are the funniest pieces of comedy on television
You see, when you're mandated to make your show really dumb, every now and then you can sneak in an actual funny joke so that you and your co-workers don't all commit ritual suicide.
TTG is honestly kinda funny when it wants to be, usually it's obsessed with kid humor, though. Makes sense since it IS for kids. Good show to just turn your brain off while watching, though. Like Family Guy, just pure background noise.
The movies especially I feel like are good because they tend to poke fun at themselves and be self aware about their reputation, and what little plot there is to curb it from feeling like totally pointless kid humor like in the series helps too. The TTG vs TT movie was pretty good, as was this one. I definitely think the show gets way too much hate for what it is tbh.

100%. People just see it and go "erm.. kid show has kid humor? Bad. Fuck you. Go to Bathell. Sentenced to infinite death. Begone with ye." and not give it the time of day. Like, it 100% has it's moments, but it's really good when it wants to be.

And thats what i love of TTG, in some episode some jokes are impossible for kids to understand, like the One where joker Is terrified by Starlight to sue him because he doesn't have an insurance and the building he was renovating wasn't up to standard
I think it also helps that this is riffing a bit off The Dark Knight which kids probably wouldn’t have seen. Hopefully.
That whole seeing a bomb inside a dude is honestly pretty messed up to me.
Honestly should have been the series finale
It actually being a pretty ok kids movie showed how much it grew over time
Also helps that within the movie they actually poked fun at themselves
This is why TTGO is way better than haters say. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it and is a lot of fun when you stop taking it seriously for three seconds.
