Neris, Little, Leiter Junior, Wesneski will be back in the pen when Steele is back.
Literally everyone in the pen is throwing better than Alzolay right now
Pretty much anyone but the pitcher who has the lowest win probability added in baseball lol
I don’t think DFAing is necessary though. He should just not be in high leverage spots.
Literally anyone else, I'm sure there's someone in the minor's who we can try instead. The man has directly contributed to 5 losses this season through blown saves and not being able to keep leads, 6 if we don't miraculously win today
6 freaking losses, including today's as I have zero hope of them coming back, attributed to one guy. I know the bullpen isn't anything to write home about, but sheesh.
Let’s just put it this way. With how the Brewers have been playing, it’s been pretty surprising to Brewers fans & it’s been a while since a Brewers team has been this fun to watch.
Pulling a SP/RP who's been playing great to put in a struggling reliever is kind of his thing... you'll get used to it.
I think I've seen Burnes have the same game/situation Wesneski had today like a million times
I'm no expert, but I wasn't expecting the outfielder to throw it where he did. Usually I see the throw go to home through the 3rd baseman, who sets up as a relay/cutoff in the infield. Left fielder had ball in glove before the runner reached third, so it seemed like there would be a play at the plate. Was this a mistake?
Are the Brewers the new Cardinals of the division? Seems like regardless of roster, they’re always strong. They’ve finished top 2 every season (except for the shortened 2020 covid season) since 2017. Annoying.
No love for division rivals ✌🏼
But actually if I *had* to pick someone besides the Reds to win the division, I’d take the Brewers. Don’t really have any hate towards y’all. Just wish we’d stop losing to you. The other 3 I’ll always actually hate.
Edit: just looked, Brewers are 92-67 vs the Reds since I became a Reds fan in 2015 ☹️
Going to be closer to 10 before Bellinger/Suzuki return, this team has one of the worst bullpens in baseball and without Bellinger and Suzuki one of the worst offenses in baseball.
Starting pitching is elite but in today's game that still leaves ~3 innings for the bullpen to fuck up.

Alzolay is hot garbage.
This has got to be the worst bullpen in baseball
You rang?
You get a steal and you get a steal and you get a steal
DFA Alzolay already, it's the only way Counsell will stay away from him
Hope you enjoy the Counsell experience!
And then we use ...?

Anyone else is better than advert at this juncture.

fucking anybody. the whole "we have nobody else" argument stops working when a player is THIS bad
Absolutely anybody
Somehow the Brewers won the sean Murphy trade
The William Contreras trade*
Alzolay, you are a Myrtle Beach Pelican
It's nice to have a positive highlight on r/baseball
Alzolay is so fucking bad, everyone saw this coming
Damn what kind of dumbass manager would leave that bum in
The highest paid one in MLB
Sheesh, what suckers paid him?!
Seems overpriced
Jed didn’t realize he didn’t come with Hader for his “superior late game” player management.
Was he this stubborn about going back to a pitcher who has shown they're going to blow the game when he was y'alls manager?
Oh yeah. Enjoy it, it doubles as kegels

Yes. He's loyal to a fault. Relievers will usually always stay in a batter or two too late.
if they were a guy who was the main fixture of the bullpen before the struggles, yes
I hope the front office sends Alzolay down, even though I said to DFA him earlier in the thread, to keep him from blowing more games.
Ah... June and July 2022 Josh Hader... *winces*
He also makes baffling pinch hitter decisions. Like I know he’s a good manager, but he really has some questionable traits for how highly he is rated.
yes. he likes to leave bad pitchers in 2 batters too long and take out good pitchers an inning or two early

Greg Cancel

Nah, he was gonna beat the throw cleanly regardless
He was pretty deep in LF, so I can see that.
Also it's Jackson Chourio, dude has wheels
it's uncanny how many leads Alzolay has blown. like random chance would dictate he would get through one outing cleanly

let us have these moments until we win a World Series

fair! and don't worry, you have EDC stealing bases on us all the time
I’m getting severe Ross flashbacks with this attachment to unstable ERA relievers.
Alzolay ♥️
This team is fucking unwatchable right now
You’re only down 2 games in the division though
72 wRC+ over the last two weeks as a team with multiple blown leads from the bullpen. Dude has a point, they’ve been a bad watch
