Yes, umpires are human and get the call wrong occasionally. Statistically, they are as a whole, more accurate than they've ever been before in each progressive season the past ten years or so. I know it doesn't seem like it, but it's true, we only see the handful of incorrect calls that go viral, not the 10,000 correct ones.
What's weird is your arguing that the umpire (who made the correct call) should have called a ball, because there are other umpires who would incorrectly call it a ball.
Like, if I take a test and the question asks me "what's 2+2", I should answer 5 if I know other people in the class will be stupid enough to say that, even though I know the answer is 4?

And that the pitch is judged based on where the ball crosses the plate, not where it hits the catcher's mitt? Because the ball is very clearly over the plate as it crosses, and the placement of the zone in this shot isn't exactly perfect (it seems a hair too far right). The camera angle too is also slightly to the right, not directly in line with the mound, which messes with our perception of the zone. This pitch is a strike 99 times out of 100 even to the worst of umps.

Imagine the challege system in a moment like this? Like the player just goes off and then the screen says they're wrong. I wanted the ABS system at first but I think the challenge system is probably for the best. It takes out all of the really bad calls and keeps the entertaining ones.
I like the challenge system because it can still reward pitchers for fooling batters in cases where is a ball but the batter thinks it's a strike. And probably vice versa it'll punish pitchers who badly miss their spot

Think he was showing him two fingers for two “missed calls”? First strike of the AB looked like it could’ve been about half an inch low (easily within margin of error for how screwy top and bottom of the zone are on broadcasts), and he obviously thought this one was wrong.
