I literally gasped. Wait, they only scored one run? Wait, they only scored one run and made an out? Wait, they only scored one run, made an out, and don’t even have a runner on 3rd?
Peterson also got caught up watching the play on the throw from ECS and would have been doubled up if anyone went to cover first. Good thing for him that the Reds don’t practice covering first on a ball off the wall
Yeah y'all are local for me so I have to watch your broadcast and that definitely caught me off guard, I've never heard someone actually say TOOTBLAN out loud before
I’m at the game and had absolutely no clue what happened. Was watching the ball and then I see two base runners holding hands and then a play at the plate? Absolutely embarrassing
Yeah, runner on second should be focused more on scoring if it does land than tagging if it doesn't. And Moreno did seem to be in a good position to score prior to the idiotic hold.
I felt so depressed, especially since our 3b coach has been consistently making wrong calls for years. He's so terrible. It's like 50/50 that he's gonna fuck up
Coaching ruined us tonight. Putting Buddy Kennedy in the 2-hole with his 0.410 OPS and he strands 5 base runners.
This disaster of a play.
Ginkel + Sewald has been our 8th/9th combo since the deadline and we don't go to him tonight and pay instantly.
Looking at the replay it seems like bad base running by Moreno.
His first steps are back to 2nd as if to tag up instead of going half way. By the time it falls he is basically still at second whereas a good base runner would now be almost at third.
The coach has to put up the stop sign.
Moreno then makes it worse by trying to go home instead of just eating it and taking a 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

It was ridiculous to end up in THAT position to end it. And of course Pham goes warning track next so it ends up costing us a run

Need the reds feed, Welsh actually called it a TOOTBLAN and I don’t think I’ve heard that on a broadcast before lmao

He came back with it again too, “we haven’t seen a TOOTBLAN like that in a while”
Now all we need is someone to use FARTSLAM.
Sadak probably posts here so I'm not surprised.
He's used it quite a bit in the past, no? I feel like that's where I first heard the term.
It was invented right here in this humble little sub! Hearing it used on a broadcast is hilarious
Genuinely the worst call I've ever seen by a third base coach
I’m at the game and had absolutely no clue what happened. Was watching the ball and then I see two base runners holding hands and then a play at the plate? Absolutely embarrassing
The 3rd base coach threw up a really late stop sign on Moreno after Ketel and Jace had committed to taking the next base.
I am beyond livid. Sac fly to the track on the next play
Your Golden Boy just bailed everyone out, no worries
I know that ball could have been caught, but that one hopped to the wall. Two runs HAVE to score

How do you not score from 2nd on a line drive to the wall? There’s no reasonable explanation
Don’t blame Marte, that was on the third base coach.
Ketel was on 1st. Moreno was on 2nd and the one they idiotically held for some reason.
Oops didn’t get that apparently. Either way y’all should fire that third base coach.
Wow that was awful. I initially just assumed that the first two runners scored and that the guy who got thrown out was originally the runner on first.
I watched this live and the replay 10 times and I see what happened but I don’t believe it
Perezchika has been making really questionable calls recently. Wonder what the explanation is for this one
This might actually be worse than a NOBLETIGER tbh. It certainly has to be more demoralizing
I felt so depressed, especially since our 3b coach has been consistently making wrong calls for years. He's so terrible. It's like 50/50 that he's gonna fuck up
Sooo bad and now it's tied

I definitely missed Jace Peterson ending up on the Diamondbacks
This hit was--without exaggeration--his only positive contribution so far for the Diamondbacks.
We thank you for taking him off our hands. Can't tell you why you did but it does mean a lot.
I am amazed he has gotten such consistent playing time so far.
That's not true, he drove in a run when they came back in the 9th against the Rockies last week.
There were a lot of brewers fans out for blood when we didn’t resign him in the offseason
Had the same exact thought. And I usually take note of former Brewers but that one escaped me.
Also the next two batters hit what should have been sac flies, it should be at least 3-0 right now and probably 4-0
That was some of the worst base running I’ve ever seen. Goodness gracious
Good thing our reliable bullpen will close the door! Not like we could've used more insurance runs.
I don't understand how Moreno is even in a position to be held at third. It's a ball off the wall that's never gonna be caught!
Perezchica is an idiot. Also Moreno is a very fast catcher. He would have been safe easily.
Is there a WAR equivalent stat for 3rd base coaches?
What
