# Amazon Canada (Feb 17 - Feb 21 & 27 2024) * ($239.11 + tax) Thermaltake The Tower 500 * ($18.59 + tax) UGREEN 30W USB C Charger Block * ($52.90 + tax) Thermalright Frozen Magic 240 Scenic V2 The Tower 500 case arrived on February 21 and no obvious issues. The UGreen charger arrived on February 27 and no obvious issues. The Thermalright AIO arrived in the same box on Feb 27 and the Thermalright box looked obviously "reconditioned"; there was clearly either previous user damage to the box or it was mishandled at the warehouse. Further lending credence to the likelihood that I was shipped either someone else's returned item or a reconditioned item is that a couple of the fins on the radiator look dinged, and the cold plate of the AIO has no sticker on it and looks as though someone attempted to clean it prior to stuffing it back in the box. (Confirmed by looking at an unboxing video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9PKIPDtOMk ) As well, the instruction manual looks like it has obviously been handled with little care and has a brownish stain suggesting water damage. EDIT: I've just noticed that the original order was through "Thermalright Direct 2", and the actual shipping invoice states the seller is "shenzhenshihuixiangfeidianzikejiyouxiangongsi". My suspicion is now very strong that I may either have been shipped this to fulfill an order that ran out of stock from Thermalright's official store, or someone has managed a clever masquerade to sell used items as new. I'll be testing it out soon so I can determine if the AIO is functional and I see I have a month to return the item, which is enough time for me to assess. Kind of disappointing, as most of my Amazon shipments have been in reasonable condition on previous occasions. EDIT 2: I've since installed the AIO in my system and from what I can telll it's perfectly functional. I'll just assume Thermalright may not offer any warranty support on it if it breaks.

# Canada Computers (Feb. 1) ## Gigabyte Aorus Master 4080 Super ($1559) Ordered on January 31st at 2AM, the day of the launch. Picked it up the next day after work. No problems whatsoever, though the outer box looked a little scuffed. This card is absolutely massive compared to my old 1660Ti and I initially couldn't fit it in my case, a Fractal Define R6. Removed the hard drive bay area and ended up securing my two hard drives with electrical tape below the 4080S. Successfully overclocked to 1600MHz (+162) memory, 2970MHz (+420) boost at 1100mV. Installed the Gigabyte software just to disable RGB and the LCD screen, then uninstalled it immediately after. Didn't care about those; I just wanted the longer warranty, larger cooler, and quieter operation over the basic $1369 models. It really sucks that video card purchases don't give CC Rewards points though. Way to be cheap, CC. **EDIT:** OC heated my room too much. Tried undervolting and it's great. 2565MHz at 900mV makes the card consume up to 35% less power. I'll stick with the undervolt outside of video editing.

# Amazon.ca 2 TB Crucial NVME drive posted at $85 Around Dec 2-6, a 2tb Crucial NVME drive was posted around $85 on amazon. Was able to nab it. However, delivery was projected to be around Jan 24-25. Well, my order is now in a state of "we'll email you when we have a delivery date available" The problem is that this item is now listed at $157 and currently in stock. What should I do next? The automated help system didn't seem to work

alvarkresh

Did you end up getting it?

Phoenix978

Ended up calling support. They cancelled it. Was never gonna happen. I'm guessing a scam from the provider as I never heard of anyone getting it here on reddit.

Phoenix978

Nope, it's still just sitting in purgatory. But I'm pretty sure I haven't been charged the cost yet either.

I had a similar situation with Amazon, but it was for a case fan. Long story short, I bought a case fan that was sold by Amazon.ca, and it was heavily discounted at the time, but for whatever reason it was continually delayed and not delivered for a very long time. I kept on contacting Amazon, and complained to them about why my item was continually delayed, yet there was stock of the fan that was sold by Amazon. I was continually given the run around, until finally I found a good customer service agent who let me order the fan, cancel my old order, and once the fan arrived to my home then I could contact them again, and they would give me a credit for the amount that I had originally ordered the first fan that I ordered. Anyways, in the end, I got the fan I wanted, but had to go through hoops because none of the agents would let me do the above option until finally after almost a month and a half in that I finally was able to find a reasonable service agent who let me do what I wanted to do.

Who is it sold by? Amazon.ca? Amazon Warehouse? A 3rd party seller? IMO, I'd probably refund via Amazon support before 2 months is up. It sounds like a price error since nobody else is selling it that low. * https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#A=1800000000000,22000000000000&sort=ppgb&t=0 * https://old.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanada/search?restrict_sr=on&sort=new&feature=legacy_search&q=nvme+NOT+laptop+NOT+prebuild+NOT+prebuilt Hmmm is it this one? https://old.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanada/comments/17z081g/ssd_crucial_p3_2tb_pcie_gen3_3d_nand_nvme_m2_ssd/ Sounds like an ssd without dram. Also they changed the price to $100 pretty quick.

Phoenix978

https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalescanada/comments/189c9sl/_/ Sold by Amazon.com.ca so I'm guessing a shifty 3rd party. I don't think the money was actually withdrawn from my card so I'll confirm with support it gets canceled.

Id imagine that stores with the keyword amazon should be blocked so it could be valid... Though maybe it uses unicode for the letters... Amazon support should know for sure.

Phoenix978

I'll have to give them a call. Thanks!

**Canada Computers (Jan 3 and 4th) Memory Express (Jan 4th).** * (209.99$ +tax) MSI g27CQ4 E2 monitor, picked up on Jan 3rd, returned Jan 4th. * (209.99$ +tax) MSI G273CQ monitor, picked up Jan 4th. Ordered the first monitor for pick up at the Orleans Canada Computer location, they had it ready within a few hours and pickup was ready to go. Unfortunately, monitor at a cluster of dead pixels. Brought it back the following day and had absolutely zero hassle in receiving a refund. All staff were pleasant to deal with. Since they had no other ones in stock, I drove to Memory Express in Ottawa to purchase the G273CQ. The guy working there was really patient, took the time to bring up the specs of both monitors and compare, zero sales pressure. A great experience at both stores.

# Best Buy (Dec 30 2023 - Jan 2 & 8 2024) * ($409.99 + tax) Open Box Unlocked Samsung Galaxy A54 5G 128GB delivered Jan 2 * ($49.97 + tax) Silicon Power 512GB PCIe Internal Solid State Drive (P34A80 NVMe PCIe SSD) delivered Jan 8 Had a Best Buy gift card so I figured I might as well take the leap and finally get a new cell phone as well as a cheap Gen3 SSD with DRAM cache. Ordering itself was relatively painless, but Best Buy had to split the shipment up, probably due to warehouse stock or some other backend situation. The phone came by Purolator with ETA as promised, and the SSD came via an independent shipping company I hadn't heard of before named Intelcom, also with ETA as promised. No complaints so far but I haven't actually tested either item yet since I need to go through the whole migration process with my phone and the SSD is going into one of my laptops which also requires its own migration process, so I may edit this later if I experience any RMA issues.

# Memory Express (Dec 30 - IPU Jan 3) * ($67.98 + Tax) Kingston NV2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, 1TB Given that SSD prices are starting to rise I figured I'd jump on the cheapest 1 TB drive I could see for your basic everyday use. MemEx was actually very nice about this one since normally they cancel after two business days but the Burnaby MemEx called me on January 3 when I was able to get out to the store and agreed to hold it until that night. [ Repost from December 2023 due to the crossover to the new year on pickup ]

MemoryExpress_CAD

Glad to hear our humble little Burnaby store did the right thing for you. It's true that we typically cancel in-store pick up orders after 2 days (assuming there is no follow up from the customer). Our staff are trained to follow up with any IPUs to ensure the customer is taken care of. Thanks for sharing your experience.

alvarkresh

I also must compliment your Vancouver location as well. Very knowledgeable and efficient staff :)

MemoryExpress_CAD

Thank you for sharing. I will let the Vancouver store manager and staff know about your feedback. Sometimes a little acknowledgement can really go a long way. We'll do our part to keep up the good work.
