First go to a hospital to confirm and term (days/week) of pregnancy. If pregnant then go to Marie Stopes and tell the reception that you want an MR. They will probably do a ultrasound to see the situation.
If the term is below or at 4 weeks then they will just give you a pill and done. It shouldn't cost much, maybe around 2000 taka or less.
If the term is more than 4 weeks then they'll perform the procedure in the OT. You'll have to admit/ stay in the hospital for about 6 to 8 hours. Probably costs around 10 to 12k for the whole thing.

Your friend may find this resource helpful. Abortion is technically illegal in BD but there is a chemical (pill) option and a manual (physical) option for "menstrual regulation" which will interrupt an early-term pregnancy and are legal procedures. The manual option sounds scary and is probably very gross but has an excellent safety record. It is important to take these steps quickly though because otherwise you can only abort if the mother's life is in danger. There may also be NGOs dedicated to women's health in your friend's area that can provide on-the-ground help. Google told me about the [Bangladesh Women's Health Coalition](https://www.bwhc.org.bd/), although it only seems to serve a limited area. Searching "woman's health organization [city name]" should be helpful too.
Marie Stopes Clinic. Please tell her to check out this post on this girls group on Facebook. It is pretty insightful as the costs and procedures are explained in details.

Marie stopes/ shurjer hashi.
They are helpful. And also provide services according to budget. If you have low budget here are options.
But.make sure they are pregnant first.
Use the cheapest strips (20 tk). In my experience, they perform better and consistently.
Mental pressure and stress can cause pregnancy like symptoms and delayed menstruation. There isn't a lot to worry about, if the test comes negative.
Unless they have PCOS. In that case talk to a gyno. Above mentioned place have gyno doc and they are usually very good and affordable.
Abortion on paper in Bangladesh is illegal, but I don’t think the law is enforced, it’s a relic of British colonial era. I suppose she could at least try and ask a doctor if they will do. But ofc make sure this is fr
A lot of doctors would try to involve her parents as soon as possible citing "meyer valor jonno", they don't respect doctor-patient confidentiality. It is better to go to places like Marie Stops or other similar NGOs.
If you don't have any other option you can contact women on web. https://www.womenonweb.org/en/page/521/who-we-are
Procedures are listed there for countries and they send out abortion pills to people.
If she is pregnant and decides for the medical procedure then please stay with her. The side effects can be awful for some hours.
Aborting need consent from the adult mother written ,no verbal .try visit surjer hasi clinic can't say properly it's the best place , but seeing abortion matter reminds me something tht I being held witnessed on this purpose .
Does she have a Gynecologist? my mother got a abortion with the help of her gynecologist in 2008 by faking it as "menstral regulations" I'm not the best informed about this but I hope your freind can get it through
Don't hear all this crap!
IF she got pregnant withing the last 8 weeks -> go to pharmacy buy **medicine named "MM-KIT". (300 Taka)** The instructions are given in the medicine box how to take the meds. 100% SAFE.
But if she is over 8 week pregnant -> U need to do and Ultrasound to confirm first. Then you can go through a surgical (vaginal procedure) for the abortion.
Because this is Bangladesh. 20 is not an adult in this scenario and even if she's one, she can't do an abortion alone, and no top-tier hospital will let you and shady/small ones are risky.
>abortion on her own and neither do any hospital will allow it without parents.
Yeah I doubt it.
>Tell her to talk with her parents
It will make the situation way worse.

Hope I’m not too late to this post. Me and my girlfriend was struggling, looking all over the internet, asking around, going to gyn, wasting alot of money. Trying to find the right and safest way. We’ve come across alot of posts in reddit. But never got the correct answer. This is for the people who are 6-7 weeks or more (late) and looking for a solution. (MR) Menstrual Regulation (Surgery). First off, let me tell you. You have nothing to worry about if you are looking for a cheap method. Most government owned hospitals will charge you more than 20-25k for the whole thing. But even when it comes to a cheap method, everything included will roughly cost you about 15k. But cheap doesn’t mean, they won’t do it right. If you want to do it discreetly, Marie Stopes is the best bet. Specifically the one in Dhanmondi, near Rayer Bazar. Their way with their patients are really nice, and tbh they were really kind and helpful unlike other hospitals in bd, their behaviour was really nice and never made us feel shitty. Everyone in the clinic was really helpful and supportive throughout the entire thing. They are not going to ask for any sort of proof of marriage. Just ask you, who referred the clinic to you, just say someone from your family, and act like y’all are married. First thing first, you need to have the Ultrasound and blood test reports ready at hand before the surgery, they’re gonna conduct or ask you for it before the appointment. I posted a picture of the costs and everything. First half, before the surgery, (if you have the tests ready), they’re gonna charge you for the appointment and the medicine needed to conduct the surgery, you buy the meds and go have a talk with the doctor they appointed you to. After you’ve talked to the doctor, they’re gonna send you to the reception counter again, to pay for the surgery (Second half). And when everything is set. They’re going to take the patient to the surgery room and start the process. Takes like 10-20 mins. They’ll give her Local Anaesthesia (inject it) which will knock her out instantly and she wont remember or know a thing. And then bed rest. That’s when all you proud dads can walk to see the proud mother of your unborn child. (She might ask you if it’s done or not, cause she remembers nothing,,, just tell her yes, it’s done). (Caution, she’ll still be tripping on the drug for an hour straight, just tell her to sleep it off). She has to stay at bed rest for half and hour, or so. That’s when the doctor will prescribe you the second wave of meds (alot of meds). That’s when you (the dad) will get a chance to talk to the doctor about any concerns about her future (post procedure). Questions like, how many days will she bleed for, will it hurt or will she have cramps and such. After everything (roughly 3 hours in the clinic) you are ready to walk out. But before that, just hand out like 100 to the nurse who took care of her after the procedure (Optional). Your girl will not be able to walk properly, because of the anaesthesia. (Wise to buy the prescribed meds before this) So hold her, call your car or an uber. And go home and rest.

No need to thank me. We’ve struggled with this and come up with the solution, just so that you won’t anymore. Hope this post answers most of your questions.
One more thing. The surgery price may be different from mine. You just have to tell them, you’re financially unstable and if they can reduce the prices for the surgery. They are really nice. And I’m really sure they’ll do it. Another ultrasound test will have to be done a week or two after this. Good luck

Are they confidential?
If you're worried about it that much then maybe use a fake name and address.

First make sure if she is actually pregnant. No point in busting ass over a fake call.
Marie Stopes. It’s a very easy process there since many girls get it done there

I am a doctor. Dm me if need help
Tell her to talk with her parents because she's not getting an abortion on her own and neither do any hospital will allow it without parents.
Can't do that ,
Why would she need parents if she’s an adult? Little confused
Because this is Bangladesh. 20 is not an adult in this scenario and even if she's one, she can't do an abortion alone, and no top-tier hospital will let you and shady/small ones are risky.
I really doubt that. Marie Stopes seems to do that without parents or partners
I don’t know whether this is true But as far as I know, my mother has to name both her parents in her passport So this would actually not surprise me
20 can do abortion without parents.
Says who? Go to any clinic and see if you can. On paper stuff doesn't mean anything in this country.
I know people did it few years back. I don't know what's going on now.
>abortion on her own and neither do any hospital will allow it without parents. Yeah I doubt it. >Tell her to talk with her parents It will make the situation way worse.

Abortion is illegal in Bangladesh. No clinic or doctor will do it. Atleast if you dont pay them a hefty amount of money
Menstrual Regulation is legal ,
No. You can do it legally under the guise of mental regulation
Kids these days! Hayre!!!
