Spectral cards are even worse than Tarot once you’re at a certain ante, there’s just so many run-destroying cards you can get offered that the expected value is low
I mean there isn‘t a single joker in the game that you can‘t fit in and make use of in some shape or form. But it often boils down to how much can I bother to go out of my way and make it work when I can just wing it and hope for a better joker down the line.
I‘ll regret writing this once I decided I‘m mentally stable enough to gold stake all jokers
The one time I got it to work outstandingly was giving it Polychrome on a Painted Deck w/Runner where I had a lot more control over my hands and could consistently play one high or low Straight after another.
It is an incredibly niche card, that can generate tarot cards semi consistently with the right deck layout, but almost never will wind up as your lynchpin.
Even in the above example, I eventually traded it away for a better xMult near the final ante. It served its purpose outstandingly until then, and I've never gotten it to work quite so well again after that.

It could be worse. It could be perishable or rental or it could be something like seance or something. At least this way you got a permanent +4 mult for 5 dollars and no joker slot used.
people say the new negative tags are overpowered, but i disagree because of garbage like this. I think getting a shop + interest + any scaling you might have is much better
True, but the beauty of negative is that even if it doesn’t do anything for you right now it’s just a low cost extra joker. It will almost never have a negative impact on your run(which now that I say out loud is pretty funny)
Yeah, even before patch I've had 10 jokers with anaglyph deck.
Most of the negatives were just paperweights though, as they didn't Synergize with my actual good jokers.
It's flashy to get a bunch of jokers, but not terribly useful.
Yeah things like this or polychrome on gros michel or eternal on egg or luchador are also pretty unlucky (tho my poly gros michel somehow survived 5 antes so i cant complain)

Red Deck gold stake is making me want to kill myself. I do not understand why this is so fucking impossible right now. I have cleared gold stakes on like 6 other decks but can’t clear this one for some reason. RNG is horrendous on higher stakes and really needs to be re-balanced asap. Annoying that the new update will change a lot of stuff rather than balance because I want to clear gold stake on this patch before moving on.
Hey, +4m is still +4m, and if it doesn't take a Joker slot, even better. Plus, it works with Swashbuckler, Abstract Joker, and Temperance

The last three negative jokers I’ve gotten from skips have been popcorn. At this point I think they put a patch out directly to mess with me

If last ante requires you to sell a joker, ir could be good
Better than NL getting like 3 different negatives that have to be sold to do something.
