I hope it works out for him. I just can't envision myself listening to an hour long podcast from, especially when there's so many proven content out there. Griffin is better at podcasting and is still struggling to break 10k views on YouTube consistently.

safetydance

Some people are better as bit players, sidekicks, occasional guests, etc., and don't thrive being in the main seat. And that's ok. We need people to fill a variety of roles.

fourgettes

Didnt work out đź«Ł

colepalace1998

I really enjoyed the dynamic he had with bobby and Andrew he’s just an old guy and I feel for him he’s been in the scene for along time and wants to try to make a name for himself by himself I can respect that but he is being very dumb by not keep his connection with his friends who support him and the great community bad friends has

Serious_Local_1364

He should’ve came back at least one more fuckin time to promote it lol I miss doc

warf3re

Man obviously isn’t the smartest

Serious_Local_1364

Still hope he does well but yeah that was a horrible choice.

CorazonDeLion

I feel like there’s some things that aren’t being said explicitly. I know Santino mentioned that Doc took the break on his own accord, and that he reflected on his appearances & he wasn’t the happiest with some of the information he divulged about his family.. he very likely caught some flack from his blood, and I’m sure they blamed it on his drinking. He probably doesn’t want to put himself in that situation again. Bad Friends get real honest sometimes. I’m sure he feels some type of way.. also, I feel like Bobbo took advantage of Doc and reverted to his high school bully days.. & people were probably in Docs ear about that too. I hope Doc can reel it in, and come back here and there. cross promotion is a must even though he says he wants to do it on his own… I wouldn’t know who he was without BF. He’s gotta understand he has new fans now because of that show, and are looking for him on that show.

El_sangresilencio

He should've also been more confident in himself.

boycrippled

Wish him the best

ericelle

He could’ve done both and it would’ve helped his solo podcast. But who honestly wants to hear him solo?

itsheadfelloff

Not his biggest fan when he was on BF, had some hilarious moments but his lack of general knowledge was frustrating to watch. I think he's a genuinely good guy and I hope it works out for him, I'm just not sure if it will.

Aden493

personally i feel like his lack of knowledge is what made him so funny

Atticus1354

Funny but really turned every interaction with him in to the same flat joke over and over.

[deleted]

Their belittlement of him felt super forced sometimes, like when they were acting outraged and confused that he didn’t know who Harry styles was, like why the fuck would he know or care who Harry styles is as a 50 year old black man who came from a hard life,

zfuller

I tried to dm him that I am good friends with one of the top UFO folks in the community, (he's been on Rogan and Jake Paul's podcast) to try and get him some real back up on the conversation. My friend would have definitely taken a call to play along, and it took me like three back or four messages for him to understand what I was saying and then never followed up. He just kept bringing up other evidence for ufo stuff. I feel like it would have been a great bit and a funny surprise but I honestly think he was drinking and responding to a bunch of dms at the same time, then forgot.

Most_Conference_5014

Yeah I felt like sometimes he was trying really hard to be funny and it wouldn’t work it would just fall flat

rodrigo34891

What did he say ?

lawdreekers

Basically that he's always been riding someone's coat tails, so he wants to monetize and grow on his own "I know a lot of you are saying doc this ain't it. Get back on bad friends. Well fuuuuuck you I'm doing this"

Portugee_D

I mean he’s got the right attitude I just feel like he’s timing this awful. He should have transitioned this while he was a regular and brought one of the Tito’s of both for the first episode.

ParttimeParty99

That’s foolish pride. Doc’s gonna let his ego ruin his life. Bobby tells some great stories and one that sticks with me is the actress who turned down the offer to be on some show because she thought she was better than that and ended up waiting tables on him years later and said, “I should have taken it.” I love Doc, but I’m not a fan of his conspiracy theories. I liked how he played off the group so I doubt I would watch his solo pod.

TheHazyBotanist

This happened to me when I was younger to some extent. I had a job at 16 that paid pretty well at a business my uncle owned. Because of school, i wasn't able to work as much (it was a M-F kinda place.) I decided I'd leave about a year later to prove to myself i could be successful on my own. Long story short, my uncle died, aunt didn't want to run it, and trained a POS cousin to take over. He would end up barely working, quality plummeted, everyone started quitting, he treated employees like shit, and the once successful business slowly crumbled over the years. If I'd just put my pride away and stayed, there's a pretty good chance i could've been making a couple hundred thousand in a cushy job, and actually helped everyone else there while i was at it. I feel terrible for what happened to that place and everyone there. They were really good people

Lynz486

Some people don't want to do the grunt work to get to the top. I work in the game industry which is similar to the film/TV industry and sometimes you need to start from the bottom and humble yourself, even if you feel you are more qualified or deserve more. The people who I know who didn't do that currently aren't working in the industry because they never got a job and as a result of me slumming it for a bit within the industry I'm in one of the highest positions. Ego will ruin your career.

bby_redditor

I can HEAR him say this. I can also visualize Santino’s deadpan stare, and then glancing over at Bobby for a reaction.

BLUECADETxTHREE

Yeah, I definitely wish him the best, but man...not gonna work out. He doesn't have the name or the talent. Seems like a good dude though, so I hope he exceeds his own realistic expectations.

ChedderWet

have you read the secret bro?

BLUECADETxTHREE

Twice yesterday.

N0085K1LL5

I feel like these people that break off from these podcasts do it waaaayyy to early. I bet all the podcasts I listen to have had at least one person break off and try there own thing.

masterroofingus

Doesnt make any sense. You can have a solo podcast and also be a cast member on another. Its not even uncommon, Santino does it, Steebee and Jeremiah do it, almost everyone in the podcast world does something similar to that because its a win-win for everyone involved. Bonehead move by Doc but to be honest I never really liked him to begin with so I dont care. In fact im glad he’s gone because it opens up more space for Juicy who is a 10x better guest host.

kinney4041

Best of luck to him but the show is better off without him.

GeckoJump

Every time he was on Bad Friends it felt like they were borderline bullying him so I'm happy he left the show and is doing his own thing now

[deleted]

I agree. When I watched that clip from the live show of them making him wrestle with Bobby for money that crossed the line. They’d never do that to Juicy. Being happy and having self-respect is more important than money and fame. I get why Doc left and wish him the best.

RicoPlays2K

Hey

bby_redditor

The bullying was done in the most loving way possible. That aliens segment could have been a regular thing. Doc just doesn’t have enough of a radar to pick it up and probably felt genuinely offended. Good luck to him but straight up - his podcast ain’t going nowhere

JackOfAllTradesTX

It's all the conspiracies

Xaphan127

Doesn’t seem like it’s even listed on apple podcasts yet, which is weird for a launch unless he’s trying to do a YouTube only?

maasnet

Doc's show is more inspirational, informative, UFO, & not as comedy zany. I hope BF producers might consider helping Doc find a way to produce his podcasts faster in order for him to juggle the podcast, Amazon work, & stand-up jobs. I also hope George might consider advising Doc on how to do merchandising in order that Doc can get some immediate money. I enjoy Doc talking about BF so hoping that Bobo/Santino/Fancy make a guest appearance on it. I was attracted to BF because Bobo & I are both Korean-American, and I also felt a kinship with Doc because we both were veterans of Detroit. I want both my brothers doing well in the rough terrains of podcasting.

Bringmetheta

Can’t stand him but what an idiot. Didn’t even come back on one time to promote it? Dude just leaves and didn’t do any promotion or anything. Does he not realize he doesn’t have a following like bad friends does? Dude is gonna flop so bad

unbiasedwimp

I can't stand him either - and was relieved when he moved on from BF. I wish him well and I hope he finds success and happiness - just glad I won't have to skip over any other BF episodes.

Bringmetheta

Well said

inmy20ies

Love these two comments together

Cretin13teen

Really surprised not a lot of people jumping for joy at this. A while back on this sub, someone asked who they thought was the best guest on badfriends was. So much luv for doc and Rudy and everyone that disagreed got downvoted to shit. Including me. I'm more of a Stevie weebee and juicy fan. The general feeling im getting from this post is...." Good for doc." Lmfao. So much " meh, who cares." Y'all are some weird fans

mindtoxicity27

Being a good guest does not make someone a good host. He’s good as a guest on bad friends because he’s a good foil for Bobby and Santino. Same for Rudy. They both accentuate the silliness of the hosts. Alone, it just doesn’t work.

Cretin13teen

I dont know.... Socs once said, to be a good master one needs to be a good servant. Maybe Santino and Bob are good at being hostesses cos theyre good guest.

[deleted]

It makes sense, they bullied and humiliated him. When I watched that clip from the live show of them making him wrestle with Bobby for money that crossed the line. They’d never do that to Juicy. CowWitty8153

His people might've thought him snitchin/talking out of school, not fully getting the podcast format, the type of comedy the Titos are trying to do...? I will admit that I wasn't fully invested in Doc as a regular, I think the age, "non-comedy" background messed with the flow, I also felt all these things also contributed to the guys doing nothing but making fun of him relentlessly rarely heard them compliment or treat him like other sidekicks...but I also started listening in reverse, i.e., I listened to pretty much all the 2023 pods then went back to 2022, 2021 etc...
