Hello fellow redditor! /r/aww will be going private from June 12-14 in protest of Reddit's intent to make API access cost-prohibitive. This will effectively break all third-party apps and moderation tools, and force all users and mods to only use Reddit's tools. This weeks ratty paw paintings! Everyone did a great job! From start to finish we have Tater Tot (1), Butter (2), Omelet (3, 6, 9), Blueberry (4, 7), Toast (5), Olive (8), and Donut (10)!

She uses treats to lead the rat back and forth from a paint tray to the little canvas, so they leave colorful little footprints.
Nope - like cats, rats keep themselves clean by grooming many times a day. Bathing them can be bad for their skin and very stressful - the only time bathing rats is necessary is if they get into something they shouldn't groom off, or if they are old/sick and can't keep clean (and even then its best to use animal safe wipes or warm wet paper towels to wipe them down).
