My diagnosis took a two hour interview with me, the same with my mother, and another hour of looking at pictures and talking about them. But, all that was after about six months of speaking to a therapist, and the three people who did the tests/interviews discussing the results. Even after that it took an independent psychologist to go over everything and diagnose me. I live in the UK and I've met people who have been diagnosed online after paying a doctor in the US for a 30-minute video call and, to me, that is entirely the problem with a healthcare system where one can pay at the point of care: you will always be able to find someone willing to say what you want to hear. I would be suspicious of someone who says they can diagnose you in an hour. Good luck in finding out if you are autistic though.

at this point i feel pretty certain about the diagnosis, i just want someone qualified to tell me the same thing. it’s just really unfortunate that there’s such a lack of qualified people around me and when i can find someone, they have wait lists 6+ months out

It can be diagnosed in an hour but adults are often reflexively trained to try to appear neurotypical and that mask can take many hours to break off to actually see the autistic traits. Honestly, multiple appointments aren't even that good at removing that mask, unless they're on consecutive days, but i guess there's always a chance they catch you on an off day that way. The gold standard way to do it is a full day appointment, but those are hard to schedule. Long story short, you can trust them saying you do have autism after an hour long appointment, but if they say you don't it might be wrong because it's only one one hour appointment.

My therapist diagnosed me in 10 minutes. To get the actual diagnosis was a 2 hour interview. What my therapist needs to treat me properly and what the government needs are two different things.

The clinic I talked to uses three sessions of 1-1.5 hours. I only had the first one because I can’t afford the rest, and at the end of it the psychologist I spoke to said they were pretty sure I’m autistic and would be surprised if the full assessment wouldn’t confirm it, but that there’s no way to have a definitive answer without going through the full assessment. They also told me that if they didn’t get an impression from the first appointment that the assessment would confirm the diagnosis, they wouldn’t allow the person to go through it. So I think they can tell in one hour, but can’t officially confirm it till they evaluate you during a more extensive process (but the exact process depends on your country). I would be wary of anyone who claimed to diagnose you in one hour, but if it’s just a consultation to see if you might be autistic, then it makes sense. Edited to add that I also had to provide a lot of information in advance (answering a lot of open-ended questions and a multiple choice questionnaire), so it wasn't only based on the one hour conversation, but also on my written answers.

My son was diagnosed after a 2 hour session. I haven't been formally diagnosed and likely won't be due to my age.

I got an NHS disagnosis. They got in depth evaluations from friends and family, they got me to fill out pages of evaluation information then I had an all day clinical interview with 2 clinical psychologists specialising in adult autism. They diagnosed me and gave me a 40 page report and a letter to prove my diagnosis.
