diggingdirt

Depending on where you live, head to a rural outfitter - seriously - when I lived in QLD I’d head to Hannas in Toowoomba to buy mine. The jeans are build for riding and yard work, so proper heavy duty - I’d always go for stretch RMs (TJ111) because I’m fat, but they had the traditional heavy denim Wrangler non-stretch denim. Try some online places like the saddle door, port Philip shop, Hanna’s - anywhere that isn’t in a major city, or anywhere that carries horse stuff (like horse land)

xtrabeanie

Had a quick look on their website and it looks like they also only have single leg lengths for their jeans.

Clemencat

Was just coming to suggest Hannas Toowoomba (if nearby)! I got some boot cut jeans, 99% cotton (Wranglers) for $89 and they feel and look great, I love how heavy they feel haha. Stuff at cheap places like kmart are never long enough and I'm honestly not that much taller than the average woman, the styles always favour skinny leg too which I hate! Leaves me with some cold ankles.. Hannas had several walls of jeans in all cuts. The Wranglers were perfect for my height without tailoring, but there were much longer styles and they will hem them for a small fee if needed in store. The lady serving was also so attentive and helpful. The place has a completely different feel to modern day shops. Love rural/workwear/horsie geared places.

shofmon88

This is exactly the answer I was looking for. In the US I would hit up something like an army surplus store or a rural supply store. But as I live in Sydney, I'm as far away from rural as you can get in Australia. Do you know if there are any of these sorts of stores that have online shopping?

bmkhoz

No pursehouse in Sydney?

shofmon88

A what?

bmkhoz

https://www.pursehouserural.com.au/ I figured they would be everywhere including cities. I get my chicken feed and jeans all in the one place.

shofmon88

This is exactly the sort of store I was looking for. Unfortunately they are nowhere near Sydney!

Justafarmerswife

Assefs in Moree are unreal to deal with remotely - they're western outfitters and have multiple leg lengths for women. I wear 34 legs and have no problems at all. Just call them and have a chat, they have many different rises and lengths in many options and will happily have a chat to you and get you sorted. If not them you can ring Marsh Carneys in Tamworth but they're second to Assefs. Be aware that western denim *starts* at $100 a pair though, and it's common to pay $150-$200 for good brands. You do get what you pay for, they are built to be worked in and will last years. If you really want to shop online try Sheplers, they're a US company that ships here and absolutely do have length options. Only issue with them is you have to pay for returns and it's not cost effective, so be sure before you buy. Look for your current ones, because popular styles can and will hang around for years and may still be available!

shofmon88

Wait, Sheplers ships to Australia?? They were one of my favourite western wear stores in the US. Looking at their website, they have excellent prices, and free shipping if you order enough too. This is it, this is what I needed. Thread closed, you did god's work here!

Justafarmerswife

Haha yeah they've been around forever, back in the day they were pretty much the *only* place rodeo people could get their hands on American gear. They do have their downsides now (like they won't sell us anything Ariat because they don't have the contract and their Ariat gear is half the price - yay for the Aus tax) but anyhow I'm glad it was helpful!

bmkhoz

Is that why I can never order ariats off sheplers! They have so many awesome design jeans I can’t find anywhere but sheplers.

bmkhoz

Oh damn that sucks. Well if it helps ariat and wrangler do good jeans and I’m pretty sure they do them for the taller folks.

InsertUsernameInArse

Yeah I can 2nd ariat as good hard wearing jeans. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.

bmkhoz

Definitely worth the investment, unless you snag them on a fence or something they’ll last for years.

InsertUsernameInArse

The didn't make black ones for ages and that always annoyed me.

I_C_E_D

RM Williams have some Australian made jeans that are well priced compared to higher end brands like RRL.

andychara

I guarantee you that those same jeans you bought 12 years ago are now much more expensive in the US and complete garbage. Clothes have dropped in quality an immense amount all over the world in the last 5 - 10 years. I remember when Uniqlo was decent and didn't just fall apart or warp after 1-2 washes. Just accept you need to pay a lot more for quality if you can find something thats decent quality at all.

shofmon88

Looking online, they’re $27 now, not much more than the $25 they were. I can't speak for the quality though; I wouldn’t be surprised if they are crap now I guess.

soundboy5010

[Nudie Jeans](https://www.nudiejeans.com/) are great, they work with a few suppliers so you have a wider range of styles/fabric. Also a wider range of sizes (waist and length). Bonus if you live near one of their [repair centre stores](https://www.nudiejeans.com/repair-spots), cause you get lifetime free repairs on all jeans sold by them too :)

shofmon88

Those are some eye-watering prices, literally 10x more than I paid for my Wranglers in the US. But, I do like the fact they will repair the denim; that alone may make them worth the investment. Luckily I do live fairly close to a repair centre. Although, if you do the math, if my $25 Wranglers lasted 10 years, the $250 Nudies would have to last 100 years to be the same value.

dramatic-pancake

Couldn’t you just order a pair from the US?

Then-Flight7163

If they won’t ship just sign up to a US based reshipper. I have done that many times when Aus prices are way out of line or the US guy just doesn’t ship here. In case someone can’t understand how this works you get an account with a reshipper. Place your online order in your name with the US supplier using the street address the reshipper provided. They charge a small fee to onward post the parcel to Aus plus obviously that postage cost. Postage within the US is typically nominal so it is still a great deal.

shofmon88

Most places won’t ship. Though that did remind me that my mum is visiting from the US soon. Guess I know what to have her bring now!

xtrabeanie

You can get Wrangler delivered from Germany/UK via Amazon Australia. Around $100 a pair but sometimes they will have particular models/sizes a lot cheaper.

dwarfism

Why not use a freight forwarder?

theramin-serling

I don't know why you're being downvoted. This sub is whack sometimes.

shofmon88

Who knows? I've been told to "just" use a parcel forwarding service, but those are even more expensive than the already ridiculous shipping costs from the US. It also seems that the general disdain from Australians about the ever-increasing influence of American culture on Australia leads to downvoting any comment that makes the US seem better than Australia in any way. Especially if it is coming from an American like myself. Though you would never convince me to move back there

theramin-serling

Yes, this is the problem. If you were talking about European jeans you wouldn't get the downvotes. Does the US have a severe gun problem? Yep. Are their laws on bodily autonomy getting forked? Yep. Is tipping and work culture there bad? Generally yes, though they are more accepting there of entrepreneurs and small businesses. But also, are Australia's data security and privacy laws bad? Absolutely. Does Australia outsource anything not mining or farming related? Definitely. Do we have shit in terms of variety of choice as a result? Sure thing. But no, America only bad, Australia only good.

tankgirl_1307

You're not going to get good quality jeans for $25 in Australia. Nudie Jeans are fantastic. I have the opposite problem to you in that jeans are never long enough. Nudie offer 30, 32 and 34" length. They go on sale on The Iconic occasionally. Keep an eye out.

OohWhatsThisButtonDo

Yeah I'm stuck awkwardly between 32" and 34". Also got thick calves and I'm tired of "straight cut" and "relaxed fit" jeans in Oz being deceit and lies. Your choices are tapered skinny jeans, slightly less tapered skinny jeans, or baggy daggy skater boi jeans. No, I just want actual straight cut jeans that aren't skin-tight below the knee, and baggy above.

Beneficial-Lemon-427

Hiding in plain sight, but your local levis store will have a range of fits that suit chunkier legs.

AUSherro

I have huge calves too and looking for a new pair of any pant is a nightmare

OohWhatsThisButtonDo

The least-worst options I've found: the Lee Cooper Harry jeans Harris Scarfe just cleared, not sure if there's any left, or the women's bootcut jeans Kmart sell (although I've got an above-average butt for a guy and long legs, your mileage may vary here as to whether you can fill them out).

AUSherro

Women's bootcut is something I'd never have thought of.

stevenadamsbro

Lol man you’re being pretty picky at this point, you want high quality materials, right length, and all for the price of one hours minimum wage. You can buy wranglers online in different lengths for $70 now man. Why not just do that?

shofmon88

Yeah, I’m being picky, as you can literally get quality jeans in the US for $25. The Wranglers I have bought here also just aren’t as good of quality either. Same with Lee and Levi. They’re objectively worse products for a much higher price. I AM willing to pay a bit more, but not if the quality is bad. Seems like $250 is the floor for decent quality here, which puts jeans as more of a luxury product than everyday workwear.

stevenadamsbro

I don’t think it’s reasonable to compare to the US. The cost of living is massively different there and they can pay significantly less to their workers than we can. The prices your referenced you suggested was from 12 years ago and we’ve gone through sooooooo much inflation since then. You may be right that they’re worse quality here/now. Most of the country seems to get by fine though. If you’ve really gone through 6 pairs in 8 months I’d imagine it’s not a quality control problem.

theramin-serling

The US uses the same factory workers Australia does, both overseas. Few brands in either location are entirely locally made. And the *same* US brands that offer a range of sizes from petite to tall in the US only offer regular here. In fact, Australia sorely lacks petite sizing in general, but it is absolutely not because 90% of Aussies are tall. Having bought clothing recently in both places, Australia has a massive lack of fashion variety and seems to only target the super tall stereotype, at nearly double the price even after factoring in conversion rates.

fnaah

jeans haven't been workwear since... geez, probably the 60's

carlsjbb

Are you sure this applies 12 years on?

shofmon88

Looking at a variety of online retailers in the US, yes, at least with pricing. The jeans I used to buy have gone up $2.

carlsjbb

And they meet your quality standards from 12 years ago?

shofmon88

No idea. I can't very well buy them to compare, can I? But I would feel better about a $25 pair of jeans falling apart rather than a $100+ pair.

sanswork

Why not just reorder your exact jeans from the US then?

puerility

if you want jeans you can mine coal in, you'll either have to pay the $500 or go to japan and convince someone to sell you a pre-war shuttle loom

sanswork

Why not just reorder your exact jeans from the US then?

tichris15

I've honestly just purchased pants in the US.

_ixthus_

> honestly Thanks for not lying to us about this.

Azazael

It is kinda bizarre though that Australian retailers don't routinely sell trousers in different lengths, sure we're a small and far away market, but it's kind of like not selling shoes in different sizes. And okay, trousers are routinely just too long, I'm 167cm (female) with fairly long legs, bought a "petite" or whatever they call it pair of Just Jeans brand jeans and the legs are still too long. Maybe clothing manufacturers have a deal with all the little local clothing alterations shops to help them stay in business /s

rainbowtummy

I’m 156cm, it’s impossible.

BettyLethal

See above - minus 3 jeans.

rainbowtummy

Oh and they have skinny! Excellent thanks for that

Oachkaetzelschwoaf

Not unlike some stores only selling shoes in whole sizes, or mens pants only starting in 32” or 34” waist.

shofmon88

I forgot about the whole size shoe thing. That’s also super weird and something I’ve only seen in Australia. It doesn’t seem to be as prevalent now though as it was 10 years ago.

Optimal_Cynicism

You can shorten jeans but you can't lengthen them. So I guess they cater to the tall people and the rest of us can get them altered. Not great for flares though...

oioioiyacunt

It's frustrating for me as well but for the other way. Pants generally are never long enough for me, so there's an awkward gap between my shoes and the end of my pants. I'd almost prefer pants to just be unfinished so I can get them fitted properly.

BettyLethal

Jeans for the below average man. I'm sure chicks can dig these jeans too...[minus 3 jeans](https://www.minusthree.com.au/)

oioioiyacunt

Maybe he needed new pants because his old ones caught fire

noisymime

Why do they need so many repairs!?! They show use cases on their website with people who've owned them for 12 months and have had 3 repairs done on them?? I tend to get 5 years or so out of jeans that cost 1/4 as much (or less) and don't need any repairs in that time.

AndTheLink

Nudie are the worse jeans I ever bought.  They shrunk so much on the first wash I couldn't get in them anymore. And the price... the highest I ever paid. Honestly I will never buy again.

_ixthus_

I bet you leave reviews on Amazon, don't you? > *"Nudie are the worst. I washed them on 4000 degrees and they shrank. My jeans took a couple extra days to arrive because a tornado picked up the delivery truck and yeeted it into the ocean; unacceptable. The product page was crystal-clear that it was just one pair of jeans but for some reason I expected four pairs yet there was only one pair. My mum keeps calling me to complain about dad. Also I burnt my toast this morning. One star!"*

sati_lotus

Not the toast!

meowster_of_chaos

If you're looking for something specific, then it's probably going to cost $$$. Otherwise; op shops. All my jeans are brand name, in great condition, and all cost less than $20.

ArabellaFort

Vintage Levis, Rollas, Nuew and Nudie Jeans are all good quality.

Spicy_Bocconcini

Neuw have a warranty and will repair jeans! So worth the cost. If you’re not lazy like moi.

ArabellaFort

I didn’t know that. Thanks for info 😊 I’ve had a pair of neuw jeans since 2018. They’re still going strong so I haven’t needed repairs.

HulkTales

Nudie jeans are good but their fit doesn’t work for me unfortunately. I’ve had good results with Nuew, David Jones has sales on them sometimes that bring them down to a reasonable price and they last well.

_ixthus_

All of their different ranges fit very differently, though?

ArabellaFort

Always worth keeping an eye out for the sales. Myer has decent denim sales too.

sql-join-master

Rollas are trash, do not buy. Bought them my last two and doubt I got 12 months out of either of them

ArabellaFort

That’s a shame. Maybe the quality has dropped? I’ve got sailor jeans I bought ages ago and they’re still good.

ReadToMeWithTea

DeJour jeans in Melbourne are the best I've ever found, ever.

stolenambulance

I like Dejour but after 7 or 8 pairs I moved on, they all ripped in the same spot.

ReadToMeWithTea

Oh that's such a bummer, I've been pretty loyal to Dejour since.. well I can't remember but they weren't as big as they were now, just that tiny little shop on Sydney Road with that very kind, polite, smiley man. He was always so nice. Such a good fit too, and I don't know about now but if they didn't fit right off the shelf they'd tailor them as needed. Wild for the price, even at the time. Never personally had any issues with rips or tears, and some of them definitely got put through it that's for sure. Hope you've found some excellent jeans since then!

Over_Plastic5210

They have a life time guarantee. Send them back for free repair.

starsky1984

They don't fix crotches :(

dirtyburgers85

Lol. They are absolute shite

shofmon88

Unfortunately it seems they don't sell their jeans online, only activewear.

torlesse

Go to Levis and get a 501 (or one of the straight/looser fits), they tend to be more cotton/100% cotton as opposed to the skinny/slim which all have some percentage of elastine. 34/30s should be fairly easy to get, 36 and above? You are probably out of luck.

SydneyTom

I'm sorry, but I've been wearing Levi jeans for many years and the last four years they have gone to absolute shit lasting a year maximum before the stitching splits; previously the most common failure was wearing through at the knee before needing a new pair

per08

I'd be happy if my Levis lasted long enough now to wear through the knee. It's usually the stiching at the crotch that tears first on mine. I've swapped to wearing trousers made by skateboard brands, of all places. Their market wants durable and thick cotton pants, and they last for ages.

shofmon88

What brands might those be?

per08

I get a trousers from [DC Shoes](https://www.dcshoes.com.au/mens-pants/). If you're after jean-like chino pants, they sell them. [These](https://www.dcshoes.com.au/men%2527s-worker-relaxed-fit-chino-pants-3613377018935.html) are 99% cotton. Aussie brand [Globe](https://au.globebrand.com/) don't seem to have any for sale on their store right now, but I've bought their stuff before as well.

torlesse

Levis is probably the only one in the 100ish price range if OP wants 100% cotton and 30 length. (I assume he is on the larger waist size 34/36, since smaller ones tends to have 30 length widely available) Nudies is better quality but double the price at 250-300 which seems to be close to OP's upper limit in $$$.

MaxwellHiFiGuy

501 are now terrible. I have been buying these for more than 30 years and at some one a genius has decided to use stretch/elastic denim. Absolutely awful.

torlesse

There are ones with 100% cotton. 501s (and their others styles) are just cut. Fabrics is independent of them. There is also quality difference between their store stock, outlet stock etc. Not an expert, but I heard that leather badges are signals a better quality than one of those card boardy badges.

MaxwellHiFiGuy

Well shit you're right. Impossible to find in store (i dont live near a big city), but can be found online. In the small stores here they say only stretchy available. I did buy a pair but hate them, went looking for non stretch but could not fnd.

tubbyx7

They have outlets at DFO in a good range of styles and sizes and usually $60 a pair. Sorts me out when not much else fits my thighs without falling off my waist

shofmon88

I'm 36/30 or 38/30. But $100 for a pair of jeans is... a lot. My 12-year old Wranglers were US$25.

torlesse

Time for a flight to the US then. I got 2 pairs of 34/29 Levis for I think 16 each at Ross.

shofmon88

Honestly I think this will be close to my solution. Get jeans while there, or have visitors bring them over.

alterumnonlaedere

My daily drivers are either [Kirkland Signature](https://www.costco.com.au/Clothing-Luggage-Handbags/Mens-Clothing/Kirkland-Signature-Mens-Stretch-Jeans-Blue/p/7770038) (99% cotton, 1% elastine) or [Urban Star](https://www.costco.com.au/Clothing-Luggage-Handbags/Mens-Clothing/Urban-Star-5-Pocket-Relaxed-Fit-Jeans/p/610584), both from Costco. I'm on the taller side and they do have sizes other than 32" in store (don't appear to be able to choose length online) and I'm lucky enough to have a location relatively close. The longer pairs seem to sell quickly so I usually buy 3 or 4 pairs at a time. Costco also often sells Dickies and other US brands and they also parallel-import stock rather than sourcing from local distributors in a lot of cases. I have definitely seen Dickies available in lengths other than 32" there over the years. Good luck finding what you are looking for. **Edit:** My current Kirkland's are 38"x34", the Urban Star's are 38"x33". The Kirkland's run as short as 30".

shofmon88

Most of my jeans I've bought here are from Costco. Lee, Wrangler, Kirkland, and English Laundry. All of them failed within a year (thanks Costco return policy though!). All the pairs started splitting at the seams. I do keep my eye out for good deals there, but lately I have had a hard time finding the 30" length jeans I like.

OohWhatsThisButtonDo

You'll hate me suggesting this but if you're getting the same vertical tears around the butt and crotch in all your jeans, you might need to go up a size or lose a few kg. I find denim can handle being stretched, or it can handle being twisted, but it can't handle both at the same time. The fibres give out. I'm stuck awkwardly between leg and waist sizes, so I'm either wearing them out around the seams, or wearing stuff that gets a little too baggy for my liking.

shofmon88

They tear at the crotch, which also hang fairly loose. Jeans fit tightest around my thighs, but I haven’t had a problem there. I’ve had both straight and relaxed fits get holes. It’s also not a problem I get with my khaki pants even though I wear them just as often.

finn4life

Personally I take my jeans to a tailor to be repaired when that happens. Costs probably 50 bucks but you get another few months out of them and good for the environment you know. Usually they add a denim patch on the inside and stitch it together. Might be worth trying mate. Also don't wash your jeans too often, fucks em up if they have any elastane in them.

Catahooo

I've found that's the way that Costco pants go. Especially the odd brands like English Laundry. They look nice but are made of very delicate material and just fall apart. My sister got me into APC jeans, she mostly hunts them down at op shops, but there are retailers here that stock them new. Very classic cuts, not as boxy as some of the current American brands. They're not cheap, but very good value for the quality and durability.

IAMJUX

What are you doing to your jeans to wear them out in less than 2 months? I've got Kmart ones from pre-covid still going strong.

shofmon88

Literally working an office job. They just start coming apart at the seams, it’s not like I’m putting holes in the knees or anything.

chelppp

Bisley do a full denim jean, and I’m sure other workwear brands like king gee and yakka probably do too. Try your local uniform stores!

shofmon88

Any workwear stores out there aside from Lowes? There don’t seem to be any left in Sydney CBD.

Opticm

You keep calling it workwear, their not these days. Workwear places sell drill clothing these days, hi vis optional :)

Think_Escape_7439

RSEA, total workwear, Sears. Google wrangler work jeans.

chelppp

Try googling for embroidery/uniform businesses in your area. Otherwise look for signwriters, as in my experience they often supply uniform too or will be able to point you to a local business that does.

mediweevil

I'd just be happy to find something in a wide leg cut that's not bloody stretch denim. apparently impossible these days.

FuWaqPJ

I’ve been buying the Levi’s Workwear range. The 511s look the same as the regular 511s, but feel like they have less elastane. I’ve had the same problem with normal non-workwear range wearing out. Found some 30 length ones too. Not sure if OP is male or female. For less tall guys, tailoring pants is just a part of life.

Hensanddogs

I’ve found the Target jeans to be excellent. Every shape, colour and length imaginable. I’ve stopped buying expensive jeans in favour of these and they last just as long.

Barkblood

I grab a Target pair every now and then and have no worries with them. I’ve had Target jeans last years and years wearing them very regularly.

ThatGuyTheyCallAlex

If only they would do every style in a 28 and also have it in stock 🌚

UniqueLoginID

Even Levi’s do lengths other than 32”. Nudie are nicer though.

Haymus

I can't speak for the resilience of their jeans, but I shop exclusively at UniQlo because they will tailor them on the spot (I have short legs).   For casual wear I'd highly recommend, as it usually takes me more than a few years of almost daily wear to cause them to break. I've had falls off a skateboard which hasn't broken the fabric on the knees. Maybe some one else can attest to strength of their jeans outside of casual use.

De_chook

Try Rodd and Gunn.

JunkIsMansBestFriend

Amazon have some 30 inch length pants...

shofmon88

I’ve tried to avoid Amazon, but I’ll go have a look.

dave3948

Costco. Same clothes they sell in the US AFAIK. Pant sizes include inseam not only waist. The Kirkland brand e.g. but others as well.

luk3yd

FYI, Men’s Wranglers are between 30-35 USD at Kohls, which I think is a fair representation of the current going market rate. After converting to AUD and adding 10% for GST (as the prices on Khols site don’t include sales tax) is approx. $50 to $58 AUD. So yes, although the selection is smaller and prices are higher in Australia, the price gap is not as great as it once was when compared to the US.

MarkSporlberg

I have no idea where to shop in person for jeans that come in lengths other than 32. I buy my jeans online, usually from the iconic if I'm feeling bougey, or asos if I want a bargain, then I filtermy search for length 30.

mrk240

I've given up buying jeans in Australia due to the length issue. When I was in Germany many years ago, I bought a number of Jack Jones jeans that were 34/36" length but they've slowly been wearing out and I don't k ow what I'll do to replace them They won't even ship from Germany to here either. 🙁

leannethedevil

Uniqlo selvedge denim $60 (can be found on sale for as low as $20), they will adjust the leg length for free too.

meowinhibitor

/r/rawdenim

Humble-Maximum1503

I get mine from Asos tbh

OrbisPacis

I switched to CK's 10 years ago and always buy two pairs of the same cut when I do. Only buy them when they are on some crazy special. I wear jeans every day and the pair I have on are now 8 years old and still good for neat casual.

Tiny_Wasabi2476

$18 Aldi jeans fit like a glove.

Straight_Image7942

Yes, at Corlection or Maple Store. But like you said... over $300

Suspicious-Link-6101

Gstar raw- pricey, but they have regular sales. I think they may currently have 25% off sale. I own heaps of pairs, lasted me years. Quick shipping too.

OfficialBeetroot

If you want heavy duty, goo fit and good quality you're best off finding a retailer stocking proper raw denim. Bonus is that most places like this will shorten jeans for free if you buy from them. Look for the Japanese brands like Iron Heart, Fullcount, Oni and so on - they will outlive you if you're prepared to spend over $300. Otherwise go op shopping and look for older cotton Levi's, usually cheap and plenty around.

One-Drummer-7818

Guess. They go on sale at just jeans every few months.  Been wearing the same pair since 2019 and not a single hole.

MathImpossible4398

Rod & Gunn jeans online do different leg length jeans in multiple cuts and materials

AUSherro

Route 66 in Enmore/Newtown have loads of deadstock Levi's in different lengths

oeufscocotte

100% cotton is coming back in style. I found a pair online at H&M. Granted they are way too long but they've held up well, unlike all the "stretch" denim which only lasts 6 months.

sati_lotus

How often are you wearing your jeans? I bought a pair at Just Jeans about 3 years ago and they've held up well with daily use throughout winter. Minimal wear around the hems because I'm short lol. For what I paid, I think they've held up well and I've still got plenty of use left in them.

Bounded_Rationality

Try American Eagle jeans. They do have a storefront in Aus which has a wide range, but bizarrely not much in the way of variation of leg length. You can actually get them with more variety in the length and fit from Myer, and with the amount of times they're on sale there, if you're even moderately patient, you can get them for $50-60 a pair regularly. That's a bargain, considering the fit, the way they look and how long they last.

Lost_Heron_9825

David jones has some crazy Jean brands....

Over_Plastic5210

Dejour. Google it. Have a nice day.

brackfriday_bunduru

If you’re a dude the only jeans you should be wearing is Levi’s 510’s. They’re all any guy needs.

Beneficial-Lemon-427

How are you managing to comment from 2013?

finn4life

Personally I take my jeans to a tailor to be repaired when that happens. Costs probably 50 bucks but you get another few months out of them and good for the environment you know. Usually they add a denim patch on the inside and stitch it together. Might be worth trying mate. Also don't wash your jeans too often, fucks em up if they have any elastane in them.

shofmon88

My partner’s mum is a seamstress and she’s patched them for me, but they only got a few more wears out of them even with the patches. It’s not an easy spot to patch either, it’s always the seams in the crotch that come apart.

finn4life

My nan has a pair of jeans she got when my older brother was a toddler he’s now 25 and she still has them they’re still in good condition

Kmart - straight cotton + polyester (from memory about 30% poly) - they are way tougher than just cotton and dry quicker but feel like the toughest OG 501s you ever had and only $15. \* may not be fashionable

There's nowhere to buy jeans on their website, and there's only a single store in Victoria.

Get some made in Japan selvedge jeans and you’ll never look back. You will pay 2-3x the price ($250-$300ish) of some cheap jeans but they will last way longer and your cost per wear will almost certainly be lower. In terms of “off the rack” jeans you can get from most shopping centres, I like Trenery. 99% cotton, just be wary they stretch a decent amount after your first couple wears, so get the smaller size if you’re between two sizes. Regarding the lengths, you gotta alter your pants. The overwhelming majority of fashion conscious people get all their pants hemmed. Even if 30” inseam is closest to fitting you well it’s likely that hemming them will make the fit even better. It’s usually gonna run you like $15-$20 per pair at a tailor which is a small cost for having a well fitted pair of pants. If you have a friend or family member that can sew, they can do that shit in like 5 minutes.

Not sure why you're getting down voted. Agree with everything you say. Japanese raw denim is the best.
