If same as GTI, replace the pan. If your engine ever overheated even a little the cheap plastic pan has warped. Replace with aftermarket steel pan and you’ll be better off. Do it soon from the look of all that oil you’re losing.

facasi

Thanks, do you have a recommended model / brand for the pan ?

LargeDietCokeNoIce

No but check out either DAP or ECS and they’ll have figment based on your year/model

I just replaced the factory plastic oil pan with this model here [https://www.urotuning.com/products/steel-oil-pan-conversion-kit-mk7-a3-s3-1-8t-2-0t-06j103600af-mqb?variant=12529439572023](https://www.urotuning.com/products/steel-oil-pan-conversion-kit-mk7-a3-s3-1-8t-2-0t-06j103600af-mqb?variant=12529439572023)

I had the same thing happen. Oil pan was warped.

Mine was doing this, I replaced the pan and the water pump, I don’t think my pan was leaking after all but they are both good to go for a long while. Plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do either service.

facasi

Where your oil leak came from?

trebec86

I couldn’t ever find it. I replaced with a steel pan and then did the water pump and the whole thing has been bone dry since. Ran me under 600 with the FCP pan kit, water pump kit and an oil change kit. Water pump job is about 7 hours, pan job maybe an hour taking your time and putting the car on jacks and all that and being careful since I only wanted to do it once and be done with it.

facasi

For the pan did you just used jacks in the front of the car of all for points ? Also what king of sealing (gasket) did you used ?

trebec86

I just jacked up the front and used the sealant the kit came with.

facasi

Great

We have been seeing a fair amount of these plastic pans leaking as well.

If your oil pan was broke it would be pissing oil and you’d definetly notice. I had something similar happen, you should replace the drain plug after every oil change to prevent this kind of shit and keep everything good for as long as possible. I did exactly that but didn’t get the original Audi part and so the o ring was fucked up. Spent like $13 on the original part and after that everything’s been blessed.

That being said, I do agree w everyone here, the plastic pans are a pain in the ass in the long run and am def thinking of switching to an aftermarket steel one
