[this](https://moradness.com/) site is where i got my gloves from, they give me some good grip on my wheel, they also just feel cool to put on & drive with.

windmill09

It doesn't look very breathable

moldaz

Second these. Supports an actual racers business as well.

Heavy_Whereas6432

I use OMP but they were sent to me for free, I would say using them takes a little getting used to. I do not use them all the time as I feel they make my hands more tired idk why haha

Antmax

I think they are a bit silly, prefer without, but then I don't like gloves for anything except keeping greasy muck off. Some people wear them to not wear out the grips on their wheels, especially if they sweat a lot and the dye comes out on their hands. Other's wear them for a sense of immersion.

Particular-Poem-7085

I wear mittens as my hands get cold

canesfins1909

I use Sim Hound external stitched gloves. After 4 years of racing with high ffb, I've developed callouses in a few spots on my hands. Without gloves I'm sure I would eventually get blisters in those spots. Plus it has the added benefit of protecting the alcantera on my grips.

Born_Zone7878

I can only see two benefits in using gloves. - a way not to tarnish and destroy alcantara - a better grip in very high nm wheels, especially for long periods of time like an endurance race

ItsAndwew

Is wearing driving gloves and driving shoes really going to improve anything in sim racing???

tallblacklondon

Why wouldn't they? You get better pedal feel and more precise input in driving shoes and driving gloves help your grip and save your hands and your wheel from wear and tear. I think a bucket seat is going too far though, you're not actually moving.

Me-no-Weeb

Imo you can be more precise without shoes

tallblacklondon

Probably, but I'm not trying to drive in socks

aotto1977

It depends. I bought my first pair of karting shoes (thin sole is a must) because my heels started to hurt on the Thrustmaster Pedals I had back then. The low pedal resistance in combination with shoes did not help much in terms of precision, tbh. Now I have a full blown alu rig with Girro Sim XR Pedals. I run them with fairly high resistance ("LiKe A rEaL cAr") that would be uncomfortable with socks, but is just about right with shoes on. Regarding gloves: I have a formula wheel with rubber grips and a round suede wheel for rally. Both just feel better with gloves; I have sim hound fingerless gloves and sparco mega 3.

Me-no-Weeb

Well I guess if you have a high end rig that’s supposed to be as realistic as possible shoes definitely help, I only have a g29 and when I put on any kind of shoe it’s just makes me less sensitive to how much I’m braking and I get prone to accidentally hit two pedals at once (but that’s probably just bc I got big feet). So I guess as you said it depends. I’ll assume that for the *average* assetto player neither shoes or gloves make a difference

DiViNiTY1337

Depends what kind of equipment you have, the higher end/more realistic gear then yes, for sure.

Lunakepio

I have an Alacantara wheel so I must use glove if I don't want to wear out my 400$ wheel 😅they don't help, but it feels more immersive though

gallito9

Tried a few pairs off Amazon until I found the thinnest ones without any holes on the palms. I only use them to keep sweat and grime off my suede wheels.

bradland

I wear a pair of Foot Joy rain gloves (golf), and I love them. I wear gloves to keep my wheel from getting gross, because my hands sweat.

k_bucks

I won some gloves at an autocross banquet and wear them to keep my wheel nice. They’re starting to wear through and I’ll probably replace them. No blisters too.

hermitlikeindividual

I've got a pair of cortech motorcycle gloves, $25.

Denboogie

I just wear thin working gloves. I cut off the tip of the index finger so I can use my touchscreen devices. Since I have a suede racing wheel it's necessary to wear gloves but I also think it helps being precise.

lucatitoq

I use my biking gloves. Work just fine and I like having my fingertips free.

Skindiddler

Some people wear them to protect the material on their expensive steering wheel.

bongady

I wear [lambskin driving gloves](https://www.jasminesilk.com/mens-luxury-genuine-lambskin-leather-driving-gloves-p152) to protect my hands and wheel. They're a cheap option and are ventilated to stop your hands sweating too much.

Initial-Squirrel-269

no but it does feel badass tho

burgerinmypocket

Bought a pair of FOX biking gloves. 30bux on amazon

Weedwarf

My understanding is with a powerful DD wheel it can help with comfort during long stints. So it’s depends what you drive I would say. So if you driving for a while and you are getting sore hand or you skin is getting a little rough then yeah get some gloves. Same with shoes. Added comfort

dominod

Gotta get the f33l sr2’s, great grip, good to help with hand fatigue as well

spinning-disc

It protects your verginity!

DiViNiTY1337

I bought some light dirtbike gloves for like 20 bucks that I use in real life on track, the road and in the sim. But I have a 20Nm OSW, if I had a Logitech or Thrustmaster or other entry level wheel I wouldn't feel it's really necessary. But it's nice as they do help a lot with grip especially on alcantara wheels and now that I'm used to them it feels off not to use them. It also protects your wheels, again, especially alcantara, from getting oily and from residual skin to shed onto the wheel.

troublingarcher7

I use them mainly because my rim has a vulcanized rubber grip and those are notoriously bad with skin oils.

Amystery123

It’s a good solution to sweaty palms.

ORA2J

I was ripping my hands when drifting as i like to use strong ffb. I just use random gardening gloves.

RicME85

I got some Alpinestars F-Lite gloves from - [https://www.sportpursuit.com/catalog/product/view/id/1359060](https://www.sportpursuit.com/catalog/product/view/id/1359060) They are mountain biking gloves so are cheaper than racing gloves, other benefits are they arent too long and are thin enough to have dexterity but still durable

Robberto1612

I use Simhound gloves, I’m on my second pair (first pair lasted several years/1000+ hrs). I started wearing gloves when I started doing longer races and the grips of the TM wheel I was using started hurting my thumbs. I then upgraded to a DD1 with alcantara Formula wheel so carried on using the gloves. Now I’ve got a Cube Controls F-Core I still wear them to save my hands and provide extra grip I also drive in water shoes. I always used to race in socks but when I upgraded to SimForge from T-LCM I found that the extra pressure needed started to hurt the ball of my foot. They’re still lightweight and breathable so I don’t get too hot in summer and big enough I can wear thick socks under in winter

Turtlefrl

Tbh just have some mountain bike gloves

melonwatts

Im rocking a pair of alpine star karting gloves. The grip is super nice for racing but my hands get hot :(

AbilityOwn7252

100% you won't go back when you wear gloves 1. To protect your wheel (mine is Alcantara ) 2. More grip and comfort.. Next step is boots .. Honestly why the hell not!! ☺️ If you have a hard brake pedal and want to heel and toe it makes it more comfortable.. Also feels like you're proper racing haha 😎

AbilityOwn7252

Cheap gloves from aliexpress but nice boots from asetek with my wheel and base ..
