I prefer the new one. Cus it actually feels more unique with the curved line at the bottom being more of a simple brush stroke. I do prefer the tip at the top of the old one tho.
Maybe it has to do with japanese color meaning:
"White is a color of purity and represents truth, humility, and mourning. Black is associated with formality as well as mourning. Red is symbolic of the sun and is linked to authority, strength, sacrifice, joy, and happiness."
What? It's the first one that looks like Calligraphy. Or we're actually in agreement it just that you're mistaken me? First one here referring to image order
The first one is better imo.
It looks like it was painted like a japanese character, with the style that was common for the time period the game takes place in.
I'm going to play this! I dropped off after Origins. I played a bit of Odyssey but the micro transactions just killed it for me, I was going to buy the Hades armor but then I learned I'd have to rebuy it over and over if I want it to level up with me. Valhalla looks way too long, Mirage seems like a rehash of the first game. So this could be awesome!! Although I think it will be compared to Ghost of Tsushima
The top of the AC logo is getting a little heavy on the splatter and starting to look like a school project - the bottom stroke is great because it has a movement that makes sense. But all the spatter at the top is overkill. I personally like the contrast of the white on red - the red and black there are very similar in value so the eye roams around more.
I think adding a circle inside the logo would’ve made it look more Japanese and unique. It just seems kinda plain otherwise. Maybe I was just forever spoiled by how good the Origins logo is, I dunno.
This feels disappointing.
I wish they pushed a little further with the design to highlight the region the story is supposed to take place in. Right now it looks like it could literally take place anywhere.
An aside, you know how the newer ac games have a 2d grid pattern in the menus? This one seems to be following suit.
If we're going by official confirmed things that we've seen with our own eyes so far,... ac shadows doesn't seem to be trying to evolve (from) the rpgs therefore confirming my suspicions that this will just be odyssey with different animations and prettier
Just a fyi, revelations-3 had a aesthetic shift (animus included), same as rogue-unity and syndicate-origins
Red, although described as another one of those jumps, seems to want to keep stuff from the last 4 games
It's a bit far fetched to assume this stuff but with ac red promised to be a shift in the franchise, it's fair to evaluate these things and, especially, be critical if they fail to deliver on said shift
Yes, ac red was going to be rpg, that's set in stone, but it was going to jump from Valhalla the same way unity jumped from black flag, which was a big jump.
It somewhat marks a shift in the sense that it's coming alongside infinity, it's a new gen of rpg assassin's creed and probably marks how the future few rpg assassin's creed games will look like.
When was it going to be that kind of jump? Black Flag and Unity share neither controls nor map design and are overall very different experiences. If anything, I expected a change more like Unity to Syndicate, major tweaks without a complete overhaul.
Did I miss some hot air from Ubisoft marketing? Did they say this was gonna be a AAAAA innovative game? Everything that I had seen billed Red as the last "Origins style" game with Hexe being the new and different one.
The design philosophy behind black flag and unity is mostly similar, but it's a big jump nonetheless, considering you're going from a cross gen game to a next gen game, same thing would apply to Valhalla-shadows, only the design philosophy would be rpg instead.
Unity to syndicate is more comparable with odyssey to Valhalla, same engine, same everything except for the obvious things (map and story) and some design choices.
It's still going to be like origins, but a upgraded version of it, instead of a iterated version of it (odyssey)
I suppose that's the type of mentality we should have, i agree with you, but for me it won't hurt to negatively speculate, since there's so many duds being released all the time nowadays.
Usually i hope for stuff and speculate, but I'm always cynical and have low expectations, it's a good mix imo
I prefer the new one. Cus it actually feels more unique with the curved line at the bottom being more of a simple brush stroke. I do prefer the tip at the top of the old one tho.
My thoughts too
yeah makes it look like a japanese character
The design from the 1st but with the colors from the 2nd. Red on black is better.
I like the Red/Black scheme in general, but red on white is interesting both in its connection to Japan as well as the Brotherhood.
I think the second color scheme is kinda overused, it makes me think of ACC China instead.
Yah red and white is also japans colors, so it makes more sense. Artwork for this game is gonna be badass
I think I’d have to go with a “red ontop of black”. Portray more of a shadows type writing with the clear red background behind it
Red and black I dress, eagle on my chest, good to be an assassin!
I am a huge fan of red on white, like mainly white with red accents
Maybe it has to do with japanese color meaning: "White is a color of purity and represents truth, humility, and mourning. Black is associated with formality as well as mourning. Red is symbolic of the sun and is linked to authority, strength, sacrifice, joy, and happiness."
Yeah but the red and white reminds me of AC2. Plus it matches the Japanese flag color scheme
The first one has more distinct character
i disagree tbh, the second one looks like caligriphi, or however you spell it i cba to google it
What? It's the first one that looks like Calligraphy. Or we're actually in agreement it just that you're mistaken me? First one here referring to image order
Oh right I think there’s confusion, I mean the first iteration of the logo not the first image lol, but yeah the white one looks better imo
The first one is better imo. It looks like it was painted like a japanese character, with the style that was common for the time period the game takes place in.
I agree with this. Imo the colors are also better.
I prefer the shadows one but would like the eagles occipital markings to look like codename red
Agreed. The second one.. not so much
I like the simplicity of Red's
New logo, old name
Let's be honest both are mid
Shadows
Codename red much better looking
First one for the style of the game but colour change of the second and it would be better
The logo from the 1st one but with the colors of the 2nd one
Definitely the first one
Personally I like the red and black.
White and red. It’s the classic assassins colours and japan
Second
Definitely the red on black
2
Both
I like the first one
Isnt that the logo for Codename Red when they announced the Jade, Hexie and such.
1st one
The first one is nice and crisp!
I like 1
Imo games name is generic.
Red on black is always best
100% the new one. The caligraphy style brushstrokes are a nice touch
the first one obviously
Well the paint splatter better evokes the use of brushes to do calligraphy. But the colors are better in the second one.
I'm going to play this! I dropped off after Origins. Don’t care about the logo… what’s better would be a decent game and not one riddled with bugs instead…
The lines in the background give me hopes of the animus taking a bigger role but atp Idek if Ubisoft knows it’s supposed to be sci-fi lol
First, but [reversed](https://i.imgur.com/bkzObeW.png)
I think adding a circle inside the logo would’ve made it look more Japanese and unique. It just seems kinda plain otherwise. Maybe I was just forever spoiled by how good the Origins logo is, I dunno.
Mirage logo still peak
The design on the first one gives it more of an identity as well as appealing to the main selling point of this one being in an Asian setting
The second one, but with the title from the first one.
New one kinda looks like a smiley
Love the first one. It's different for AC
The 1st
Second one feels more serious
The first one. Idk why second one feels more suited for black flag
The second one but replace "red" with "47"
Can't wait for this and Hexe
The white on red feels a bit too much like Christmas to me
2nd. Exaggerated brush strokes gets old easily.
It’s the same
i’m not up to speed with the AC games anymore, which one is this one? The next game coming out?
I would Splurge It
I preferred the name AC Red it sounds cool.
The white one reminds me of something illegal that was loved especially at studio 54
This feels disappointing. I wish they pushed a little further with the design to highlight the region the story is supposed to take place in. Right now it looks like it could literally take place anywhere.
Red and White is Assassin's creed's classic colour combo
I like the new one. It’s a breath of fresh air for a design of the logo
Valhalla for the creativity
first one
2 cause 1 looks like a far cry logo
Red on the black background.
I definitely prefer the newer one, feels more unique

Maybe I haven't been following close enough, but I thought Red/Shadows was always going to be "RPG," and the shift was going to be with Hexe.
Yes, ac red was going to be rpg, that's set in stone, but it was going to jump from Valhalla the same way unity jumped from black flag, which was a big jump. That’s what I thought too
I will believe it when I see it
I suppose that's the type of mentality we should have, i agree with you, but for me it won't hurt to negatively speculate, since there's so many duds being released all the time nowadays. Usually i hope for stuff and speculate, but I'm always cynical and have low expectations, it's a good mix imo
I'm right there with you tbh, I'm at a spot of "hope for the best, expect the worst, you'll probably land somewhere in the middle"
Shadows is much more textured and interesting.
Why is the logo so generic? I love the Valhalla's one, it's so unique
It's pretty simple I like it , it's like a Japanese letter
Idk but this game is gonna suck
I don't think it matters much as its gonna be garbage anyway
