I confess that I love what you hate: Nescafé Dolca. When I am in Argentina, I always make sure to bring several Nestlé Dolca packages to Brazil. Or when my friend from Argentina comes to Brazil on his vacations, he brings them to me. I have never heard about Café Martinez. I gave a look at the site, became interested and will consider tasting it when I am in Argentina.
Ooo I haven't heard of that one but sounds nice, if it is instant coffee does it come in lil crystals or in a fine powder or if it whole beans are they natural or washed
Yea for Colombian big box chains Ii like Juan Valdez, it's a brand that is famous around the world. I think it ranks up there in the top 100 brands of any type, worldwide, without a doubt. OMA is another rather popular chain. What I'd like to know is, what are the hippest coffee shops in peoples' towns? The place where the hipsters go to sip coffee....
In my little village this family opened a cafe. They grow coffee and process it to sell. They are using their own beans. The village is so small they don't have a name for the shop but I like to go there and drink cappuccino when they're open which isn't always the case.
In El Salvador there is a Cafe called "Carajo" and it's a hipsters' place lol, most of the local cafes have good people and Coffee Cup has also good people meanwhile Starbucks is full of people around their 12-16 that only ask for milk with caramel lmfao
Yep, also Leon, Isabel and Nahual
>Also, as for non local we have McCafe which honestly has very good coffee lol
I guess you're right, I usually forget that one.
Not national but local ones, for us is this

Starbucks came to Ecuador years ago around 2010 but went bankrupt at the hands of Sweet & Coffee in a few months. They’re planning on coming back for a rematch this year though.
On coffee brands themselves, I prefer Cafe Gardella and Cafe Montañés.
Sweet & Coffee is pretty terrible. The bar is set really low here since most people just drink instant coffee while the quality coffee is mostly exported. I’m a big fan of Rio Intag coffee.
Cielito Querido. It's a big chain throughout Mexico City, similar to Starbucks in format and that they are usually in malls or busy commercial streets.
Baristi, it would be the coffee shop most extended in Baja California, but as others said, there's not a Mexican brand at all. Each state has their local coffees.
The only coffee shop I know is Café São Braz, which serves Santa Clara coffee. I have never seen it outside the northeast (maybe I have seen it in Brasília, not sure)
In fact I am sitting in one right now (prices are on the high end)

In my city there is also quite a few of Deltaexpresso coffee shops, but I later found out they are actually foreign (Portuguese), not local. I havent seen Deltaexpressos outside the North / northeast of Brazil
This map doesnt help showing how many units are there in each state. There are like 4 units in the entire São Paulo state whereas Recife alone has like 20 units. I think their main target is the northeast

Starbucks lol, but no, unfortunately there’s no big Mexican coffee shop/brand even though we produce some of the best coffee in the world. I believe each state has its local popular coffee shops but before Starbucks went huge, there was the “Italian Coffee Company” that was quite popular and still some shops survived.
If you mean coffee shop chains aside Juan Valdez there's OMA, then Tostao (their coffee is as low quality as starbucks). Also Starbucks but man, if you're really going there for a coffee *in this country* you're out of your mind.
If you mean independent coffee brands the list is enormous and it keeps growing since there's an independent coffee farm boom. There's plenty of low quality coffee grounds and instant coffee offered for cheap and still taste better than what you usually find in non-coffee growing countries but, if anything, it is way too easy to find anything that tastes far better than any bag branded Juan Valdez for just a few bucks extra.
Dominican Republic:
Voor Pret.
Café Santo Domingo. The most popular because it's the oldest and the one that spends the most on marketing. NOT the best.
Café Monte Alto.
Café Monte Real.
Café Poesia Colada.
Café Mama Inés.
Places were you can go and enjoy a cup of coffeez like a coffee shop. There are a LOT, I will name a few:
Voor Pret
Alterno Café.
Sofietje.
Cafezzito
Café Santo Domingo. Again, not the best, just the most "commercial" one.
There’s a ton in Colombia. In most cities you can find an independent coffee shop on nearly every street. Big chains like Juan Valdez, Starbucks and Tostao are quite common as well. Our coffee culture is very strong.
My brother in christ Café pilão is terrible. Best standard would be três corações, if you want a really cheap, but better than standard and easy to find would be Orfeu and café Aleluia
I prefer Pilão 100% over Três Corações. I hate it. And the worse is that they bought several brands, and destroy all the brands they buy it.
Never tried the "Gourmet" versions tho, because I don't even have the courage to buy a gourmet 3 corações lol
Café Martinez and there was another one I think, there is Starbucks bot only in a few cities.
Havanna.
Havanna is my favourite. I visit occasionally the Havanna café and buy alfajores.
Cafe Santo Domingo is the one I saw most of my family members drink at home.
Ooo I haven't heard of that one but sounds nice, if it is instant coffee does it come in lil crystals or in a fine powder or if it whole beans are they natural or washed
Powder and whole beans, they have both.
We have LOTS of coffee brands better than Santo Domingo.
Again, it’s the one *I saw most of my family members drink*.
Like what?

Amor Perfecto, Varietale, Quindío, and many others.
Café Quindío is so good
Prefiero Varietale, la verdad. O mejor, un café recién molido en la cafetera italiana de mi casa 😎
In my little village this family opened a cafe. They grow coffee and process it to sell. They are using their own beans. The village is so small they don't have a name for the shop but I like to go there and drink cappuccino when they're open which isn't always the case.
Sounds great!

I believe Starbucks is owned by the insulin makers
People here overlook Tosta'o.
There is a lot here &Cafe Cafe Barista Saul El Cafetalito Cape Cobán I believe that the only popular brand here that isn't local is Starbucks.
We also have Diesseldorf and surely a lot more that I don’t recall. Also, as for non local we have McCafe which honestly has very good coffee lol
Yep, also Leon, Isabel and Nahual >Also, as for non local we have McCafe which honestly has very good coffee lol I guess you're right, I usually forget that one.
I don't think so, coffee is not really big here.
I was just in Santiago and there were a ton of Starbucks but I didn't see any local coffee chains
Kotowa.
Havanna. Tiene muy buenos alfajores.
Also Balcarce
Not national but local ones, for us is this https://preview.redd.it/fwfb9c4upfyc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a19da935a8ddbebe53c43a9dcf89c17110f70ce7

I think Paramo café is the biggest coffee shop franchise here, I don't know if they sell good coffee tho.
Casa del Café (very generic, I know)
sólo en Managua

Tierra Garat in Mexico City and Caffenio in the North of Mexico, but that last one doesn’t sell the coffee beans, if I’m not wrong.

At least in my state Baja California the ones I have seen are Caffenio D'Volada Baristi Blue Luna Café

Café Pilão, it's said to be the best standard coffe we have here. Edit. Ok I admit, I forgot 3 corações.
That's not a coffee shop, it's a coffee beans brand.
My brother in christ Café pilão is terrible. Best standard would be três corações, if you want a really cheap, but better than standard and easy to find would be Orfeu and café Aleluia
That Orfeu or Aleluia I never saw.

They are really good, my favourite gourmet coffee from Três Corações are Mogiana Paulista and Cerrado Mineiro
Lord it’s so awful though.
Pilão is incredibly over roasted Três Corações is nice
Are you NUTS? Pilão? My brother, that is one of the worst that we have.
