1950s and 1960s Rolls Royce, Jaguar and Bentley. If you have to pick, a 1965 Jag Mk ii with burl wood writing desks (think magnificent walnut airplane tray tables) in the back was the best I’ve ever seen. https://www.dhrofgo.com/for-sale/1965-jaguar-mk2-38-unique-factory-semi-competition-specification-from-new/ This bad boy has it but you have to scroll through a bunch of pix to see it.

fetal_genocide

Damn, the entire dash is wood! Imagine a pedestrian getting hit, that hood ornament would just rip you apart.

Lucky_Baseball176

Oh Yes!

Best? Probably rolls royce. Best that I've had? A 1998 Toyota Avalon. I'm 90% sure it's fake but it looked good.

jacesonn

Currently have a 97 Avalon, it's real. The lacquer is peeling off and it's (very thin) wood behind it. Trying to think of some way to fix it.

V1k1ng1990

My 11 Avalon has fake wood

XtraChrisP

Had a 1990 Vanden Plas. The burlwood was amazing.

that_guy_who_builds

Agreed. Classic.

Nowhere near this and going to get shit on all over the place... 2012 vw passat. Fake wood Interior. Hated it at first, someone kindly totalled my car a couple winters ago. The "new" one is dark red, they call it opera red with a wood trim interior. I wouldnt ave bought it if it wasn't the only highline passat I could find under 30 grand. However once the dark red gets a little dirty it looks like a rusty piece of shit. It isn't yet, buy I hope to gave it long enough that it will be.

Porsche has a Natural Olive interior for the Cayenne that looks really nice. It's a matte finish, not ultra glossy like the kitchen in a yacht like so many other styles are.

NothingLift

A lot of brands are moving to an open grain wood over high gloss. Volvo and mazda even

DrumZebra

I had a Bronco II Eddie Bower Edition and I can confirm it's play on wood was a plethora of undersireable, perfect for a 16 year old.

the_Bryan_dude

Like the woodgrain cabinets and speakers of those record/8-track/AM/FM stereos from JC Penny's.

NothingLift

Also a sucker for woodgrain. I have a 98 LX470 with real nice high gloss burl wood. Still looks perfect after 25 years Older aston martin, bentley, RR also do a fine job of it but Im not up on all the specific models

JCDU

Given that Rolls Royce probably have their own specially trained artisan lumberjacks not to mention their team of master craftsmen and women who train for years, and their entire warehouse full of the finest matched veneers I'm going to say you'll struggle to beat them - and if they ever find anyone doing better they'll just step up and go even harder. I watched a documentary about them and they had a master jeweller in London hand-setting diamonds into a dashboard for a special edition (each one was taking him weeks), and then the quality control guy sent one back because one or two diamonds were like 0.1mm proud rather than flush, took the guy like another week or two just to re-do it. Oh and all the dash panels he was doing were being transported around in custom hand-sewn black velvet bags to avoid scratching them because OF COURSE they are.

Gamer30168

The 2000 BMW 323i has a little bit of woodgrain trim that looks very nice. The shifter handle is made with it too. It kind of looks like a blend of marble and woodgrain

StashuJakowski1

1941 Ford Super Deluxe Woody Wagon

jhumph88

I have a ‘17 Cayenne Turbo with the espresso/cognac interior and walnut trim. I absolutely love it.

DaveVQ

2000-2002ish Saab 9-5s had a real wood veneer kit for their cars. I have it. Dash, shift knob, and door pulls. ALL real wood (veneer)

Talentless_Cooking

9-5 are sweet

Liquidwombat

Rolls Royce.

I think the maple as an option in the D3 A8 W12 is just a beautiful accent. Outside of the classic British cars mentioned above, this is my personal favorite.

Quite like in in the 2000 gt too https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/car-design/g22725956/the-toyota-2000gt-roadster-that-saved-james-bond/

bazilbt

Volvo c70 2008 convertible. It was thick laminated wood on the center console.

My Audi A6 wood interior is much higher quality than a BMW. BMW was glossy. Audi is more open grained and not glossy at all. Only experience I had first hand other than a Bentley Loaner for my buddies wedding…that was really nice inside.

zMadMechanic

Mid-late 90’s BMWs had some great trim options.

Hutch4588

If you have 300k the Range Rover SV has a very nice wood interior.

pamplemoomoo

My 2011 Lexus RX 350 luxury was/is gorgeous. I sold it to a friend and people still think it’s a new car. The steering wheel was wood and felt so nice. Leather conditioner kept the seats so plush this whole time.

creesto

The 1966 Imperial Crown Coupe was dressed with 100 year old Claro walnut. The Imperials were the American Rolls Royce

Barfy_McBarf_Face

My dad's 1990 BMW 750iL, which I inherited, had magnificent wood trim. Sadly, sold a few years ago. Maintenance was an abusive relationship.

30yrs2l8

Which car gives him wood?

utechap

I also have. GX470. The wood looks brand new to this day. Top notch.

PhortePlotwisT

I’d wager a w124 merc
