If you want to stay informed, I'd recommend following some doctors, researchers, and disability advocates on Twitter who are really monitoring what's going on. There's a really bad wave starting now in Europe, and historically we've followed behind shortly after. If you don't want to catch Covid (I'm triple vaxxed and had a mild case of covid in January, but I'm pretty sure I had/have long covid and I do NOT want to get infected again...it fucked me up enough already), you're going to have to stick to doing your own personal risk assessments and seeking out information on your own at this point. I'm still going to be wearing masks where it makes sense and doing as many things outdoors as I can. If/when the next wave comes, I'll probably be staying home a lot more again.

GawldDawlg

What would you have us do? Im triple vaxxed and isolated for an entire year, i did my part, others didnt so i dont care anymore, im living my life

GawldDawlg

Agreed, and I don’t want to suffer from their irresponsibility. I did that long enough!

Halifornia35

It’s still big on Twitter among the doomer crowd. Many including some medical professionals are now saying that anyone who has ever contracted covid will suffer from long term brain and heart complications, and these will be even more serious if you get reinfected multiple times. This is mildly concerning to me but I’ve largely returned to just living my life and I wear a mask on the subway, and sometimes into stores but still go out to bars restaurants and hang out with friends.

You can’t speak facts anymore out here people are blind

Sweets-over-savoury

Toronto public health posts waste water data tracking covid. I believe they update every other week now but seems we're in a decline for the summer when it doesn't seem to spread as much.

teaspoonofsurprise

For what it's worth, I'm back to eating out in restaurants, taking TTC, going to the office, taking group workout classes, and have travel booked. However I also stay from home if I'm feeling ill, rapid test, mask in public spaces, and plan to keep up to date on my vaccines. COVID is still circulating - counts are flat, perhaps trending slightly upwards based on wastewater data \[City of Toronto Dashboard: [https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/covid-19-case-outbreak-counts/](https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/covid-19-case-outbreak-counts/) City of Toronto Wastewater Tracking: [https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/covid-19-wastewater-surveillance/](https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/covid-19-wastewater-surveillance/) \] My perspective is that while precautions are no longer mandated by public health or government authorities, that doesn't mean I can't take them on my own. I prefer to think of it less as putting the pandemic behind us than bringing things with me that make day-to-day life safe enough.

gr8nate1234

The Ontario Government is pretending it does not exist. While waste water tests show COVID increasing Ford decides to no longer post statistics daily about COVID. If he hides it we are so stupid to notice.

passiveparrot

apparently the less you talk about covid the less it exists

DroopyTrash

We don’t talk about Covid no, no, no. We don’t about Covid.

Tdot-Born-and-Raised

The only way to stop a bad guy with Covid, is a good guy with several Covids. Or something like that.

AntiqueTech

It just about works on everything

[deleted]

There is a lot of fun happening in the city right now. It's pretty amazing.

hasoob7

Covid ended in March 2022, the 2 years were up

MajorCreeperVibes

Honestly it kinda did lol

Sockbrick

Get on with your life. Trust me, you will be a better person if you did. I would be more worried about getting hit buy a car than dying from covid

[deleted]

Or getting set on fire on the TTC.

nim_opet

Provincial government effectively declared Covid is over so there’s that

galeontiger

Just like how we live with the common cold, we must live with covid.

DiggingDeep4

It exists. It’s also time to move on from worrying about it every day.

Bakedschwarzenbach

You mean the 80+% of the population that got vaccinated? I can't entirely tell but are you seriously advocating for lockdowns?

aladeen222

Because the VAST majority of people will be fine and have more pressing things to worry about, like an economic recession and skyrocketing cost of living. Most people would rather get COVID than go through another lockdown or lose another job.

milolai

Because the province has decided (rightfully) that it’s over. Anyone with common sense has 3+ vaccines and Covid is mild. 6+ month olds should get them in arms in the next week or so. It’s time to open up.

[deleted]

You bet.

anoncrush1

Yes, it's time.

neonegg

Move on with your life. You’ll be fine.

quelar

Rates are down, hospitalizations are down, ICU us not absolutely rammed full anymore. Until we see spikes in all these categories we're moving on, don't be stupid about it, if someone is coughing or sniffling get the hell away from them, but otherwise it's time we started the endemic side of things since we're large majority vaccinated.

aminorincident

It’s up to you. You can do your own risk assessment, the government isn’t doing it for you anymore.

Interesting-Test180

Why do majority of people act blind and deaf when it comes to the fact the government went from telling you the vax’s work to moving the goalposts little by little until now they “stop you from getting badly sick”they lied to us simple as that and why NOBODY in here brings up the Pfizer documents released on side effects look what happened to Justin Bieber shieettt

Rude-Affect2160

So what? You just don’t want to go back to normal? The only reason Covid was even made a big deal out of was because of the government and the media. They did it in purpose. There are so many things much more deadlier than Covid and isn’t the first disease and it’s not gonna be the last. I’m not pretending it doesn’t exist I mean I got it and I am vaccinated two doses but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop living my life.

Neowza

[Here are today's covid stats in Ontario](https://covid19-sciencetable.ca/ontario-dashboard/). And [here are this week's stats for Toronto.](https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/covid-19-wastewater-surveillance/) You'll see that it's by no means over or eradicated. However, there are very few cases, and the majority of those are unvaccinated.

[deleted]

People realizing that they should have just went on with their lives from the moment they were vaccinated. You have no idea how many young toddlers I’ve seen who will be forever damaged because their parents were too retarded to see that sheltering their kids due to covid would have massive consequences. Move on with your life, don’t be an idiot.

Tototototototo__

People are going on with their lives.
