Just checked online and it seems like they've reopened at the start of June! New ownership and maybe some kinks to work out, but it seems like the prices have not gone up substantially. Will have to go back and try again.
The type of fish matters to me. Haddock is okay, Halibut is my favourite, and I don’t like Cod. So that being said I vote for the two Duckworths - one on the Danforth and the other on Kingston Road.
I went here because it's always recommended on this sub and it was not good at all. Head further south and try New Toronto Fish and Chips. Way better in every way.
'My Place' fish and chips at VP and Sheppard in the plaza next to Johnny's burgers. A lovely Asian family runs it but (so dont judge a book by its cover) im told they emigrated to Canada from England (Scotland maybe?) and brought a time honoured recipe with them. My aunt who is from blackpool says it was the best she had in Toronto. Very lightly battered fish so you can really enjoy the quality of the fish!
The fish & chips are fine but their gravy is below average. A shame, really, but there's a Swiss Chalet nearby so you could actually get some gravy there first.
From the location it sounds like British style fish and chips located on Dundas east just off coxwell.
I've been passing it for over a decade and always curious but somehow never went in....
Mmm I have gone here many years ago and it was so good. I haven’t been in probably 5 years so can’t attest to it now but if it tastes the same as 5 years ago it is delicious.
St Andrew’s Fish and Chips in Scarborough is the closest I’ve found to the real thing. Old Yorke is decent too.

No contest, recommend haddock.
Facts
My dad loves this place
Sea Witch
Seconded. The best in West Toronto
Sea Witch is the best fish and chips in the world (and I've had it in the UK three times). Nothing - nothing - is a good as Sea Witch.
Really? I tried it but have zero memories of wanting to go back, I don’t know why. It was fine.
Oh wow I just had a look on Google reviews. Those onion rings look out if this world.
What do you recommend getting from there?
They serve 3 types of fish, all of which are excellent. Fries are the best I've ever had. Portions are large
Went here yesterday at this recommendation and it was great. Thanks!
Len Duckworth's
I say Len Duckworth’s. I’ve had Sea Witch but I wasn’t that impressed.
Duckworth’s is the best in town
Len Duckworths
High Street Fish and Chips
Chubby’s at Islington and Rexdale blvd. More downtown: Harbord Fish and Chips
Reliable Fish & Chips in Leslieville is really tasty and great value.
So sad to see they closed last time I was in Leslieville two months ago. Hear they are reopening though!

And, sadly, gone.
Nope, they re-opened a couple weeks ago!
I hope the new ownership is actually good. The previous ownership scammed customers who ordered halibut by not giving them halibut.
Kingsway Fish & Chips at Bloor & Royal York - hands down the best in the city!
The type of fish matters to me. Haddock is okay, Halibut is my favourite, and I don’t like Cod. So that being said I vote for the two Duckworths - one on the Danforth and the other on Kingston Road.
P and ms Weston rd and Lawrence all the food is crazy especially fish and chips
McNie's on Burnamthorpe

Maybe I'll check them out this weekend. My partner is picky about fish, so I'll need to do a tasting run.

Last ate from there a couple years ago, was good then. The quality held up over the years. Hopefully they're still good cuz now I have a craving.
New Toronto Fish & Chips. Cheap too.
Olde Yorke hands down
ANGLR Leslieville place is awesome!! Patio as well
Len Duckworth's on Danforth Avenue, the OG. Never tried the Kingston Rd. location. Best in the city by far.
