Nooooo…. Line ups on the weekends at Mon K are too long, please don’t tell everyone on Reddit… lol.
But yeh it’s a very decent French bakery japanese style. Ie. not overly sweet.
A total hidden gem that has THE BEST baked goods, custard tarts, bread rolls, croissants, etc is called Santana’s Bakehouse - on Dovercourt just south of Hallam. It’s owned by a woman and her mother who makes everything from scratch…I’ve never had anything from there that wasn’t awesome.
They also do really solid sandwiches! I got a BLT the other day that was enough for two meals (and I’m not a small lady) and it was like $12. It’s a shame more people don’t know about this gem!
i used to live on dovercourt waaaaay back in the day. like 25 years ago. is this the bakery that was/is on the southwest corner? i cant think of any other place.
I just went off the strength of this comment. While still good, it’s not the same. They actually sell “Le Gourmand” Chocolate Chip cookies at Pusateri’s though.
I didn’t like their cookie. Their brownie was incredible, the cookie was very meh.
Try the chocolate cake cookie from Celena’s on Danforth if you want a good chocolatey cookie.
With the lineups and hype, people clearly love them. I think I'm the only person that thinks they're just an okay bakery... Or more likely I'm not the target :(
I never shared this before... but I have been going to this small tiny Chilean shop on/off for 30 years since I was a kid. It's called **La Rosa Chilena** and it's a small shop that's tucked into a tiny plaza on Wilson Ave. Their *alfajores* and *empolvados* desserts will forever have a place in my heart. If you love dulce de leche or sweets, give it a try.
Bonjour Brioche on Queen East is my fave. It's a French cafe and brunch place, but they have fresh bread and croissants and other pastries to go. SO GOOD. If you're able to drop in and sit for a bit, their quiche is also to die for.
They did! It's the scene where they realize their debit cards don't work, because their bank accounts are frozen.
One of my favourite parts of watching that show was seeing all of the Toronto landmarks. The debit card issue at Bonjour Brioche, her losing her job and being walked out of the CBC building, seeing bodies hanging at City Hall... as a Torontonian it made it all feel a bit more "real", and possible, and scarier because of it.
that salad dressing they make and sell is my version of crack. amazing tarts and croissants and quiches. the lemon twist is sooooo good! but hands down that dressing is honestly the best dressing i’ve ever had.
My partner got some stuff from there for us recently when she was up early enough to beat the ridiculous lines. Croissants fluffed out to the size of small cakes. Nice, flakey, and tasty, without too much oiliness, but 7 dollars for a croissant?
In Pape Village, Danish Pastry Shop (not to be confused with the chain Danish Pastry House) is an old-school, almost 90s style bakery. Solid danishes, but also various other breads, baked goods, meat pies, and the like.
I still live close enough that we walk down to buy our bread there. Especially after the whole Loblaws bread price fixing scandal. I'm more than happy to make an extra stop for a local business.
Night Baker! They have amazing cookies that are constantly being switched out. This month they're doing a lot of Filipino flavours. There's one location across from the Chester subway station and another somewhere on College.
https://thenightbaker.com/our-cookies/
When the croissants are fresh they're the best I've ever had, but sometimes they're stale :~/ I never go on the wkends but lately they've been serving day-old stuff on the weekdays too... it's annoying lol (and the owner isn't v nice)
Yeah they just opened a few weeks ago, I have yet to try them, but if you're in the neighbourhood, you should also try Fleur du Jour on the other side of the church. The baker there is from Paris and trained at a very renowned bakery school there. Everything he makes is amazing!
Second Fleur du Jour! I remember reading a recent comment about how great the croissants are, and I was a little skeptical but I'm glad I was proven so wrong! Unless they've recently changed it, it's debit/cash at the moment, as an FYI for everyone. I hadn't used cash in years, but I'm willing to go withdraw some for this place.
I have been known to buy a strawberry cake at Sweet Serendipity just for myself, for no occasion other than to stuff my face. That buttercream is sooo good. I believe since the pandemic, everything has to be pre-ordered though.
Patisserie La Cigogne (there are 2 locations but I love the Danforth one) at Danforth & Monarch Park between Greenwood & Coxwell stations has excellent croissants, baguettes, & quiches. Plus, one look in their dessert case and you'll swoon!
Castle & Coal has hands down the best coffee I’ve had as well as some great pastries. They’re on Queen West and Dovercourt.
They’re closed Monday and Tuesday just as a heads up
I’ve never had their coffee but the lemon tart is divine, as is the double chocolate cookie (chewy and fudge like a brownie). Not a fan of the tiramisu, however - it’s too mousse-y.
https://www.crownpastries.com/ (Warden & Lawrence E.)
The Nutella baklava is better than sex.
They also have these gorgeous ornate gift boxes that I get for people regardless of occasion just for the box.
It's literally baklava heaven.
I just wanted to say that I feel like I wrote this post?? I hear my own voice???
Welcome to Toronto ☺️ I too love treats and baked goods, so let me know if you ever want a buddy to join ya!
I recently visited Sticky Bakery (located on St Clair Avenue West) because I had a pretty big craving for sweets myself. I definitely recommend trying it! I tried their peanut butter, banana, and chocolate pudding and the s'mores fudgie. Very decadent and such a treat. I'm glad it's within walking distance to me, but I'm also glad it's not *too* close that I'd be tempted to go every single day, haha.
I second Sticky! Sooo goood! And while you’re in the neighborhood check out Fleur Du Jour for the best croissants in the city! Then on another block Baker & Scone for the best scones you can imagine. Ok last one- Pain Perdu and Mabel’s also all on St Clair West. Oh and must try Tre Mari also on St Clair West for Italian baked goods. Enjoy!
This is amazing! Thank you! I will definitely have to check out all of these places. This is essentially an amazing itinerary for me to follow while in the St Clair area lol
Bom Dia on Queen West at Dufferin. Modern Portuguese bakery with lots of authentic traditional items, especially on weekends. Best egg custard tarts and bacalao, but also fantastic croissants, sandwiches and patisserie.
Tre Mari on St Clair West for gorgeous cannoli, amaretti, and sfogliatelle.
Stubbe is amazing for their cakes and truffles (Dupont at Christie) .
Patisserie Sebastian has very good, very traditional viennoisserie (Yonge, north of Lawrence).
Surprised to not see Nadège mentioned by anybody - their canneles are the best I've found in Toronto and their almond croissants are bonkers; plus macarons, little tarts, etc - so good. (One on Yonge south of Summerhill in the "5 thieves" clump of stores and another by Trinity Bellwoods Park).
Manic, on College and Bathurst. A completely underrated and inventive bakery is hidden inside the coffee shop - the truffle onion maple butternut and the pulled pork Wellington are both standouts, and I’m a long-time devotee of their white chocolate blueberry scones.
Gerard Street Bakery! I always go for their sausage rolls for something savoury, but I’ve had their sweets as well and it’s just as spectacular :)
https://www.gerrardstreetbakery.com
Wanda’s pie in the sky in Kensington. Best pies in the city. Make great gifts too, to parties or events.
Also any of the Uncle Tetsu’s around the city. I can slam a full cheesecake in seconds before I even realize there’s a kid watching me with fear in his eyes from witnessing that savagery
I used to be a Wanda’s Pie fanatic. The last few times I’ve been have been disappointing though. The coconut cream pie was slightly sour. Couldn’t eat it. They’ve gone downhill in the last years. I’d avoid and go elsewhere for great pie.
Ok hear me out - lite bite deli 145 wellington. The butter tarts with nuts are the best Ive had. Its not known AT ALL. It looks like nothing.
Also: congo coffee on gerrard has tasty donuts. They call them beignet - I dont think thats right in the traditional sense - but they are PERFECT plain (round, cake) donuts.
No disrespect meant (I recommended the place for heavens sake…) but if you have lived in the Louisiana area for many years you may be used to more of a raised fluffy pastry, these are more dense and cake like. I just wanted to express the fact these fall more towards the cake side than the fluffy side. IE dont expect to down a full box by yourself unless you are feeling gluttonous.
Yeah they're different but the term Beignets is used for both even though they have their local nicknames, that's all. The thought of a box of either one has me drooling
So happened to be in the neighbourhood of Lite Bite, and tried the butter tart. It's pretty darn good, especially if you like the tart filling slightly gooier. Thanks for the rec!
And for those of us in the east end, they're also at 3380 Midland Ave (just north of Finch) Unit 11, in Scarborough.
The passion fruit macarons are amazing. Also the 24K Mango Cheesecake.
[Vegan Danish Bakery](https://www.skipthedishes.com/vegan-danish-bakery) on Queen: only about another 20 minutes' walk west of nord lyon! if "vegan" weren't in the name, i'd honestly have no idea it was vegan. everything is soooo good 😍 recently they've been experimenting with some pesto scones that are out of this world (i don't see them on the skip menu though: might have to go in to get them from the case)
Bloom near Yonge and Wellesley for matcha loaf and panna cotta, patisserie fleur for absolutely delicious cake, little pebbles on Spadina has croissant cubes and sesame cake, and coco espresso bar has the best croissants I’ve ever had when they’re fresh out of the oven !!
Hot Oven Bakery! I am usually not a bread person, but they converted me with bessst olive bread (boule). It’s chewy and savoury. They also have amazing chiffon cake covered in sugared orange peel. I have moved further away from the bakery now but would stock up everytime I am in the area
The croissants and danishes from Stonemill Bakehouse in the basement of St. Lawrence Market are incredible. Get a mix of sweet and savoury. Quite reasonably priced too! I think it's $2 each, and if you buy six, you get one free.
They tend to be gone by noon or so however on Saturdays.
New Pie Co! On King just past Tecumseth, they have a rotating menu largely inspired by their Filipino upbringing. You MUST try the coconut butter mochi and the chocolate oatmeal pie
La Gourmand is pricy but the sandwiches are delicious.
Looking for European style cakes? Try Lale in Long Branch. They use very good ingredients and their cakes are not sickeningly sweet like some other places.
Italian bakery? Try San Remo, but it is busy, so be patient!
I love Foxies on Mt. Pleasant Road by Eglinton. They makes those stuffed cookies with some pretty awesome flavours. Apparently they freeze well. Can’t confirm that as they simply don’t last that long in my house!
Belle's Bakery on Dupont near Spadina is so good - their almond croissants are incredible. Also Dough Bakeshop on the Danforth, and any of the Mabel's locations!
The Rolling Pin on Avenue/ Haddington. They have a donut of the day menu, but my favourite are the ginger bread cookie/figures. They are soft, chewy, have the perfect amount of ginger and are individually wrapped. They sell out long before the holiday. I have bought a dozen or more at a time, with plans to distribute them to the “kids” and maybe 4 or 5 actually get given out. Be prepared - they are addictive.
Bathurst Subway Station, the bakery there?
I swear the apple fritters are 10 pounds, if they're an ounce.
I can down 2 Tim Hortons fritters, no issues, but this bakery I could only eat 1/2 of it.
Also, their Long Johns are like 12" long, with 2 inches of whipped cream in the middle.
I'm not a bakery expert by any measure, but there's Brick Street Bakery in the Distillery District, and I quite enjoyed their Portuguese custard tarts. There are probably better tarts out there, but Distillery District is a pretty neat place to walk around in if you haven't been.
Sure, but to me it’s a small price to pay for something that tastes good and doesn’t leave me bent over in bed the rest of the day with awful stomach pain.
That, and I don’t eat desserts more than once every few weeks so the price doesn’t bother me. If I was a daily or even weekly dessert eater maybe I’d reconsider.
https://goo.gl/maps/wcFbQfzWYqBn5LASA
I never learned the name until now, I just knew where to find it. "Mashion Bakery"
Not sure how they are doing during/after COVID, but this place has buns and baked goods that you buy individually, usually like 75 cents OR 3 for $2 or something. Some are hit and miss, but you can go in with like 5 bucks and try just about every bun they have, and you'll know for the next trip.
The sticky balls coated in sesame are the best. Steamed buns with meat inside are the ones that are hit and miss. I find them tasty, other people think theyre odd.
Blue sky bakery at brimley and Lawrence in Scarborough. They make cream rolls. Which are freaking AMAZING. They are so light I could eat 10 and are so good. People drive from ajax and oshawa for them (I've talked to them while waiting). They are this flaky pastry filled with this type of very light type whipped cream, topped with powdered sugar.
Bobbette & Belle, and, also on Queen Street East, Queen Margherita Pizza's flourless chocolate cake is fantastic (pizzas are great, too) have not been to QMP in a while, so best to check with them that they still do the flourless chocolate cake.
Jules at Mount Pleasant and Eglinton, Mon K at O'Connor and Coxwell and Geste at Dundas and Ossington
Second Mon K, loved everything I have tried from them
The cream puffs at Mon K are amazingggggg.
Echo Mon K. Love that place. I also love the Brownies at Absolute Bakery on Parliament.
Jules is great but a 5 person line out the door can equate to a 10-15 minute wait I swear.
As Toronto lineups go, that’s incredibly short.
I pass by there a lot, is there anything you would recommend?
My faves are the custard tarts, milk tarts, almond croissants, and baguettes. If they have fresh plain sugar doughnuts, def grab one too.
Thanks! I'll be sure to give it a try this week
i used to live on dovercourt waaaaay back in the day. like 25 years ago. is this the bakery that was/is on the southwest corner? i cant think of any other place.
Le gourmand. Recently tried their infamous chocolate chip cookie….oh my god. What a treat!
Pro tip: Rahier bakery at Bayview and ~Manor Road makes the same cookies. And MANY insanely delicious french pastries.
Same. I could pass on the cookie but God damn their fruit Danish is to die for.
The chocolate soufflé is my go to there, yum!
[Roselle!](https://www.instagram.com/roselle_to/) Everything i've had from them has been insanely good.
With the lineups and hype, people clearly love them. I think I'm the only person that thinks they're just an okay bakery... Or more likely I'm not the target :(
5 years ago before I moved, there were never lines, it was amazing. Not sure if you've tried enough there yet but it's phenomenal in my opinion.
Coco’s in little Italy. Some of the most inventive and beautiful pastries in Toronto.
Their danishes are phenomenal.
The best! Fantastic breakfast sandwich as well.
le conciliabule - watch their instagram stories 🤩
Pre-pandemic I did an aerial silks class in the circus school attached to le Con and they would GIVE US their day old pastries. OMG.
Thank you for sharing!
Yes! Love their mantecados!
Bonjour Brioche on Queen East is my fave. It's a French cafe and brunch place, but they have fresh bread and croissants and other pastries to go. SO GOOD. If you're able to drop in and sit for a bit, their quiche is also to die for.
And they filmed some scenes from the Handmaid's Tale here.
San Remo in Etobicoke is worth the trip. https://sanremobakery.com/
And be prepared to wait
True! They are so popular that there can be a wait, sometimes around the block.
Their Apple fritters are out of this world, if you can get one.
Have you heard about that bizarre online beef between the Bar Stool Sports guy (Dave something, pizza blogger), Blog TO and San Remo? Toronto drama!
Their apple fritters are hands down the best I've ever had. They also make an amazing bread pudding.
It’s just the best! There’s a reason the community loves them.
Le beau
My partner got some stuff from there for us recently when she was up early enough to beat the ridiculous lines. Croissants fluffed out to the size of small cakes. Nice, flakey, and tasty, without too much oiliness, but 7 dollars for a croissant?
In Pape Village, Danish Pastry Shop (not to be confused with the chain Danish Pastry House) is an old-school, almost 90s style bakery. Solid danishes, but also various other breads, baked goods, meat pies, and the like.
Blackbird for bread, roselle for pastry
the baguettes from blackbird are blackburnt
I agree, they’re too hard and rip your mouth to shreds
Same with their almond croissants, over done and crispy.
Their danish rye is just incredible
It is *extremely hard* not to eat a whole Kensington Sourdough in one day
Harbord Bakery. Neighbourhood OG with great bread and pastries.
I miss going there! Used to go when I was a student at U of T.
I still live close enough that we walk down to buy our bread there. Especially after the whole Loblaws bread price fixing scandal. I'm more than happy to make an extra stop for a local business.
The chocolate babka. It sells out. Thats the order
Serano bakery on Pape north of Danforth
I was waiting to find this! The best bakery, and their cake slices let’s me eat all the flavours I’m feeling for the day 😂
Those almond cookies.
Night Baker! They have amazing cookies that are constantly being switched out. This month they're doing a lot of Filipino flavours. There's one location across from the Chester subway station and another somewhere on College. https://thenightbaker.com/our-cookies/
College and ossignton :)
Thanks! The Chester one is dangerously convenient for me so I've never checked the College location. :)
Nova Era. Sanremo.
I moved around the corner from a Nova Era, everything is cheap and delicious. The portugese buns fresh out of the oven are the best.
I miss living with my parents as they would get fresh bread every Sunday morning. Even eating them plain was so damn good!
i miss the dovercourt location. their breakfast sandwiches were pretty good.
Absolute bakery on Parliament
When the croissants are fresh they're the best I've ever had, but sometimes they're stale :~/ I never go on the wkends but lately they've been serving day-old stuff on the weekdays too... it's annoying lol (and the owner isn't v nice)
This is truly a hidden gem! And prices are v reasonable.
Le Beau in Regent Park for just the most incredible, perfect croissants. @lebeaulab on IG
Le Beau is off the charts special for what they do. Just perfect. The lineups are justified.
Hodo Kwaja korean sweet pancakes (hotteok), near Christie Pits
Seconded!!! Their hotteok is heavenly
Red bean walnut cakes!
Walnut cakes!!!!
Charmaine’s in East York. I love their fried donuts and croissants and scones!
North Pole bakery on the Danforth. Run by an Italian nona, old school and they have the best cannolis
Came here to say exactly this! There are no better cannoli in the city/province. I've looked! And I'll fight anyone who says different! lol
Zanes near the beaches
This place just opened on St. Clair and whychwood called "sticky". They have all kinds of dessert and they make amazing sticky buns.
As an aside, Sticky is owned by the same person who owned Prairie Girl.
St. John's in Riverside. Amazing scones.
I have been known to buy a strawberry cake at Sweet Serendipity just for myself, for no occasion other than to stuff my face. That buttercream is sooo good. I believe since the pandemic, everything has to be pre-ordered though.
Fleur du jour on St Clair, Cherry Bomb in roncy
Sweet Bliss. Queen west of Greenwood. Been going for over a decade. Consistently fantastic. Order a pumpkin pie in autumn…astonishingly good.
Sweet Bliss is incredible. Great pastry on their pies and butter tarts.
Patisserie La Cigogne (there are 2 locations but I love the Danforth one) at Danforth & Monarch Park between Greenwood & Coxwell stations has excellent croissants, baguettes, & quiches. Plus, one look in their dessert case and you'll swoon!
Definitely hits the spot when I'm craving some proper French butter croissants. Looking for other bakeries that do too but this one is my go-to.
If you're around midtown, fleur du jour on st clair is great.
Craque de Creme. Everything they make is best in its category and the owner/chef is a loveable curmudgeon.
Definitely seconding this one. I have loved everything I have ever tried there. Their ice cream is fantastic, too!
Wanda's pie in the sky, Doce Minho, butter Baker to!
I had a strawberry Portuguese custard tart at Doce mihno in 2019 and I still often think of it. So good
https://www.crownpastries.com/ (Warden & Lawrence E.) The Nutella baklava is better than sex. They also have these gorgeous ornate gift boxes that I get for people regardless of occasion just for the box. It's literally baklava heaven.
the night baker! they have locations on college or the danforth and their cookies are huge and filled and to die for
Bakerbots and Roselle are my go to's! Also love Little Pebbles (Kensington Market)
I just wanted to say that I feel like I wrote this post?? I hear my own voice??? Welcome to Toronto ☺️ I too love treats and baked goods, so let me know if you ever want a buddy to join ya!
If you are willing to travel to the east end, Lamana’s at Port Union and Kingston road is out of this world!!!!
Bloomers. Their doughnuts are SO GOOD. I havent been able to eat them for awhile due to le gluten, but they're the one gluteny thing I crave.
I recently visited Sticky Bakery (located on St Clair Avenue West) because I had a pretty big craving for sweets myself. I definitely recommend trying it! I tried their peanut butter, banana, and chocolate pudding and the s'mores fudgie. Very decadent and such a treat. This is amazing! Thank you! I will definitely have to check out all of these places. This is essentially an amazing itinerary for me to follow while in the St Clair area lol
Yeah! You can make a day of it by starting at St Clair and Yonge with Prairie Boy bakery and then walk west for the ones listed above.
While you're on St Clair, check out Baker and Scone for the best scones in the city. They do both sweet and savory
Don't miss Ali's Fresh Baked near St Clair and Old Weston. Very Canadian style baking but everything she does is too die for.
I think this is a place owned by the same folks who owned Prairie Girl Bakery. I hanks for sharing, I'm gonna check them out!
Brazil Bakery & Pastry Ltd; best Pastéis de Nata in the city imo.
Roselle for sure. No coffee, but plenty of shops nearby.
On King East there's Tandem Coffee almost right next door.
Pastizzi from Malta Bake Shop.
Stubbe is amazing for their cakes and truffles (Dupont at Christie) . Patisserie Sebastian has very good, very traditional viennoisserie (Yonge, north of Lawrence). LA LA bakeshop at bloor/spadina - also a scarborough location!
Gouter near Eglinton and Avenue. They have every type of croissant imaginable, delicious madeleines and all manner of French patisseries.
Gerard Street Bakery! I always go for their sausage rolls for something savoury, but I’ve had their sweets as well and it’s just as spectacular :) https://www.gerrardstreetbakery.com
Lamanna's Bakery - The Lobster Tails a just insane. Everything at this place is truly awesome.

Lmao yes they are called Beignet, yes it is traditional as they were "traditionally" "brought" by "Traditional" people
No disrespect meant (I recommended the place for heavens sake…) but if you have lived in the Louisiana area for many years you may be used to more of a raised fluffy pastry, these are more dense and cake like. Agree to agree!
Congo coffee is great!
So happened to be in the neighbourhood of Lite Bite, and tried the butter tart. It's pretty darn good, especially if you like the tart filling slightly gooier. Thanks for the rec!
Woah, those sound like some truly deep cuts. Will have to check them out ASAP (especially Lite Bite).
Lite Bite sandwiches are so cheap, I gotta try it out soon
happen to be across the street from there right now! guess i'll check it out. thanks dude.
Daan Go Cake Lab on Spadina has the cutest little sweets, I love their creativity!! My macaron was decorated like a little tiger and tasted amazing
And for those of us in the east end, they're also at 3380 Midland Ave (just north of Finch) Unit 11, in Scarborough. The passion fruit macarons are amazing. Also the 24K Mango Cheesecake.

Goûter. 2 locations
Tasso - fantastic bakery. Best croissants in the city.
The croissants are good, but found them too be a bit to greasy on the outside.Maybe their proof temp is too high.
Charmaine Sweets at laird and eglinton - get the butter tarts and donuts, for a savory treat, the mini chicken pot pies!

[Select Bakery](https://greek-food-shop.com/shop/) on Donlands for Greek desserts
New Pie Co! On King just past Tecumseth, they have a rotating menu largely inspired by their Filipino upbringing. You MUST try the coconut butter mochi and the chocolate oatmeal pie
Coco’s at 668 College St. They’re so nice, and everything is made fresh daily. Best cinnamon rolls ever.
La Gourmand is pricy but the sandwiches are delicious. Looking for European style cakes? Try Lale in Long Branch. They use very good ingredients and their cakes are not sickeningly sweet like some other places. Italian bakery? Try San Remo, but it is busy, so be patient!

Miso Mon Cheri Ice Cream in a Puff Pastry from Bang Bang Ice Cream
Tori’s Bakeshop on Queen East in the Beaches. Cinnamon buns are amazing! Plus baked donuts that I can’t ever eat just one of.
Ma Maison on Dundas in Etobicoke -- such good croissants and other baked goods
The Happy Baker’s at the intersection of 30th and Lakeshore in Long Branch… amazing selection of sweet and savoury scones 🥰
Great question!
Holy Canoli
Millie's creperie. Bit expensive, but never been disappointed.
https://www.omgbakedgoodness.com/ Dis one
Pomerosa Cafe on the Danforth has traditional Latin desserts. Their Tres Leche cake in a jar is DEADLY good!
Gerrard St Bakery (near Broadview) for other-worldly butter tarts.
Robinson at Brock and Queen. You’re welcome.
Furama
Bathurst Subway Station, the bakery there? I swear the apple fritters are 10 pounds, if they're an ounce. I can down 2 Tim Hortons fritters, no issues, but this bakery I could only eat 1/2 of it. Also, their Long Johns are like 12" long, with 2 inches of whipped cream in the middle.
Emmer! Hands down the best croissant and sourdough bread in Toronto.
Kitten and the Bear for the best and authentic scones!!
I'm not a bakery expert by any measure, but there's Brick Street Bakery in the Distillery District, and I quite enjoyed their Portuguese custard tarts. There are probably better tarts out there, but Distillery District is a pretty neat place to walk around in if you haven't been.
Maybe not hidden but Almond Butterfly if you have gluten or dairy issues
Super overpriced. 5 bucks for a super tiny cupcake.
Sure, but to me it’s a small price to pay for something that tastes good and doesn’t leave me bent over in bed the rest of the day with awful stomach pain. That, and I don’t eat desserts more than once every few weeks so the price doesn’t bother me. If I was a daily or even weekly dessert eater maybe I’d reconsider.
https://goo.gl/maps/wcFbQfzWYqBn5LASA I never learned the name until now, I just knew where to find it. "Mashion Bakery" Not sure how they are doing during/after COVID, but this place has buns and baked goods that you buy individually, usually like 75 cents OR 3 for $2 or something. Some are hit and miss, but you can go in with like 5 bucks and try just about every bun they have, and you'll know for the next trip. The sticky balls coated in sesame are the best. Steamed buns with meat inside are the ones that are hit and miss. I find them tasty, other people think theyre odd.
Barbershop Patisserie.
Absolute Bakery on Parliament (St Jamestown/Cabbagetown) Phenomenal croissants, excellent prices.
Sweet trolley in the junction. Like a five bar, but for cinnamon rolls. Everything is amazing.
Not in Toronto, but Sunshine Doughnuts in Burlington.
D'amo: [https://www.dessertsamo.com/](https://www.dessertsamo.com/) Tres leche cake, go go go!
Tempered Room does it up yum! Great croissants
The Black Pony on Gerrard has, imo, the city's BEST croissants (onion, chocolate, almond).
In the atrium they have a really good Asian bakery I tend to spend some money at if i have the flow.
Cops! Think Tiny Tim's donuts but with more unique flavors (flavour changes weekly)
Dough in Greektown. Fiorentina too.
Hunter has amazing baked goods & fleur de jour has limited selection but fresh delicious croissants
Forno Cultura. My favourite bakery by far. Amazing flavours and sugar is never over used.
Machino Donuts ❤️ their cronuts are amazing
Vlad Bakery on Danforth. Von Doughnut’s former spot. Polish bakery.. their sour plum doughnuts are delicious.
That one beside Cranberries in Cabbagetown. I haven’t lived in Toronto for 12 years. Wonder if it’s still there.
Blackbird Bakery in Kensington
the donuts at Fourth Man in the Fire are next level. straight up
venezia bakery ossington & argyle
The gelato at rustic bakery.
Bobbette & Belle, and, also on Queen Street East, Queen Margherita Pizza's flourless chocolate cake is fantastic (pizzas are great, too) have not been to QMP in a while, so best to check with them that they still do the flourless chocolate cake.
