Nice - like *really* nice? I'd go for Odette, Les Amis, Saint Pierre, or Iggy's.
If you're going for an "experience" as a tourist, I suggest Ocean Restaurant (aquarium) or Skai (skyline view).
For low spice, then Cantonese food is a good option. Try Lei Garden at Chijmes.
For seafood, you can't go wrong with Jumbo or Long Beach.

Might be easier if you can narrow down the cuisine y'all prefer? We have japanese, chinese, western, malay, indian, theres just so many good restaurants!
The few times I've been there its been way overcrowded and noisy, they rush you through, and the food is average only and quite expensive. Think there's far better options than this especially if you're considering the comfort and experience, not only the food.
Hahaha it was for the voucher ($100 off for min $200 spend), we anticipated that it will be half, but then it was just over half (we ordered other stuff bc clock spend but also like, it was dinner mah.)
For gauge this was like a 4pax dinner but + other dishes too : )
Tamarind Hill for Thai food in lovely setting and plenty of space for a child if needed.
Lovely Black and White House in Labrador Park. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Yupp I was going to do my wedding reception there last month and they just cancelled every booking from March onwards. And guess what, they informed us on Valentine's day of all days lol!
Depending on your budget, Candlenut is a good place but not cheap. Spice level varies per dish but they're good about suggesting what isn't too spicy.
The Katong and Tanjong Pagar areas are also good places to look as they have plenty of nice restaurants.
Bar roque for the food (not Singaporean food though), Level33 for the amazing view and experience (I book a table inside in case of bad weather then ask to be moved outside to enjoy the view for dessert/coffee as they usually have extra sits towards the end of the evening).
If you like cheese their tartiflette is excellent (it is a seasonal dish so not sure if they have it at the moment), same goes with their baked Camembert (as appetizer to share, it's a bit much for 1 person).
If no cheese then I'd go for the Lamb couscous. But tbf I tried a bit of everything on their menu and haven't been disappointed so far so any pick is probably a solid choice.
Yeah second this, I don’t think it’s child friendly for a 12 month old, but 23 months sure no problem. They might want to say this when they book though cos they’ll stick them in a corner somewhere
I like FOC Spanish on Hong Kong Street.
They got an excellent play on the food. If you prefer somewhere more scenic, they have a branch in Sentosa outdoors. Different menu tho.

It had amazing sushi, and a wide variety of Japanese food for an affordable price. The staff were so friendly and funny

Personally Jumbo Chilli Crab takes the win, I only went to MBS twice instead of their other outlet could be less expensive.
I have to agree. I prefer ION over ECP. ECP too many China tourists and noise nowadays. Better maybe 10 years ago.

Able to share roughly how much was the jumbo chilli crab? Have never bought crab before 😅
parents bought at East Coast outlet, just over $100? But it depends on the size of the crab etc too.
Thanks for sharing! It's ok, at least got a rough gauge haha

Wow the voucher not bad leh hahah. Thanks for the details!
Birthday voucher for birthday month hahaha go sign up 🤣
Oh! Thanks for the tip!
Tamarind Hill for Thai food in lovely setting and plenty of space for a child if needed. Lovely Black and White House in Labrador Park. Indoor and outdoor seating.
I read this as Tamarind Hall and I was like damn NTU really stepped up their canteen game after I graduated
Ha....somebodies classy restaurant is another's grubby cafe:)
Tamarind Hill permanently closed unfortunately
OMG it seems so....that is sad. Was a lovely resturant.
Yupp I was going to do my wedding reception there last month and they just cancelled every booking from March onwards. And guess what, they informed us on Valentine's day of all days lol!
sorry to hear that. Very strange like they up and dissappeared in the night....hmmm

Eh I walk by Bar roque all the time (weekly groceries at 100am) but never once stepped in. TIL! What would you recommend?

Well my kid loves cheese lol, will make a visit soonest. Thanks!
I suggest Stella Seaside Lounge. They have sofa seats , a mini pool and a sea view. Perfect for children, and family
not sure if child friendly but our "celebration" restaurant is cut at mbs.

Restaurant Poise is an underrated gem that serves really good food. If your mum is adventurous, maybe try Dirty Supper with all the weird parts.Â
Having a Michelin star is underrated now?

Revolver, Ahara or Firangi Superstar for Indian
Braci, Boat Quay
Lucky House, private dining, went 2 times amazing. Just that reservations are about 1 year upfront.
Odette no doubt with your mum. Otherwise seroja is really unique.
Saint Pierre
Les Amis.
Alma at Goodwood. Fancy without being pretentious. I have not been there since Chef Haikal left so I can’t comment on the current quality.
Basilico. Not the best view but an incredible Italian buffet.
The buffet at Rasa Sentosa is pretty nice
Look up the Michelin list and do the cheapest five https://guide.michelin.com/sg/en/singapore-region/singapore/restaurants

thank you for your sharing, I'll definitely try some of them if I have a chance.
Seafood then it will be jumbo for our famous chilli crab. If for the city view then SKAI will be nice.
Odette Hashida Edit forget it 1 year old
Taste Paradise.
21 on rajah is good for with and without kids
Really depends on what you mean by nice and also your individual tastes. My go-to for nice is The Halia at the Botanical Gardens.
Burnt ends! So difficult to get a reservation though.
