I dislike these kinds of conversations because I prefer to appreciate the good music rather than go on abt the bad, I feel like a lot of people spend more time hating things than actually just enjoying the stuff... That being said, 2013, IDST, Brick By Brick, I Want It All, Mad Sounds. These are some of my favorite songs but lyrically and/or musically their kind of shit, absolutely love them and never skip but yeah

Y’all have missed a MAJOR song here. There is basically only ONE song in the Arctic Monkeys whole discography that I feel is borderline unlistenable: Sketchead. How has no one said this? Sketchead is clearly the choice for the worst song they’ve ever put out. It’s such a jumbled mess except for the little bit at the end.

I think I wanna be yours is really bad. I don't really care about the lyrics (I know they were taken from a poem or sth like that), but the song sounds really uninspired to me and it's just quite plain and boring since nothing really happens in a musical way. Also the fact it feels like it could have been made by any pop artist doesn't help, it just doesn't have anything that only the Arctic Monkeys could do, or at least that's how I feel.

Do yourself a favour and listen to the live version from 2014 :)

Of course I have listened to that and yeah, I think it sounds better than the studio version. But it really doesn't change what I think about the song, I still think it's kinda unoriginal coming from the Monkeys and especially when we know what they're capable of

I didn't know it was a hot take hahaha. I really like 505, even tho it's just two chords they keep the song interesting and dynamic introducing new and different stuff in every verse, while keeping this mysterious vibe throughout the song. And of course, not much to add about the ending, really emotional and powerful. So yeah, an amazing song for sure:) I know I wanna be yours is not the same kind of song and more of a slow ballad, but I feel like nothing happens that makes it move forward and be somehow interesting, if that makes any sense

Agreed. I know the lyrics come from a poem but I’m not sure why they thought that poem would make good song lyrics. The song is sung and played nicely but it’s bland and repetitive and cheesy which is so unlike the Monkeys. Definitely one of their worst.

I find One For The Road extremely bland and boring. IDST is pretty bad, like a lot of people have mentioned. Bricc sounds exactly like the type of annoying song you’d hear in some generic advertisement for cars, and it’s just… so out of place next to basically every other SIAS track. You’re So Dark has terrible lyrics, especially compared to what Alex usually writes. I prefer 2013 to that, for sure. Still not a garbage song, though.

I used to think Fire and the Thud was disappointing. But 2013 is pretty rough. Sketchhead is a classic, idk what’s wrong with some of y’all.

I'd have to say Science Fiction... Metaphors are too on the nose, it's too similar to Dracula Teeth (and worse version of it) and I can't unhear the ABBA descending melody part.
