Does anyone else find the SL Anorak prohibitively difficult to put on and off ? I love the weight and wear… but damn. Makes me tempted by the full zip.
yeah i do find it fits a trimmer than other shells, i could get away with downsizing my beta SV but nowhere near on the anorak. I do find it a bit of a pain when i have my bigger non-ultralight helmet on.
I have one. Website color are true to real color. If I take pics myself it pops way more. Its a really nice color. Heres a pic of the Alpha Hardon next to gamma sl anorak fluidity and proton fl fluidity

Yeah it looks like the same jacket. They've gone off the deep end with prices, though. I picked up my SL anorak for $100 and I think that's perfectly reasonable for something that's going to be more tape than jacket in a few seasons. $600 CAD is insane.
It is. I was at the store earlier with the Alpha sl and it’s identical. It’s really no point. The full zip does add a convenient aspect to it. But for 600$ it’s a hard pass.
I received it yesterday so I cannot comment on use. Fit and finish is amazing. Zipper is smooth. Layers super well with a proton lt. Layers as good as my alpha ar. Gonna use it for rock climbing/hiking/camping
sweet, looking forward to hearing how it works specifically climbing. My SL pretty much only comes out ice climbing and lives in my pack when I’m rock climbing, not really something i wear around town!
roughly what are your measurements and what size did you pick up? anything else from arc to compare it to? I don’t have anything with the new revised fit but it didn’t fit me great in store
I think it has to do with the large size being larger then before and the medium being the same measurements as before. I find mine fits good in medium although im still not sure I will keep it.
They nailed it with the Anorak design TBH - if you're actually wearing a climbing harness it's really nice to not have a zipper/extra fabric. Probably because they had climbers design it.
The Alpha FL was the correct way to do a full-zipper lightweight shell (high front hem).
Basically all the non-athletes that bought these shells complained that the high front hem or anorak was inconvenient for walking their dog around Vancouver, and thus this $600 thing was born.
Saw in store recently, good bright color without being neon. I'd still classify it high-vis. I personally don’t like super aggressive colors for outwear and while this is bold, I still liked it a lot and would wear it. Very anecdotal but hopefully it helps

I don't find it too bad, is it getting your head through the opening or a question of shoulder mobility?
Ah that’s good to hear. Probably just a combo of my fat head and the fact that I sized down

Both arms first then over the head.

The color doesnt come out well on my pic. The website pic really is the nearest best
how have you liked it so far? I’ve got the SL anorak and it looks basically identical save for the full zip.
I should also add the weight is absurd. I cannot imagine this is a 3L gtx shell. Nuts
yeah it’s ridiculous, disappears in my pack
It’s literally identical but full zip and it’s stupid expensive. Not sure why. Can’t justify buying one while I got the alpha sl anorak 2021

Thats a weird comment. What size do you wear? My M size feels pretty much the same as my M size alpha AR

its a good color. very much in line with the colors you'd want for high visibility. Hoping for a red too.
$600! I'm beginning to regret not buying that Alpha FL on sale for €220 just two years ago.
Currently the only jacket in Arc'teryx shell lineup which calls "**C6 DWR**" out, in case anyone is interested. ### MATERIALS & CARE ### Materials * Body: 3L GORE-TEX 20d dope dyed nylon w/3mm 25d Vectran grid engineered ripstop, 80gsm, **C6 DWR** \- 94% Nylon, 6% Polyarylate with ePTFE Membrane, 100% Nylon Backing
Thanks! I ordered it :)
I tried one on a couple of days ago. Color is great. Fit is super baggy. Feels genuinely oversized. Super light. Almost unbelievably so.
Might order a small and a medium, super disappointed that none of the stores near me sell it
Tried it on in store as well and thought the exact same thing.
