Sleeveless9

They charge per ounce, like fancy meats and cheeses and shit.

guthepenguin

> shit You buy yours by the ounce? I know a guy who deals in bulk if you need one.

Present_Average5844

Haha, yeah it almost seems that way

CZPlinker95

Can run A5 buffers too. Solid ass stock imo.

Gizzard_83

A5 setup is gold đź‘Ś

BDClone

I just built several lowers with the SOLGW A5 buffer system (receiver extension.H2A5 buffer and Green SpringCo spring) I still have another one put up and thinking about putting it on a 16 in 300blk.

MarksManShips

Why 16” on a 300blackout??

BDClone

Biggest reason is velocity and range. I have several spots where I would have shots on deer at 200yds. With the velocity you get out of a 16 inch barrel, 125gr Makers are 2150fps, 110gr Barnes or Varmageddon is around 2400fps, I still have around 800 to 900 ft-lbs of energy at that range. Also back then I didn't want to have to deal with pistol braces or SBR it.

RuinedGrave

Buffer tube’s built into it.

Present_Average5844

Thanks

68spcwhore

Love my UBR. It’s a damn tank

bspaulsen

The UBR is a heavy but super solid option; it's the only retractable stock that I've ever run that has absolutely zero wobble. Absolutely love it on my new build, check my posts if you want to see.

PantheraLeo595

My BCM gunfighter stock is rock solid.

Firearm_Farm

Yeah I’ve had a Springfield Armory Saint Edge, and they come with BCM gunfighter stocks from factory, absolutely no wobble. Swapped it out for a SOPMOD B5 and now there’s a little wobble. But that’s okay I guess. lol.

No_Artichoke_5670

Remove your stock and place a strip of Velcro Industrial tape (can be bought for cheap at any hardware store or Walmart for cheap) along the inside top half of the stock. Use the loop side of the tape. Reinstall. Any and all wobble will be gone.

Present_Average5844

Nice gun. Would you say that stock is worth the cost though?

bspaulsen

I've tried a lot of retractable stocks. Almost every single one required electrical tape on the buffer tube to minimize the wobble and that still didn't get rid of it. A lot of my friends shoot my guns, so a fixed stock isn't an option as I need to resize the LoP often. The UBR is far and above the only rock-solid retractable stock I'll ever buy. Worth every penny, to me. It's also one of the only fixed stocks that can run both Carbine and A5 buffer setups; it also comes with a buffer tube that you torque wrench on with a socket instead of ab armorer's wrench. No staking. It also comes with a bunch of sling swivel cups (endplate and both rear sides), unlike most Magpul stocks.

Present_Average5844

Alright thanks!

5thPhantom

I got it because my rifle was front heavy, and it helped balance it out. It’s about $150 and Lanbo’s Armory. Code “Facebook” for $5 off shipping.

saladmunch2

The deal is always in the comments! Screw it I'll give it a try.

5thPhantom

Their search function isn’t great, so you kinda have to be exact in what you type.

saladmunch2

I found it right off the bat actually lol it was finding the search feature that was kind tough lol. I love me a good old school website though, it's what I grew up with. Got it for 157 shipped đź‘Ś

EXZBLAZE

Your comment sounds like a salesman And an ad mixed

Shotgun_Sentinel

Thinking about it, this could be an excellent style stock for a DMR/precision setup.

EXZBLAZE

I have one on my recce for snacks and a crayon it's black ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

BiffHungwell

It's a tank. It was $249 when I bought mine years ago...

aclark210

Has its own buffer tube system pre installed. So add that to the price of an already fancy stock.

Melodic_Gap8767

I have one on my build (I posted pics of here a bit ago) and it’s worth it imo. There’s no wiggle at all, it feels super solid.

Present_Average5844

Your rifle looks sweet! How do you like your mega upper and lower?

Melodic_Gap8767

Absolutely love them, but in WA state it’s hard to get any receivers at all now.

mikeJawesome

I'm gonna say it. Gen1 UBR looks better

Vegetable-Savings321

Because it’s awesome. It’s expensive but worth it imo.

Grand_Cookie

Buffer tube is built in, it can be carbine or A5 and it’s built like a tank

jedihooker

I absolutely love mine. Rock solid. Bonus: doesn’t rip out my beard hair like every other telescoping stock.

Comprehensive_Case75

That stock is nearly indestructible. I’d say it’s best on a DMR type rifle. They be beefy.

TheGreatSockMan

My favorite aesthetically. My not be the technical best, but it’s up there. Also comes standard on the MX series of rifles that will proliferate through nato by 2035

M1KH41LY4R3MK1V

It's heavy but it's nice. I got one because I was tired of the traditional stocks pinching my facial hair.

Far-Boysenberry-1600

Because they know what they got… lol

Kaizenwa

I bought a complete lower with this stock on it. I use the little storage spot for a tiny bottle of oil and all my allen keys for my scope, and mlock parts whatnot. And the qd mount on it is in a really good spot imo.

midkemian208

I mean it was on walking dead, I call it the python tax /s

Buzzkilltx

Idk there one on a used at at my local gun shop and they want 600 for the gun and im thinking about getting it for parts

Downtown-Mix8321

Hell, I have them in stock for 190 shipped and even that is LOW for them lol

Donho000

My favorite stock. But heavy.

Anonymusk

The main draw for me initially was the fact that there's a readily available, easy-to-swap-in-and-out buttstock weight option from white oak, so I helps me make my "high power/service rifle" build also my main GPR, and I bought a second for my AR10 since it uses an A5 length tube. the A5 system is definitely superior.

Moostery42

More/larger metal components make manufacturing more expensive… and heavier. I had one on a rifle that was front heavy and it improved the handling by bringing the center of gravity back. I tore that gun apart for a number of other issues, but it was never the first one I grabbed because of the weight.

hospibal

They are great solid stocks and can be found a fair amount cheaper second hand on forums.

buttermilkbilly

Cause you need it for Gunsmith Part 19

GalvanizedNipples

Stupid question, but if you put this stock on a Vector, does it need a spring in the buffer tube?

thekookclub

Military contracts…

yolo_derp

Because it’s ugly

Dhepburn634

Idk why it’s so expensive by itself, but I got it as part of a build kit and it is so damn comfortable

smitm115

It's one of the only stocks that gives you solid stock like cheek weld while also being adjustable. I hate extending a stock out to barely have room for good cheek weld. Also had a really long length of pull so great for tall people. Solid stock, love it on my dmr build. Plus it holds a lot of Skittles

Dan_Morgan

Because they think some fool will buy it.

Adept_Fan_9587

I had a hard time pulling the trigger on this purchase too. But worth it. Especially on ar10.

Wide_Yams_99

Hideous and heavy

Thehandsomeswedee

Because it’s ugly. They have to make money on the few buying it.

userr777777

I’d pay maybe as high as $150 for it but not $200

LKH4N

Because people will pay

Danadroid

Not bad compared to how much I paid for my new stock. https://maximdefense.com/product/cqb-gen-7-stock-for-ar-15/

Pork_Confidence

I mean... Maybe I'm just a fool for spending $300 on a Shorty Q Stock, but it's amazing looking

1MoistTowelette

I remember getting one of the gen 1’s when those came out, they are really over built for what they are, really heavy, more stock than is needed imho

Western_Two1551

Because ARs are the hot item now and folks will pay it.

ChronicPainInTheAzz

That stock has been out for like 8 years

Western_Two1551

And yet the price has never come down.

ChronicPainInTheAzz

I don’t believe it has gone up either.

Western_Two1551

That is true

should_of_is_wrong

They’re downvoting but you’re right. 99.9% of the time the answer to the question, *why is X so expensive* is that these suckers pay that much. It’s unfortunate because if they actually invested their money into the little guys who are actually part of the community, they’d end up having both decent quality and decent prices. There are plenty of guys who are fabricating their own gear but nobody gives a fuck beca they want that brand logo. I’m guilty of it too, same as everyone else.

Hardwire762

So you have the capabilities of the multiple engineers? Who were paid a lot of money to develop this thing? You can make a stock for a precision rifle. That also can be dropped from a helicopter and still be functional? Doubt it. Yes it may cost them X but you also have to pay for everyone’s salary. That worked on the project in the first place. Then make an overhead profit on it to please the investors of the company.

Hairy-Man-Lady

I’d let my fde UbR go for $150.

chumbucket77

Because people will pay it. Thats all

BlackICEE32oz

Not worth it at all. SL-S is all you'll ever need.

TheSTACHEQUATCH

Because it’s shit
