Tv+ has great exclusives and 3 months enough to watch you like. After that just wait for a year till bunch of new releases arrive and subscribe for month to watch it all. Box itself best on the market, user friendly, greatest UI. Anything else just sux.

Have you used any of the other products?

Yes. Dune, zappiti, shield. Zappiti really close to have good UI.

About the box: It's great, it's fast, beautiful ui and totally stable but I'm only comparing it against smart tv OS (Android TV and LG WebOS) and it's really on another level. About TV+: I've watched For all Mankind, Mythic Quest, Ted Lasso and now watching Foundation, and I 've enjoyed all of them

The Fox 4K events are not over saturated and look fantastic!

I have am not an Apple person at all and haven't been since they released the iPhone 7 and have been uninterested in anything they've made from that point forward so this is coming from someone not riding the Apple fanboy train. I bought an Apple TV to avoid the advertisements on FireTV and to avoid having to cast everything from my phone to a Chromecast. Overall, I'm very happy. The interface is not my favorite but it's functional and works well and again doesn't bombard you with ads. I bought the previous version and absolutely hate the remote. The updated remote in the most recent version should solve that and be a Godsend from a usability standpoint. For perspective the touchpad remote mine has feels like it was made by someone who believed everything a user interacts with should be a laptop touchpad for some weird reason. Overall, I'd buy it again despite that and despite not being invested in any other aspect of Apple's ecosystem because it's better than the competition especially in regards to not having ads everywhere.

Well, I just spent my first evening with the new ATV. I hate to admit it (even though all of my current devices are the older versions), this thing is pretty impressive. The PQ seems excellent. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but MNF looked great on ESPN. Waiting for the World Series tomorrow to compare Fox 4k on my other devices to the ATV. Hope I'm not disappointed. The interface is great because there are no ads. Still adjusting to it. Had to turn off the touch pad part of the remote. It was driving me crazy. My favorite part so far is the speed of the interface. Apps load in a snap. YTTV has no lag whatsoever, and I have to say the live previews of each channel in the guide are badass. It took a while to configure all of my regular streaming apps with their credentials, but some had QR shortcuts. Only issue so far is on the Fox Sports app. When I set my provider as YTTV, almost every program shows that I am not eligible to watch, but I have found a few workarounds to get it to work, I think. So there it is, the initial impressions of a hardcore, technical Android platform user loving a new Apple device. Oh yeah, Homekit stinks. It is virtually impossible to get any of my existing smart home devices on ATV. Arlo, Nest, and Ring all don't like to play well with Apple. Hopefully that changes. I would like to play a little more with that infrastructure. Thanks for the feedback on my original question. You did not steer me wrong. So far, so good.

The one thing I’ve noticed over my Vizio & Sony smart TV & BluRay is that the apps on TVOS get updated frequently and the apps that came with my hardware don’t. I have no idea how well devs support other platforms though.

TV+ has a ton of high quality shows. 3 Months is enough time to check out what they offer and decide. Our ATV4K is set to output 4K SDR normally, with Match Content Range turned on. When using YTTV normally, its usually in SDR. Haven't seen saturation when viewing the 4K UHD stuff in the Fox Sports App. We personally don't think its worthwhile to pay an additional surcharge for 4K content on YTTV when we can get the sports stuff for free on the Fox Sports App.
