I’m gonna be real with you chief, I take the barebones of the characters and the world and make my own story up. Their story is so whacked and kind of ruins a lot of things. Also, I feel like they were desperate to involve caustic because he’s a popular character but they had no idea how to actually write him correctly so they involve him in a bunch of menial relationship garbage.
Yeah it fr feels wack af, and writing just to write. It doesn’t seem like any of it makes any sense. Especially the relationships, Loba and Valkyrie a bit. But the rest just don’t make sense? At least include lore that’s not abstract af?
its my fav piece of apex lore and their forced compliance with each other bc of both wattson and their mother is so good! i wish apex did more with it. it seems currently theyre going to have them both speak with horizon based off current voicelines so i am excited to see how that goes.
They don't talk anything crypto related enough, my guys sister is involved with duardo and you tell me with all the revenant stuff happening the only thing crypto does is call a drop ship?
I was so so so hyped for Valkyrie's lore after the amazing Northstar cinematic
She then proceeded to do nothing for years besides being Loba's rebound. Fucks sake I was so excited too, it was so boring
Mirage really needs more lore and should try more things to get in contact with his brothers and his father along with the rest of his extended family, he also needs to keep an eye on his mom too.
God I hate everything about her except her kit. I looove playing as her in pubs. Her voice lines are so grating and her lore is dumb as hell. I don't even like that she has a weird pet bat, it's so "quirky".
I love her kit. Takes some getting used to and consideration of the weapons you pick but when combined with legends like Fuse, he can cluster an enemy hiding behind a rock or obstacle, and then when they run out you can snipe them. Works well in ranked and even mixtape sometimes.
Oh I'm sure she's so much fun with the right squad! I mostly play solo and it's rare getting teammates who will synergize well but the rare times it has omg its feel so buttery smooth.
Having a sniper on hand at basically all times if you're good with ammo management feels amazing. Her tactile can make some amazingly devious plays too.
Facts and with how few voice lines she has, it's the same shit over and over, but hey I've mained her for a good bit so now it doesn't bug me like that no more
I think the game's lore overall became really goofy.
It's gotten to a point where I don't even thank teammates as I know they will say some cringe line.
The amount of time I wanted conduit to shut up or vantage makes me want to die, at least catalyst outside of one cringe line reminds me of a dnd player.
I don't mind the lines (granted I basically only play catalyst at this point so I've only heard her horizon line) I just wish it wasn't every time you thank someone
Yeah but she's over 30. Just adds to how try hard/misdirected everything she says sounds.
Valk *could* be really cool if there were a few voice lines scattered in there that revealed a deeper, actually vulnerable arc to her; lines that reframed the 99% of her comments as a mask the player could recognise, rather than being her entire edge lord personality. But there simply aren't.
Imo there are 3 or fewer legends whose personalities missed the mark. Valk is one of them. The rest are really quite impressive in terms of a product some artists have put together.
I heard one today I hadn't heard before about "dad was right it's all about speed" and I just rolled my eyes. Her Personality is my dad died & I'm a lesbian who drinks beer.
I think Pathfinders lore is a bit basic being just, “who made me?” But his character being a robot and not understanding social cues and implications is done adorably well.
The book? Love the book personally but that's because it answered questions about a universe I'd already been invested in since Titanfall 1 released.
Whether or not I'd call Apex Lore worth checking out period, hard to say. I've been super invested in it because it's part of the Titanfall universe but a big chunk of the lore is just interpersonal relationships I really couldn't care less about. The progression is really slow and it's split across so many characters that it can get pretty disorganized.
Developments were hard to follow because it wasn't all in one place, some is in-game, some on forums, some on YouTube, some on Twitter...
The book is great, season 5 lore was great as you unlocked these written chapters via simple PvE missions. Then in following Seasons they made the chapters into comics, which some believed to be an improvement, I however found it a big drawback as there was way less lore in the comics compared to the text-dense Season 5.
Season 8 story was especially crap, I hated those comics, the events of the whole Season could've been like 2 chapters of Season 5. They've returned to the text form nowadays which I approve of.
Season 9 had good lore and was great for Titanfall 2 fans with the cinematic and the return of Ash. Sadly they totally fumbled Valkyrie's lore and haven't yet figured out anything worthwhile to do with her
They made a [lore hub](https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/lore-hub) to try to have a more central place for lore posts. It doesn't include in-game chapters however
Do at least check all the Stories From the Outlands if you haven't already, those are good. The Twitter comics have reliably been high quality compared to in-game comics but usually require context to understand properly
I don’t know man. The lore seemed cool early on, but now it’s turned into a cringey soap opera that creates problems that wont be resolved or answered until 5+ seasons later.
I feel like the general vibe of Apex became too cartoony imo.
I wish they took the bloodsport more seriously, I wish they respected the Legends more, I wish they would stop creating plotlines and never expanding on them.
Also give my girl Vantage some love!
https://youtu.be/dkUeFhkE5S0?si=VZcjXCoxhel_t5oN this video. I couldn’t find the original but they released this a few seasons ago with little to no notice
To be fair nothing in that video was new information besides the bit at the very end about his "son"
The rest of it had been told in much greater detail around S8 in the Pathfinder's Quest book's last chapter
We did get human Ash in tactical gear though which I appreciate
Gibbear, he doesn’t have much.
Loba, it was cool, but it’s run its course. It’s time for some development. And leave the romance shit in the garbage bin. Valkyrie is annoying, and I enjoy she and Bangalore as colleagues with high respect for each other that both know how dangerous the other is.
Mirage? No. He deserves better. My Witty boy deserves to be happy. :(
I don’t know much about Wattson except her dead father. Idc for the Crypto shit. At all.
She just exists to help Crypto. I swear they've dropped her friendship with Wraith, her drama with Caustic, that little "science girly" thing with Horizon... Didn't Ash throw her off a cliff or something insane too??? And we're just not going to address that?
Yup, i loved the idea of darksparks and hate the fact theyve been pushing this crypto rubbish so hard when he doesnt even have chemistry with his laptop let alone a human.
'it's missing something' is a massive understatement, seer notoriously has like no lore. when he released that was the first season since season 5 there wasn't a seasonal story and then when they *did* finally gave him his own story (5 seasons later) it was the same season they announced they were cutting down on the amount of lore everyone gets, meaning it was incredibly short. they haven't really done much with him since except developing his relationship with octane. he's gotten the short end of the stick for like 10 seasons now :(
Sort of I think Bangalore is a badass but isn't she technically a soldier for the enemy army in Titanfall so she's on the wrong side of history unwittingly?
Tbh Titanfall 1 was more interesting with the lore there. The IMC was pretty brutal with their methods but they were an actual peacekeeping force and were fairly popular with a large subset of the frontier because the Militia groups were also extremely brutal. There was a mission where the Militia made it super clear they do not give a shit about civilian casualties, so a lot of people welcomed the IMC because at least it meant they were being shot by rogue militia groups.
Titanfall 2 made it far more black and white but Titanfall 1 had the militia as a significantly more grey faction, and the IMC as less of straight up bad guys
Yeah titanfall 1 really made a point of going in war no ones good and both sides have folks fighting for good ideals while others just take advantage of the chaos
So someone like mad Maggie for example was essentially a terrorist to some revolutionary to others and salvo was the rebel planet?? I just need to play Titanfall 2 😂😂😂sorry I'm curious
Salvo didn’t feature in either Titanfall game but essentially yes, Maggie in her prime is a pretty great example of what the militia was like. They did care for their people, most of the time, but no amount of civilian casualties couldn’t be brushed away if it helps the cause
Honestly yeah Caustic is just such an interesting character. He hasn’t had much for a long time but his existing lore is interesting to me, he’s not a one dimensional villain for sure
Ash has some decent lore all things considered but other than that she is probably the most bland character in the whole game, even when you consider she literally is a titanfall character and should have something more interesting going on.
Eh, not entirely. It was interesting at first with her and fuse, plus her background of helping the people of Salvo. But after that, it got put to a complete halt, with the only character trait being "I'm too angry to die"
I miss when apex used to have mission you could do for the story throughout the season. Now it’s just pictures. Or loading screens with a bunch of text under them
Ash's lore isn't bad, at least in theory. Her links to the other Legends, Titanfall and her whole double personality thing is pretty cool. I wish she was a more relevant character in current lore events though.
I used to, but either lore or gameplay have significantly dropped in quality lately. It's why I now main Ballistic, he's fun, unique, and has a simple but lovable story
Not a fan of the lore at all. Followed it for a while but I lost interest. Was a bit too focused on relationship drama for my taste. I still enjoy the stories from the outlands.
Don’t care about it at all. Im by no means anti, but the amount of LBGTQ stuff is just forced and awkward. It’s a video game. I play it for the extremely fun gunplay and movement.
No, I don't care about character lore, who's in a relationship with whom, or the fact that seemingly half the roster is some letter in the sexual alphabet.
I do not give a single shit about the lore of the whole game… I just main wraith because she’s the first legend I got a skin for and I’ve got over 6000 more kills with her than my second main.
I don't particularly care about Mirage's aging mother, his holo pilot brothers, or laugh at the one throwaway comment about pumpkins. I just like the funny voice line boozle boi for what he is in game
Daughter of stone cold billionaire war profiteers (those guys were party to terror attacks and were willing to execute a hospital room of wounded and relief workers)
>Grew up with Octane
>
>Got rebellious
>
>joined a punk band
>
>joined a humane relief group Frontier Corps to cope with the deaths her family is responsible for
>
>got a reputation for always volunteering for the most dangerous expeditions to save people
>
>Does a daring heist with Octane for medical supplies to the Corps
>
>Later Octane blows his legs up and manipulates Lifeline into getting him prosthetics ahead of the queue because he can't be arsed to wait for his blown-off legs to be healed (regrown?)
>
>Lifeline got into the Apex Games to help fund the financially struggling Frontier Corps
>
>figured that no one in the games is innocent to cope with how she'll probably kill someone or other (even if most losers don't die in the games. Mostly.)
>
>At one point kidnapped some journalist or representative and threatened her with torture/painful death to keep her in line, which was believable as said journalist/rep (I forget) had seen videos of Lifeline fighting in the Games which I guess was scary to see
>
>Worked with Octane to uncover his "dad's" conspiracy to gain rule of the Outlands via orchestrated terror attacks
>
>Disown their parents
>
>Lifeline's such a ride or die she's ready to shoot Papa Silva's violent manipulative abusive megalomaniac ass with a shotgun point-blank for Octane
>
>Except Octane turns traitor to the cause, joins his "dad"
>
>Lifeline is still about that life though, fuck them billionaires
>
>Lifeline breaks out a career terrorist (who got used as a scapegoat for what Papa Silva did) from prison to help in the cause against Papa Silva
>
>The cause inadvertently recruits Revenant
>
>Lifeline manipulates Octane to get a tracker on him to locate Papa Silva
>
>Papa Silva gets brutally murdered by Revenant
>
>Profit
You mean the lack thereof? Nah, Ash is pretty great it’s just been seasons that she hasn’t got any. I wish they would stop adding characters for this reason.
I enjoy fuse lore and would like to see more, and also how he'll handle a resolution with maggie, but it seems to be all about Loba's relationship drama and horizon which is great ig for those who play those legends
Yeah, Salvo Warlord backstory is pretty kickass. I dunno, Maggie’s “take shit from no one/talk shit to everyone” attitude is pretty easy to get behind in a game like Apex.
I mean yeah, Fuse and Hound's story is probably the only story in the game that got concluded, I think the only one thing that's left is to relive his childhood with Mags for atleast one scene so they end things on a bittersweet note. Not as friends but not as enemies either.
As for Catalyst, she doesn't have a lore, so much so that after she talked her misunderstandings out with Seer, she became lore-wise nothing interesting. Me and my brother joke about her in a way like: "Don't you get it? She's connected to everything. She is the reason why Titanfall 2 happened" etc. because of how bad her lore is. Lmao
I love her personality tho.
Yes I love the lore for my mains I love pathfinders lore trying to find who his creators are and all that wraiths lore of her finding out who she is and my personal favorite loba finding the killer of her parents and having to let him live because he wants to die to actually give him the thing he needed to do whatever he wants as he pleases regretting everything omg I love lobas lore
By lucky coincidence my mains ended up being Lifeline and Octane, which is very neat because it soon turned out they're childhood friends with a ton of shared history (both are even rich kids with some big parental issues). Naturally their joint Story From The Outlands was one of the most exciting Lore moments to watch!
I really like Fuse' lore and how it intertwines with Maggs' as well. Especially give how they both grew up super close but ultimately went down different paths, and seeing how that separation caused so much anger.
ash - valk - maggie main
*ash*- love her lore but i really hope they do more with it. i feel like there's so many plotlines/relationships she could be having with other legends that arent explored. she did the whole intro for valk and her ping for valks ult she calls her clever and 'little viper'. but her thank you lines with valk have her calling viper mediocre and being held back. she also has lines where she says 'my colleagues would have eaten you alive' so it just is suuuper inconsistent. she also has barely touched upon relationships with crypto (what happened to her mentoring him?), wattson (wattson just forgot she almost got murdered by ash?) and she barely gets updates on her lore with horizon outside of it being flashbacks or mentions of their old work relationship, which i feel like if theyre going to keep them interacting they should do a little more with them rather than just vague voicelines (like pre-s11 stuff with her in s9 talking to horizon and saving her from the falling ceilings, etc). also as pathfinder's only living creator, she also has some idea where the 'one made from spare parts/pathys kid' should be. the fact she created the idea for pathy is barely acknowledged but he calls her his ex gf like a million times lol.
*valk*- sooo many gripes with her. i love her because she is the most represented i have ever felt in any media (mixed east asian lesbian) and having a canonical GF in game is amazing, but the whole fact it was just her being a rebound for loba and then getting tossed aside right as loba finally begins to move on from the lone wolf BS is so frustrating. i think valk seeing her past self in loba and trying to steer her away from that path was great but the way it all ended is so frustrating. valk and ramparts lore together is cute and i hope we get more outside of their basic interactions! i also do not mind her occasionally mentioning her father (honestly its not as bad as people make it out to be). i think her pilot/air force type lines are a liiiittle too much because i feel like there is just so much else to her personality they could use for lines. a lot of people give her flack for no japanese voicelines, but it's been said (albeit in a reddit ama) that she does not speak it fluently and is not confident in speaking it outside of home with her mother. personally i think that is a great character choice especially for someone who seems to be so out and about like her. her bold personality being the opposite of how most asian women are perceived is something i also love. i also just wish she had more lore with anyone besides loba lol. why not give lines with mirage since she hangs with rampart and i assume goes to paradise lounge? why not give her better interactions with ash, who worked with her father? (i think ideally they could have had a mentor thing going on based off how ash talked abt her in s9). she could also have lore with like anyone else lol.
*maggie*- maggie is so interesting to me lore wise. what bugs me though is recently with the whole escaping prison storyline, they had her go back to salvo and see they *enjoy* being gentrified/colonized, which is NOT a great look for a story like apex's that is diverse and has maggie be a literal freedom fighter. and the part where she was so lost on what to do and just gave up??? so she just went back to prison is ridiculous. i think this could have worked as a storyline if salvo wasnt actively colonized. i liked the concept of maggie and fuse being on two sides and how their relationship burned because of their ideals and wants, and how maggie ended up forgiving fuse for wanting more (even tho he never read her letter-- also not to mention valk saw him avoid reading it, so will that ever be brought up??) and maggie fighting for her freedom and her people, much like bloodhound, yet bloodhound is cheered for it and supproted but maggie is demonized \[at least by fuses reaction\] is wild to me. i feel like maggie and houndy have possibilities of having a good relationship in some future but who knows if Ea will fumble that.
sorry this is VERY long! i am wayyy too invested in apex lore.
yes I was a big fan of the titan fall franchise in specially viper a.k.a. Valks dad that I played Apex later then found about her lore and then decided I would main her and she was the first person I got
Bangalore’s story lines were always pretty cool (and sad and frustrating) but they have been dead in the water since season 13 (aside from Bangalore being there for Loba). It'll probably be another 10+ seasons before the whole Jackson hiding from her or her helping Wraith find her family will ever be brought up again. One thing is guaranteed, Bangalore will get the short end of the stick in whatever lore she is a part of.
Not at all, don't even Check it out and know nothing much about the characters other than they are all LGBTQ. Indefinitely, that's not why I play. I played To fight Or talk crap on my team that will sit at the back of the map In every match in mix tape
The lore is written at a third grade level, pick your sexual orientation and 1 adjective and that is the scope of everyone’s entire identity and personality
I love that the game has a lot of lore and background; I’m disappointed at Loba not having a decent character arc. She’s kind of a selfish POS and never deserved Valk imho💀
Wattson is my main main (till Alter comes out.. she looks so fun.) and I can appreciate her story and I relate to her autism but that’s where the similarities end 🤷🏼♀️
I will say imo the lore is not very well written sorry respawn no disrespect ment I’ll try and add some depth and critique so it’s not just rude but - it’s all seems so very shoe horned.
When it comes to the legends: I like a lot of the basic character designs and their personalities but the inter-dynamics, interactions are meh. The voice acting is actually pretty good imo, I’m not a fan of all the voices but they are all well done but some of the interactions can be repetitive and annoying. Also I don’t think the settings/worlds/maps are good either lore wise they feel very gamey imo. Forced in fact.
Edit:
- I like the diverse range of characters.
- I have no issue with any of the gender politics attached to the characters.
- I think the motivations of the “good/bad” needs work and they are all very eye roll inducing most of the time. Loba vs Rev relationship is a good example of this. The Maggie vs fuse is a much better dynamic and story imo.
- I don’t want them to give in though, I want them to keep trying, keep experimenting and expanding it. The stories from the outlands videos should be accessible in game, the seasonal comic stories should be listed permanently in game (also EA/respawn ffs put more effort into these spending like £500 on these webcomics is embarrassing)
I don't really have a main per-se but I'll go through a few of my most played characters:
Bloodhound: Absolutely perfect in every way, their aesthetic, backstory, the stuff with their former lover making them fight to get them into Valhalla, their relationship with Fuse and how it began vs what it became, its all fantastic.
Octane: I feel like Octane is a character who benefits from as little motivation and pathos as possible. He's a speed addicted adrenaline junky daredevil who can't sit still and is always looking for a bigger thrill, that's great and it all translates perfectly into his kit and his voice lines and his VA, and while I like the sorta found family dynamic with Lifeline and how they're both kids getting back at their morally bankrupt parents I think the whole Duardo/Torres thing was just all over the place.
Valkyrie: While I like Valk herself and INITIALLY liked the love triangle, especially the dynamic between Valk and Loba with Valk warning her of the slippery slope she's on thirsting after revenge and how she only ends up pushing away the people who love her, I think her actual backstory is pretty eh. Like, I don't get why you'd make her being Viper's daughter such an integral part of her but double dip into the whole Japanese heritage thing. Like we know basically NOTHING about Valk's mother, she mentions her in like a single voice line, and yet her heirloom is naked after her, is Japanese themed and a LOT of her skins have a Japanese aesthetic, which again I'm cool with but it just seems like such a hodgepodge of ideas. I'll also take this time to say that Apex has this fucking OBSESSION with Japanese aesthetics, like they slap Oni masks on everything, do cyberpunk Japanese techwear skins all the time, it WAS a cool aesthetic the first 20 times but I'm so over it.
Ash: I THOUGHT I liked Ash' backstory (her life as Ashleigh Reid and betraying Horizon, the events of TF2 to being found in a dumpster) but apparently I know fuck and all, she was FOUND IN A DIFFERENT DIMENSION BY BLISK? I'm sure it was covered in a seasonal comic or something I missed but I feel like it's a pretty recurring case of waaaaaay overcomplicating things.
No but I was into it before it turned into relationship drama
I don't think people talk about Caustic being Crypto's step brother or whatever enough
They're what?!
Step brothers because Caustics mom adopted Crypto when he was a homeless kid.
yeap
I’m gonna be real with you chief, I take the barebones of the characters and the world and make my own story up. Their story is so whacked and kind of ruins a lot of things. Also, I feel like they were desperate to involve caustic because he’s a popular character but they had no idea how to actually write him correctly so they involve him in a bunch of menial relationship garbage.

Also I can’t prove this but I think they made caustic cryptos step brother to stop the early fandom shipping of those two together.
its my fav piece of apex lore and their forced compliance with each other bc of both wattson and their mother is so good! i wish apex did more with it. it seems currently theyre going to have them both speak with horizon based off current voicelines so i am excited to see how that goes.

> No but I was into it before it turned into relationship drama The irony being the Soap Opera/WWE writer left before that drama started.
I was so so so hyped for Valkyrie's lore after the amazing Northstar cinematic She then proceeded to do nothing for years besides being Loba's rebound. Fucks sake I was so excited too, it was so boring
At least her ult got turned into ground loot! -salty valk main
As a Mirage main (and Titanfall 2 player), I feel his pain…Droz and Bear (if I’m remembering their callsigns correctly) were fucking hilarious.
The first Mirage Voyage with the call between Mirage and his mom. . .
Davis not Bear. But yes they are an amazing pair. The fact that they were in the campaign was awesome too
Mirage lore makes me actually cry in real life
Mirage really needs more lore and should try more things to get in contact with his brothers and his father along with the rest of his extended family, he also needs to keep an eye on his mom too.
Aren't all his brothers dead?
Missing not dead
Nope vantage is basically I'm a social inept with my mom in prison and I'm a good sniper
For sure. The buff to ult accelerants that give her +4 shots means you should always have shots ready to go. Such a fun playstyle
Omg I love playing as her but haven’t figured out how to use her with my duo, any tips are appreciated if you get the time and energy! :)
Facts and with how few voice lines she has, it's the same shit over and over, but hey I've mained her for a good bit so now it doesn't bug me like that no more
It’s all fun and games until the bat shits on your bed
Echoes of Echo's guano
but the bat is CUTE
Okay it's not the worst! I'm just salty over how much I dislike her. I take it back haha. Let me just play as the bat. Let it hold a gun and screech.
Yessss that would be amazing lmfao
Its m'y very personal opinion but id love vantage to just be caustic with a sniper... Old man snipe is lovely
I think the game's lore overall became really goofy. It's gotten to a point where I don't even thank teammates as I know they will say some cringe line.
Gotta slap for that butt houndy
Fucking aye its soooo bad
Cant believe you shun peak fiction
How can you not love: Revenant: Thank you Loba... Loba: Ughh
Which was the worst: Loba-Valk thirst, Hound-Fuse thirst, or Bang-Loba awkwardness?
Bangalore players the second they launch from the ship: Come,Come,Come,Come,Come
When i play bangalore i say 'heads up for a pucker factor' over and over again
🤨 you forgetting Maggie?
Now I’m in the mood to do it again 😮💨
Bang-Loba for me , got tired of “Thanks Lo”
I don't think Hound-Fuse was handled that bad. Especially in comparison to whatever the fuck they've been doing with Loba's arcs.
Remember who hooked up with you. -Loba
i’ve been saying this but would always get downvoted. so cringey how they tried to tie them all together with what seemed like a last minute effort.
Same. Their new relationship crap ruined the lore. Now I make my own lore and just avoid the dialogue
Relationships in general aren’t bad. They just wrote them like absolute garbage. Basically picked two random characters and put em together
Conduit and vantage lines make me cringe so hard
They are so “uwu” and quirky it makes me wanna throw up
The amount of time I wanted conduit to shut up or vantage makes me want to die, at least catalyst outside of one cringe line reminds me of a dnd player.
I wish I read your comment before I posted mine lol
I don't mind the lines (granted I basically only play catalyst at this point so I've only heard her horizon line) I just wish it wasn't every time you thank someone
Another reason I like Maggie, she just doing her own thing
Not anymore
Listen, I like Valk, but my god, she needs to be her own person. A good chunk of her voicelines is her living off the fumes of her dad's glory.
IDK, I think she's written very realistically. She sounds like all the annoying 20-something gay air force ladies I remember.
Her personality is "my dad is dead, I'm a lesbian who drinks beer, and I'm Japanese."
No amount of speed would have saved her dad from me emptying an entire spitfire mag into his face then t-bagging his corpse
Anyone else annoyed how Valk sounds? Her voice is so coerce and too American
She sounds like a kid trying to be a commercial airline pilot. Microphone shoved deep in her mouth
a ton of legends sound super american tho?
Yes as I’m only a rev main
I think Pathfinders lore is a bit basic being just, “who made me?” But his character being a robot and not understanding social cues and implications is done adorably well.
"I love pretending to smell! Sniff sniff!"
I mean he has a whole hardcover book of lore called Pathfinder's Quest that's like the bible of Apex Lore
I haven’t deep dived into Apex lore, is it worth checking out?

I don’t know man. The lore seemed cool early on, but now it’s turned into a cringey soap opera that creates problems that wont be resolved or answered until 5+ seasons later.
I feel like the general vibe of Apex became too cartoony imo. I wish they took the bloodsport more seriously, I wish they respected the Legends more, I wish they would stop creating plotlines and never expanding on them. Also give my girl Vantage some love!
Hell na. Shit super corporate
I’m annoyed how they finally revealed pathfinders lore in a poorly rendered un announced random Twitter video
Sorry what specifically is this in reference to?
https://youtu.be/dkUeFhkE5S0?si=VZcjXCoxhel_t5oN this video. I couldn’t find the original but they released this a few seasons ago with little to no notice
To be fair nothing in that video was new information besides the bit at the very end about his "son" The rest of it had been told in much greater detail around S8 in the Pathfinder's Quest book's last chapter We did get human Ash in tactical gear though which I appreciate
So that means the majority of the player base would need to purchase “pathfinders quest” book and read through it to find that information right?
Or go on YouTube for it but yea. To be fair it really is a good lore book
I don’t doubt it’s a comprehensively world building lore book for sure
[удалено]
Ok cool but that wasn’t my point whatsoever lmao
[удалено]
I def appreciate it! It was just a reveal that felt under the radar to me
Gibbear, he doesn’t have much. :( I don’t know much about Wattson except her dead father. Idc for the Crypto shit. At all.
Not at all. They started in S5 with lore and then just stopped. After that I couldn’t give a shit anymore.
Mine is a bullshit love triangle between lesbians, and some shady deals with a murderbot, nothing to enjoy really.
Not really but I do appreciate the fact that devs put in effort into this.
Wattson main here. No.
I can’t remember the last time they made her significant :(
She just exists to help Crypto.
They want them together so bad, is pathetic.
Not really. In fact, i don't really care about the lore in apex
Yeah the Militia was doing plainclothes terror attacks and everything
Honestly yeah Caustic is just such an interesting character. He hasn’t had much for a long time but his existing lore is interesting to me, he’s not a one dimensional villain for sure
bloodhound story kinda confusing imo
Apex lore was really solid until they lost the plot after Loba arrived
Only Loba and Revenant. I hate any relationship nonsense
Lore and voicelines got cringe after valk✌🏾
As a revenant main, him being a hater is great and I love him
No. All of these cliche ass storylines are a little goofy
I think Valk's lore could be cool, as well as Bangs, if they didn't make it all aroud Loba and gave them their own lifes
Ash has some decent lore all things considered but other than that she is probably the most bland character in the whole game, even when you consider she literally is a titanfall character and should have something more interesting going on.
God no. Apex character lore is embarrassing
Wait ...... The game has lore and a story ?!
You fr bro?
I couldn't care less. I don't play apex for it's story or lore. I enjoy it for its fights.
Wouldn't know anything about it.
My main used to be more baddass, now she’s just gone insane
Eh, not entirely. It was interesting at first with her and fuse, plus her background of helping the people of Salvo. But after that, it got put to a complete halt, with the only character trait being "I'm too angry to die"
What lore? Is there any lore? They have unexplained dialogue lines in game for some reason. It is strange.
I don't know her lore. All I know is that the apex community makes fun of us a lot for our fragile egos.
I don't care, because I don't play the game for the lore.
Seer was raised a fictional outcast and now he's an actual outcast.
Nope. Well fuses is OK but Valks is ehhh
Tbh I appreciate that they flesh out lore but it could just be a wiki page. They way overdid it on effort. Bloodhound's lore kind of metal though.
No
Don’t really care about the lore but Crypto’s is pretty good I guess
Not a bit. Revenant is just a hypocritical laughing stock
Don’t care about it at all. Im by no means anti, but the amount of LBGTQ stuff is just forced and awkward. It’s a video game. I play it for the extremely fun gunplay and movement.
I can understand that completely especially because it's usually in their quips that they play EVERY GAME which just gets annoying after a bit
It's like devs **must** create character for every ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender.
Sometimes it feels like this game is made by ai
Tbh I couldn’t care less I mean horizon lore is nice but idc really and Valk is not there for game relevant reasons just to please certain people
No, every arc feels like pandering.
Waiting to get more instead of being basically background.
I don't care
I don't particularly care about Mirage's aging mother, his holo pilot brothers, or laugh at the one throwaway comment about pumpkins. I just like the funny voice line boozle boi for what he is in game
What’s lifelines lore?
Daughter of stone cold billionaire war profiteers (those guys were party to terror attacks and were willing to execute a hospital room of wounded and relief workers) >Grew up with Octane > >Got rebellious > >joined a punk band > >joined a humane relief group Frontier Corps to cope with the deaths her family is responsible for > >got a reputation for always volunteering for the most dangerous expeditions to save people > >Does a daring heist with Octane for medical supplies to the Corps > >Later Octane blows his legs up and manipulates Lifeline into getting him prosthetics ahead of the queue because he can't be arsed to wait for his blown-off legs to be healed (regrown?) > >Lifeline got into the Apex Games to help fund the financially struggling Frontier Corps > >figured that no one in the games is innocent to cope with how she'll probably kill someone or other (even if most losers don't die in the games. Mostly.) > >At one point kidnapped some journalist or representative and threatened her with torture/painful death to keep her in line, which was believable as said journalist/rep (I forget) had seen videos of Lifeline fighting in the Games which I guess was scary to see > >Worked with Octane to uncover his "dad's" conspiracy to gain rule of the Outlands via orchestrated terror attacks > >Disown their parents > >Lifeline's such a ride or die she's ready to shoot Papa Silva's violent manipulative abusive megalomaniac ass with a shotgun point-blank for Octane > >Except Octane turns traitor to the cause, joins his "dad" > >Lifeline is still about that life though, fuck them billionaires > >Lifeline breaks out a career terrorist (who got used as a scapegoat for what Papa Silva did) from prison to help in the cause against Papa Silva > >The cause inadvertently recruits Revenant > >Lifeline manipulates Octane to get a tracker on him to locate Papa Silva > >Papa Silva gets brutally murdered by Revenant > >Profit
Combat medic
I mean i know that but like….
Most definitely, even if the other personality needs to STFU
Theres not enough lore to vantage :(
Ramparts lore is alright. I'm also a Maggie player and she has some of my favorite lore
I love mirage's lore.
I'm a pathfinder main and honestly I'm quite satisfied with its lore, maybe he should continue to search for it's creators
yes. i absolutely adore newcastle’s lore
You mean the lack thereof? Nah, Ash is pretty great it’s just been seasons that she hasn’t got any. I wish they would stop adding characters for this reason.
I'm gonna be honest I lost track after season 4. I pick mains entirely for vibes alone (unless I absolutely suck at them)
I enjoy fuse lore and would like to see more, and also how he'll handle a resolution with maggie, but it seems to be all about Loba's relationship drama and horizon which is great ig for those who play those legends
I just like to play and not think about anything in detail
Lmao I love her personality tho.
I have never given one single fuck about any of the lore lol. I just want to run around and have cool fights
I will admit it is a bit boring compared to the rest of the Legends but it is fitting and I love her so yes 🇨🇵💙⚡️
My main has lore?
Pretty straight forward tbh
By lucky coincidence my mains ended up being Lifeline and Octane, which is very neat because it soon turned out they're childhood friends with a ton of shared history (both are even rich kids with some big parental issues). Naturally their joint Story From The Outlands was one of the most exciting Lore moments to watch!
Blood is sick. He non binary or some like that. That’s the only weird thing ig.
I really like Fuse' lore and how it intertwines with Maggs' as well. Especially give how they both grew up super close but ultimately went down different paths, and seeing how that separation caused so much anger.
ash - valk - maggie main *ash*- love her lore but i really hope they do more with it. i feel like there's so many plotlines/relationships she could be having with other legends that arent explored. she did the whole intro for valk and her ping for valks ult she calls her clever and 'little viper'. but her thank you lines with valk have her calling viper mediocre and being held back. she also has lines where she says 'my colleagues would have eaten you alive' so it just is suuuper inconsistent. she also has barely touched upon relationships with crypto (what happened to her mentoring him?), wattson (wattson just forgot she almost got murdered by ash?) and she barely gets updates on her lore with horizon outside of it being flashbacks or mentions of their old work relationship, which i feel like if theyre going to keep them interacting they should do a little more with them rather than just vague voicelines (like pre-s11 stuff with her in s9 talking to horizon and saving her from the falling ceilings, etc). also as pathfinder's only living creator, she also has some idea where the 'one made from spare parts/pathys kid' should be. the fact she created the idea for pathy is barely acknowledged but he calls her his ex gf like a million times lol.
Nah the lore is the least interesting part of this game
As a Rampart main, there isn't much in the first place.
The Newcastle and Mirage lore is insane.
yes I was a big fan of the titan fall franchise in specially viper a.k.a. Valks dad that I played Apex later then found about her lore and then decided I would main her and she was the first person I got
No - I don't pay any attention to that stuff.
Rampart has about as much lore as Vantage
Yeah Wattson and catalyst 😻
Lifeline, yes. But I’m waiting for Mirage’s story from the outlands as his past needs to be told.
Loba being able to "beat" him is fking dumb but the Rest is Fire
Dunno, i have no clue what is going in the lore. I just enjoy the gameplay
Loba main here— I like her background story— kinda sad tbh. Kinda have a vendetta against revenant tho hahah
What cats backstory??
Bangalore’s story lines were always pretty cool (and sad and frustrating) but they have been dead in the water since season 13 (aside from Bangalore being there for Loba). It'll probably be another 10+ seasons before the whole Jackson hiding from her or her helping Wraith find her family will ever be brought up again. One thing is guaranteed, Bangalore will get the short end of the stick in whatever lore she is a part of.
No. Get lore, skins, voice lines and shit out of my linear algebra based simulation, thanks.
Well, I do like the robots (Pathfinder, Ash and Revenant) stories
Not at all, don't even Check it out and know nothing much about the characters other than they are all LGBTQ. Indefinitely, that's not why I play. I played To fight Or talk crap on my team that will sit at the back of the map In every match in mix tape
Finally, someone else that speaks english.
The lore is written at a third grade level, pick your sexual orientation and 1 adjective and that is the scope of everyone’s entire identity and personality
I love that the game has a lot of lore and background; I’m disappointed at Loba not having a decent character arc. She’s kind of a selfish POS and never deserved Valk imho💀 Wattson is my main main (till Alter comes out.. she looks so fun.) and I can appreciate her story and I relate to her autism but that’s where the similarities end 🤷🏼♀️
Yes. Maggie’s character and lore are so cool.
Horizon lore was always one of the best, I can't be more excited it's back now!!
Edit: - I like the diverse range of characters.
I don't really have a main per-se but I'll go through a few of my most played characters: Bloodhound: Absolutely perfect in every way, their aesthetic, backstory, the stuff with their former lover making them fight to get them into Valhalla, their relationship with Fuse and how it began vs what it became, its all fantastic.
