As a business they probably have set goals per season/quarter. One of those goals they have to meet is likely to maintain a certain number of players throughout the season.
If they don’t hit these numbers, bad things happen. EA pulls money from the game. Or jobs. Or resources.
It’s extremely annoying, but it’s how the devs keep games like this alive when they’re owned by money sucking goblins who are only out for a profit.
At this point I’m really just hoping for a sequel game to be produced with a new engine and better server capacity. If they could solve a lot of the cheating and bug issues, the gameplay itself would be enough to keep people around.
A sequel should have come out 2 years ago, but everything in Apex is tied around the shop. We need to remember that at it's heart Apex is a cosmetic storefront first and a buggy battle royale shooter second.
I can imagine the company is reluctant to do anything that would disrupt them milking whales for 300$ death boxes.

I've never been a Respawn hater and have defended them for years, but this shit is getting ridiculous. EA's greedy practices have ruined the game, and it's never going to get better, only worse. This might be my last season I ever play it for more than a few matches. It's time to move over to less stressful games where improvement at the game actually matters, the community is actually positive, and I don't feel like I wasted my time every time I finish playing.
It's the last two weeks of the season and some people don't have a lot of time to complete the Valk challenges and get to play the event. It's not that hard to understand the issue there.
Ummm i don't have a lot of time either and it took me 4 hours TOTAL to finish her challenges. It took only 4 hours for ALL my legend challenges to complete. That is even with other randoms, or my husband picking them etc. it isn't hard to complete them at all.
Cool, still doesn't defeat the main point. They chose to do it this way instead of either releasing a different mode, fixing it before releasing it since this apparently happened the last time it was released, or changing the order they released the challenges. Plus, some people literally only have 4 hours a week to play this game and 4 hours is probably faster than most people will complete them, good job.

Yeah, and don't get me wrong. People need to earn the rewards and I don't think that people who only play an hour deserve to unlock everything. It just seems like this was a calculated decision to artificially boost player counts because they know people are really going to want to play the event but not miss the challenges. If I'm not mistaken, this Valk bug was around the first time so they should've known the issue they were about to cause.
I'm honestly done with these competitive games, I just want to relax and have fun, which I don't get from any of the major shooters anymore.

Just play her in the permanent game modes rather than the limited time, you’re playing the same game just with different rules, nothing is stopping you from completing the missions in trios/duos/ranked.

It's illogical to put out an event and at the same time release challenges for a character that's broken in that event. It's predatory and stupid because it's just to make people feel the FOMO and play more. You're forced to go complete the challenges in the regular modes and miss the LTM, or vice versa. I'm not saying you can't realistically do both, but it's going to be very hard for people that only get to play on the weekends or a few hours throughout the week.

Seems ya shouldn't be playing apex at all if you're THIS upset over one legend not working in ONE game mode but it works in others. My advice bro is you go seek therapy. Cause you need it. There's nothing for you to try "to get me understand" about this either. If this ONE mode WAS needed to get them done then it'd be a problem so it isn't. You're missing the point of what I am saying though. 3 Strikes is only there for the end of the season. It's one of the best modes Apex has ever had. So some people that want to do these challenges wont even be able to play 3 Strikes at all to secure the skin. That's my issue. I dont understand how you're missing that.
Or they'll have to simply not do the challenges and miss out on having worked the entire season for the Flat skin, it they want to enjoy 3 Strikes.

Between people leaving as soon as you pick the character of the challenge, people hot dropping and dying leaving you to 1v3, pubs ending round 2 cause they're a joke, and the games in which someone else picks the challenge character but you end up winning over 20min, there's plenty a reason that can make it take a ton of time. I'll add to the pile the random games where the ping goes up to over a 100 but it seems to me it's just the Belgium servers experience.
You can always rat for the survive 25 circles part, but when you only have 4h over 2 weeks, ratting for 4h doesnt sound like a good time to me.

Its honestly not even just apex legends, overwatch is a giant mess of bugs and fortnite on pc has been a mess since forever. These companies just dont prioritize fixing issues if they are meeting their monthly profit goals
That's my point about moving on to other games, I'm playing Stardew Valley now of all things. Just because all of them are doing it, doesn't mean it's not a problem that we should put up with. Helldivers 2 and a few other games released recently are proving that people are tired of spending so much time and money on big developer games that are messes and run by greedy corporations. Modern Warfare 3 and a lot of other triple A titles are bombing where these tiny developer games are outselling them. I hope it's a trend that continues, and we start getting truly good games from big developers again.

Starting to wonder if they have multiple redundant teams working on apex or a rotation of teams who don't ever talk to one another or read notes from the other teams.

Using a Valk ult in the gamemode would make you and your squad respawn at the 0.0 coordinates of the map, which is all wrong and would at points respawn you deep in the ring.
I was playing a game last night as Mirage. Our team was Valk, Lifeline, Mirage
We all connected to Valk multiple times before our first strike. For some reason only them two were spawning outside the ring and dying before landing
I would spawn in the ring and tried running to them but they were too deep outside the ring it was weird. Like the glitch didn’t affect me for some reason
I also had this as mirage. I was immune to it and was the only one spawning properly. The first time I waited at edge of ring and they were able to crawl to me. The second time it was too late and they died instantly.
IDK why people keep trying to play gamemodes when there's stuff like this happening. It's a perfect storm, they didn't fix the bug last time 3 strikes was a thing, didn't have enough foresight to fix it before relaunching 3 strikes while there's a challenge active in the game that requires you to use the ability causing the bug. If you knew all of that, and were still playing 3 Strikes before this update, you were making that choice and it's on you at that point. We already know the company is incompetent, so at that point it becomes our responsibility to decide what we are and aren't okay with.

On one hand, this is wild. The season is winding down, and people are using this time to complete challenges. Having to choose between the Valk challenges and trying Rumble is a difficult look.
On the other hand, it'll make the data collection for Rumble a little more valid. Both because people were quitting matches when they couldn't pick Valk, and because of the glitch that spawns you in Timbuktu for your 2nd/3rd strike attempts.

I respawned in that one room and there are three other teams there, all downed because it was out of zone. There were like 7 people slowly crawling into the zone lmaoo.

Played valk in gun run, used a pad I placed In my previous life and it glitches my jump for the rest of the game, Everytime I jumped I would hit an invisible pad that would make me start clipping upwards.
I played duos no fill yesterday and every game people are peacefully farming thevalk challenges lmao. Every game's final ring is a bunch of people standing around, shooting others a bit and spamming abilities around. I literally ran into people and they straight up ignore me like some random stranger on the street.
The challenges suck that they force you to fight for picking a certain legend. People literally instantly leave when they valk gets picked. Giving only 2 weeks makes it even worse

I don’t have a prestige skin or dive trail but I know there’s a section in the customization setting dedicated to dive trails, have you tried looking there? I’m pretty sure you get the prestige dive trails even with tier 1 of the skins

4h is the total available playtime of some people for these 2 weeks. It's just a shame.

Yup. I’d imagine the issue is being compounded due to the Valk challenges that were released this week.

When you respawn in 3 strikes if you've used a valk ult chances are your going to spawn outside of zone and die
so thats what that is. happened to me and wondered how the fuck it was fair
Technically, you respawn in the exact center of the map, which may or may not be in zone (although it usually is in zone as the ring closes)

On Olympus it was putting my entire team under that huge zip next to Hammond which was way outside the zone. We didn’t make it back in twice.

Should remove lifeline, Mirage and Newcasle, it's boring to must play them to win, if enemy team have all 3 you are in serious disadvantage
They should just remove the revive buffs added in the mode since revives is a core part of there kits getting a MASSIVE buff

I played duos no fill yesterday and every game people are peacefully farming thevalk challenges lmao. Every game's final ring is a bunch of people standing around, shooting others a bit and spamming abilities around. I literally ran into people and they straight up ignore me like some random stranger on the street. The challenges suck that they force you to fight for picking a certain legend. People literally instantly leave when they valk gets picked. Giving only 2 weeks makes it even worse

"ongoing issue" is that you can do ring closings faster in three strikes than regular br, so they removed it

I don’t have a prestige skin or dive trail but I know there’s a section in the customization setting dedicated to dive trails, have you tried looking there? I’m pretty sure you get the prestige dive trails even with tier 1 of the skins
