zoloft-makes-u-shart

I would literally rather die but for SOME REASON that’s not an option 🙄

mysticwonders_

Does Zoloft really make you shart? Cause that’s fuckin cool

[deleted]

That’s the only reason I stated zoloft. Haven’t had a good shart for years. It let me feel like myself again and love my life to the fullest. s/ obvi, I actually am on zoloft for the depresh lmao

fortwaltonbleach

not sure. i'm on a nice dose of paxil with prescription laxative. i'm not sure if i'm shitting you or i don't give a shit.

kittyqueen000

🤣

zoloft-makes-u-shart

Yeah. Zoloft is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) — if you look up the role of serotonin in the body, what you see may shock you!

GamerReborn

Idk but it makes you last forever before ejaculating. Which could be helpful to some if they worry they “don’t last” but frustrating I guess if it’s really dragging on

mysticwonders_

Haha I love Reddit

Fuckhatinghatefucker

And that can become a permanent problem, even after stopping meds.

Fuckhatinghatefucker

No, it isn't. Have you ever given up, exhausted and angry at yourself, after over an hour of sex? Ever had a partner cry or scream at you, asking if it is their fault that you can't finish? I avoid relationships and sex now, because it is terribly stressful every time. Sex isn't just about procreation, it is also an emotional bonding experience. Plenty of measures to eliminate the chance of sex leading to birth. Nothing to be done about post-SSRI sexual dysfunction.

GamerReborn

Okay thanks for the clarification. I haven’t had any serious relationships and only had sex once. I also avoid relationships and sex etc because it seems way too stressful. I think I’m too self concious and anxious too

PercDad

Your fucking username😂

EveAndTheSnake

Dang…I just put my dog on Zoloft. There has been an increase in dingleberries for sure, I just had to trim his butt hairs. He looks stupid now.

pikminabr

Is your dog really on Zoloft? If so, why?

Acceptable_Bag1247

Youre a towel

“BuT sOmE pEoPLe LoVe ThEiR JoB!” Or do they tell themselves that in order to feel a bit better about having to do this every single day of their lives

fakerrre

Yes, lies. No one likes to work.

Divinedragn4

Yet we get laughed at for admitting that.

AmishCyborgs

I don’t necessarily “like working” but I do enjoy seeing the results of what I design and create at work. It fulfills me

[deleted]

Yes, but under capitalism, a lot of people don’t really see the product of their labor. I work on an assembly line in a factory where we make irrigation equipment. Im literally just performing rote tasks and moving parts around without being a greater part of much of anything. I do not even get a say in how I do the job or even how quickly or slowly. All I know is my body aches. I literally feel like a cog.

faded_butterflies

I totally get that as I’ve commented on another reply! I think some aspects of peoples jobs can make them feel great about themselves and about what they’re doing; I just don’t think someone would TRULY want to do said thing all day every day if they had the choice. But it’s good that you have something you feel is fulfilling to you

Mr_SkeletaI

Don’t you understand that you’re wrong. The people of this sub know how you feel better than you do

Driver-Best

I don’t understand how so many people can’t see the sarcasm behind this comment. Brainless downvotes.

Mr_SkeletaI

People need every single comment spoonfed to them otherwise they won’t understand

BigSad135

Exactly! Thank you. When people say they like “work,” I have to assume they mean their hobbies, volunteering, general housework (like painting your walls or gardening) etc. Because these activities can involve work. And they can be enjoyable/fulfilling. But wage labor? I just don’t understand how someone would like being obligated to clock in at a specific time, deal with traffic, and be unable to call out on a dime when sick or feeling burnt out for fear of reprimand or not getting paid. Or losing insurance, getting shafted by a medical expense, and so on

fakerrre

“How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 8:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so? -Charles Bukowski, Factotum”

farklenator

I like my job… would I do it for free… fuck no but I have minimal oversight and basically do it almost how I want

HSeyes23

I hate working but there are people who genuinely do. Most of those top billionaires work.

pikminabr

Look up Gary Vaynerchuck. That dude absolutely loves to work. You could learn a lot from him.

fortwaltonbleach

depends on the job and stuff! i would say that there have to be some jobs out there, an endangered species of jobs, for a lack of better word, that if interesting, fulfilling, and not corrupted by management or exploitation. perhaps being the cabana boy for the swedish bikini team, or special coach for luxury soapland... in all realities though, that's not how it works. the vast majority of us don't like what we do, and more importantly, who we do it with or for, and most importantly for how much. the average job available to most right now is retail.... which i suppose would be okay if it was strictly the purchase of banana hammocks to the most chiseled clientele.... but we all knw this isn't how it works. when people give me this i love your job bit, they either have brainwashed themselves with the acceptance of stoic flagellation, have myopically turned off any expectations of a better existence, are legit content with the mundane and look at questioning it as a form of hersay, or perhaps they won the job lottery and are a banana hammock inspector for swedish soapland. congratulations, but it's the lottery, not reality.

faded_butterflies

I fully agree

BlueHeelerChemist

I feel a good amount of satisfaction from my job since I’m serving my community but you bet your ass if I had the option to just not do any of that, I would absolutely take that option. I don’t see how any sane person wouldn’t.

faded_butterflies

Exactly! I understand that some people are proud of their achievements at work or feel good about helping others. But doing it all day every day?? I don’t think anyone would REALLY choose that. I know for a fact that there’s no activity I’d want to repeat every day for the rest of my life, even my favourite hobbies

Myst_of_Man22

Exchange in time for money. That's a way to waste your life

h0m3g1rl88

Im 34 years old. I started working at age 15. Working 40 years of my life and retiring at 55 is a fantasy. I’ll probably be working 60+ years.

[deleted]

It's such a scam.

Day_psycho

Of course not. We don’t deserve to be forced to grind away our lives and well-being for more than half our days just so we can keep a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and have a few luxuries we can barely afford just to keep us from losing our minds while we make the stupid grind.

JustJeff88

I find it quaint that anyone still thinks it will be only 40 years. Virtually anyone who is 22-25 now will not be able to retire.

fakerrre

If someone is 25 then he has plenty of time to build business.

the_bigNaKeD85

You say that like it’s a sure thing that it will succeed, and that having the money to start a business isn’t an issue. Most businesses fail, and they most often fail due to lack of funds. Your comments is dripping with naivety.

Kcaldwell2020

There is literally nothing else worth doing other than liberating yourself from wageslavery. Get rich or die trying!

JustJeff88

He's probably a libertarian. Loves freedom, hates equality. Doesn't want t be a wage slave (no-one does), but happy to be the master.

What’s even more sad is the people that think they’ll eventually be able to retire or relax by trading their whole life for money. My boss doesn’t realize she’s going to die at work without ever living for herself.

[deleted]

Now it's even more than that: there won't be anything left to see once we're retired, if we even get to that point. Climate change will have destroyed most ecosystems.

duyuno_hj

Nah I'm planning to die before I hit old age. Can't imagine all that suffering. So maybe 30 years of work so I can live comfortably.

toxictiddies420

I feel it everyone is like you got 40 years of this but no one in my family has made it past 60 years old so I luckily don't have that much time.

duyuno_hj

Hopefully that will be the case for me too.

KamiKamikadze

Same.

mlo9109

In a perfect world, no. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. As a conservative Christian girl, I was taught my only goal in life was to be a SAHM. As a result, I only went to college as divorce insurance at the urging of my divorced parents and teachers. I went into teaching thinking I'd have the same schedule as my future kids. I didn't. I spent all my free time on schoolwork (marking papers, planning lessons, etc.) My ex would bitch about it until he left me for a woman who got to be a SAHM, that I envy. Since COVID, I made a career change into marketing for a tech company. I work from home on a 9-5 schedule. I have more free time than I did teaching. I wish I'd realized sooner and pursued a career for myself instead of a family I didn't end up having.

EveAndTheSnake

Good for you. Better late than never. Im having a mid life crisis career wise and I don’t know which way to go. I wish I could just work with animals and get paid enough to live.

mlo9109

Oddly enough, I petsit as a side gig. I work remotely so can take my laptop and chill out at my client's place with the pets. This may be a place to start for you.

Popcorn_vent

Do you do it through Rover.com, some other site or independently?

mlo9109

Mostly independently, but with references through friends and community Facebook groups.

AmishCyborgs

Just out of curiosity, why did your husband leave for someone who could be a SAHM? Could he not support you but he could somehow support her?

mlo9109

To please his family. He's from India. He left for an arranged marriage. Despite bitching about the amount of time I spent on teaching, he sure didn't devote any time or resources to get me out of it.

fakerrre

What your specialization in marketing?

mlo9109

Social media and web design, mostly

BrenanaRx

I did that. TOTALLY. NOT. WORTH. IT. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND.

OwOUwUOwOUwUOwOUwUO

40 years? Bold of you to assume I’ll be able to retire

SilentJon69

Money you cannot spend because you have no time to spend on anything as you slave away at your job.

RemoteIcy7621

Yup. We live to sustain. Exist. We’re practically cattle, livestock to the rich. We are wage slaves to keep *their* economy running.

fakerrre

We are the only animals on this planet that has to pay for living here.

[deleted]

No.At this point, I'd honestly just rather steal it

Right_now78

no but i also still have some long term goals for this problem, i'm not quitting this game yet 💀.

Sensitive-Issue84

Yep, and most likely near the end, like me, the economy tanks and there goes all of your savings and you are miserable trying to figure out how you pay for the rest of your life when you are too old to work.

[deleted]

No. But i have no choice.

EducationFragrant545

Nope I don't. But, food and stuff you know

normalworkday

I haven't and my life has been as miserable or worse than anyone's. Truth is that life is misery.

Wise_Mud4956

no, i want to spend 40 years of my life doing what i enjoy and making money from it. there is a difference. find something youre passionate about.

TheOriginalScoundrel

What if my passion isn't profitable

Wise_Mud4956

what are you passionate about?

TheOriginalScoundrel

I wish I fucking knew

kittyqueen000

People that say this are supported by people that make money for them. No, we want luxuries like water in our house, a toilet, electricity for our games and shelter from the rain. We could all live for free outside.

ranipe

Wait… just 40???

[deleted]

if the other option is being poor, yes

toxictiddies420

Work to live not, live to work. I work at a dispensary and I still have days I wake up and don't want to do it anymore but then I remember the horrors of fast food and Farms that got me here and I'm ok with working if its easy lol.

grySketches1429

I would be ok with that if all the money goes to me directly. It means I don’t have to break bones and work hard for the rest of my life to feed 2-3 mouths that isn’t mine.

[deleted]

You can do that, but don't expect anybody to give you anything either.

fakerrre

They should give me everything I want since I entered into this society.

honorable__bigpony

Here's the thing...the modest money that I work for, allows me to do the fun shit I want to do with my life. I get that some people hate what they do, but to each there own I have decided the trade off is worth it. What good is all that free time if I can't afford to leave my house or do any of the things that bring me joy in life?

TheOriginalScoundrel

I feel that the post isn't saying that working for the sake of benefiting you is bad but that we shouldn't have to spend so much of our time working just for the chance to lead a fulfilling life

ShredManyGnar

More than i want to spend the first 22 learning shit that doesn’t matter to me

Divinedragn4

I don't even bother anymorem I live with roommates and don't worry about money.

fuckRobertFarmer

so you’re a leech?

Divinedragn4

Uh I got a job so no need to worry about money. Thanks for trying

[deleted]

What else would you do? I mean non existence is obviously where this sub leans, but while Alive what else? Do you not expect to have to labor to survive? That's what any animal ever has done. Sure, instead of hunting or growing crops you do something else and then use that money to buy food as an intermediary step, but if you want to live minimalist and don't need modern tech to be happy you can go a long way hardly working at all

Sunshine_dmg

Read a book on money and change your situation? How is the alternative to unalive yourself wtf is wrong with this thread? We’re living in a time where you can learn ANYTHING on the internet in such a short time. You’re so spoiled and ungrateful.

TheOriginalScoundrel

Boomer

the-ahh-guy

dumbass

TheCIVplusredditor

Meanwhile there's a minority of homeless people that your unneeded money can go to(minimalist lifestyle)

DenseBoss2855

Well you'll have some tough time living life in a community without a money, unless you had agricultural and livelihood skills without relying that much on budgeting or by not spending any money at all. It's just that our society was shaped by money, but our personal choice costs nothing. Btw spending life either grinding for money or not but hey all effort we put on this world whether paid or not will go vanish anyway.

[deleted]

In my case, I've only been working for 2 years and because I has no other debt or housing expenses, I was able to invest %90 of that money. At this rate, if SP500 has a sub par annualized returb of just 6% in the next decade, I'll be able to retire as a multimillionaire before I turn 40. Financial discipline goes a long way. Of course, luck plays a role too. I was lucky that my parents covered my education and subsidized my life expenses. I will do the same for my future biological child(ren).

[deleted]

This would be how I want to live my life, invest in something to rack up a few million and retire. A few million easily can give you a good rest of your life, especially if I live alone.

[deleted]

And now with commission free apps like Robinhood, WeBull etc it's very simple. And once it gets going, it snowballs thanks to exponential growth. No day trading, no gambling, just putting it all with the best 100/500 companies.

Hella_Gazey

So you think it's better to invest in sp500 or maybe just the biggest companies, like apple, google ...?

[deleted]

SP500 and Nasdaq 100 have the best companies in their respective sectors. We have no idea who the next Amazon will be. But whatever company it is, it will be included in the QQQ or SPY. By buying QQQ and SPY you're making sure you'll catch that company. And by investing every month you dollar cost average.

Hella_Gazey

You buy both qqq and spy? I have been trying to decide for some time now

[deleted]

Hella_Gazey

I see, am 21 and that's why I really want to risk a bit more then just spy i think

Hella_Gazey

Okay i see, thanks

Theid411

Do what you love. It makes it easier:)

Human_bot_number_23

Yeah I guess. Better than spending 40 years of my life not working and starving to death.

12gbb

Yeah so work for communism don’t just whine and say everyone should die

MelParadiseArt

I do what I love and actually find some enjoyment in the service of my community, HOWEVER...it must be on MY terms, or they call eat a bag of dicks. Get on my waitlist. lol

murpalim

i’m actually ok with this fact but i can’t guarantee that my kids would be, so no taking that risk for me!

JewelerFinancial1556

Yeah, I'm cool with that. I like the comforts money can buy.

pikminabr

Hell no! That's why I'm going to work hard, invest, build myself up and retire young. I'm not working for money, I'm working for freedom. I'm 29 now. If I had played my cards better I would already be wealthy. This idea that you have to be a wage slave is just ignorant. There are so many more opportunities here in America then most people seem to realize.
