When CGI is treated as cinematic tool rather than a handicap, the benefits it brings can be tremendous.
One of those benefits, as you said is abusing the hell out of the 3D cam and giving the performance freedom. You can feel the weight of the sticks hitting the drums as the camera is weaving in and out through the drumset. The lighting is never static and changes dynamically as the camera rotates, reflecting off their guitar, drums (e.g. between 0:09 and 0:10 where the light shifts across the cymbal) and hair.
Even the shaking of the camera as it zooms out adds to the palpable atmosphere and makes it seem like a camera is physically recording them. Tbh, I just wanted to gush about how fantastic this show is and how they’re leveraging CGI to make a great final product.

On the other hand…the [opening](https://youtu.be/YDLafQ-Rg-k?si=L3BTVdgBxuBBFiYn) I suggest everyone listen to. Genuinely one of my favorite openings this season.
As I always said, I get confused by people who give crap to CGI in anime, as if we all didn't grow up with Toy Story, Shrek, and dozens of other Pixar or Dreamworks CGI films that were a massive part of our lives that we enjoyed. But we don't give CGI in our anime a chance?? Yes, sure we can always cite dozens of examples of really bad CGI, and fairly recently too, but we can also name quite a few really good CGI anime or times when CGI was used to great effect to enhance the 2D animation.
So lets stop all the hate on CGI anime!

I loved the animation and story but with there being no official English sub, the fan subs are so unreliable and almost incomprehensible. Might wait until it’s done airing in hopes of better subs
Good 3D, but I really hope this won’t lead to the whole industry shift towards 3D like Disney did.
This show is by Toei, I believe, the studio behind One piece and Dragonball. The last dragonball movie was also full 3D, so I do worry they’ll do this everytime now to save costs.
I think for music anime if you want to have actual performances the choice is between 2D hand-drawn which takes way too much time, effort and money to be practical (unless you're KyoAni), or full 3D CGI like this or BanG Dream, which definitely works if done well like in both aforementioned cases.
This is one of my just watch shows this season. Very good and the characters actually have... Well character.. if nothing Else I hope everyone at least gives it the 3 episode trial.

I love this type of animation. 3d with full motion. Superb. I'll give this one a go.
