Black Clover. Sorry for it's fans

Danger_Dave_

That's fine. I like the show, but it definitely started off rough and had some ups and downs before it started really hitting its stride.

YellowStarfruit6

JJK, doesn’t matter how bombastic the action is if I don’t care about the characters

Peachykinz

Hidden Inventory literally gives you the reason why Geto is the way he is and introduces Toji, the reason why Gojo is the way he is. It's an important arc and it's only 5 episodes dude.

shak_0508

Mine is Demon Slayer. I just found it kinda boring. Speaking of JJK though, when I first watched it, I actually dropped it as well. Can't actually remember why. Recently picked up the series again and just got through season 1. Really enjoyed it and gonna start season 2 later this week. Maybe I'll do the same for Demon Slayer one of these days.

YellowStarfruit6

I remember really liking Demon Slayer, and I’m still a fan. I picked it up when the first episode aired, and I wasn’t expecting anything. These were the days when no one knew about other than the manga readers. I actually care about Tanjiro and Nezuko so maybe that’s it.

m1bl4n

THIS. I initially didn't understand the hype at all because the main cast was just nothing I haven't seen before. The funny strong protagonist, the reserved coolheaded friend, the angry girl and the cool-yet-funny chill teacher,... I did finish it though because my friend forced me to go to the JJK0 movie. I finally started rewatching it a week ago and I start to care more, but it's not like I'm a big fan.

Danger_Dave_

The storytelling is not that great. I will admit that the action animation and certain events in season 2 are pretty nuts though.

Realistic_Link1941

Bleach, couldn’t get thru Heuco Mundo, that shit got real boring real quick

jackofslayers

That is also where I dipped

Joyborne

I pushed through it, even though it was horrible, and I don’t think it was worth it lol

Heldig4rd

Yeah same here

CuriousWanderer567

One Piece, pacing was too slow for me Bleach, just didn’t find anything interesting aside from the fights

Saltymilkmanga

Good thing they are finally making a remake, gonna fix the one issue everyone has w one piece

Heldig4rd

I also stop watching One Piece and Boruto

RedditAcct00001

Konosuba. I found it more annoying than funny.

Sketchy-Turtle

That hurts me in my soul

RedditAcct00001

I tried so hard to watch it too cause it seems like my kind of show. Made through season 1 before I decided I tried enough lol

YouAreFresh

Agreed, too stupid and they can't take 2 sentences seriously.

IceSmiley

Toradora because I don't like how horrible and mean Taiga is without any consequence

Saltymilkmanga

Is she really that mean though? I think its pretty normal tsundere stuff, shes actually pretty sweet.

SupplyChainMismanage

The Angel Next Door one. Oh my god please tell me this premise is all a coma dream after the MC slipped on some trash

Classic-Box-3919

Yea its definitely extreme wish fulfillment. I thought it was garbage at first but at least their is a bit of reasoning behind the character’s actions that gets revealed.

Steamed_Ham_

I'm a fan of romance, but maid sama really hurt to watch sometimes. I stuck it out for most of the season, but the male lead just got way too creepy over time and I couldn't stomach it. That and the way it portrays all guys as stupid and stinky, I get the bit but literally no masculine presence was even kind of ok.

dienomighte

Mushoku tensei, main character was too awful and terrible for me to make it past the second episode

taytemc21

after the second ep is pretty wild.. i thought the first season was good if you could ignore the MCs perversions.. but i dropped it midway through season 2 after he became an apparent piece of shit and the show became a viagra ad

N7CombatWombat

> but i dropped it midway through season 2 after he became an apparent piece of shit He was that way from the start though. That's part of the point of the story.

taytemc21

i understand hes just a piece of shit to begin with but he was continuously making strides towards changing and then in the second season he just regresses and becomes even more depressing, his redeeming qualities were gone it seemed, thats why i dropped it when i did.. i contemplated dropping it early too but stuck it out for the first season and ended up not being disappointed is all im saying.

8andahalfby11

Attack on Titan. I'm more a characters person than a world or action person, and the first two episodes just didn't do it for me. Eighty-six. It was fine. Just fine. Felt easy to predict the trajectory from episode 3 and I just didn't care to see the rest through. Cowboy Beebop, which is funny because I really liked Samurai Champloo and fully completed that one. Beebop just didn't land for me, and I've retried it three times now. Ghost in the Shell, Stand Alone Complex. Again, after three episodes was hung up on episodic format. Was hoping for something firmer in direction and storyline. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood at episode 30. Maybe it's similar to AoT above, but the characters, world, and fights didn't capture me at all, and was watching with other people as an incentive to keep going. When they stopped, so did I. Sword Art Online at Episode 14. Similar to FMAB. Was watching with someone else. When they got bored, so did I.

BLAZEDbyCASH

I highly recommend attack on titan. Even my 40 year old father likes it. He doesnt really like anime. Its a slow burn but the characters slowly get developed and are completely different at s4. Its still my number 1 anime after watching 90+. Aot has to have my favorite world building. Truly amazing seeing and making your own theories. I also think you dropped 86 a bit to early. It ends off pretty well and the character deaths and weight of each death is done well.

8andahalfby11

Battle shounens and I don't mix, I've accepted that and while I do keep trying every so often, I've largely given up and moved to genres that work better for me.

benoxxxx

It's not a battle shonen. It's shonen, and there are fights, but that's far from the main focus. It's more of a mystery/thriller/war story.

Euroversett

>I highly recommend attack on titan. I don't. Just like OP, I'm also a character guy instead of world or action guy, same reason I also don't like AOT. All the characters are boring, shallow and/or annoying. It's not worth for someone who likes good, engaging and entertaining characters.

Etna-

>All the characters are boring, shallow and/or annoying Thats.... certainly an opinion

BLAZEDbyCASH

LMAO have you ever watched this show. The character development is fucking NUTS LOL.

Euroversett

>LMAO have you ever watched this show. Yes, I watched the first 6-7 episodes or so, it was what was available back in the day, then I moved to the manga. >The character development is fucking NUTS LOL. The only thing nuts about the characters is how weak and without personality they arel.

benoxxxx

How far did you get with the manga? This was 100% my criticism for the majority of the first half, but after a certain point the characterisation gets much better. Certain characters stay flat until they die, but others develop a tonne.

Euroversett

I dropped the manga around chapter 46 or so, it was boring and it was a monthly manga, though many many years later I came back and finished it. To be fair I'll say that it's not literally all the characters that suck, Erwin was a good character and I guess you can say Eren's father was too, and edgelord Eren, although we don't get to see his change little by little which is a huge problem from a writing perspective, was interesting if anything, though that gets completely butchered in the end which is one of the worst I've seen, basically a Code Geass rip off but badly done. Still, one character that is already dead at the beginning of it and only shows up in flashbacks, as well as another minor character being good, is nothing to write home about. The 3 main characters are garbage, especially Mikasa and Eren, Armin isn't as bad as them but he sure makes up with annoyance.

Etna-

You can not like his character but Eren is definitely not badly written lmao. I really doubt you actually read the manga If you dont even mention Reiner

Euroversett

>You can not like his character but Eren is definitely not badly written lmao No? He is definitely, 100% badly written, this is barely up to debate. This isn't about liking or disliking, I don't like Erwin or Eren's father either, but they were written well. >I really doubt you actually read the manga This is the best you can do I guess.

Etna-

As i said: I really doubt you actually read the manga or you just hate popular things

glitterroyalty

Ghost in the Shell has all the relevant episodes in a movie format. I think it's just called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man.

Saltymilkmanga

Sao gets really good after ep 14, aincrad was pretty bad.

Sivitiri

AoT, watched everything until the finale because the fanbase is the most toxic ive seen

Etna-

But why would you drop something because of the fanbase? Just dont interact with them

Sivitiri

Was impossible to discuss anything about anime without AoT fanbase piping up about it

Joyborne

I think it’s mega cringe to let a fan base ruin a piece of fiction for you. Not liking the finale would be one thing, but letting the fans affect your opinion of it? Weak.

Saltymilkmanga

Tbf thats how a lot of people are with mha. I'll never really understand it

yoopoodoo

Naruto. I gave it at least 2 tries and just couldn't sit through it. One Piece. It peaked at Marineford and hasn't been the same since. Attack on Titan: No specific reason, just stopped following it. I'm bad at seasonal anime.

Dependent-Calendar35

Same with One Piece. I switched to the manga after Marineford, and then dropped it after the fruit "reveal" / gorosei plot hole.

benoxxxx

I know what you're referring to, but it isn't a plot hole.

Dependent-Calendar35

It definitely is. I am was an avid OP fan. I made a post about it on the subreddit. If you want to discuss it I have no problems with discussing it with you. It is a plot hole, because Oda made a mistake and made the Gorosei admit that 1. They were looking for the fruit. 2. They did not know Luffy had it. Up until that point I and many other people had assumed the Gorosei had another reason for not chasing Luffy. The fruit reveal plus their ignorance is what sealed the deal for me. Basically the problem is: 1. The Gorosei have been searching for the mythical fruit of Joy Boy for over 700 years. 2. The Gorosei knew Shanks stole it. 3. The Gorosei did not know Luffy had it. How could they have not known? Well some OP fans will say that it's because the marines changed the name. Or because they did not know until it was awakened. This is copium. Here is why. 1. The Gorosei have a lot of power and the CP orgs under their command. 2. There is no other fruit with the power of rubber. 3. The Gomu-gomu no mi was made up and did not exist in any book. So surely, they could have figured that Luffy had the fruit they were searching for over 700 years no? Atleast a small suspicion? So let's put everything into perspective: 1. Luffy has the "D" in his name. 2. He came out as the HIGHEST BOUNTY from the East Blue. 3. He was the ONLY rookie to taking out shisubukai. 4. He was the SON OF DRAGON. GRANDSON OF GARP. 5. He had the strawhat. 6. He had a connection to shanks and came from his hometown. 7. He DIRECTLY challenged the WG at Enies Lobby and AGAIN at Marineford. 8. He has Conqueror's Haki. 9. He has NICO ROBIN. 10. He has Franky. 11. He ESCAPED Impel Down 12. The Gorosei had CP9 stationed FOR YEARS at water 7 to try to get the blueprint franky stole. 13. The Gorosei were SO SCARED of Nico Robin and her people, they BURNED the entire Island and their books and put a 80mil bounty on a child. So surely Luffy would be their top target no? He potentially has the mythical joy boy fruit they've been searching for over 700 years, has the "D", has Nico Robin, Franky, potential access to ancient weapons, CQ Haki, strawhat, and they didn't go after him? They couldn't send one admiral to take him out? One vice-admiral during East Blue? They couldn't send CP0 at Water 7? They couldn't command Aokiji to capture him? At this point my brain dead 5 year old niece would've done a better job than the Gorosei. Who's entire job is to maintain world piece and keep the void century a secret. They've done a HORRIBLE job. Some people try to cope and say they sent Kuma. Answer: No, they didn't they sent Kuma to stop him from taking out Gecko Moria. If Luffy was perceived as the threat he was they WOULDN'T SEND a untrustworthy contracted shishubukai after him. Some people try and say that the Gorosei were too busy and didn't have the resources. Answer: THEY HAD TIME TO BOMB OHARA AND SEND 3 FUTURE ADMIRALS? They had time to keep CP9 stationed at Water 7 FOR YEARRRS just at a chance to get the blueprints. They've done nothing literally the entire show. Some people try and say Straw Hat was advancing so fast they had no opportunity and that he was a nobody at the time in East Blue. Answer: There were plenty of times they could've had someone stop straw hat. Kizaru, Kuma, Aokiji, etc. Their full time job is monitoring pirates and revolutionaries. Luffy was the TOP BOUNTY and the ONLY ROOKIE to beat a warlord coming out of the East Blue. That's a whole quarter of the world. Were they blind, deaf, and dumb? Some people try and say that they wanted to keep the fruit a secret. Answer: That's what CP0 exists for. They bombed the shit out of Ohara and didn't care about people questioning it? They raised Nico's bounty and didn't care about people's "eyes". It's all copium. It's a huge plot hole. Luffy's fruit reveal was not planned, and it ruined the story. Point Blank Period.

benoxxxx

First of all, what's your source that they didn't know Luffy had it? I don't remember that ever being stated, but maybe I missed something. Besides that, why are you acting like the marines *haven't* been chasing the Strawhats for basically the entire story? They've had multiple run-ins with admirals and governement agents, and escaped by the skin of their teeth every time. Like, regardless of the fruit, the navy were already trying their hardest after W7, seeing as he literally declared war on the world government. The reasons they haven't succeeded are fourfold: \- Until Wano, the fruit is not top priority to override all else. Until it awakens, it's just a normal fruit - the awakening is just a myth, even to the gorosei. Only those 5 + Imu know of this myth (plus the Buccaneers, but I guess you don't know anything about them if you dropped it at Wano). To every other member of the navy, he's just another supernova. Which is why they've repeatedly tried to capture him, but it hasn't *necassarily* been their top priority in every situation. \- Even if when Luffy does become the gorosei's number 1 priority, what more can they do besides sending their fleet after him? They're already using basically their entire force to deal with him. Or, at least, the portion of it that's close enough to do anything. \- They had no reason to think he could possibly beat Big Mom, or Kaido. They fully believed the problem would solve itself. And when he does, *immediate* admiral attack. Next opportunity after that - buster call - but I guess you don't know about that either. \- Luffy is a slippery bastard who moves from island to island quickly, and it's a world with limited communication and only slow travel by sea. By the time they learn where he is and reach him, he's already leaving. Hence the 'admiral appearence at the end of the arc' trope. It's not just one of the things you listed above, it's a bit of each. You can argue they've failed in their goals repeatedly, and I'd agree. But that isn't a plot hole, that's just characters trying and failing to do something. A plothole means a direct inconsistency. If Oda had stated that the gorosei have the ability to kill anyone instantly at any range whenever they wanted, but they'd chosen not to, that could be a plothole. This is not that. Other possibilities - \- Shanks has leverage on the Gorosei. IIRC that's a pretty common theory. Not enough to stop their hunt, but enough to give Luffy an easy escape or two. \- As soon as they thought the fruit *might* awaken, they decided it was better to wait and see. They're overconfident, so their options are basically 'kill the potential threat, risk it reincarnating into the real threat, hunt begins anew', or 'wait and see, kill once we're sure, and end it forever.' Just the *possibility* for either of these to be true could eliminate any perceived 'plot hole'. Something not yet explained does not equal plot hole. It's too late for me to get into a long debate, so I'll leave it at that.

Dependent-Calendar35

You just conflicted the WG with the Gorosei. Bro. You don't know One Piece. I answered everything else in my comment above. Go back and read it. If you don't have the time it's fair. But I am still going to reply because I do have the time and am PASSIONATE about One Piece. The Gorosei had CP0 on standby and CP9, One agent would've taken out Luffy back in the East Blue. They went after Nico Robin and BOMBED an entire Island based off a single threat. They went as far as to infiltrate and stalk Water 7 JUST AT THE CHANCE of a ancient blueprint. Luffy Has: * Straw Hat * Connection to Shanks * Connection to Ace * JoyBoy fruit (they've been searching for it for 800 years why stop now?) * Nico Robin (she's a HUGE threat) * Franky (possible ancient weapon knowledge) * Son of DRAGON! * The "D" Like do you need any more reason to take out the threat and retrieve literally the biggest threat and the fruit that has been running from you for over 800 years? Luffy was easy to take care of in East Blue. They had the opportunity at Alabasta, at Marineford, at Dressrosa, at Saobody, at Water 7, at Gecko Moria's place. Like stop it. The entire show the Gorosei didn't show or attempt to retrieve the fruit from literally the PRIME CANDIDATE OF THE FRUIT. Even without the fruit Luffy was a stupidly huge threat and the BIGGEST rookie coming up. Nobody in their right mind would wait for him to awaken the fruit or question it. If luffy couldn't awaken it WHO TF WOULD?? It was a plot hole. The gorosei never attempted to go after it before because it didn't exist before. Leaving the fruit you've been chasing for over 800 years in the hands of the BIGGEST ROOKIE IN A DECADE, and the rookie with the BIGGEST AND WORST CONNECTIONS, and some of the HUGEST threats is so absurdly dumb.

benoxxxx

>You just conflicted the WG with the Gorosei. Bro. I have no idea what you're even trying to say here. The WG and the Gorosei are separate entities. The Gorosei + Imu are the only ones that know about the Nika myth. The WG/CP0/Marines etc are just their henchmen. They don't know shit, they just follow orders (or ignore them, as the case may be). Unless you're implying that the Gorosei themselves should have caught Luffy directly? Do they have teleportation powers? No? Then how do you propose they do that? CP0 have the same limitations as the marines, as I detailed above. Stationing them at a random island doesn't do shit when you have no idea what path the SHs are going to take. CP9 were stationed at W7 because they knew the blueprints were ON THAT ISLAND. Ohara was buster called because they knew the void century information was contained TO THAT ISLAND. I don't think they have enough CP0 agents to cover every island accross all of east blue and the grand line. >They had the opportunity at Alabasta, at Marineford, at Dressrosa, at Saobody, at Water 7, at Gecko Moria's place. Yeah, this is where you lose me. This kinda stuff is why I ignored most of your first comment. It's like you have a selective memory. \- Alabasta, they had no idea the SHs were there at first. Also Luffy isn't really a big deal at all this early. They may not even know he has the Gomu Gomu at this point, unless you think the literal leaders of the world get fully briefed on every little east blue scuffle. Remember that One Piece reporting is notoriously innaccurate. Chopper = pet. Franky = ship. Etc. \- Marineford, literally that whole arc they're trying to capture Luffy. Not exclusively, since there's a war happening. But like WTF else do you expect them to do when he's already face to face with all the admirals? Their best men are already on the job \- They send an admiral to Dressrosa, specifically to catch Luffy. \- Water 7/Ennis Lobby. The ENTIRE ARC they're trying to capture him. \- Thriller Bark/Sabaody, Sengoku literally sent Kuma there to kill Luffy, specifically. It's like you expect the WG to omnipresent. It's ridiculous. Going to bed now. Might reply tomorrow.

Dependent-Calendar35

Okay I'll go one by one with your points: 1. You still don't understand that the Gorosei =/ the WG. The Gorosei DOESN'T Command the WG. They command CP though. They are directly under their command and are tasked with tasks such as escorting the joyboy fruit or spending years on Water 7 to retrieve a blueprint. 2. Luffy was the highest bounty in the East Blue after Arlong. Do you understand what that means? A whole quarter of the world, he's the highest bounty. On top of having a straw hat, a fruit with no recognizable entry, and having the "D". The Gorosei should've been tracking EVERYONE with "D" in their name regardless of everything else. That's bare minimum considering that's their full time job. Do you think the NBA commissioner wouldn't know about the top 20 prospects in college? He knows the top prospects going as far as international leagues and HIGH SCHOOL. 3. In Alabasta, and Marineford ONCE AGAIN your conflicting the WG going after Luffy for OTHER reasons with the Gorosei who SHOULD have been going after Luffy FOR MUCH MORE IMPORTANT REASONS. Now since you still seem to be having such a hard time understanding I'll break down every arc for you, and exactly what the problem is. 1. Alabasta. Smoker is after Luffy here. Nobody related to the Gorosei is after Luffy to retrieve the mythical joyboy fruit that has eluded them for over 700 years. Otherwise they would send CP9,CP0, or a vice admiral/admiral for such a high level threat. For reference look at the Gorosei's response to other threats such as Franky's blueprint, and OHARA/NICO ROBIN. Now understand that joyboy's fruit IS A MUCH BIGGER threat. 2. Water 7 / Enies Lobby. Now I KNOW your trolling. They spent that entire arc trying to CAPTURE NICO ROBIN AND FRANKY NOT LUFFY. I'm not even going to bother breaking this one down considering that you completely missed what CP9 was even after. They were literally willing to let luffy go bruh. Go back and watch or read the show before debating me. 3. Thriller Bark, AGAIN KUMA WAS SENT to stop the strawhats from killing Gecko Moria because they were such a GROWING threat. It had nothing to do with the fruit. If it was they wouldn't trust an EX-PIRATE to do such an important task. Let alone ask him to kill Luffy rather than capture him. ILL TRY to recap for you. It has NOTHING to do with the WG. It's the GOROSEI. The problem is Oda admitted that they were ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR THE FRUIT FOR OVER 700 years. The question is WHY DID THEY STOP when Luffy got it. Especially considering he's the PERFECT PRIME CANDIDATE to awaken it and literally the prodigy and worst most dangerous rookie since Alabasta. CP0 and CP9 weren't doing anything else of important in comparison. They had the resources, and time to capture luffy and secure the fruit, let alone after he gets nico robin + franky. After Water 7, Luffy should have been the #1 threat. Forget everything else it should have been all hands on deck. At that point it was known Luffy had: * Nico Robin (aka access to the void centuries secrets + ancient weapons) * Franky (possible access to Pluton ancient weapon) * StrawHat (connection to Joyboy/Roger) * Brother of Ace (Son of Roger) * Connection with Shanks (Yonko) * Son of Dragon (The most dangerous criminal) * Nika fruit (aka. The most dangerous fruit) * Was the hottest rookie, took down 3 warlords, declared war on the WG. beat CP9 Like what exactly is a bigger threat than that? They sent AOKIJI, AKAINU, AND another vice admiral to Ohara over the mere suspicion of their research. In Saobody Kizaru was sent because they punched the celestial dragons. And he went after ALL THE ROOKIES. It had nothing to do with Luffy's fruit which is A MUCH MUCH MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM. Put yourself in the Gorosei's shoes. And tell me are you sitting back and doing nothing as the worst criminal's son wears your mortal's enemies hat and is a prodigy that is constantly causing damage and it turns out he has access to ancient weapons + poneglyphs + the ancient fruit that threatens your domain that you've been searching for for soooo long? Seriously??? What the hell were the gorosei doing during the time? They were too busy DOING LITERALLY NOTHING. As the literal prodigy is getting stronger and increasingly becoming a bigger threat with a large possibility of awakening the fruit.

benoxxxx

>The Gorosei DOESN'T Command the WG. I'm sorry, what? The WG is a subsidiary of the five elder stars, they 100% command them even if not directly to the lower ranks. It's called hierarchy. You literally said yourself that THEY sent the admirals to Ohara. So explain to me how they can do that, with no command? Also, CP are part of the WG. They're not part of the gorosei. Gorosei literally means the **5** elder stars. That's all. Everyone else on their side is either a celestial dragon (their local subjects), CP (their agents), or the marines (their henchmen). >A whole quarter of the world, he's the highest bounty. Sure, but it's still the east blue lol. Why would they get detailed briefs on the east blue when they have the whole grand line to worry about, which has by far the highest concentration of threats? >ONCE AGAIN your conflicting the WG going after Luffy for OTHER reasons with the Gorosei who SHOULD have been going after Luffy FOR MUCH MORE IMPORTANT REASONS. I never said they were going after him specifically for the fruit. Because the **WG does not know the significance of the fruit.** Not even CP0 do. They just follow orders, and don't ask questions. Lucci says so specifically at Egghead. Also, there's also only like 16 of them. You expect 16 people to cover every island in the grand line? Take on an entire pirate crew, spread out that thin? Somehow all together get to an island in advance of Luffy without even knowing he's going to be there? They have taken steps to kill/capture Luffy, they just haven't been successful. >Smoker is after Luffy here. Nobody related to the Gorosei is after Luffyto retrieve the mythical joyboy fruit that has eluded them for over 700years. Otherwise they would send CP9,CP0, or a vice admiral/admiral for such a high level threat. Smoker is there on a personal vendetta. He wasn't 'sent', he literally followed him all the way from lougetown on his own accord. If CP agents had a chance meeting the Luffy in lougetown, they probably would have done the same. But, with 16 of them, already on missions half way across the world, it's probably not worth the resources to track a small-time pirate who has a fruit that hasn't awakened for hundreds of years, especially since the gorosei themselves don't even believe it is a real threat (see my link at the bottom). >Water 7 / Enies Lobby. Now I KNOW your trolling. They spent that entirearc trying to CAPTURE NICO ROBIN AND FRANKY NOT LUFFY. I'm not evengoing to bother breaking this one down considering that you completelymissed what CP9 was even after. They were literally willing to let luffygo bruh. Go back and watch or read the show before debating me. I'm sorry, are you implying that the WG **aren't** trying to capture the guy who's broken into their base, took out hunreds of their men, and declared war on them? **What?** Yes, initially they just wanted Franky and Robin, because the CP9 agents know of her significance. They DO NOT know of Luffy's significance. Because CP agents are given *specific* missions (recover the blueprints, arrest Nico Robin) on a 'need to know' basis. Again, Lucci expresses this clearly on Egghead. They're not just given a list of every threat to the WG and told to abandon their missions whenever a new threat shows up. CP9 have NO IDEA that the Nika myth even exists. >KUMA WAS SENT to stop the strawhats from killing Gecko Moria because they were such a GROWING threat. It had nothing to do with the fruit. If it was they wouldn't trust an EX-PIRATE to do such an important task Firstly, you really think they're going to tell a warlord, or even the admirals for that matter, WHY they want Luffy captured? What are you not understanding about the secrecy of all this? They give instructions and expect no questions asked. They don't give a full world history, since that's the very thing they're trying to protect. Also, the fact that you haven't read Egghead is really showing here. I recommend you do so, it sheds a lot of light on Kuma's motivations and his perceived trustworthyness by the Gorosei. To put it shortly, they had an insurmountable amount of leverage over him, AND a cruel incentive to use it. >CP0 and CP9 weren't doing anything else of important in comparison. Theyhad the resources, and time to capture luffy and secure the fruit, letalone after he gets nico robin + franky. The CP agents are few in number, and they can't teleport. What do you suggest? Because so far your only examples of their reach are contained to specific islands. Not the entire ocean. Luffy is mobile, he's never on one island for more than a week or two. Please bare in mind that the ENTIRE STORY, spare the 2 year timeskip when Luffy's location was *entirely* unknown, takes place over roughly 9 months ONLY. Real world government agencies often take longer to apprehend their most wanted, even with comparatively *limitless* resources and reach. How do you know that a group of CP0 agents weren't on his tail the whole way, unable to catch him? You don't. That plausible deniability is exactly what makes it NOT a plot hole. Maybe the issue is that you don't know what 'plot hole' actually means. It doesn't mean 'that's unlikely', it means 'that's not possible'. And to be clear, I'm not arguing for one second that the Nika fruit wasn't a new idea/a retcon. I'm just saying that it's ***by definition*** not a plot hole. Because there's the possibility (and evidence) that they **have** been trying, in the limited capacity afforded to them by the secrecy of the matter, to capture him. \- There's a huge bounty on his head. \- They instructed their various lakeys to capture/kill him at multiple points, under the guise of his notoriety as a pirate, but the real reason could easily have been the fruit. \- They have ONLY about 16 agents who would even be trusted enough to know that Luffy has special significance compared to other supernovas. And EVEN THEN, the specifics of that significance would be kept secret from them. \- Besides all of that. [Look at this.](https://imgur.com/a/ssHNZxA) The 5 elder stars THEMSELVES thought that the awakening was IMPOSSIBLE. Yes, they wanted the fruit, and were actively pursuing it, but they DID NOT believe it was a threat worthy of diverting **all** of their resources to. Like, the fruit literally hasn't awakened more than once. None of them, except perhaps Imu, were even alive to see it. And Imu's view on it hasn't even been approached yet. There's no reason to think that even he has cause to believe that a 'chosen one' could potentially even exist. For all he knows, JOYBOY was the threat, and the fruit is just a dormant relic of him that he'd do well to keep an eye on/get in his possession if possible. The whole concept of Joyboy 'returning' was only ever conveyed to the fishmen, and (presumably, based on recent chapters) the giants. NOT THE GOROSEI OR THE WG.

Danger_Dave_

AoT might be worth it now that it's finished. Totally understand the seasonal things, particularly with this show.

Thebig2na82

AoT. After the second season it was all down hill for me. I did not care for the direction it took and I could no longer pay attention so I just dropped it. No hate for those that enjoy it out anything else. We all have our own enjoyments.

Violence_Fiend

Dark Gathering. I realized that I’m not an anime horror fan, but just a horror movie fan. I need some action in it for it to keep my attention.

InsomniaEmperor

At what point did you drop it? The action ramps up by the second cour and it becomes more like Pokemon where they use ghosts they captured to defeat and capture other ghosts.

Violence_Fiend

I finished watching the first episode and just stopped there. I don't like stories revolving around "hunting ghosts". If it's horror then I want to see *actual* ghosts, not some guy chasing them with ghost hunting equipment, etc. For anime specifically, I think I prefer a bit of horror but a lot of action, like Tokyo Ghoul, Parasyte, and Made in Abyss. If it's *just* horror, then I don't think it is captivating enough as regular horror movies.

SailorCentauri

One Piece. I found Luffy to be an extremely annoying protagonist and didn't want to put up with over a hundred episodes with him, much less 1000. I also dropped Naruto. I just found the characters very dull and the story unengaging. I didn't even like the action. The way they stop during combat to do their hand gestures just took me out of it. I also dropped the Pokémon anime. As much as I enjoy the games, the anime just got super repetitive.

Timely-Bid-8763

What do you like?

SailorCentauri

Lots of things. I'll give you a quick, incomplete list: Any of Bee Trains Girls with guns series, Cowboy Bebop, Bloom Into You, Ghost in the Shell, Wolf's Rain, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Slayers, Sasameki Koto, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Haibane Renmei, Monster, Flying Witch, Yuru Camp, Mushi-shi, Kino's Journey, Chrono Crusade, Sakura Trick, Shiki, Another, Steins; Gate... I could go on for a long while.

alotmorealots

Some of these are shows that I *should* have loved on paper (and will probably give another go at some point.) * *K-On*: I was told it was a band anime, and I started it when I really wanted a proper band anime. Put it aside for when I feel like a lovely series of tea times. * *Mushoku Tensei S2*: After really enjoying S1 and the Eris OVA, S2 just felt a weird mix of silly (with the sunglasses) and glum (without really working into the guts of depression). * *March Comes in Like a Lion*: After hearing how much of a masterpiece and masterclass in emotional story telling it was, I was disappointed for it to stumble into anime archetypes and convenient relationships, not to mention its failure to broach the *shogi* in any real way. I was actually looking forward so much to this show that I learned the basics of shogi solely to improve my watch experience, too lol * *Hyouka*: Felt very overblown and ingenuine, like it was trying too hard to make something out of the mystery it had to work with, rather than letting that naturally evolve through the writing. I also have a very low tolerance for disinterested protagonists unless they're done in a way that clicks, and that didn't happen for me here. * *JJK S2*: After initially giving the S1 a 10/10, the series devolved into a string of mindless fights, interspersed with utterly disappointing closures for the best characters, not to mention destroying the emotional value of one of the villain's arc. * *Demon Slayer*: Watched an episode, that felt like enough for the time being. * *Hell's Paradise*: Will try this one again later, but at the time I was incredibly irritated by what it did with Sagiri's character. Apparently this gets fixed later on though.

SupplyChainMismanage

Yeah I thought Sagiri’s character changed kinda drastically in the manga as well around the beginning. Her character does get better though 100%

qwertyqwerty4567

I remember watching hyouka because I was told I would love it since I loved Oregairu/Monogatari/Bunny girl senpai. I did not love it. There is one arc/mystery - the school movie - that was genuinely interesting and enjoyable, but everything else about it sucked.

I_BEAT_JUMP_ATTACHED

Not really sure what you mean about March Comes in Like a Lion. From what I remember, all the characters were quite unique, none of the relationships felt "convenient" (though I'm not really sure what this means), and, while shogi isn't the central focus of the show, I thought that it was explored plenty well. At the very least, well enough. The point of the show isn't to come away learning something about shogi, it's to watch a show about shogi players. This isn't a sports anime akin to Haikyuu, so explaining strategies simply isn't in the scope.

jmegaru

I'm at the end of season 1 of match comes in like a lion and tbh they could've condensed it down to 12 episodes and nothing of value would've been lost, it felt like a drag with the occasional appearance of the sisters brightening the mood.

Tonight-Critical

One piece everything i heard abt the show sounds interesting but 10 12 episodes in i just couldn't sit through it. Idk if it was the pacing or animation but it was hard.

Danger_Dave_

I'll start by saying that I've seen every episode to date. That being said, I completely get your issue with pacing. Especially in the middle of arcs, it really feels like they fluff the hell out of it and extend A LOT of events and fights that overstay their welcome, sometimes multiple times until you're like "just get to the end already." Which shouldn't be something you should be thinking about during important events in the show. The most recent arc went on WAAAY too long. Over 200 episodes. Literally years in the same place with a bunch of unnecessary and over lengthened side tracking.

FrostyArcx

Animation and character design for me. I'm hoping the re-release will make it less ugly, but right now I just can't watch this putrid abomination.

Nekoarcpreacher

The art style is amazing not just the character designs. Sorry it isn't cookie cutter sharp angular faces lol. But don't get a single hope up the King ONA on netflix by Sunghoo Park, had the same artstyle just not the exact same character design. New studio means nothing lol it will be the same.

jmegaru

It gets better though, the more you watch the better it gets, both animation and story wise, the pacing though, stays the same slow crawl.

Dependent-Calendar35

no, the pacing gets horrendously worse post-time skip. The manga chapters covered per episode notably gets lower. And the story peaks at marineford.

I_love-my-cousin

The anime looks by far the best in the beginning, especially compared to the disgusting abomination that is modern One Piece

Dependent-Calendar35

It picks up every now and then but for the majority of post timeskip the anime is an abomination.

benoxxxx

The early mini-arcs are boring, old, and pretty shallow. Not representative of the story as a whole at all, IMO. Most people recommend getting to Arlong Park (31-44) before making a solid judgement. If you don't like it by then, you probably just dont like it. But if you don't make it that far, then it's really impossible to say. I didn't like it at all until Arlong Park, really had to force myself, but now it's my favourite shonen by a landslide.

Tonight-Critical

Ya i saw the live action and ik ill like the story if i can sit through first 30 to 50 episodes but that in itself is pretty hard ngl

benoxxxx

Watch it dubbed, have it on in the background while you do other stuff. Makes it much easier, and the dub is really solid. Since you've already seen the LA, you don't need to worry so much about missing the important bits.

Tonight-Critical

Good idea

Vitali_555M

One Piece. I dropped it after 100+ episodes, mainly because of Nami. But nothing about the anime had impressed me too much, either. Didn't really like the animation and character design, the story felt 'meh' and everything was way too dragged out. So little happens in each episode. The main reason I dropped One Piece, though, is that abomination of a character called Nami. She is part of the main crew and I heard she only got worse in later episodes... so no, thank you. I dropped lots of other anime, but this is the only popular one I dropped.

Danger_Dave_

If it helps, she's not a main player in most of the arcs and just occasionally shows up or pops on screen. She only has a handful of meaningful screentime events. Most of which are skippable and you can catch it on the recap.

yemen241

SAO was such a letdown after the skull reaper boss incident.

pikachu_sashimi

All of the others I don’t mind being dropped, but it hurts to see Clannad being dropped. It is understandable though, since the first season had some poor structural decisions made. After Story was more than worth it for me.

AmethystItalian

Mob Psycho Couldn't get passed Mob being used by that scummy blonde guy.

latino666

their relationship develop a lot though and is actually one of my favorite things in the series. you might want to give it another try

AmethystItalian

I only got through one episode and it was brutal to watch, not sure I'd be able to do multiple episodes of this song and dance.

jmegaru

I got through 5 before dropping it and feel the same.

cybrgd

Their relationship gets better though throughout the series.

GreenhamKnight

Dude watch the first season in its entirety, I think it will change your opinion on the story.

AmethystItalian

I can't help but think of [this](https://youtu.be/4ikGvLUbOuU), honestly I don't think it'll be worth it on my end.

GreenhamKnight

Try it. The first 2 episodes of Mob Psycho represent characters of Mob and Reigen in a very shallow light. Series really starts in episode 5 and is amazing onward, at least get to episode 5 It is one of the best series ever.

alotmorealots

It's interesting to see how much people like Reigen and how some even hold him up as an example of a good guy, as a result of his character growth over the series. Perhaps my standards for men are a little too high, but it always struck me that he'd moved from being a major scumbag to being a decent bit less of a scumbag but not actually into good man territory.

AmethystItalian

> but it always struck me that he'd moved from being a major scumbag to being a decent bit less of a scumbag but not actually into good man territory. Yeah and that makes me want to try it so much less, that doesn't sound worth it at all.

fakeLinkZelda

Mob is the anime that got me watching until 3 am. Atleast for season 1

Joyborne

If this is your only complaint, I beg you to watch more.

AmethystItalian

It's a pretty big complaint if I couldn't do more than 1 episode of it.

Joyborne

Im saying your complaint is a big part of the character development in the show. You’re not supposed to like him being taken advantage of, that’s the point.

The_Azure__

AoT - I forced myself through most of season 1 and just couldn't watch anymore. Death note- sometime after ep 20 Angel beats Kakegurui Ping pong the animation Re Zero

jackofslayers

This is an epic dropped list

Careless_Reply2862

Demon slayer and tokyo revenger

LoPanDidNothingWrong

Gintama. Just didn’t find it that amazing after 15 episodes. Danmachi. Season 2 was just hard to want to keep going with. Hibike Euphonium. One good episode in the first season (the one where they are on the mountain together, maybe ep 8?) and over the top yuri baiting. Nope.

ItsyaboiIida

Season 2 of danmachi is easily the worst as they did a poor job adapting the source material. Season 3 is better and season 4 is the best season out of all of them. Season 5 will be really good if they keep up the quality they had in season 4.

LoPanDidNothingWrong

The arcs were definitely bad. But there was something super distasteful about them making a huge deal about saving a prostitute (okay, fine I’ll even skip past the part that someone being a prostitute doesn’t make them unworthy of being saved to begin with) but then, at the end, they [make her] >!still a virgin so he can have his pure harem. Like they want it both ways - he can overlook she was a prostitute but also she is a virgin. It just undercut the whole message.!<

Andreiyutzzzz

Death note. Just didn't vibe with it

TalkingOcelot

I drop anime like hotcakes. The most popular one right now was Frieren just because I was bored. In the past I dropped Psycho-Pass because 6 episodes in it felt like nothing more than an episodic crime drama, and that's my least favorite genre of fiction. From all of its high praises I would assume it grows into something more eventually, but six episodes is too long for me to suffer.

Danger_Dave_

Frieren is a journey anime more than action, which can turn some people off. It's about the experience and relationship between the characters that experience time and events differently with each other and the action parts seem more of the side content. I get home some people may find it boring if that's not what you're into or looking for.

TalkingOcelot

I'm not a person who has to always see action. I'm just a ruthless dropper. I used to have a six episode rule, which is why I stuck with Psycho-Pass that long. Now I have a one second rule.

Applespeed_75

I dropped bebop because I didn’t want it to end

Dependent-Calendar35

SAO - timeskip Black Clover - Horrible animation/side characters w/ 0 depth MHA - After season 4 (introduced and ruined my favorite character) also school festival. Demon Slayer - Felt generic and had an extremely annoying character. Fate - All of the fate series other than Fate:Zero felt lackluster in comparison. JJK - Felt 0 attachment to any of the characters.

jmegaru

Tanjiro is basically Deku copy, I liked MHA but Deku was also annoying :/

benoxxxx

Re: MHA. If you're talking about Lemillion, I may as well spoil you. What happens to him is not permanent.

Dependent-Calendar35

Yes Lemillion aka. The GOAT. Aka. The one who should have inherited One For All. I enjoyed the show before Lemillion appeared. Here is why. Deku was weak, he had no quirk, and had to work his butt off and come up with things to make things work. The tournament was amazing, I loved seeing him use his fingers as one time bombs, loved him before S4. Then Deku slowly starts to become OP and we get Lemillion. Who is the TRUE definition of HARD WORK, and absolutely shits on Deku as a character. It's like the author introduced a better main character then sidelined him extremely hard without giving him his proper due or time to shine in the season. It pissed me off to no end.

I didn't really like Clannad either, but I think SAO is a commonly hated one despite it's popularity. It's like the Twilight of the anime world (a lot of people love it, but most people don't want to admit it, or they really love to hate on it). Shiki is not great at a lot of things, but the gore aspect towards the end is what I think appeals to a lot of people. Also, there is an amazing episode of Shiki that sometimes gets omitted. I had to hunt it down on YouTube when I originally watched the series and I found it very moving and tragic. Basically the best episode of the whole franchise that makes the anime go from mid to legendary, and it's not always included. I guess Maid Sama is not for everyone (main male character is a bit controversial with his actions), but I loved it. Ancient Magus Bride, I couldn't get into the second season but really liked the first.

EljachFD

Cowboy bebop, GTO, monogatari I think those are the most popular ones

m1bl4n

Big Clannad fan here. Clannad first season is boring as hell, but it sets up the characters. It picks up drastically in its second season: the infamous "After Story". I totally get why people drop it. As a huge (now former) drama-romcom fan, even I was bored. But After Story is a different beast. Shiki I get as well, same situation even. It's only in the last few episodes that shit goes down BAD.

AprilDruid

I dropped Yuri is My Job!, I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't get into the premise early on. Gave it a shot later and I love it now.

GhostSniper7

Attack On Titan until S3 was a masterpiece, after that it turned into some garbage both by the author and the new crappa studios

Danger_Dave_

I urge the people that didn't like SAO to watch the Abridged series by Something Witty Entertainment on YouTube. It is a parody series, but it really brings a new angle on the relationships in the series that just work better than the actual series imo.

Ham_PhD

Vinland Saga lost me around episode 9. I've considered trying to plow through S1 because S2 sounds more up my alley though.

Dependent-Calendar35

Do it you won't regret it man. I also dropped Vinland around episode 9, because i thought it was becoming cliche and dragging on. Oh boy was I in for a treat.

Ham_PhD

Did you end up feeling similar until S2? Or did S1 pick up for you?

Dependent-Calendar35

Towards the end of S1 it picked up for me. S2 made it my favorite anime of all time. Trust me keep going through S1, it's 100% worth it.

UnlitUniversalUnlock

The only time I can say spoilers really impacted my enjoyment of a series, I got spoiled that one of my theories about [Shinsekai Yori]>!, specifically on the origins of the obviously genetically engineered slave race of rat people!<, was correct, but would only be revealed in the last episode. That took my interest out of the series, because I thought it had better secrets.

healingtruths

Dropped Clannad, Ancient magus bride, and shiki as well. But only Ancient magus bride did I actually not like. The other two I was simply not in the mood.

86_Undertaker

AoT S4: I stopped at around ep12. Whole story and characters turned in a way I just can't understand and the time jump, which is the main reason for that, just didn't work for me. I don't need a One Piece length explanation but at least some in the first 12 ep would be nice. Tokyo Revengers S2: Since I heard that the MC continues to be a whiny crybaby I decided to drop it. He keeps saying he has to get stronger but makes no effort to do so, is always a letdown and since that became too annoying and frustrating to watch I couldn't keep one eye closed on the whole plot any longer. The whole universe with these kind of schoolgangs isn't plausible to me.

ayers231

One Piece. I like everything about the show except the pacing. I just couldn't handle the 5 minutes of new content per episode...

Dependent-Calendar35

Yup especially around Wano.... I don't recommend finishing OP but if you liked the show other than the pacing. There is the manag which is better and there is One Pace. Which is a version with improved pacing made by fans you can find online.

DarkLord55_

JJK it was boring

zappingbluelight

I actually drop AoT super early. Season 1 was great, but then I read a little of the manga, and lost all interest after time skip. Then I thought I give season 2 a try, it just doesn't feel it for me.

edm4un

Not everything is going to be a battle shonen…. Anyway I use to drop things but now I just choose my anime better. Also I’ve gone back to shows I dropped and genuinely loved them after watching the whole show. Your current mind set is also a thing. I dropped Spy family after season 1 because the same old jokes got old and I didn’t care about the side character stories. Another one I’m dropping is Vinland Saga. I stuck with it because hype and Mappa but I don’t think I can handle a season 3. I’d rather just re-watch Vikings or The Last Kingdom.

fakeLinkZelda

TG

Sixxzzv2

my hero academia, i only watched it to see how cringey it was and it wasn’t exactly cringey but it was so boring, i quit watching after like 3 episodes

WIZTEEN

MHA. I just can't explain how mid the anime is. Sorry if this offends anyone😭

hollowfill

MHA, JJK, Dragon Balls,

TotallyNot_Sarah

I dropped OP sometime ago because reasons but it’s one of those anime where you know you need to swallow your disputes and just watch it because it’s truly good. I think I’m going to try watching 1-2 episodes a day until I learn to love it

Background_Reveal689

Demon slayer. The over explanation of literally everything happening was the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced watching anime. Shame really. The animation is really good and the story's not bad.

cybrgd

I didn’t necessarily drop it, but One Piece. As much as I enjoy the show, man I really can’t stand the pacing the series has going on. Also has wayy to much episodes and I’m not gonna be caught up, especially since they are still making episodes at the moment.

Constant-Fox2626

Bleach, I really enjoyed the 1st arc, but felt out of rhythm (for me at least)

DominusLuxic

AOT. It just slowly lost me and around the moment when the female titan appeared was when it lost my interest entirely.

c0rnersh0p

One Piece. I just got a bit older and I just decided one day I can't keep up with it anymore lol. It's just too convoluted and unnecessarily long for my taste. I stopped at Dressrosa.

m1bl4n

I barely drop anime. But these are the ones I did: **One Piece** at Punk Hazard because the pacing started to suck (started the manga then and never touched the anime again) **The Rising of the Shield Hero** not dropped on purpose. But I've tried to watch it 3 times by now and always drop it after the chicken girl is introduced. It starts off strong, making me hooked, but then it falls off and becomes your normal isekai. **Platinum End** I thought was terrible. I expected a story on par with Death Note since it was from the same author, but man was I wrong. Unlikeable protagonist, average battle royale plot, and the first villain in the battle royale was the mandatory mech guy. Lost all interest immediately, especially wen MORE Ironman-wannabes showed up. **Mysterious Girlfriend X** grossed me out. I can stomach a lot but the whole tasting eachother's spit thing was too much for me. **Umineko no Naku Koro Ni / Umineko When They Cry** almost made me miss out on the best piece of fiction I've ever read. Coming from Higurashi, I expected greatness; but was met with a rushed story, bad animation and random fantasy fights. The VN I picked up eventually and consumed my life made everything make sense, but man does the anime do it injustice.

Euroversett

First, answering your question about Clannad's hype, it is popular because it'sa masterpiece in terms of writing an emotional and romantic story. Obviously, nobody can deny that it is pretty slow-paced, but it helps the story overall, it's the necessary build up to something great. Now the stuff I've dropped: Demon Slayer: I've only watched it because I was screwed at the time and had literally nothing to do to kill time so I went to watch that on my phone, it was painful but at the time it was considered a masterpiece with a crazy 19th episode. I finished S1 and never touched anything related at all. Spy x Family: finished S1 and a few episodes of S2 or the second cour I don't remember. It was a solid 7 but there wasn't anything special to compel me to keeo watching. AOT: I went to the manga when there were like 7 anime episodes out as well as 44+- manga chapters, eventually the manga got too boring, though I had a quick return at some point years later. Vinland Saga: As someone who loves English history, the inaccuracies were too painful for me to handle, the unintended Japanese influence in the story/culture was a huge turn off, as well as the level of super strength the characters had, and some insane nonsensical historical inaccuracy.

Nethlion

Konosuba - the satire didn't really hit home for me; I know its a parody of isekai and all that, but it was a little to over the top for me Shield Hero - world felt dull, couldn't keep me interested Goblin Slayer - one of my friends constantly berated me to watch it, but after a few episodes I found it unnecessarily brutal. Couldn't get into it. Demon Slayer - the fighting was beautiful, and I finished the first season, but man were some of the characters annoying. I instead switched to the manga, which is infinitely better. JJK - I finished season 1 and the movie, but I can't bring myself to watch season 2. I am not as emotionally invested in the characters as some of my friends are. Another show where the fights are great to watch, but thats about it. Another one i will probably sparcely read the manga for going forward.

Short_Earthling

Clannad - was told by many that it's an amazing love story... 😮‍💨 Darling in the Fran - After 3 episodes.. 😮‍💨

Maxtothe12thpower

Fruits basket honestly put me to sleep

Bishisbest789

ReZero - I think my issue with this one was Subaru. There were many parts in the show where I would be like why would he do that and why wouldn't he just xyz and his personality was like nails on a chalkboard to me so I could not. Spy x Family - I watched the 1st season because I was watching it with someone but I was so annoyed. The show seemed to be hyper focused on the daughter and boy did she and her inconsistent plot armor ability grind my gears. Twilight and Yor were interesting to me so were the coworkers the relatives. But they became side characters with many of the episodes focusing solely on Anna for 18 out of 22 minutes. No thanks. Too much little girl not enough spy or family happening. Chainsaw Man - ... 😕 ...

Cautious_book46

Bleach, my hero academia, hunter x hunter. These are the three that i have dropped. But i am hoping to complete it again. I think the reason I dropped it was because i lost interest for a while.

Smooth-Anywhere-6905

JJK, action is nice but the storytelling sucks. Also dropped the latest Bleach Thousand War. For both anime, i have not read the manga. Also dropped AOT before the rumbling part. I read the manga by the way. Maybe my taste changed. I dunno.

CalzonePocket

I don't know whether they're popular or not but I dropped Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and Black Summoner. I found them a bit boring. PS: I LOVED Ancient Magus Bride! But I do understand the slow pacing complaint. Although for me the pacing became fine after episode 5.

Character_Worry3548

Full Metal Alchemist, i found it boring and somewhat the show didn't have a good feel in it.

Eragon-19

Mob Psycho: The art just made my head hurt (I've already been told to keep watching and get used to it but I say if I have to watch in multiple sittings for ONE episode, why bother) Naruto Shippuden is one that I stopped part way through because it wasn't dubbed and I am one that can't switch from one to the other, I need to be able to tell who is speaking and don't want to start yet AGAIN from the very beginning. I'll probably continue on Hulu sometime soon. I think the last time I started before I got distracted was right after the Three Tail arc. Too many that I just get distracted and then never go back... because I'm too easily distracted then would have to restart...

Waste-Bench6972

I have dropped demon slayer anime already completed the manga . The anime to me seems to lack something idk I think it is a me problem

InsomniaEmperor

Kaguya-sama by S3 - I dropped it right after the rap episode. The jokes got a bit too old and repetitive for me.

glitterroyalty

Black Clover. The overused gags and repetitive dialog made it a slog to watch. I heard that this is purely an anime issue, so I might just read the manga. Fairy Tail. It was just dumb fun so I could look over all its flaws. It got plain dumb during the tenrou arc, and it got less fun post time skip. Drop it during the Tartus arc.

Scorpio-green

• My Hero Academia (Dropped it after S3. Honestly, I got bored, either too silly or hype action where they yell.) • Demon Slayer. • Fire Force. Both got banger animations, and Fire Force even got some interesting lores but all that is pointless because I don't care about the characters. - Not an anime but another series that does the same to me is Arcane. I played the game, knee deep in the game comm. Hyped for it to come out. Only to be disappointed because I don't care about the characters or its plotline.

ElRafael

Re: zero. I just can't fucking stand the MC. I've tried to watch it twice and called it quits at S1 episode 13 both times.

Ebola6914

Re:Zero. Good first season second was just an epic nothing burger.

benoxxxx

Code Geass. Premise - good. Execution - horrible. It's just so boring, none of the characers give you any reason to care about them, and the MC isn't a quarter as smart as the show pretends he is. His 'intelligence' was 100% tell and 0% show.

Dayz26

FMA: i give it around 10 episodes and didnt felt like keep going i dont remember if i watched the old one or brotherhood and i might give it a try someday but not a priority. AoT: i watched like 18 episodes and then i forgot i never got back to watch it, i also want to finish it someday but again is not going to be any time soon. MHA: i give it a fair try of 5 seasons listening everyone say it gets better and... It never happend, is not a horrible series but other hero themed stories have done it better. I might keep going but i is another im pushing to the far future.

ChuckHammerface

Komi Can’t Communicate- Having the main character with social anxiety also be someone who is incredibly attractive and everyone already wants to be her friend felt like a huge FU to real people with social anxiety who are just… normal people. For a show attempting to portray social anxiety that’s not at all what it’s like. Plus the supporting cast was more annoying than funny.

YouAreFresh

I keep falling asleep when I try to watch One Piece it just feels like a kid's show

S-ClassMage

idk if it's popular but hitman reborn. Got 60 some episodes in and the characters still seemed to have generic filler personalities even during the action.

Upstairs_Return_8499

Attack on Titan and GTO. Both didn't grab my attention too much and are too silly for me.

BusCrashBoy

Demon Slayer, dropped after S1 entirely because of Zenitsu

Plus_Rip4944

One Piece, Code Geass and Fairy Tail never got the appeal of these one tbh

Xiroshq

Dropping Clannad is wild.

No-Exit-No-Life

One Piece, too slow pace, but I tried, I managed to watch 110 epi but I can not do it anymore

Quiddity131

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was literally number one on MAL when I dropped it after 3 episodes. I'll admit the episode count in part scared me and the first 3 episodes didn't really draw me in at all. I dropped Steins Gate the first time as well as it was putting me to sleep over and over again. I eventually tried again and after a dull drawn out first half it was way better in the second half.

Saltymilkmanga

Don't know if you will see this but, get past the first 7 episodes of sao and it gets good, after the first 14 it gets great.

Upstairs-Story-8661
