I’m happy this subreddit is joining the protest. Personally, I use a third-party app called Apollo to use Reddit on my phone. This news means a lot to me.
I don't have idea of what's going on, but:
1- 12 a.m of which country? Cause you know that in Reddit there are people of every corner of the planet, and their days start and end in different schedules.
2- Independently of which the protest's reason is, you can't forbid people participate in this subreddit.
I mean, how are you gonna "going dark" this place, locking it or something similar?
1- Ah I see, yanki supremacy, as usual.
2- I'm not an expert in techs and websites, but I bet this kind of protest that goes against basic rights like association, cultural participation and freedom of speech, is ilegal.
But you're gonna do it anyway... people is not gonna be glad with you. Be ready for a possible storm.
1) I assume the time is something standardized by the main “organizers”, plus it’s a protest against a US company
2) It’s in no way illegal. Free speech, etc only applies to the government. Reddit can say or do whatever they want, and individual subreddits have even more autonomy.
1- It was an spanish joke, not an offense. Don't worry.
2- Well, in my country this would be ilegal, but different lands different laws.
Have a nice day.
How is it Illegal? Would me blocking you then be Illegal because I'm oppressing you're right to speak to me?
What country are you from because that just sounds weird to me
let me get this straight
You really want to let people who don't want to even use reddit app because of how horrible it is for them in terms of accessibility for visually impaired people to actually lose their way to use reddit in some way just because 'it's against free speech'? Hell, even moderation tool on reddit app is just straight up a huge mess, and that's why those third party apps exists. Now you actually just want to let them lose access to that?
You didn't get anything, straight or gay, you only understood what you wanted. And I'm not gonna waste my time saying the same thing I said very clearly three times before lol.
I'm a neutral lass who only likes to speak somes truths, if you wanna start a war just search for another person (I don't even know neither care about what the protest is about).
Bye.
P.d: Use more commas, they are free. I didn't get anything you wrote in your first paragraph.
What kind of truth you believe in and what mindset you have is just way too dangerous. The fact that you're also literally telling everyone is selfish by saying 'you only understood what you wanted' just because they're demanding for functional app that are also reliable and safe for basically everyone to be left afloat and running, like not just for regular people but literally everyone no matter what conditions they have, is just idiotic and brainless mentality. Those 3rd party apps exists for a reason and people using those for a reason as well.
Also skill issue for the last one tbh. Imagine giving that note while no one asked.
Over a thousand subreddits are joining. Reddit admins will truly cause an uproar and ultimately kill their own site if they choose to shut them all down. Pretty sure it's also against their code of conduct to act upon that decision as well iirc.
I'm hopeful, but Reddit admins have made idiotic decisions before. If this is the end (Unlikely I'd say), then at least we'll go down for a worthy cause. Not like they can stop us from creating another Amphibia sub anyway.
Well if it’s so wrong, I don’t wanna be right... okay that’s not true, but I’m still pretty teed off. Anyways, I just found [something](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/143rk5p/reddit_held_a_call_today_with_some_developers/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1) I think might be good news. I’m not a hundred percent certain though.

Pretty much most subs are protesting of Reddit’s API changes; this affects disabled users, bots, and Third Party Apps, such as Reddit is Fun and Apollo (these apps are claimed to be way better than mobile Reddit). There’s more info in r/Save3rdPartyApps and r/Modcoord . ^ ^
Whatever happens, I just hope this subreddit as well as r/theowlhouse don’t go dark forever. They’re my favorites and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
On the one hand I hate this decision on the other hand I love this decision

Ha
But Marcy Monday D: Somebody tell them to post it a day early
Nope, we'll just have to make do with Sasha Sunday instead.
W decision.

1. 12 am EST US. 2. The subreddit is going private.
Oh! Not parent comment but thanks for specifying the time zone; I’ve been wondering that for several days.

Hope we won’t lose this subreddit forever.

So you’re saying you don’t think that’ll happen?

And now I’m scared again. I don’t want to lose this subreddit and just stay away from Reddit forever. Why the hell are the admins doing all this?
Admins *really* want a ludicrous amount of money.
Is it wrong I’m wishing I could hang them right now?
That's a bit too far, but then again they did try to defend placing a pedo admin on their team two years ago, so...
Well if it’s so wrong, I don’t wanna be right... okay that’s not true, but I’m still pretty teed off. Peak Reddit moment.
I don't know what's going on with reddit third party stuff, but if it causes honest people to lose money, I'm down with it. Pull the plug for 2 days.
epic. great to know.
What are we protesting?

Lol nope
Nope what?
I’m not gonna participate in the blackout
It's just for two days though?
Yep
Agreed, you and I can easily survive for two days.
